WRT110

Hello

I just bought a new router (WRT110) RangePlus and has configured as shown. When the installation process has declared that it could detect the connection to the router, I found these forums. Since then, I've updated the firmware and it still does not detect it. Once I updated the firmware of the 'reserved' light exploded.

However, the computer can still get on the internet and cannot therefore my computer wireless (without a secure connection). I was wondering what I need to do so that the router can be installed on my computer. Or if it is not important, how can I make sure that my connection is secure?

It seems that you are upward and the operation very well through your router.  If you use Linksys Advisor to check your connection, it works or it doesn't.  I do not use it and it is not necessary for anything whatsoever.

The security of your router can be found by reading here.

I use linksys router wrt110 to connect to internet. I use a latitude e6400 laptop running windows 7 pro. When I start the computer, sometimes it will connect to the home network, and sometimes it will connect to the public unidentified network. When it connects to the unidentified network, it will be about 5 to 10 minutes to connect to the internet.

I'm trying to figure out how to do it connect to home network all the time.

    any help would be appreciated

Yes, these settings are also necessary for the WRT110.

  • Password WIFI WRT110 problem

    Hello world

I have a very strange problem.  First of all, I told chapter of wireless security WPA and typed in my password.  However what connection in my name of the wireless network of my password never worked.  Second, I completely disabled security and tried to just connect without any password, but I was still asked a password however.  I checked and checked and saved the settings by ensuring that security has been turned off, but I was still asked for a password when choosing my wireless network!

I could probably restore my WRT110 to factory settings, but I don't want to lose the other configurations as some open ports and IP addresses, that I opened for the firewall.

Is it possible for me to fix my WiFI password problem without restore factory default?  I just need to understand how to operate the the WiFi passpharse.  Here's what I have here:

    Security mode: WPA Personal

    Encryption: TKIP

    Password: 0sunspot0

    The key renewal: 3600 seconds

However, when I get my wireless network and try to connect by typing in 0sunspot0, I get an authentication failure.

    I'm doing something wrong?

    Thank you

    Victor.

Save all your settings, so you can restore them after a reset.  Remove the password completely and try to connect without password.  If successful, go back and add WPA2-AES with a new password without special characters.   No test.  If no joy, hard, reset the router and restore it from your back upward and try again.

  • Degradation of internet WRT110

I have a PC and a laptop (the two valleys on Vista).  The PC is connected to to the WRT110 and the laptop is wireless.  Provider is Time Warner (Kansas City).  When I do a speed test on computers (through the router), it is generally between 3.5 and 5.0.  I called Time Warner and at the suggestion of the technology on the phone, I unplugged the connection of the cable to the router and directly to the PC.  When I ran the same test of speed, she came significantly closer to the announced 7 MB.  He did not go with the laptop, but guess I would get the same results.

    http://www.Speedtest.net/result/626291619.PNG

It's my first router wireless, so my question is... is this normal for a router to degrade an internet connection so significantly?  I expect that the mobile wireless can be a bit slow, but I was stunned (and frankly, quite irritated) that the PC wired directly to the router is affected.  Any ideas?  Thank you!  Jason

You won't get the same exact speed of the router... that you are getting the modem because the router is somehow a firewall.

Although try the following settings on the router...

    -Change the MTU to 1300.

-Change the band Radio of Standard - 20 MHz and the Standard 11 - 2, 462 GHz channel.

-Uncheck the box filter anonymous Internet requests on the Security tab.

-The tab settings of Advance Wireless... Change the interval of tag to 75.

Keep updated on the router firmware. You can download the latest firmware from www.linksys.com/downloads.On configuration page, click on the Administration tab, update the firmware.

  • My WRT110 slows down gradually over time. Why?

I noticed that my internet download speed became slow.  I tried using SpeakEasy and the speed of Comcast tested and found my upload and download speeds to be both less than 2 MB.  In the tests, I disconnected my WRT110 RangePlus Wireless Router and connected directly to the Comcast RCA modem.  I raised the speed races and got 21MB down and 4.4 upwards on two speed test sites.  I then be able to reset the WRT110 then reconnected to it.  So I ran the tests of speed and their return the same 21Mo down and 4.4 upward.  I came home a day later and tested and my download speed is 8 MB.  I came back today and it was 5MB.  I connected directly to the modem Comcast and returned to 22 MB down speed.  I then be able to reset the WRT110 and reconnected it and speeds were down to 22MB.  I have run this test twice over a period of days and got the same defacement of speed over time.  What could cause this?

