Here's what I recommend you do:

    1. disable UAC (do this if you are using Vista or Windows 7, otherwise, go to step # 2). Comes down

restrictions - turn it off completely.
2 restart your computer for the change to take effect.

    4. install. It should work fine.
    5. If it still does not work, try to open all or part of your MS Office applications (such as MS Word, MS Excel, etc.).
    6. follow steps 3-4.
    7. If it still does not work, follow step # 3 again. After you download it, try unplugging your computer from

Internet (unplug the internet cable or turn off the modem). Then, try to install the downloaded file

(KB982331). It should work this time.

Do the same for all the updates that come with KB982331, IF ANY.

I have Kaspersky Internet Security (which I disabled it-the same thing happens).  I tried to rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution - nothing works.  On the surface, it seems that Microsoft have released no updates (I know is not the case)

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Constant reminder of Windows Update KB967715 for every time that I reboot.

Whenever I reboot my laptop HP (XP SP3) I get a reminder to install KB967715. I install it, it does not request a reboot, sometimes I restart immediately sometimes not. Update indicates that the update was successful, this was annoying for awhile. Any ideas?

    Hello

Control Panel - Windows Updates - right click on the update and HIDE.

Restart twice more. If the callback occurs during the 2nd restart try these:

You will need to follow these steps if the update is still stuck in the installation mode.

You can use the solutions in this KB - 3 methods and I listed a little help for them below

The update is not installed successfully, you receive a message, and the computer restarts when you try to
install an update in Windows Vista

Method 1: Start Windows Vista with the Windows installation media and use the repair feature

You can also do a safe mode startup repair to access the Recovery Options If you have them available
or use the DVD as described above.

You can also do a restore of the system of starting with a Vista disk.

Method 3: Rename the Pending.xml file, and then change the registry (this method is part of the advanced troubleshooting)

    See article below for that.

You can use this method on the updates that have this problem.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/949358

Hide the update (click right - HIDE in the updates of Windows) and go to the Microsoft Download Center to download
    and install it.

  • Windows Update runs for a long time without finding update

    Separated from this thread.

Hi men, I have a similar problem with update of windows 7.

Windows Update runs long without finding updated and do not stop running.

on the "windows Update" Panel, Windows shows no research update and no updates installed, while all are displayed on the history until the KB915597 on 21/06/2015

I found on the web a lot of posts on this problem, but without finding a solution so far.

On top the English is not my native language, that's why I'll be very interested if anyone, old or young to help me.

    Thank you in advance
