Windows Vista network adapter problem

Machine 1:

VMWare Workstation 6.0.2 build 59824Host OS: Windows 2003 server Enterprise edition 5.2.3790 service pack 2 32-bit

Machine 2

VMWare Workstation 6.0.3 build 80004

host operating system: Windows 2003 server Enterprise edition 5.2.3790 service pack 2 32-bit

I created a virtual machine in Vista Business on the Machine 1.  After creating and testing the image, it is copied on Machine 2 for use by another group.  When the image of Vista is started on the 2 Machine, the windows inside the image network adapter is disappearing and Vista requires the user to configure "Network 2".  Copy the image to the Machine 1 does not cause a new adapter to create, instead, the Image is turned down for the originial Windwos «Network» network adapter

The only difference in hardware between the above two machines has an Intel 2 GHz Xeon model 5130 (Machine 2) and the other has an Intel Xeon 2.33 GHz model 5140 (Machine 1).  I can provide more information, if necessary, as I'm not even sure what type of information can be useful to all.  Thank you.

  • Windows Update/network adapter problems?

I have a Dell Inspiron Duo which is running Windows 8 Pro ('not supported' by Dell for this model). Very well, everything seems to work until about a week before, when I installed an update (I think KB2792100 or KB2797052), and now my laptop cannot find or connect to any wired or wireless networks. The icon on the taskbar displays bars signal grayed out with an 'X' red on them, and when you pass the mouse over it, it says, "not connected - no connection is available. I did a system restore, that uninstalled software more recently installed, as I expect to, but network problems remained. Windows Network Diagnostics has been as useful as ever (he did nothing), and tries to install a driver Windows 7 led to the BSOD and an other-system restore. Can anyone help? I miss the Internet :'(

    Hi Magikarpet,

It can be upsetting when the network connection fails to run after an update. You can try to install a driver Windows 7 in Compatibility Mode and check if the network is enabled. You can download the Windows 7 drivers from the following link by punching in the serial number:
    http://Dell.to/QjjZDA

Please follow the steps below to install the drivers in compatibility mode:

    1. right click on the program icon and choose Properties.
2 when appears in the Properties dialog box, click the Compatibility tab, and then click Run Compatibility convenience store.
    3. in Compatibility Mode section, select run this program in Compatibility Mode for box and select the Windows version of the program you want in the drop-down list.
    4. click on OK and then run the file again.

    Let me know the status.

  • Dell Inspiron laptop, Windows Vista Factory restore problems :(

Hi, I'm a poster first. My computer knowledge is empowered moderate, so please cut me some slack! I hope someone can help me, I would be very happy.

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop computer and the operating system Windows Vista 32. I recently tried a factory restore. I wish that I would have looked at this site before I tried.

I finished the factory restore, but I think that I made a mistake. I have saved all the files except my music files, because I didn't think anything was important. I'm stoopied. Now, when I try to use my computer is a few things wrong with it.

1 there is no way to connect to or even to recognize a wireless network. I have one in my house who previously worked a lot with my computer. When I use windows to diagnose the problem: "this computer has an adapter installed and configured wireless device." If I click on the button that says "install wireless networking equipment and verify that the correct drivers are loaded. Up is a window "Solve driver problems" which is almost useless.

    2. when I try to run a program, for example already installed windows Mah Jong Titans, on the computer I get this message: "exceleration material is either disabled or not supported by your video card driver, which could slow down the performance of the game. Good so my video card is not well configured. Now that I look, the resolution looks really different than before. Kind of a blur. I use my computer to run the music production software so I don't know that this is going to work.

    3. I have the DVD of re-installation of the operating system. I also have the CD of resources that contains all of the drivers (or other.) I can't load the drivers, or even knowing which ones I should install.

