Windows xp home/remote desktop capabilities.

Hello who ever at microsoft of right. I have several computers in use around the House and learn more about the features and the robot of them every day the last project is networking with microsoft prouducts such as windows live Messenger and remote desktop. I was trying to install the Remote Desktop feature windows on windows xp family for the last two days, as I was doing research on technical specifications for this task, I came across information that revealed to me that remote desktop will not work on windows xp family I found it hard to believe that the designer of windows XP Home Edition doesn't have to see the need and or the desire for a husband/wife. teenage girl/teenager son incorporate the office function remotely in windows xp family only provided in windows xp professional. My question is XP Home Edition designers to see this after the fact and need somewhere in the downloads windows provided the software needed to integrate this feature because it can be very useful in helping in other remote sites.

Unfortunately, remote desktop can be used to access a computer of the publishing house.  But, you can use remote desktop to access a computer running XP Professional.  There is no room for this download for the home edition.  The only way would be to upgrade to XP Professional ortrick your computer into thinking that it is professional , which may or may not work.  Do this at your own risk.  I suggests that you do not try.  Then, you can download Remote Desktop fromhere .

  • I can not connect on windows vista home basic desktop pc because of the former owner

I can't log on to Windows vista home basic desktop pc because of the password previous owners is unknown

    Hello

    Try the following.

Using another PC, download the app from the following link and save it in your downloads folder.

    PC login now

Once the download is complete, open your download folder and double-click on the installer - this will result in another file, which is the disk image (.) ISO) you need to burn to a blank CD.

Now, you will need to use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.

When the disk has been created, shut down the PC you can not log on, press the ESC key as soon as you press the power button to access the Start Menu, insert the CD, select Boot Options (usually f9), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press enter - peut also have you to "Press any key" to boot from the CD if asked to.

Follow the instructions on the guide here to remove the current password.

    Hello

    What is the error message?

If you have enabled Live Mesh Remote Desktop, you must be running Windows Vista as an administrator (a type of user account that allows full access to the computer,
including the ability to install programs and manage other user accounts.) to uninstall the Live Mesh software.

  • Remote Desktop issues connecting from home to work the computer in Windows XP. Remote Desktop stops responding and eventually disconnects.

Just around the beginning of July (2011) I started to have remote Office questions when connecting from home to work. If I minimize the connection for a while and come back later, it will be often does not. I'll have to hit the close X button several times before, he ends by abruptly disconnects. By the sudden I want to say that I don't get no dialogue usual warning that the session will be disconnected.

Also, sometimes when I connect I get a white screen instead of a connection window.

Anyone know if there was a Windows Update, or anything that can cause problems with RDP.

I used to be able to connect perfectly without any problems.

    Thank you

    Hello

Your question of Windows is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the public on the TechNet site. Please post your question in the below link: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/itproxpsp/threads

  • Windows Server 2012 Remote Desktop "flicker/crash.

I am running Windows Server R2 Standard 2012 on a server.

When multiple users use RDP (Remote Desktop Connection) to connect to the server says, those who log after the first connected user (i.e. the user 2, 3, 4... etc) experience a "flicker" of the desktop and applications open close for said flicker when they try to open any application.

So to explain step by step, once connected to the server using the RDP Protocol, the Server Manager application opens (the only application affected by flicker). Suppose I want to open the Task Manager, so I go to the taskbar, do a task manager, right click. Then the box office disappears for a time, including the taskbar and the background, while the application server manager remains open.

This happens for all applications other than the Server Manager.

In addition to this, the first connected user is also affected do not experience the flicker and can run programs as usual.

As far as I can tell that this has happened since the beginning of the installation of windows.

My first guess would be that the explorer.exe is crashing, but I can't really verify the said Task Manager.

I don't have physical access to the server, only a remote connection.

    Everyone knows something like that?

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)
  • Want to access another computer on Windows 7 using Remote Desktop connection

    Dear member of the community,

I have 2 desktops, one with 10 windows and more with windows 7. Now I want remote access to the computer windows 10 windows 7 without logging on the computer windows 10. Kindly, guide me for the same thing.

    Hello Alice,.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

The computers are connected to a domain network?

Thank you for details on the issue.

I also appreciate that fact that you want to access 10 Windows in Windows 7 remotely.

With Remote Desktop connection, you can connect to a computer running Windows from another computer running Windows that is connected to the same network or to the Internet. For example, you can use all of the programs, files, and network resources from your computer on your computer at home, and it's just that you are sitting in front of your computer at work.

To connect to a remote computer that computer must be turned on, it must have a network connection, Remote Desktop must be enabled and you must have access to the network to the remote computer (this could be through the Internet), and you must have permission to connect. To obtain permission to connect, you must be on the list of users. Before you start a connection, it's a good idea to search the name of the computer you are connecting to and to make sure that Remote Desktop connections are allowed through the firewall.

I suggest you use the steps in this article and check if it helps.

We use Windows Vista home and had some problems with what appeared to be malicious software windows or some adware arise. • Windows 7 - stop remote desktop to close?

So we have a computer on which we want to force a desktop connection distance of.

The problem is they can close it as it is and get to the regular Windows 7 desktop.

Install us a box to have almost no accounts and auto-start on the desktop and run the RDP connection.

But if the user log offs, he climbs on Win 7 desktop.

We would like on this particular area to prevent this. So from this computer you start and maintain a RDP, and if you close it, it would be him restart or shut down the local computer, something.

Not sure if it's possible or not at all, but we expect the options a bit.

More or less this particular computer is currently not controllable, due to restrictions of the ram in the system and its already maxed out. (old computer I know)

We have a Setup program runs a computer we want to that they will connect to as he is monitored, with screenshots, logs user activity, and has much better run security threw a 2012 R2 Windows Server handeling all the stuff.

The computer is running Windows 7 Home Premium.

At the start, it starts Windows that is installed locally (not a pxe/vmware/ect) once the dekstop is loaded up, we want to force him to start the RDP connection to 192.168.1.21 and identify yourself.

If the user disconnects, locks, etc., the farm just rdp, we would like to prevent this and do so if you log out or what ever, it just brings back you to the login screen, and if the connection RDP itself is closed, it restarts or force the computer to restart, something to keep them to use the computer regularly without the RDP Protocol such as even suffice to say this computer can connect only to this computer, nothing else, IE without disk hard access, no program, no internet, nothing but a rdp connection option

Any ideas on how to get there or it's going to be something to buy like vmware or something?

  • Client for the Windows 2008 r2 Remote Desktop server

    Hello

I want to install the MS server 2008 r2 by using the terminal service, and I install the forest of 11 g 32 Oracle Client for the client application.

I'm already installed but when I add the ODBC driver, apparently not any selection that associated with ODBC Oracle, is that I need to install the 64 bit of 11g client? It is difficult for me that my program can not be worked on 64-bit client.

And whether the combination is Server 2008 r2 with little 11g Client 64 is the best practice?

    Please help and advise.

    Thank you and best regards.

    Kenneth

drivers for 32-bit client on 64 bits 2008 R2 do not appear in the normal ODBC Administrator window. You must run a clean to the 32-bit ODBC drivers.

    c:\windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

    Try it.

Remote Desktop cannot connect to the remote computer to one of the following reasons:

    (1) remote access to the server is not enabled.

"Remote Desktop connection cannot be installed because your operating system already has a built-in version. See all programs\Accessories\Communications\Remote Desktop connections on your Start menu. »

The Windows XP laptop has a wireless card, so I use a linksys WUSB100 V2. with my WRT610N Linkysys however Windows 7 is mostly on gigabit ethernet with router.
