Windows Virtual PC, create application shortcuts

I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on a Lenovo laptop. I installed Virtual PC and Windows XP legacy software operating Mode that I use. It all works perfect and the Windows XP Mode Applications show in my menu, and I can open applications with shortcuts that were created automatically. Since windows THAT XP is no longer supported, I decided to create a second virtual PC as a test project. On the second virtual PC, I downloaded and installed Windows XP Mode as the first one but then I upgraded the second Virtual PC for Windows 7 Pro 32 bit that I bought. It installed fine and after you install Virtual PC integration software it works perfectly. The only problem is that the 32 bit Windows 7 Virtual PC does not appear in the start menu under Windows Virtual PC. Therefore applications that I install in the Virtual PC in Windows 7 32 bit are available in the start menu shortcuts. I can open the Virtual PC in Windows 7 32-bit and run inside applications and everything works fine but I can't understand how to create shortcuts for applications. Help, please.

Thank you, Mark

Hi Mark,

    Hi Mona,.

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. you receive an error message or error code?

This problem may occur due to virus corruption of system files or system.

  • No shortcut/folder "Windows Virtual PC" appears in the start menu after installation.

I am re - a question that has been previously published by "turkeh" which the answer has not solved the problem. New: after successful Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 Ultimate RC installation the specified shortcut, "windows virtual PC", does not appear under "all programs" as the moderators mentioned; It simply isn't there. Uninstall and reinstall XP mode does not help.

Help with this is appreciated. Thank you.

It seems that the information may be incorrect.  You must install both, because the Menus are created by the installation of Virtual PC.  Windows XP mode installs just needed to run files, which are then used by Virtual PC.

    See you soon,.

How can I create a Windows using NOR-DAQmx application in Visual Studio 2010 64-bit?

I'm transferring a 32-bit application on 64-bit.  In visual Studio, I added the 64-bit project configuration.  He compiled the source very well but the reports link errors:

    Hi LaserShore,

Think you that you added the 64-bit platform settings target according to this page? : http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/372636F-01/mstudiowebhelp/html/64bitcore/

Already running 32-bit application? Have you changed references to the 64-bit version?

You use Measurement Studio? If so some features are not supported with 64 bit.

Also when you say that you have added the NIDAQmx.lib, did you follow this KB:http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/38F67B28D995C6958625706E000C580C

    Hello

    To create a custom toolbar.

    1. create a new folder under your user name folders. Place all shortcuts in this folder that you want to appear on the new toolbar.

    2. right click on the taskbar, then select Toolbars / new toolbar.

    3. navigate to the new folder that you created and select it. Click on the button to select a folder.

The new toolbar will be placed on the taskbar.

    Hey John,

Another user with the same problem reported success in repairing the file association for its types of LNK files.  To do this test, go to the following Web page.  Scroll down (to half way down the page) to find and click on the link for LNK.  Open the file that downloads and run the registry script and see if it solves the problem:

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.html

Alternatively, you can try the system restore to roll 'back' in time to 48 hours.  This restoration will cancel the changes made to the system files and the registry changes, but will not affect of your personal files, emails, photos, documents or anything else.  The restoration of takes about 2 minutes and you can cancel it (or choose another date to return in time for) if he does ' t solve the problem.

For a Web site, save in my favorites first. Then, just left-click on it and drag it to the desktop or the taskbar.

Is there a way I can connect to a FTP server directly from my desktop using Windows 8?

FTP Windows support is relatively unchanged since Vista.  If you open the 'Computer' (or 'This PC') file, you can right click on an empty spot and choose 'new shortened network' and use it to create a shortcut for FTP account.  Then you can drag-and - drop things on your FTP server.  It is basic and most people prefer a better program like WinSCP or FileZilla (or even more), but it works.