I guess that I just want to know what I do to recover my computer at 100%. I hope that my problem is not too broad or too specific, but I hope some feeling there out a pain and can help out me.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE

    -nick

OK, the factory restore (takes 10 minutes) is less work because everything is done and you do not have to load drivers or utilities. In any case, it is easy to do and you have all that on the drivers and utilities CD. There might be a few steps on the CD, but you can download Dell. Once you have reinstalled Windows back post and I'll tell you the order in which to load your drivers. To do this: equip your Windows DVD. Everything that comes close to her. Restart the computer. As soon as you see the Logo Dell press F12. You will see the start page. Select your drive (should already be highlighted) and press ENTER. Press a key, install now, accept licenses, instructions are not always the same for each computer, depends on your configuration. Take your time, follow the instructions carefully. You must delete all data from your hard drive (C :) and the NTFS file system format. Also delete (D :), it's where is the factory restore.) You can post back if you arrive at a page (just stop there and wait for my reply) you don't understand.

  • Satellite P15-8409, Atheros wireless network adapter problem

Hello. I'm having a frustrating problem with an old laptop Satellite P15. I restored the phone to default settings using the recovery disk that the system was working very badly. After that, the wireless network adapter has stopped working. In the Device Manager "Atheros AR5001X + Wireless Network Adapter" is marked with a yellow exclamation point. In the menu properties, under general, the State of the device the following is listed:

The device cannot find enough free resources that it can use (code 12)

The operating system is Windows XP Home Edition. The same problem has been present in SP1, SP2 and SP3. I also updated the BIOS to V2, but it also did not help.

At work, we use a wireless internet connection. At home, I have a DSL connection. Curiously, when I plugged the network cable to the House, the yellow exclamation mark disappeared and a wireless connection icon appeared in the network connections window. I assumed that the problem has been resolved by updating to Windows; However when I brought the computer in the office, the wireless adapter was once more in the State I described.

I searched the internet for the same problem, but was unable to find anything. I would be very happy to help.

    all the best,

    James

BIOS version is installed on your machine? And you have you recently changed some hardware etc...?

I don't know what it could be, but in the worst cases, the wlan card has certain shortcomings. You can check this by getting somewhere such an atheros wlan card or intel and install it instead of the one installed.

Maybe the exchange of cards should solve this problem?

    Welcome them

  • Why Windows Vista always creates problems? Why users should bear the burden of paying for repairs, relocation and wasting their time to fix a software problem? Why?

    Vista sucks

You want more than one recovery disc - you want a real Windows Vista (or whatever the OS) installation disc (this is the type of disc I insist on whenever I have buy a new computer).  Sorry, you had so much trouble and had to do a clean install to fix the problem when having the record straight would have allowed a repair/upgrade level which would have preserved your data, settings, and programs.

In any case, I am happy that the problem is resolved (even if it was not a pleasant task).

    Method 1:

The issue could be related to corrupt check Windows Socket the link provided below to troubleshoot issues with the nerve to Windows in Windows Vista.

How to determine and to recover from Winsock2 corruption in Windows Server 2003, Windows XP and Windows Vista

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/811259

    Method 2:

First, disable all other connections to try to force the wireless connection to request the information needed in the router.

    (a) click Start

    (b) Control Panel

    (c) network and sharing Center

    (d) managing network connections.

    (e) click every link that is EXCEPT the wireless LAN connection, and then click on disable this network device.

    (f) then see if your wire will connect.

    (g) you should probably run the diagnostic and repair utility on the Network and Sharing Center menu to force the wireless card to request information from the router IP.

    Method 2:

If all else fails, go back into the network and sharing Center, manage network connections and right click on the wireless network connection and select Properties.

Then click Internet version 4 Protocol and select Properties.

Click in the box that says "Use following IP address" and enter the information that has been shown in IPCONFIG report for your connection to the Wired Local network above.

Do the same for "use the following DNS servers."

Make sure that you type the IP address, mask subnet, default gateway, and DNS addresses exactly the same than the connection to the Local network was when he got the information from the router.

I still have malware in the old account or do I go into my registry and restore something?
