  • Vista Media Center DVD Player not to return to previous position

    Hello and thanks.

I have Vista Ultimate and I dive into the wonder that is Vista Media Center. It has a great feature! However, one of the points I noticed that lack is the DVD player does not playback from the previous position. As far as I know, there is no option in the GUI. In a spirit of clarity, let me give body to what I mean:

If I play a DVD movie and stop it in half way through and close Vista Media Center, then restarts VMC and DVD playback, the DVD starts from the beginning and not the position that I stopped. It is not only boring, it is a feature of all the other DVD players I have used offers.

So, my question is this: How can I activate previous position reading recovery in VMC?

    Hi AShimon,

Thank you for visiting Windows Vista Microsoft answers forum.

There is no option in Windows Vista Media Center to resume playback where you left off, after the closure of the Media Center.

However, I will propose you to pause the video you play and then lock the computer if you do not use or else you can also continue to work on the computer after pausing the video. Whenever you want to watch the video from where you paused just click on the 'play' button.

Please let us know if it helps.

    Thank you and best regards,
    David

  • How to connect windows media with internet player, to get information out of cd & dvd when I pull them out?

Could not get information of cd or dvd media when I pull them out on windows media player

    Hello

What operating system is installed on the computer?

In many cases, the reader can download information from the media for you and add it to your files automatically. For example, when you rip a CD, the player can search an online database and download information from media on the tracks on the CD.

The player can periodically analyze the contents of the Player library for items that are missing information on the media. First, it matches the items in your Player library to entries in the online database, and then it downloads the missing media information and adds it to the files in the Player library automatically.

  • My Windows Media says it is not compatible with any DVD security code I try to play.

I use my DVD player on my computer all the time when I want to watch a movie and am not in a room with a DVD player. I just used it about 3 days ago and it worked fine. Now, when I put a DVD, a DVD, an error message appears saying that Windows Media is not compatible with security on the DVD (s) codes that I'm playing, and I need some sort of update. It doesn't tell me what I need and when I click on 'web help', I said that there is a mistake, and that there is no other info. I'm not a geek of any kind and do not really understand computers for use much more basic. Please help me understand what the problem is, and if I need an update, where. Thank you.

    Hi Mary,

Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community.

I'll try to help you get the problem solved.

I would be grateful if you could answer the following questions:

    1. Are what you signed up as an administrator?
    2. Are you aware of any change (software or hardware) performed on the computer before the show?

You can perform a System Restore to the date when the computer was working fine and check.

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

Hope this helps and let us know if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help you.

  • DVD player not recognized after starting in windows server 2003 r2

I installed Windows Server 2003 R2 Std on my HP DL180 G6 by using the internal DVD player, but after booting into windows, the DVD drive could not be recognized and it's showing in the 'PCI device' Device Manager under "Unknown device" with a yellow question mark. I googled and tried some of the solutions, also tried to reformat and reinstall Windows, but still facing the same problem. HP support gave me some solutions like updated BIOS, erasing the CMOS memory, unplug and plug back the sata cable, but always without success.

  • Network of Windows media sharing service player does not start - Vista and PS3

I am running Vista 32 bit Home Premium and trying to share my media to DLNA on my PS3 PC using Windows Media Sharing Service. UPnP is enabled. Network discovery is turned on. File sharing is enabled. Media sharing is turned on.

Whenever I visit Windows Media Player or try to change the setting of sharing media in network and sharing Center, there is the error message "media sharing is currently disabled, either because the sharing service is not running or your firewall settings have changed. To restart sharing, you must first confirm your settings.

During the deactivation and reactivation of sharing multimedia files, I never see PS3 on the list (not a single unknown device appears). Also I see no Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service on the list of Services - there is no way to toggle the service or do start automatically.

There are several user accounts on this PC and I made the changes on my admin account.

Tried a 3rd party software Java "PS3 Media Server" and makes my Vista computer show on PS3 without parameters or modifications to firewall. This suggests that the WIFI, router, network discovery and UPnP work. I prefer to use Windows services if I would only get their work.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
