I read your post about the WiFi problem and wanted to help you! I understand that you have tried the troubleshooting steps a lot already, without success.
Try to review these steps, offered by community member @Great-Christine-Tree:
First of all, we have a step by step guide to guide you through the process of diagnosis here:

Explicit. Test if the problem persists on a wired connection to the adapter hardware troubleshooting wireless can be directed to the appropriate areas.
Test another connection:
Many people excluded their home network as a problem if another device working on the same network. Networking is not as simple as that. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to exclude the settings for this device until the laptop has been tested on another network.
If these steps do not resolve the problem, try this document published by Microsoft for network management issues: wired and wireless network problems. The G7 Pavilion Internet connectivity issues
Help! I'm working on a laptop for a consumer, and I'm stuck hard. The laptop is a G7 Pavilion with Windows 7 64 bit. The machine was given to me under the principle of "The Internet does not work". Properties with wireless and LAN settings say that the laptop is connected and it has Internet access. I can ping outside the machine address and can ping the machine from other devices. It is also a valid ip address according to an ipconfig. However, when you try to pull on a Web site, there is a page "Web site is not found." This happens on IE, Firefox and Chrome. All drivers ethernet drivers, chipset and wireless drivers were uninstalled and reinstalled. They are the latest drivers available on HP website. I even replaced the wireless NIC thinking it's maybe just a bad card. I checked the IPv4 settings and all is good. Think to any DNS problems, I tried using directly the IP to connect to Web pages, but all without success. I'm quite baffled and need advice. Is there BIOS problems that adversely affect this? Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Hey Darken_Rahl,
Hmmmmmmm... interesting.
Are you able to ping to an IP address?
I don't think that you are dealing with a hardware problem, it must be the establishment / OS related.
This really looks like a DNS issue even if IP navigation does not work. You have emptied the DNS? If this isn't the case, please do so now:
- Press Windows Key + R.
- Type cmd , and then click OK.
- Type ipconfig/flushdns and press on enter.
- Test.
Also try these in an elevated command prompt:
- Start.
- Type cmd in the search.
- Right click on cmd/prompt commands and run as administrator.
- Type netsh I I r r and press ENTER.
- Type netsh winsock reset , and press ENTER.
- Restart.
- Test.
Let me know the results of those.

BSOD network, related function for Winsock problem driver-related
I'll give as much detail as possible in order to get the right answer.
I'm working on HP G70 - 463CL with Vista Home Premium 64 - bit.
The problem is that whenever we try to use something that would require a network function, I have a BSOD with the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
This occurs even if I plug in a network cable, try to run a web browser, or right-click on the signal wireless in the bottom task bar. When the computer reboots, I get the "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown' with this information.
Problem event name: BlueScreen
The system version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
LocaleID: 1033More information about the problem:
BCCode: a
BCP1: 0000000000000000
BCP2: 0000000000000002
BCP3: 0000000000000001
BCP4: FFFFF80002228C45
OS version: 6_0_6002
Service Pack: 2_0
Product: 768_1He then lists the minidump file which I do not know how to open it.
I went to HP and download the current network for the WLAN and LAN drivers. (I have uninstall the previous)
I went to Services to see what didn't work and I got these errors when I tried to start them.
The DHCP Client 1.) -Error 1068: the dependency service or group could start. So I clicked on the dependencies and seen that it relies on the "accessory function for Winsock driver" and the "WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto - Discovery Service" depends on DHCP.
TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper 2 properties.) -a had the same message according to the 'related function pilot' and it depends on the NETBT.
I have passed to the command window and tried ping 192.168.1.1, and got the error that transmit failed, error code 1231.
I have also reset IP address and with the command netsh winsock
I went to Device Manager and click on devices show hidden.
Under the pilot no Plug and Play there was a yellow by 'Related function for Winsock driver' symbol when I click Properties, it says under the status it is not working properly or has not all the drivers installed (Code 24).
I also had a yellow symbol of security processor Loader driver and the same information under properties. In searching the Internet, I tried several different things that I found and tried including change something in the registry. At one point I was able to make wireless work and managed to get on the internet and ran Windows Update and downloaded several items. After the reboot, I clicked on an Internet Explorer icon on the screen to come back on the internet and I got the blue screen again.
I ran Malwarebytes and it found nothing.
I uninstalled AVG 8.5 and was going to install a different virus protection and I have a feeling that this is where the problem started.
So if anyone can offer help, I'd appreciate it. I have a feeling that everything hinges on the related function driver but do not know how to reinstall. The hard drive has a recovery partition, but I don't want to reinstall the OS.
There are a few issues, including the duplicate property and lack of records relating to the CPU.
While this can be traced back to file by file, the best way to solve the OS when SFC finds files that it cannot solve is to do a repair of the DVD of the OS installation.

