Write 12-bit TIFF with LV

I'm trying to help one of my co-workers who needs to write a file TIFF-12 in LV

He thinks he did 8-bit but to the REQ. is 12 bits.

For someone who wants to straighten out me please do.

Thank you!

Ben

PS Tim (Mellowbuck) will respond with more details shortly.

This seems to work... havn't checked the numbers, but they seem to get in and out of the same size.

  • Edition 32-bit TIFF is not possible?

I have a 32-bit tiff file I want to edit, photoshop displays only a black image. Open the levels Panel shows a single peak in the levels of black, white and gray are nonexistent. Open the image in RAW shows an ugly blurry picture, nothing that the original image I know should look like.  I was hoping in PsCC - 2014.2 it would be possible, can anyone shed some light on this problem, thank you!

OK, the file opens without error - but the values in the file is very, very close to zero (+ 0.0002 or almost) and also quite close by default black poster.

Because it is less than 1/255, levels shown as black until you scale a little.

You can change the scale display with the slider at the bottom left of the image window, or view-> 32-bit Preview Options

An exhibition of about + 11 makes visible waves, while negative values will be cut to black.

  • LR 4.3: How to save * existing * Tiff with Zip Compression

    Dear all,

    -J' using LR 4.3 on a windows 7 x 64 PC.

    -J' use a catalog for each wedding/event/shoot.

-J' I import all my images as CR2 or DNG and work with those files in LR and Photoshop CS6.

-Once I finished making changes on a marriage, I find myself with, for example, 300 16-bit uncompressed Tiff images in a dozen different files (I shoot big 600 pax + marriages sometimes).

-I want: Re-save/overwrite all these images as Tiff 8 bit images with ZIP compression.

    How can I do this?

-J' tried to select all images and exporting 8 bit Tiffs Zip with the tab replace originals without selected warning. However I get the error that the file already exists and LR can do nothing about it.

-J' tried to create an Action in Photoshop, but there are two problems: 1) photos are spread over several files and selecting each via file > batch > controller means the process requires manual intervention to reselect TIFF of the next file - I want to hit the action, go to lunch and come back to find ALL registered. (2) the action is outside the LR and I would like rather to avoid mistakes of "metadata has changed outside ' even though this is not really a biggie.

Why not just save the images as TIFF Zip initially? I use a number of freelance retouchers, many complain that the compression process slows down their workflow initial (slower material).

I would be very grateful for any ideas.

(and yes - the space is considerable, there where I live the memory is still not cheap enough!)

    Thanks in advance...

Have you determined the steps you want for a single photo in Photoshop?

You have an action of these steps that does what you want in a folder?

It would be wise to leave things as a 16 - bit where the layer blending options change too, but you can confirm one way or the other by testing with a complicated overlay of the edges carefully to feather situation and make sure that nothing looks bad after you convert to 8-bit.

It seems it would work to use Bridge to select the whole lot of hair in a marriage to compress and eventually convert to 8-bit.  With the help of your file (s) example:

Bridge point to the Jack and Jill marriage file, set the view to display items in subfolders, define the filtering in TIF, leave the bridge find all hair and then do a Select All on them and choose tools / Photoshop / lot... then indicate your photo-simple action and make sure that the source is bridge and whatever other parameters are required and let it go.

You would like to experiment and perfect your batch processing on a copy of the records so it wouldn't destroy the real business until you were sure it was working.  It is possible that some thing would not work because you substitute on top of photos or make several subfolders or something else - I'm not much of an expert of action PS, but it should be relatively easy to check if it would work or not.

  • 64 bit sytem with vista home premium which has been randomly locking up and freezing. The error is event 6008.

I have an ACER aspire x 3200 64 bit sytem with vista home premium which has been randomly locking up and freezing. The only mistakes were event 6008 with a description of the stop system prior to (time) on (date) was not planned.
When these errors originally occurred, I returned the system to acer and they installed a new hard drive. After updating the vista system blockages continue 30 times over a period of 3 months. Acer sent me a new disk image on 3 disks that I have installed and updated on 11 October. There is no blocking until the 10/27, 10/28, and for the 3rd time today.
The closed unexpected gives a blue screen if I use the locking system to the top. I have to hold the power to restart when the system crashes.
Can someone help me solve this problem?

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.  But I guess it's too late for this for so long that there are probably no so old restore points.

If the system restore does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not work, try to start in safe mode (repeatedly hit F8 key so that the start and go in safe mode with networking).  Then we will check some of your system files:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to solve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a cause.

