PROBLEM WITH MY LAPTOP CONFIG AND SYSTEM.

I'm running Windows 7 64, but when I read the configuration of the system, they are all noted 32? Why is this? I bought my Acer Aspire 7750 g with windows 7 64. It has been preloaded. I am VERY confused!

    When you view this file.

If you check through the Task Manager > processes (tab) some will note * 32 because they are native 32-bit applications running on a 64-bit operating system.

  • Search for Windows 7, why not if give me the files that are not yet in my augument search?

Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit OS.

Have a lot of files are duplicated.

In Windows 7 lets say the files in the folder have files that look like:

    Bill 120.le rar
    Bill 121, rar
    Bill 1 .rar

and we want to remove duplicates with '(1) '.
and we enter research * (*)

Under XP it would only list the file: Bill 1 .rar IF you entered *(*.)  or *) * or (1), etc.

    Bill 1 .rar

In Windows 7, since I started to use Win 7 years, everything I do is get frustrited when it will sometimes give me what I ask for the Bill 1 .rar.
but most of the time like now, will give me ALL the files WITH and WITHOUT the "()".

    Bill 120.le rar
    Bill 121, rar
    Bill 1 .rar

WHY?  and how can he give me what I asked?

(I tried ALL the settings and they all do the same thing)

    Enter in the search box:

    name: ~ = "{}"

The ~ = indicates to Windows 7 search to look anywhere in the name.  Usually, the quotes would not be needed, but( ) has a functional use of search for Windows 7, and the quotes tell Windows 7 search just deal with ( ) as a chararacter.  I tried to find a way to search for a (?), after? as a wildcard but couldn't.  [Update: solution concludes, at the end of the post]  However, you can enter this to search for files named with the two ( and ), but not necessarily appearing in the (#) form.

    nom : ~ = "(" nom : ~ = "")" »

    or more compactly,

    nom : (~ = "(" ~ = "")" »)

Update: more than a month later, I realized the more compactly.  Subsequently, the? is interpreted as a wildcard character.  If more digits is possible, then additional search with? exactly two for? for exactly three and so on.

    Name: ~ "* (?) *"

If filename: is used instead, then the tilde is redundant:

    filename: "* (?)" *"

Click Start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it

  • start failing after installing Windows XP firefox 12.0: error message: "the configuration is incorrect."

After clicking on the icon of Firefox, I get the error message "this application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect".

I uninstalled Firefox and deleted all the Mozilla files in my user account in the Documents and Settings folder. I installed the latest version of Java. Then I installed Firefox 12.0.

I had this same problem when I updated my Firefox 11 to a later version of Firefox 11. I hadn't saved the old version of Firefox 11, and I couldn't find on the web, so I went back to Firefox 3.6. I am currently in Firefox 3.6.28.

I'd like suggestions on how I could get over this stumbling block.

Details of the configuration of my system:

    Version Java 6 32

Name of the operating system Microsoft Windows XP Professional

    Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600

    System Type X 86-based PC

    Processor x 86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 6 GenuineIntel ~ 1867 Mhz

    1.38 GB available physical memory

    Total virtual memory 2.00 GB

You can try to uninstall all entries of "Microsoft Visual C++" from the windows control panel and see if the error message disappears.

  • Windows Boot Manager, I want to change the Configuration of hard disk

I have a computer with two former 500 GB Hard Drives.  The "Legacy" operating system is installed on the first physical hard disk in the system and Windows 7 is installed on the second physical hard disk, they are the identical WD drives.  I bought a new Seagate Barracuda 1000 GB drive, I want to use in place of the mark.

    So currently I have:

    SATA-0, score 0: Legacy 500 GB OS

    SATA-5, score 0: 500 GB Windows 7

With the new player, I want to:

    SATA-0, score 0: Legacy 500 GB OS

    SATA-0, Partition 1: 500 GB Windows 7

I have disk imaging software, able to copy both disks to the new partitions on the new disk.  What I want to know is how can ensure me that I continue to get the start menu to see the two operating systems.

Of course, I will still have the old hard disks available, and I can always put them in.  It's just that the cloning process takes a long time, and I would like to have my procedure in advance.  The first time I have start the system with the 1 TB drive, it will not be a disk of 500 Go SATA-5, score 0: in the computer.  I don't know which files must be modified to search for Windows 7 in the new location.

I shouldn't need to do a reinstall of windows.  I think I found the answer to what I was looking elsewhere.

I remember that two years ago, when I set up the Dual boot system, I followed these instructions:

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/8057-dual-boot-installation-Windows-7-XP.html

When I did, I had a dual boot menu:

    -Old Version of Windows

    -Windows 7 Professional

Of course I meant "Windows XP" rather than "earlier Version of Windows.  I searched and found that a tool exists to modify this menu.  I don't remember what they called the tool when I presented this request.  I was pretty sure that the tool would allow me to have the change of start menu where he sought the installation of Windows7.

