• How do you know if there is a compatible with El Capitan printer driver before buying the all-in-one printer?

  My all-in-one printer scanner Canon MX 860 lost the ability to print from the computer, now that I've upgraded to El Capitan. It didn't happen immediately, but now the buttons 'research' went to Canon interface, and the interface of the Apple System. (I spent half a day on troubleshooting, reset and download the drivers from Canon without success.)

  I want to buy a new all-in-one printer... (not Canon, thank you). I need to be sure that there is a 'friendly' pilot El Capitan before I buy and connect my printer. Interfaces for printer drivers are configured to "detect" my printer before the printer list is revealed. I checked Apple's site, but the model numbers are not exactly the same as the units that I compare before you buy.

  I am currently in Singapore where items back isn't something they do unless it is non-functional. You have chosen it, it works, you buy it, it's yours. I need to be sure about the drivers before you have the machine.

  Personally, I use Epson, configured as Airprint and have no problem.

• CS5 with Epson R2400 printer problems

  Win7-64, Photoshop CS5 - 64 and 32, Epson R2400 (DriversEpson Easy Photo Print v1.51 )

  1. CS5 will not print several copies. Can change it in the settings of the printer, makes no difference.
  2. CS5, I cannot change the orientation to landscape. Have to go into the settings of the printer. Will not stick. should it change everytime I want to print the same file.
  3. CS5 will lose the printer. Need to change the printer then change back. "because the printer does not exist" is the error message. (Not even a complete sentence!)
  4. Printer profile will not stick.

  The issue of the copies is a known problem. Sorry about that. But other issues are not things that we saw during the test with these drivers.

• With Canon LBP6000 printer problems.

  Purchased a Canon LBP6000.
  Installed, but gives an error of communication.

  Have you installed the latest driver for the printer after have downloaded you from the Canon Website?

  If Yes, then I'll ask allows you to check with Canon support for further assistance on the issue. It could be a corrupt setting related to the printer when it is connected to this computer.

  I've read through all the messages about printer with El Capitan + Mac problems, but none of the solutions seem to work for me?  I deleted the printer files and reinstalled.  I have reset the printer system.  With the computer has restarted, etc.  It drives me crazy...   This looks more like a bad USB cable or bad printer.

• Printing problem on deskjet 4510 with windows 8.1

  I bought a new deskjet 4510 and have installed via usb on my desktop running windows 8.1. This isn't the impression through products of ms office word, excel etc. and either through wordpad. I can print Notepad files and pdf via adobe reader software.

  I tried HP print and scan doctor who did not find any problem with the printer and print a test page.

  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, setting the printer wireless to the top but could not do print.

  I looked at the help on this forum and also tried selective installation, disabling all services except when starting microsoft services, but the problem remains.

  I understand that you meet your HP Deskjet printing problems in advantage 4510 series e-all-in-one printer to your computer Windows 8.1. You have included a large number of useful information in your post, so thank you. After reviewing the troubleshooting you have already finished, I came to the conclusion that what you feel is a conflict of driver on your computer Windows 8.1. To fix this please follow the steps below.

  How to add another driver:

  1. Open the Start screen (by selecting the windows start button in the lower left corner or by selecting the "Windows" button at the bottom left of your keyboard to the left of the 'Ctrl' key
  2. In the start screen, type "Devices and printers"
  3. If the option devices and printers automatically fills, click settings at the top right and then click on devices and printers.
  4. In the devices and printers folder right click on your series Deskjet 4510 and left click on printer properties
  5. Left click on the Advanced tab
  6. Left-click on new driver
  7. When the new window driver opens just hit 'next' until you see a list of manufacturers on the left and a list of printers on the right.
  8. Select HP as the manufacturer on the left
  9. DeskJet 9800 select the printer on the right. If Deskjet 9800 is only select "Windows Update" at the bottom left and once the update has been completed, you will be able to select Deskjet 9800.
  10. After selecting Deskjet 9800 hit next complete the new driver Wizard
  11. Under the printer properties window, select 'Apply' but do not hit OK
  12. Select the general tab
  13. Rename your printer in HP Deskjet 4510
  14. Click OK
  15. Finally, right-click on your Deskjet 4510 series once more and click on Printing Preferences
  16. Left click on the paper/quality tab
  17. Left click on the dropdown 'Normal' for the print quality down to the right and change its normal fast
  18. Press apply and OK
  19. Try to print!

  I have a Photosmart 6510 new and it is supposed to come with automatic duplex printing.

  I tried two-sided printing and followed the advice of many previous thread, but it did not work.

  I use a version of Mac OS X 10.5.8 and Microsoft Word 2008.

  When I go in the menu in the window print and go to "duplex printing", the ability to print on both sides is grayed out, and he said that paper size and type settings don't support duplex printing. What paper should I choose and where can I do this?

  I had the same problem (same MacOS and all) and just got off the phone with tech support, and together, we found a solution.

  In the print window that opens after you select file > print, select paper handling. Click in the checkbox to select "scale to fit paper size. Allows you to select the Destination format. Select from the drop-down LETTER, then we letter two sides of margins. Now, when you go to double printing, you can click on the checkbox to select print front and back. But before you click on 'Print', save it as a "Preset" so that it is much faster to do the next time!

  It was before mini mac OS El Capitan. But lately, my mac mini showed that the WD My Book was read-only. Then, the WD hard drive disappeared from my finder! Same with Disk Doctor app.