If this does not work, then please post repetitive errors in Event Viewer on the stop (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / Event Viewer).  Here's how to use Event Viewer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html.  From what I understand, there is none of the events (which surprises me because a freeze should certainly generate an error event).

If this does not work, you will need to do a repair/system upgrade using the Windows Vista Installation disc authentic (you own or that you can borrow from someone).  Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html as well as the upgrade from an earlier version of the Windows section of the following: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918884.  Although this will not affect your data, settings or programs, you should always back up your data before you start just be on the safe side. If other procedures do not work, it is almost certain to work (but you NEED a disc).  You can have a lot of updates to re - install (including all you need to remove service packs).  If the version on system with SP1 or SP2 preinstalled cane and the disc is an earlier version, then you will need to do a slipstream drive as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/151606-vista-sp1-slipstream-installation-dvd.html.

I hope one of these procedures can solve your problem.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try something else.  Return message anyway so we know how it turns out.

    Good luck!

  • opening of 32 bit TIFF in camera raw (or not...)

I followed tutorials on creating HDR images in photoshop using the 32-bit function.

Once I created the 32-bit image and saved as a Tiff file. Then, I'm going to bridge and made sure that the preferences of camera raw are defined to allow suppoprted TIFFs. But I can't open this image in camera raw, it just opens in photoshop...

In the turorials, I realized this doesn't seem to be one problem for others, why it will work for me?

    Sudarshan,

    Thanks for your reply.

I managed to fix this now. I recently downloaded photoshop and so assumed it was the more up-to-date version. However it was not the case, as I had camera raw 7.0 is installed. I have this update to the latest version and itself has this problem, I can now change the 32-bit TIFF in camera raw.

  • Photoshop elements 11 allows 16-bit tiff files?

Are all the functions of the elements can be used with 16 bit 11 tiff files, or do need to be converted to 8-bit as 10?

    Hi Glowell2,

I believe you can open 16-bit files in PSE11. However, before performing certain operations on 16-bit files, PSE11 will ask you if he could downsample your 8-bit file to continue working on it. That answer your question?

    See you soon,.

  • 16-bit Tiff and PSD previews in Bridge is not displayed correctly

Large multi layers files Tiff, PSD and PSB with alpha channels, masks and layers, etc. do not show previews for the bridge (or Windows for that matter). Many of them are very large 2-4GB, but even a typical 30-60MB file with some alpha channels and masks are also problematic with previews.  I think that the problem arises especially when the base images 16-bit ar since the version 8 bits correctly show most of the time.

    It's a question that has a cure?

    Thank you

    Doug has

    Photoshop CS5, Windows 7, 64 bit.

Check your thumbnail option in bridge prefs... you will need for the parameters ' Do not process files su-ERS to '... Mind you, it'll take a while to rasterize these large previews so take a cup of java while the bridge made the calculations...

  • 32-bit TIFF import problem

I have files from another application that are 1 million pixels with a depth of 32 bits/pixel. Photoshop indicates that the number of bits is not supported when it is trying to read, but I know that the program can work with 32 bits/pixel images. I want to make sure that I do not lose data on the way, so convert to 16-bit is not an option. I'm under that CS4 extended on Max OSX 10.6.4 with 4 GB of ram.

Readings of Photoshop 32 and 64-bit/channel floating point TIFF very well.

Your software might be 32 bits/channel integer format of writing, that Photoshop can't read.

  • HP HDX Windows Vista 64 bit laptop with error 1002 of the recovery process

    Hello

I have laptop HP HDX which had a sound problem with message of error "Could not play the test tone", tried in several ways by online suggestions and ended to reinstall the new copy with recovery disk. As part of the recovery with a reovery of HP drive, I tried to get it back and it formatted boot partiion and got this error message "error 1002 if the problem persists, please contact HP support. My laptop is out of warranty now.  I talked to HP support and they ask me to buy new drives recovery and someone in this forum mentioned that recovery disk will lift the same mistake and we would need to purchase technical support and even that has not worked for soembody after paying $ 200 to support. I am struck with recovery of the laptop now. I also tried the recovery partition revovering and gave rise to no luck.  I'm now out of warranty.

I am really fedup with bearing on my this laptop windows vista 64 bit HP HDX laptop problems. What is your best suggestion for me to recover my windows vista now?

    Thank you.

    GK

I ordered the drive to restore HP for $ 16 and I have no problem in my OS with this disk recovery. Recovery partition that came with my laptop had this error 1002 and he really tortured than me. It is recovered successfully with this new disc of recovery with on all issues.

I would have saved a lot of time, would not have had any stress and restore ($16) if HP disks price had built the free bug recovery partition.

I'll be very careful in buying HP products in the future.

    Peace out.