Today, I found the name of the tool, it is called BCDEDIT. EXE.  It allows you to safely edit the menu file, and startup locations resemble the old file boot.ini of Windows NT days.  Here's what the tool then generates on the command line.

  • Why Adobe can't fix the problem of creation of pdf printing when you get goobledegook

This problem has been around for a long time but a solution meant a lot of lost time. The solution ~ "uncheck the box" option in the print properties "dependent system only, fonts not to use the fonts in the document . I've had problems with printing of the articles in the Wall Street Journal, but other computers of people had not. I hadn't played with my settings and only seemed to have the question the WSJ, but I seem to have to do each time printing to PDF from the WSJ. Why?

Clearly given the type of question and how long it has been around, probably Adobe could at least fix and make my life (and the lives of others) easier. Isn't this one of the reasons that update us Acrobat?

Windows rules are clear. Changes to the configuration of the printer are for this app session only. If you want to make a permanent change, you do it in the same way as all printer drivers, which is from the control panel printers.

Unfortunately, we we have the choice of what some applications don't work with the power off.

ORIGINAL TITLE: cannot update kb2779768 in windows 8

Restore changes made during the configuration to 94%

    Help, please

    Hello

Thank you for your message and give us the opportunity to help you.

Update problems are usually caused by software of third party incompatible or incompatible drivers.

Please answer these questions so that I can better help you.
    1. have you installed any third-party anti-virus software?
2 are you able to install some other updates?
    3. do you get an error message?

    To verify the error,
    (a) press "Windows + R" and type 'control' and press on enter.
    (b) type "Windows Update" in the search box top right and click on "View Update History" based on the results.
    (c) double click on updates failed to display the error.

You can try these methods to check whether the problem is resolved.

Method 1: Run the update utility.
    (a) Type "Troubleshooting" on the splash screen, click on 'Settings' and press ENTER.
    (b) click on "Show all" in the left pane and then click on "Windows Update" and run the troubleshooter.

    Method 2:

Step 1: Temporarily disable the anti virus software.

If you have an anti software antivirus installed, temporarily disable it and check if the update works.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. Windows 8 has an inbuild anti virus called Windows Defender which protects your system.

Step 2: Try to install the update to the clean boot.
Follow the steps here to set up the computer in clean boot mode, and then try to update Windows.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Once the diagnosis is made please follow "step 3: reset the computer to.
Start as usual"on the article to start the computer in normal mode.

Step 3: Try to manually install the KB2779768 in clean boot.

If step 1 does not work, download the update manually and install it.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/download/search.aspx?q=kb2779768

Note: Once the diagnosis is made please follow "step 3: reset the computer to.
Start as usual"on the article to start the computer in normal mode.

    For any future reference.

  • Why programs not marked in the list of windows firewall exceptions are still able to maintain the internet connection?

    Original title: exceptions to firewall

Can someone explain how I have after uncheck the programs in the list of windows firewall exceptions, they are still able to maintain an internet connection? I use XP sp3.

    1. what makes you think that this unnamed programs are still able to maintain an Internet connection?

2 Windows Firewall blocks unsolicited incoming connections.  Thus, for example, if you (or malicious software), set up a FTP server running on your computer, Windows Firewall will block an application from the Internet on your computer that are trying to establish a connection and download some of your files.

However, when your web browser sends a request to a Web site server to load a page, incoming web server traffic is allowed because it's in response to a request made on your computer.

This distinction between the incoming and outgoing traffic is why some people insist that the third-party firewall, which usually block/monitor of traffic in both directions is required.  The scenario is that you inadvertently introduce malware on your computer (in any number of ways), and then the malware "phones home" to establish a link with the bad guys, who continue to do what they want on your computer.

  • Why is upgrade Windows 10 - not Dell Vostro 3550 on the list of Dell?

I found this list on the Dell site that tells you if they tested a particular model for its ability to be upgraded to Windows 10.   The Dell Vostro 3550 is not on the list of 20 Vostro models, some wearing low model numbers, some superiors.   They will never test it?

If you try to upgrade, windows 10 copies files and then in the 2nd of three main sections of the upgrade (where you have this big circle in the middle of the screen), it just goes to a blank screen and then ceases all activity of the disc, and it becomes well hung.   Of course, now the machine think operating system is win 10 and you cannot return to a recovery point 7 win.  If you lost all of your data and applications and restore the image and then install the windows 7 208 updates and it takes like 8 hours total.

Looks like a similar problem that people with Vostro ranging from win 7 to win 8.   Why not fix it.

Also, I fell into the same rabbit hole. But I realized quickly that it was a video problem and I hung on an alternative to the unit's LCD monitor... worked just fine, there has been able to do the update of bio and play with the drivers.