netsh winsock reset Winsock2 repair does not work
I'm working on a gateway MD2614u Laptop with WIndows Vista Edition Home Premium on it.
The customer had problems with the Internet not to come.
After a few tests and diagnostics, we determined that the issue is more than likely with WInsock2 is damaged.
I tried to use the "netsh winsock reset" command prompt as administrator and he says "the system cannot find not the specification of filespecified»
I know that the file is there, then what else could happen.
I scanned the computer with AVG, Spybot, and Malwarebytes Antimalware and 99.9% positive that at the moment there is no infection.
I checked the registry so that Winsock2 is here and it is.
How can I solve this problem for the customer.
Thanks in advance
IKE
Dear Sir
I'm not sure about this problem. But I always have this problem with my lappy & office. And I solve it using the command "netsh winsock reset." I searched this topic and got some information: this error is mainly due to spyware (Vista is probably have such internal configuration that he is taken to the trap by spyware like antivirus) and sometimes the piracy.
Well, try this, you might get the solution:
- Click on the button 'Start '. Click on 'run '. Type the word "cmd" in the Open box. When the BACK screen appears, type "netsh winsock reset." Press "Enter". Type "exit" to close the DOS window and return to Windows.
- Restart the computer. Check whether the problem is resolved. If not, open the Windows registry. Click 'Start' and type 'run '. In the Open box, type "regedit".
- Select "File" from the menu. Click on "export". Choose a location for the registry for export. Name the exported file "backup.reg."
- Choose the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" key Click on the plus sign to expand the key. Click on the 'System' and expand it. Go to "CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock." Right click on the "Winsock" key and select 'delete '. Click 'Yes' to confirm the deletion.
- Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock2." Right click on the "Winsock2" key and delete it. Click 'Yes' to confirm. Exit the registry editor. Find the file "backup.reg" that you exported and save it on a CD or disk. Restart the computer.
- Right click on "My network places" on your desktop. Right-click the network connection icon. Click 'properties '. Click on 'Install', 'Protocol' and 'Add '. Click on "Disk" and enter "c:\windows\inf. Click on 'OK '.
- Choose "Protocol Internet (TCP/IP)" in the list of available protocols. If it does not appear, click 'Start' and choose 'search '. Check the options to search for files system, hidden files and folders and subfolders. Search for the file "nettcpip.inf." Click on "install". Restart the computer.
See if this can help you!
Good luck!!!

Computing: I have a Dell XPS 420 Desktop Computer with wireless capability with a Broadcom 802.11 network adapter g. operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit with Service Pack 1
History: I had my computer since December 2007 and used to access wireless internet with Bellsouth DSL and a Linksys router, and then for the past year, I got paired with a Linksys WRT150N router comcast. I have had no problems to connect to the internet until Verizon Fios has been installed on the Sunday, August 30, 2009.
That said, I tried with a Dell laptop in windows XP and it is connected. I also tried with a mini computer dell laptop running XP and it is also connected. Yet once again, I say that all three of these computers connected to the internet using Linksys and two different ISPS, it was with the switch to verizon that it has lost its ability to connect.Verizon has installed a router wireless Actiontec MI424WR Rev E.
Firmware version: 20.9.0 (this is the most to date version)I can't connect my Dell XPS 420 desktop using a wired LAN connection to the router and establish an internet connection. I'm not able to establish a wireless internet connection. When I try to go wireless, it is said:

What I've tried so far based on reading previous forums discussing this issue.1. completely uninstalled Norton 360, including using the Norton removal tool and by calling the customer service of Norton who has accessed the computer and verified the complete removal.
2 turned off the windows firewall.
3 make sure the Broadcom network adapter driver has been the most up to date.
4. people with disabilities and reinstalled the card network Broadcom.
5 update Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and all other updates installed today.
6 call Verizon Online support - they reset the modem and tried several things like change the "channel". Nothing has worked. They said to contact the computer manufacturer. They have pointed the finger to be a problem with Vista from the computers Windows XP work.
7. called Dell: they tried several things with access to remote and says that it is the problem of the router/ISP.
8. unplug the router several times, waited 5 minutes and plugged in. Has made several rounds of power on the computer as well.
9. changing a registry key according to Microsoft technical support to disable the DHCP Broadcast flag in windows vista (I'm not entirely sure I did correct it because I didn't know what was the GUID) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233
10 disabling IPv6 (by unchecking it)
11 disabling IPv4 (by unchecking it)
12 Ran IPConfig to confirm I have a valid IP address (starts with 192 and is valid I don't know if I should post the full address)
13 fact MSCONFIG with reset winsock
14 changed the settings TCP/IP by netsh int ip reset at the command prompt, and out, and then uupon done restart ncpa.cpl in the start menu and unchecked the tcp/ip v6 Protocol restarted the computer.
15. don't attempt to ping a website - no Exchange packets, error message cannot find the Web site. I tried www.google.com and www.verizon.com
I am at a loss of what I can do to get my computer back operational wireless. Due to the entire office to the top of our House, I would really like this computer on another level and the only way to accomplish that without drilling the holes through the walls that it it works wireless.
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

gain.UPDATE: I rented the "Geek Squad" to come look at my system. The poor guy spent 3 hours going through all stages. Finally a last ditch effort he has installed a new NIC card. Bingo that fixed for some reason any. Apparently, the old NIC card was bad, even if the system was saying that it was good. The old NIC card was allowing him to connect to the router but no internet. He said it was weird, but the problem is SOLVED!

