WLC... WCS... Rental App compatibility

Hello

I am installing a new unified wireless solution and I'm stuck trying to figure out what software is the best to use with all the different devices. I heard that 5.x is real buggy in the WLC unit, so I went with 4.2.176MD (I think) but I have not heard anything with the WCS and the location device. After reading some of the release notes, it seems that I have to go with a version of at least 5.1.64 WCS to be compatible with the version of the location of 5.1.30.0 but I don't know if they all happy well together.

Any help on this would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Yes... This combination will work.

I know this question has been posted before, but I have still questions gain some applications on the android marketplace, because apps claim to not be compatible, even if I know they are. I tried to contact the app publishers to tell them to update their applications to be compatible with the Admiral, but not likely at the moment. I find it alarming that lacks support for this device. Is there anywhere a light at the end of this tunnel?

EDIT: Also, I tried to download the apk files directly and it worked when I was able to find a legitimate file, however it is difficult to find reliable places to get these files and even more difficult to actually find a version to date of applications.

A lot of the time, the developer will have to activate the "compatibility mode" or white list the app.

This has mainly to do with the resolution of the screen.

We do our best here, in support of the Admiral, but also all other Motorola devices that can be found here on the Forums.

I Admiral here with me and will duplicate what you want than I. To confirm issues, or help you step by step.

    I hope this helps.

  • WLC, WCS and WCS Navigator

I would like to know what is the difference between wireless Lan controller and controller wireless system.

I need WLC if I want to deploy WCS.

Can I use WCS without wireless LAN controllers?

What is the diference between WCS and WCS Navigator?

And just to add WCS navigator is used to group multiple instances of WCS. This would serve in a very large deployment (in thousands of controllers).

  • Palm app compatibility with pre

I just upgraded from a Treo to the front and have a password manager application I want to port over, but am not sure if it is compatible with the Pre.  I don't care if that shit on the pre - it worked for me for years (more than 3 smartphones), and I don't want to have to reload all the data inside a new program (now available for the pre password manager is not well discussed).  Is it possible to run old Palm applications on the Meadow?  While I'm at it, I have a couple of games I want to go to the front as well (how can the Pre not having a game of Solitaire?)  Thank you.

Take a look at the Motion Apps ' classic' app.  It's in the App store and a free 7 day trial.  It is a Palm OS forward emulator.

It guarantees all PalmOS apps will work, so be sure to fully test for your 7 days before buying!

  • Rental app run on the Simulator, but not in real device!

    Hello

I made a simple application using GPSDemo in JDE, I get altitude, longitude, latitude... I tried in the Simulator (9000) and it worked perfectly.

But when I put it on my BB (bold 9000), I can't get the location information. I've done some tests and I think it's because the location.isValid () return false!

I checked the settings of the BB and the GPS is activated.

Do you know what is the problem? And what can be the solution ?

Thanks for your help and I apologize if my sentences are strange, I'm French and not very versed in English ^^...

Ok! I found the solution! The problem wasn't my code, it came from the camera. I had update (outdoor) GPS data in the advanced options because it was the first time I tried to use it.

    And now it works perfectly!

  • Storm App is running in compatibility mode

I'm new new Blackberry.  I feel very uncomfortable with RIM JDE 4.5, so I moved the RIM JDE 4.7.

For my first program, I just copied the SVG Pick demo code in my program.  When I build and run, it runs in compatibility mode.

I've searched the knowledge base that says:

    1. If the application is compiled with BlackBerry® development environment (BlackBerry JDE) 4.7 Java or later version, it will not automatically run in compatibility mode. If the application is compiled with an earlier version of BlackBerry JDE, it will run in compatibility mode.

I even checked the jar of my workspace, and it looks like 4.7.  I am at a loss.

Thank you in advance for your help!

I saw that too. In my case it was caused by the first running version 4.5 on the device. The storm decides this app is app "compatibility mode" and will not erase the attribute once it is recompiled under 4.7.

Go to Options / Advanced / Applications and disable the compatibility mode for your application.

  • Cannot transfer the file to WCS 5508 - Code file transfer failed - unknown error - refer to log

    Hi all

This is my first time here posting. I have some difficulty to transfer files to my WCS 5508. My intention is to upgrade to

6.0.196.0 to 7.4. We recently bought 2602i access points and we need to update our controller software so that the controller save the new access points. I also improved the interface controller 7.0.240 WCS software.

However, I have not been successful transfer the file to the controller for the upgrade.

I have tried everything I know:

    * transfer the file of different programs including tftp32d and solarwinds TFTP server

    * transfer the file of different applications such as FileZilla and FTPD FTP server

    * transfer the WCS web interface file

    * running a direct connection to the WLC with a static IP address on the interface

    * verified that there are no interfering firewalls with transfer

    * adjusted times waiting and pads as a result

I get no error message on my software FTP or TFTP, which would indicate something wrong with the applications. I think it is a bug with the controller.

The transfer reachers about 97MB before it fails.

Here are the error messages I get when I run "transfer of debug output all" from the CLI of the controller

Any suggestions? Am I missing something?

Well... Since you're WCS, v7.0.x is the only code that are supported for the WCS.  Look here.

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/wireless/compatibility/matrix/compatibility-matrix.html#18972

So the trick to this is downgrade to v7.0.x and add the WLC WCS and then go to v7.2.121.0.  As long as the WLC is added and is attached to the WCS, you can upgrade.  If the WLC is not attached, you will never get to add with a more recent version of the code.