I think you can try to upgrade/re-flash the firmware on your router.

Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable. Download the latest firmware from the site Web of Linksys. Open the router configuration page and update the firmware on your router.

After upgrading the firmware of your router, it is recommended that you must reset the router and reconfigure. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure.

  • WRT110 suddenly stopped working

A few days ago I noticed that my wireless internet on my iPhone would cut in and out, and then stopped all together. I also had no connection on my mac which is connected to the WRT110. I bypassed the WRT110 and then I got a connection on my Mac which means the WRT110 is the problem. I have not changed or added lately everything that might have caused this... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Who is your ISP? What modem do you use? You have to work on computers? Or each of them does not?

  • WRT110 and VoIP quality

I have Vonage Linksys (PAP2) adapter attached to a WRT110 RangePlus Wireless Router. Firmware on the router upgraded to 1.0.05 build 3.  Incoming voice quality is clean and clear.  Outgoing voice quality is jerky. Nothing other than on the local network VoIP.  Tested late package with and without the router online.  Without router, round-trip delay (100 pings to Vonage external server on the Internet) on average less 90ms.  With WRT110 online, around tripping delay 200 ms on average.   The > 200ms delay is after you disable the SPI firewall and QoS and setting DMZ destination with the MAC address of the adapter Linksys of Vonage.

I also tried the AT & T_Cisco MicroCell connected to router Linksys WRT110 RangePlus.  Same router, same problem.  Quality of VoIP CMF (phone Moble to MicroCell of Linksys WRT110) outgoing is choppy.

    Any suggestions?

Try reducing the MTU value to 1300 on the configuration page of the router and the router power cycle... Now, check.

  • WRT110 problems of Internet

I can connect to the network very well. I called tech support and they suggested to change the default IP address to 192.168.2.1, then after I pedaled power the router settings remained but I can't get internet now. I could at the time, after the tech support told me to change it to 2. I tried to change it 192.168.3.1 but no results. The router has the internet icon lit up. The Adviser also said that it is connected to the internet. Is someone can you please help me understand this!

    (1) you have a modem with your system?  (some systems do not have a visible modem)  Most of the users have a modem, which is a small box about the size of the WRT110 (or maybe a little smaller).  The modem has lights on it.   The modem was generally a "DSL" (which comes from the phone company) or 'cable' (which comes from the cable company.  If connections usually look like this:

Taken wall DSL or cable connection - computer modem - WRT110.

    (2) is this appearance of your system?   If so, look at the modem.  It should be brand and model on it somewhere, usually on the bottom or the rear of the unit.  Please post this info.

    (3) also, when I look at the second post ipconfig, it still seems that you connect your computer to the WRT110.  Please connect the computer directly to the modem and redone the ipconfig test and view the results.

  • WRT110 - cannot access a modem or router

I bought WRT110 about 1 week ago and it was working OK (not the best), but it was satisfying.  There are 2 laptops at home trying to access this router. I loaded the cd on the main laptop and the other will link also, but sometimes there are issues where the two, we cannot be on at the same time or 1 will fall on the other. Yesterday after that just the laptop main was online, the connection has been lost so I called technical support Linysys. the tech had me reset the router and change the ip address of the router and now I can't get on the internet even if I connect directly to the modem. the other pc will connect using the modem so that we know it is not a dsl.  I tried to uninstall linksys to my laptop and reinstall the cd but when I get to step 4 does not even recognize the router. What's wrong???

Do not use the installation disk to install your router, rather that:

If your Internet Service is cable follow this
If your Internet Service is DSL follow this

Me and my friend have two windows7 installed on our computers.

If one connects to the internet via a WRT110 wireless router it goes without any problems.

But if we both try to connect to the internet at the same time, it does not connect.

