Wireless connection is intermittent

My wife has an HP Mini110-1103 with XP SP3. It worked fine for a couple of years, but now, it loses wireless 5 or 6 times per hour. If I click the wireless network icon in the toolbar State to restore the connection reconnects it without my doing anything, or after a break which may last for seconds or minutes, he comes back to life on its own. I did a search for an update of the driver for the Atheros WiFi card. The installed version is 7,7.1, may 2009. Windows cannot find a better. Website update of the HP driver that I found one, the version is 3.0, but date, Sept 09, a little newer than the one that is installed. I am reluctant to play fear has no Internet connection at all.

My connection with my BT home hub wireless keeps defaults to "local access only".   When I contacted BT, they do not have to fix it by using remote access to my computer (I have an ethernet connection that disturbs that works).  They say it must be the fault of VISTA and that it is a common problem with VISTA users.  I have an old Windows XP Home Edition which I use is no longer on the desktop, with which it was supplied.  Should I uninstall my Windows Vista and install the old edition of XP?  Or is there another solution?

    Hello

I have a lot of computers running Vista and they have no problem connecting with wire (I'm not a lucky guy, there are millions more just lucky that I am).

That said, this does not mean that you are not specific to a problem involves the configuration of your computer. But this isn't a general problem as «Vista cannot do well with wireless»

Check the IP address of the wireless card and you will probably find that it is 169.xx.xxx.xx, or another no functional IP.

Your wireless card is probably not really connected to the BT wireless unit and therefore without Internet.  Thus, the people of BT can nothing remotely and shift the burden elsewhere.

I'm not familiar with BT devices. In my neck "in the Woods" all roads wireless also have the ability to connect with a wire.

Then I begin to establish a connection with a wire (it is much simpler than wireless. When everything works as it should you have a frame of reference that help to take care of the radio.

  • Vista's intermittent wireless connectivity

Looks like a connectivity issue between vista and wireless, but I do not know how to troubleshoot/repair. Help, please.

    Hello

Check with the Sony Support, their drivers and documentation online and ask questions in the Sony Forums on well-known
questions. Check also with NetGear support (are you sure it's a Netgear modem? PK5000 sounds like a
Actiontec?). Also check with the help of the internet service provider.

  • Intermittent problems of wireless connection in Windows 7 Ultimate

I recently bought Dell Studio XPS 1645 Windows 7 Ultimate edition. I am facing a frustrating problem with Wi - Fi. The connection is down and reconnect. I have the adapter Intel Wireless 5300 AGN and a router Dlink Wireless G I tried to update the latest drivers from Intel (Driver Version: 13.0.0.107), disabling IPv6 for all network interfaces, configuration of the wireless adapter to only use IPv4 and so on. I have 2 other systems with XP Professional on my home network. As soon as I start my Windows 7 laptop, the chaos begins. The router restarts every few seconds, other disconnected systems and so on. I have not found so far any solution on the internet that could solve this problem.

Other observations that may help to understand my problem:

    1. once my wireless adapter disconnects, the ping my router fails. It tells me whenever my system is asking for a new IP address.

2 Event Viewer displays multiple entries, which indicates that the DHCP could not get an address. The error looks like as follows:

The lease of the IP address 192.168.0.100 to the network with the network 0x00216A934EE2 address card has been refused by the 192.168.0.1 DHCP server (the DHCP server sent a DHCPNACK message).

It gets an IP address later, but I do not understand why my adapter tries several times to get a new address every few seconds.
DHCPNACK is the negative acknowledgement which router returns Win 7 DHCP client. I believe is that the client requests an address that is not available. Why would be client DHCP running on Windows 7 this?

    3. I have a D-Link WBR-1310 wireless router G with the latest firmware. Web sites of the reports that it is compatible with 32 and 64-bit Windows 7.

    4. I see no problems with the wired connection.

As I type this, which could take a few minutes, my wireless connection rolled 7-10 times. All ideas, experts?

If you need more information, let me know.

I was able to find the main cause of intermittent disconnections on wireless interface. According to the information I have collected on internet forums and my research, I did as a result of configuration changes that have stabilized the connection. These settings work when you have N wireless adapter and a B/G Router:

    The wireless adapter settings:

The driver for the most recent driver update.
Access the properties of your adapter wireless network and sharing Center.
Click on "Configure" and select the "Advanced" tab Make sure the following is in place:

1 channel 802.11n for bands of 2.4 and 5.2 width are set to 'Auto '.
    2 disable 802.11n Mode
    3. Ad Hoc channel 802. 11b / g should be 1 or even that you have configured on your router.
    4. Ad hoc QoS Mode, keep WMM disabled - disable the router too. My wireless connection is stable once I made this change.
5 fat Channel intolerant - disabled
    6. mixed mode protection - RTS/CTS enabled
7 roaming aggressiveness - the lowest
    8 flow Enhancement - active
9 transmitting the power - low
    10 mode wireless - 802.11 g

Uncheck the box "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" on the tab "power management."