  • WLC v4.2.112.0 - IDS Signatures - Deauth/Auth and flooding of the Assoc

    Hi all

My apologies if this has already asked. There seems to be several posts with people getting critical alarms and they are due to bugs in Cisco?

    Couple of points.

I am under the above version and I'm getting a lot of IDS Deauth Auth and Assoc alarms on WLCs/WCS.

How can I find out if these are some releated bug or not?

Also, does anyone know how these three and the other signature attack work? IE, a deauth is a number of deauth messages sent to an access point, but how much is sent before the WLC reports on them? That is to say, what are the criteria to generate the IDS alarms. Also for other signature attacks?

It doesn't seem to be too docs on the web?

    Many thx and sincere friendships,

    Ken

    Ken:

It is a region that has been a bit murky documentation. There have been a number of requests for better documentation, but we are still waiting to see.

Surprisingly, one of the best forms of

"documentation" is by examining the signature file wireless IDS which has a few comments and explains how settings work. You can see what a little enlightening.

In addition, when it comes to false alarms, we have seen a number of them in various flavors. Here are a few thoughts:

If you run "containment" or rogue APs, wireless ID system currently interprets its own messages of containment as a false-positive/attack. This is a known bug ( CSCsj06015 ) that says: it is fixed, but to my knowledge continues to be a problem.

Here is a link to the bug:

    http://Tools.Cisco.com/support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCsj06015

Also, when some brands of customers go out of scope, a string of messages disassociation is sent via the Russia Federation to ensure that the RF connection is broken. However, the number of these legitimate trusts sometimes exceeds the allowed value in the signature CODES of Cisco Wireless file and the WLC erroneously interprets as a false positive / attack, whereas in fact, it's a normal approval. The number of detections per second value can be adjusted (in fact, the proposed TAC make some changes here - but this really needs to be better set at the factory to prevent them to ancestral). One of the links below explains the methodology to change wireless IDs. The most recent versions of the WCS/WLC are supposed to allow a change of parameter/GUI based these parameters vs export/edition/download the signature file wireless IDS on/in each WLC.

  • WLSE and WCS

    Help!

I intend implementation of 10-15 s AP in my company. I don't need a lot, but I want a ssid and the ability to walk between access points without losing the connection. The cost is a little problem as well. In my view, there is an area called 2.13 to express the Cisco Wireless LAN Solution. Now this box as terribly cheap. Makes me wonder. Every time I thought a lot about this, I so with the price of the WCS of 25 reviews 4400, 7 times the price upward. Now, I've been Googling my fingers numb, but I can't really know what is distinguished by a wcs and wlse solution. Can I use this box of Cisco Wireless LAN Solution Express 2.13 at little cost only a PoE switch and some radio stations? Or do I have as well a 6500 with a controller wlse switch? because then; the 4400 would be cheaper.

    Appreciate the help,

    \\mark

    Hi Mark,

This is a big topic of discussion! Haha, I hope I can help with some basic information. The two solutions as you watch (WLSE vs WLC/WISN/WCS) are for two different architectures wireless. The WLSE is for 'stand-alone' access points, and the WISN/WLC/WCS are all for "lightweight" access points

The fundamental difference between the two is that autonomous architecture is a distributed design, while the lightweights are centralized. Here are some details:

    AUTONOMOUS

Each access point runs any himself. It must be set up individually for all SSID and VLAN. A WLSE device can be used to manage multiple APs via SNMP, but it's a manual process. A WLSE can also help the management of radio, as the channel design, but it is still a very manual process.

    LIGHT WEIGHT

Access points are not individually configured. They must join a wireless LAN (WLC) controller to operate. They can find the controller automatically, and when they do they download a configuration. They work with the help of the controller. The controller takes the information of all the APs and adjusts dynamically the channels and power radio as needed to optimize the network. The WLC is the only device that you need to manage since it manages all the APs for you.

It's a view VERY high level of the two models. Long story short, stand-alone solutions require usually more work to manage, and lightweight demand less. You are just looking to run 10-15 access points, so a light solution probably won't pay off as it would if you were installing 100 +. This does not mean that you don't have light, but it might not be useful the extra cost.

Once again, very complicated subject and I hope that gives you a better understanding that will help you when Googling. Try Googling light autonomous vs, you'll find some good articles.

  • WCS - model controller

    Hello

I'm new on WCS lil... I upgraded my WCS now to 5.1.64... WCS has already a couple of controllers mapped with about 40 LWAPP...

I see an inconsistency in WLC - WCS configuration, on the model of controller... When I change the configuration of the model on the WCS, it updates the WLC somehow? I am cautious about is I don't want to disturb anything either with the WLC running is, by changing something on the WCS...

I have also 2 new controllers added to the WCS... I need to set controller models for these... Can I directly configure this and associate the new WLC to the new model? Yet once, model controller in WCS will apply to the new WLC?

    Raj,

In this case, you can add new controllers to WCS with RO SNMP community strings. Then go to configure--> controllers and check the box next to one of the controller. From the controls menu select 'discover controller models. This will automatically create WCS models based on the configuration of the controller you selected. Follow the same process for all controllers.

You'd be using community RO, WCS strings would not involve no change. You will now be able to verify correctly.