Winsock error: when you try to update of Delta Force: Black Hawk Down for my PC
When I try to update of Delta Force: Black Hawk Down on my PC, I get the following error:
WS_ERR:Unknown Winsock error
When I try to play in multiplayer mode, I get an error that says this page cannot be displayed.
I tried to uninstall the game twice and even re-installed Windows Vista with editioin and custom installation and then update. Anyone know of any way to fix this error?
Any help would be GREAT!
Thanks in advance for you help.
~ A Wayne
A Wayne,
When you reinstalled Windows, have you tried to visit the website of the manufacturer of the system to download the latest WiFi drivers?
If you need help, find the right driver, let me know! Everything I need if the manufacturer and model of your laptop.
You can also try opening the appropriate ports for the game on your router and your firewall software:
http://www.NovaLogic.com/router.aspIf this does not help, try to take the router of the equation and plug it directly into your modem.
Research on this issue, it seems to be only having problems with the game of DF:BHD and seems to be more of a bug with the game itself, but we'll see what we can do!

I'm trying to update a program which is a bit old, using its "web grab updater" when I do, I get the message:
Error: Not a Winsock error
is there a way to get this thing to update or a fix available?
Hello
What changes have been made on your computer before this problem?
What is the program that you are referring to here?
I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the program and then try to update. Since the issue is with a third-party program, I would recommend you to contact publishers and check what they have to say about this error message.

I recently bought the new iPhone 7 more. Not only am I having problems with the LTE service, bounce back between 3 G and no service I am now having problems with call connectivity. When you try to make an outgoing call, I get an automatic response from my carrier (Verizon) "it's Verizon, we are unable to complete your call at this time, please turn off your phone and back and try again."
It is a known issue with the iPhone 7 and Verizon. Supposed to be Apple and Verizon are seeking him. It has been a problem since the phone was released. Do a Google search or search here on the forums for a temporary solution but not a cure. But basically to stop the LTE oice and data into data only in the settings.

iPhone 6 more hang freeze issues
My iPhone 6 more guard suspended (gel) for the past 6 months, I have to reset the whole phone sometimes up to 2 times just to get it to work again. Been a loyal (including my entire family) custome since gen 1 iPhone, iPad, mac book. Am really disappointed with the quality now. Did not bring to the service center since the first day of the problem because I thought that was just a few bugs & was sure that apple will fix it, but after many update of iOS so far, the pesisit still problem.
iPhone is more quality I've known, hope apple can fix this problem before finally losing the most loyal customers
Hello BennyFoo,
Thank you for bringing your iPhone freeze questions here for Apple Support communities. I understand how it is important to have a reliable phone. I'm happy to check this with you.
The first thing we want to make sure that all of your data on your device is safe. You can perform a backup in iCloud or iTunes using this article: backing up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Once your data is safe, try to turn off your device, then again on the March. Sometimes, that's all that is needed for connections reset and everything working properly again. This article help from Apple will help you to do: restart your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. If you are still having issues, try force reset then. It is designed to be used when the iPhone does not respond, and it looks to be the exact symptoms that you are experiencing right now.
If you still experience the same problems after reboot, please try to restore your device from a backup by using this article help: restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup. If you don't have a current backup, please try this help article: If you can not update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Please pay close attention when you get to step 4 who said "when you see the option restore or put to update, choose update. iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without erasing your data. "to get your iOS reinstalled. Test if the issue is still ongoing.
Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.

Pages on issues of formatting to iCloud
Hey everybody,
I created a document Pages using the Pages application on my macbook pro I downloaded then to iCloud Pages so that I can access it from any computer. The issue I'm having is that I formatted some of the text to have a black background and the text to yellow color. For the life of me I can't understand how to change the background color of text on the Pages of iCloud. I beginning to think that changing the background color of text just is not possible on the platform of iCloud, but wanted to put this out there just to make sure.
I appreciate any help or clarification on this issue.
Thank you!
Background (highlight) text color controls are absent in the Pages for iCloud, because it is a subset of Pages for Mac.
This has been discussed in a previous post here, not so long ago.

External hard drive mounting issues on MacOS Sierra
After upgrading to OS Sierra, I found that my USB3 drives, directly connected to my iMac end of 2012, turn off at startup. USB 2 disks are unaffected and connect properly. The only way to access my USB3 disks is to disconnect and reconnect every time I start the computer, then they are ok. I tried to reset the NVRAM, but it did not work. I found Os El Capitan until this issue is resolved.
Do not mount or actually turns out always the system start? It was not clear in your subject line and content later, what was going on.
Are they NTFS formatted drives? See the solutions frequently asked and answered forum if they are.
