Windows Vista SP2 caused USB Driver Corruption

Windows Vista Service Pack 2 for x 64-based systems (KB948465)

Every since I was the above, my Kodak AIO printer will not work correctly.  After several long discussions and atempted fixed (all associated Kodak Reg items to various files uninstall and reinstall - unistall Hello reinstall).  The printer will work as a stand alone.  I was uber dollar on a new USB printer cable.  Kodak said that I have to reinstall the orig USB driver.

Computer is a HP with Windows Vista Edition a6720y Home Premium
Processor AMD Phenom 9550 Quad Core Processor 2.20 GHz
6 GB OF RAM
64 bit OS

They said for this I need to install the OS of orig.  I don't want to have to do that.  Is the any way to reintall the drivers only?

Hi NitemarX,

Thanks for posting.

So it may happen that after installing the service packs for the operating system, a device may not work properly.

From now on, there is no need to reinstall vista.

You can also take a look at the article mentioned below.

A device driver is not installed or a hardware device does not work correctly after you install a Service Pack for Windows Vista

Thanks for posting on the Forum of answers.

I suggest to backup your saved games and reinstall the program.
Something in the Service Pack may have corrupted some aspects of FSX, this should solve it.

  • Error 0x8007045D when you try to install Windows Vista SP2

    Hello

Currently I have Windows Vista SP1 and want to upgrade to service pack 2. When I try to do the update of Windows, I get "error (0x8007045d) Error_IO_DEVICE. I also tried to install it in safe mode, I get the same error message. After having traveled a bit on the internet, I found that it is probably because my HDD is damaged... so I run the chkdsk program...

The chkdsk program stops at 16%... Step 4 of 5... When 85785 files off 300000something files are done... and it does nothing more. It keep running like this all night, it goes no further.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I need to do to successfully install Windows Vista SP2?

    Thanks for your help!

OK, I started the computer with the Windows CD and I ran chkdsk /f at a command prompt.

Chkdsk /f found errors it corrects.

I ran Chkdsk/r... .he got stuck after scanning 85763 files... near the place, he would always get stuck (85785 files)... so I guess it's the same file that crashes chkdsk.

The good news: I still have a functioning computer.

The bad news is that I ran the SP2 from windows update in new safe mode and it didn't work... I'm still stuck with my problem.

I have an extra hard drive... that I ordered from Dell for my girlfriend's computer, his computer died before she could use the player, but it is larger, then the drive of your computer and it is brand new... the only downside is that the player has been implemented for the computer of my girlfriend (pilots and other things) and does not work in my computer. I guess I'll try to format that drive to make it work in my computer... it should fix this and then bad SP2 remedial power very well.

I guess I have no choice.

I suggest to remove avg (uninstall) then try sfc/scannow then chkdsk /f several times. a few times, they need more going to make things more

Microsoft security essentials is a better a v for not update couseing problems.

You can allways put avg in the back.

not having is not enouph to free space for temporary files can couse problems too.

Using Windows Vista SP2 (32 bit), cannot install IIS.  Tried several of the resolutions found on the web to turn (uninstall .net 3.0) to uninstall WAS.  Still nothing works.  Look at the event log, it appears that the TrustedInstaller.exe is in a loop that indicates that Windows Servicing began a process of change state KBxxxxx package installed to installed.  I have this day to the next release and we found thousands of entries repeated over and over as it in the event Log.

I have only a limited understanding of IIS and ASP.net.

    1. What are they? IIS 5, 6, 7.0?
    2. make sure that your version of Vista can support.
Go to programs and features > column to the left, turn Windows has on or off > scrolling Internet Information Service > expand (+) sign and make sure if its level of compatibility under Web management tools. Home Premium can go as far as IIS6. > Make sure check marks are on the elements you need to install IIS.

    3. from what I understand, the version of Vista Ultimate and superior is required to install IIS 7.

  • "Not enough space" error windows install during the installation of Windows vista SP2 software

Original title - cannot install Windows Installer 3.1 on Windows Vista Home Edition

I use windows vista home with service pack 2 installed. I have a custom made software. Before installing this software, I need to install 4 i.e. cystal reports, dotnet, report viewer and Windows Installer 3. I was able to install the first 3, but the windows installer fails, it is said to be "saturated". I also tried MSI 4.5 but of no use. My software runs well on Windows XP. The interesting thing is that I return this software a year and I installed it on vista and it worked fine. Now I have re-installed windows vista on my computer and had updated. Now this problem. Could there be a reason why some update to windows vista, I installed now wasn't there last year that causes the problem. Can anyone help.

    Hi tbilal22

Windows Installer 4.5 comes pre-installed with Windows Vista and Windows Vista SP1. Please refer to the article for more information-

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/942288

It is possible that the old software, it is not compatible to be used with Windows Vista SP2. I suggest you try software installation by using the Windows Vista or XP on Windows Vists SP2 compatibility mode and check if you are able to solve the problem.

Compatibility mode is used if a program written for an earlier version of Windows does not work properly. Then, you can use the program compatibility Wizard to change the compatibility of the program settings. To manually change the settings of a program, use the individual program's compatibility tab

You can check the link for assistance on compatibility mode - mentioned below

When you install Windows Vista SP2 via Windows Update program, I continually receive an 737D error Code.  This error code says "Windows cannot update services and important files while the system uses them.  Save any open files, and then restart the computer. »

Has anyone encountered this problem and found a solution?

    Thank you

    Joe Kunkel