    Other Configurations:

    1. disable IPv6 completely. Uncheck 'Internet Protocol IPv6' in the wireless connection properties window. Repeat this for every other network connection you have.
    2. make sure you have the latest firmware installed on your wireless router.
3 CTS Mode should be disabled in the configuration of your router 'Advanced Wireless' auto and WMM function.
    4. use only the WEP or WPA Wireless Security. Other methods have problems with 802.11n adapters.
    5. do not disable broadcasting of the SSID of your router. You don't need when your network is secure.

    I hope this helps.

  • Equium L40 - lost wireless connection

I have an Equium L40-156 under Vista and wireless became intermittent. The switch light would go out or maybe turn on at startup. In the end, I did a restore of the entire system from scratch and installed the latest drivers (Realtek) wireless.

This seemed to cure the problem and it has been fine for the last 2 months. However, the light is now out again (it was working an hour ago), and there is no wireless connection.

I tried a restore of the system and also installed the latest driver from Toshiba, but I still can't run. I hesitate to start over again once it takes all day to load programs and updates. Can anyone suggest what I can do or is this another bug of Vista?

I'm having a problem getting the Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN on my HP Pavilion dv7-1275dx to connect to my router (Zyxel P334WT). It would connect intermittently, then disappears for no apparent reason and then refuses to connect for days. I contacted HP support and we spent three hours trying to solve the problem without success. Curiously, when I paste my adapter wireless Netgear WG111v2 USB into the computer, I am able to connect to my network without problem. The computer running Windows Home Vista 64-bit. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Bravo! Thank you!

  • Windows 7 occasionally abandons the wireless connection

I have recently upgraded to Windows 7, but now I'm having a problem with my internet connection.  My wireless signal will intermittently from all five to four bars, and moments later displayed a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside.  At this point, the connection disappeared entirely, and I need to reboot to restore.  Not only that, but the computer turns off as normal, so I held down the power button to stop it.  I know that's not particularly good for my computer, but it pales in comparison to the boredom of an unreliable signal.  Sometimes the signal will last for a few hours at a time, but sometimes I have to restart less than five minutes after turning on my computer in the first place.  Also, when the signal falls this way my computer sometimes has extremely slow (so slow I can't even close the browser window) before freezing altogether.

It seems that this problem is exacerbated when the connection is moving a lot of data... for instance, I recently bought the game Mass Effect on Steam, but when I try to download the connection almost immediately falls.  It's frustrating because I've already paid for the game and I like to be able to install and play.

My wireless network adapter appears in the device like a Linksys RangePlus Wireless USB Network Adapter Manager.  The model number is WUSB100.  I tried updating the driver through the Device Manager, but he seems to think it's common.  I really want a solution to this problem.  Is not the first one I've had since the much-maligned Vista upgrade, which in fact never gave me problems.  I managed to fix the other on mine, but at this point, it's been almost a month since I upgraded and I'm tired of not having a reliable connection.  Thank you very much!

  • Window7 & RaLink 802.11n & problem of the Netgear WPN824v2 router wireless connection

Kevin Hau recommends a new thread to solve individual problems.  It's here.  In February 2010, I bought a new LG X 130 notebook with Windows 7 starter pre-installed.  On the first day, connection Wi - Fi was intermittent, although wired connection works well.  Links for laptop to a Netgear WPN824 V2 router.  This router has a wired to my PC and wireless for Toshiba laptop of my wife.  These work perfectly.  The latter two works on Win 7 Home Premium.

I put WEP as a security measure for the router and wireless connections.  The LG X 130 connect wirelessly from a cold start about 25% of the time.  When it is not connected, no problems.  It should be necessary to restart, otherwise the computer expires then all that I get is "no connection is available" and there is absolutely no way to reconnect.  Cold boot does not work and the computer seems to need to set off for several days before it will condescend to connect again.

Internet gives hundreds of 'my solutions' research which none appear not to work.  All the drivers are up to date and the latest versions.  I tried without security, WPA, WPA2, as some people suggest that 802.11n does not support WEP.  I tried b & g 108Mbps mode rather than by car.  All of these more recent attempts have failed to get any connection. On a recent trip away, the laptop could find the hotel network, but not connect to it.  He made a useful paper weight!

The problem is clearly intermittent.  The laptop was returned twice to LG.  For the first time, they reinstalled everything, got a connection and returned.  The second time, they got a call and returned.  I can get connections, but I can't keep or make it reliable.

    Grateful for a solution.

everything indicates material ralink or driver at this point... here, I had a
    best answer.