You can try the upgrade/flashing the firmware on the router... Download the firmware from www.linksys.com/downloads and save it on the desktop... Opening of session in the Linksys GUI and click on the Administration tab... Click on the "firmware upgrade" sub-tab and choose the correct .bin file... click on upgrade... • With the firmware.05 router WRT110

OK, here's my problem and I searched the forum and I see that others have the same problem with the firmware.05.  before we begin, I want everyone to know that I don't know how to set up my network and I am a professional network.

My problem is on my xbox 360 with the Wireless N adapter.  I use to have the firmware.02 installed on my router and sometimes while on my xbox, I'd get a message telling me that the xbox live connection has been lost. I would then have to resign in xbox live and it would start working again, so I thought that the router might need a firmware flash, after searching the site of linksys, I could find the firmware.05.  I installed it and the installation went well, after that I installed it I reset my router by pressing the button on the back of it. I then reset all my IP addresses and port forwarding and the WPA key. Then, I put the router in mixed mode because I still G wireless devices to connect to my network like my android phones and my laptop, so that all the devices are now connected very well.  I then go to my xbox and put everything up, static IP address, manual settings for DNS. and guess what it does not allow me to connect to xbox live. I then start to do some research and find out that I'm not the only one with this problem. so I find a few posts on here say to change the MTU to manual and put in a number, I don't remember the number but I did exactly that.  then I tried to connect again and guess what xbox live still does not connect. so I do some research to see if I have the correct ports passed to my xbox and guess what I got all the correct ports forwarded. so I do some research more and found a post by someone who said that they changed the router Wireless N mode only and they said it worked for them, so I try and guess what it works very well. I even put the MTU back to automotive and it still works, I also tested with the xbox set to auto automatic DNS and IP address and it still works. but then as soon as I switch the router in mixed mode, it will not connect. It's definitely a problem with the firmware.05, so please if someone at - he found a fix for this issue allow the router to run in mixed mode and still have the xbox connect please let me know what it is. and please don't try to tell me to change my DNS in the xbox 4.2.2.2 and 192.168.1.1.  and please don't try to tell me to set the ip address of my xbox to 192.168.1.20 because my i put my IP from 192.168.2.1. I need a fix that works, or tell me how to return to the firmware.02

to anyone who is having these problems with this router wrt110 with the firmware.05 I flashed my router for the firmware.02 and everything works again, I can run in mixed mode and my xbox connects, and all my computers and phones connect. If someone wants the firmware.02 you can d/l here.this will probably get removed by the mods here but here goes

  • Internet slow since I hung wrt110

Hi, everyone I am new here so just wanted to say wats up.  Now the problem.

I just got a wrt110 rangeplus router as a gift, I plugged it into thinking he was going to make my faster internet than its a router N instead of G, then my internet slow super ACE.  I have two computers configuration, both connect wireless but super slow I have wrt54g that works much better than I thought it would be the other wat autour.  Is there something Im doing wrong or something is set up wrong?  Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

  • Don't I have the latest Firmware for WRT110?

I just bought and installed the WRT110 and I was wondering if I have the latest firmware. I show the version 1.0.04)is build 10 in routers administration page.

Also, I would like to know if I have security measures in place for my network. I am 'new' for wireless routers, but I used a wired Linksys router with two computers on the network. Now my wife has added his MacBook to the mix, so I thought I would try a wireless router. The other two systems will remain wired for now.

    So far I have:

    Compatible WPA - 2

    SPI enabled

    NAT enabled

MAC enabled filtering and only authorized wireless computers MAC address

    Changed default SSID

    Default password changed

What else should I consider for this set - up?

    Thank you

    Paul

You should not loacte the router near the LCD monitor also or other computer equipment or speakers...

    To disable the SSID broadcast-

Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press ENTER... Let the empty user name & password use admin lowercase...
Click the Wireless tab, select Disable SSID broadcast...

Disabling the SSID broadcast prevents your network to appear in the list of available wireless networks, but it is still present...

Note that disabling SSID broadcast is one of the many techniques of tightening of security on a Wi - Fi network. This technique is not 100% effective, because hackers can still detect the SSID sniffing different messages in the Wi - Fi Protocol. Yet, using techniques as the disable broadcast SSID makes it more likely that any intruder it will move your home network who seek easier targets elsewhere.