    Hello analyst.1,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I understand that you can print from your MacBook Pro to your HP using Ethernet and wireless printer, but not via Bluetooth. I know how it is important to ensure that you can connect to your printer via Bluetooth. I'll be more than happy to help you with this.

Use OS X El Capitan: Add or remove a printerand make sure you have the latest version of the software installed and printer connection instructions, specifically, this section:

    Add a Bluetooth printer

    1. Update your software: choose the Apple menu > App Store, click updates, and then install the listed software updates. Even if no updates appear, this ensures that OS X has the latest information on printing software you can download from Apple. If you don't do this, you see a message that software is not available when you connect your printer.

If you have a printer AirPrint, you have no need to check the software updates.

    2. Prepare your printer: use the instructions that came with your printer to unpack the printer, install the ink or toner and add paper. Turn on the printer and make sure it is not the display of errors.

    3. Connect your printer: follow the instructions that came with your printer to make sure it is ready to connect through Bluetooth. You must also make sure to activate Bluetooth and set up the printer Bluetooth as a new device.

After connecting your printer, if you see a message prompting you to download new software, be sure to download and install it. OS X will automatically use AirPrint if your printer supports.

    Have a great day!

  • How to configure a printer wireless connected to Time Capsule?

I just bought a printer HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M577z MFP Flow. It has capabilities of wireless printing. So far, I was able to connect wirelessly to one of my MacBook Pro computers, but only by having the printer create an Ad - hoc network that allows up to 5 devices to connect to the printer. But that of not what I want because every computer should manually disconnect the Wi - Fi network, connect to the Ad hoc network, the print job and then reconnect to the Wi - Fi network whenever a print job is required. It is very difficult and frustrating.

What I would like is striking is the printer act like a network printer by wireless connection to my Time Capsule. I can't connect the printer to the USB port of time Capsule because they are far away from each other, and I don't want to use cables throughout my place. But I have no idea on how to do it because I can't find this option in the menu of the writer or configuration of the United Nations the HP utility software.

I hope someone here could help me, please. Thank you!

I have an Epson printer, so some of my experiences may or may not apply.

I also have a time Capsule, and my printer and Time Capsule are far apart.

My current configuration looks exactly what you are looking for: a wireless network provided by Time Capsule than all my Apple devices to a wireless connection, and my printer connects to the same wireless network.

When I first bought the Epson printer, I needed to connect it to the Capsule of time via a USB port.  This sounds as if it were true for you as well.  So, for this very short period. I moved the printer via the USB port next to the printer, the connected Time Capsule, made the setup and then the printer recognized my standard wireless network.  I've returned to steady state, which I use now, with the printer and the far (actually on different floors) Time Capsule.

  • 7520 HP loses the wireless connection. What can I do?

I've seen lots of talk about HP products, loss of wireless connection.  I have the same problem with my 7520.  Initial Setup is perfect, but he began to lose the connection when it went into standby mode.  Someone at - it a solution?

    THERE IS A FAST SOLUTION!
On April 18, 2014 (page 11 of this thread), I posted a quick solution. My HP7520 printer has worked on Netgear router WIFI 7550 flawless since then. I suggest you read this post.
From long experience with HP, I found they have great hardware, but their software has always been dismal. The ultimate "fix" would be for HP address their failure of a software that allows to my difficulty in working.
A single "tweak" in the router security settings wifi will do. The rest of settings changes other people have suggested are short lived (about an hour in most cases), while they don't be reconnected unless they restart everything. It makes sense because of what is happening.
The single "twist" parameter should logically point HP programmers to where in the firmware, there is the problem. They listen to? And, really, it doesn't matter on all other settings printer and router. All mine are back to the default settings and it all still works very well.
Go to a BBQ and stop wasting your time on this issue.

  • Very limited wireless connection

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 - 3153ca with a 64-bit windows system 7 and I'm only able to get a wireless connection when the laptop is very close to the modem. Once the laptop is moved, for example, to another floor of the House, the connection is lost and cannot be re established until I have the back next to the modem. He has no problem with the wired connection. This has happened while he was trying to pass my McAfee security provider, although I don't think this is the problem that my other laptop (a Dell) converted without this problem. The other laptop continues to maintain its connection Wireless throughout the House, so the router and the modem is not the issue. I downloaded and re-installed the adapter without modification. I have scanned the laptop and nothing is reported in the mess. Are there any ideas as to why the wireless connection works only when the laptop remains close to the modem? Thank you.

It seems I may not have been very clear in my previous post.  I wanted to suggest was to reverse the connection of the antenna.  As mentioned in the thread I linked, the connections might have been reversed from what they should be from the factory.  If this is the case, then connect the antennas in a factory setting would not solve the problem.

Have you tried to reverse the antennas?  If they are in the deformities, then this would fix it.  If they are in the right position, then the worst you would have (only in the deformities) would drop signal strength.
