WRT160N router wireless and speed Test

Hello

I was wondering if someone could help me.  I've just changed in the old Netgear G router to a router cisco Linksys N.  When I'm connected wireless sitting next to the modem and the router of my speed test shows more than 20 on the download, but when I go up a floor in the House it drops at least 2 on the download.  I thought that this router was supposed to expand the range and allow more devices to connect wireless taken less bandwidth.  Is there something I can do to improve the speed in addition to spending my router wireless on the main floor where is most of the navigation on the internet?

Hahahaha WOW no no not the router to the modem worked!  I went from 1.5 on 15 on downloading downloading when I had about one foot apart from each other!  Awesome.  I have not been very high over the years!

You must configure your printer to recognize your new router.

I can connect to a wired router and print. But can't do wireless?

Given what you have... Yes - no idea.

If your Windows Vista-based computer has a network inside wireless device and it has the correct driver and software installed and that you have configured the router (if you know the settings) then sees the network wireless on the Windows Vista machine and can configure to match how you have configured the router - there is no reason that you should not be able to connect to the site because you are in-Beach/without any noise between yourself and the router other than equipment of poor quality or poor quality software.

  • FTP with WRT160N router wireless problem

I upgraded my router WRT54G, a little back and ever since then, I can't get my (CuteFTP 7.0) FTP software to work.

I didn't change anything with the FTP software. The change ONLY on my system is the new router.

Is there some sort of setting I need to change so that he could afford to FTP?

OK - so I fixed it. I think that there is something more big wrong with my router at first. The night last wired connection to my wife worked very well and today he was completely dead. In fact, since I updated the firmware on the router about a month ago, his internet connection was for crap.

I hooked the computer directly to the cable modem and it worked perfectly.

So this morning, I bought a WRT54G2 - just hung and EVERYTHING worked from the outset - including my FTP software.

My suggestion for buyers... avoid the 160N. I'm bummed I wasted $100ish on mine only to get the 2.5 use PITA.

  • WRT160N V3 wired and wireless speeds are reduced

I'm runing Windows 7 64 bit on all my machines. I get 50 + MB/s when connected directly to the ethernet jack. I added a WRT160N V3 (refurb) of 3.0.02 firmware and all my gear now peak at 20 MB/s, the two cables to the router wireless and more. Network and internet work well, just weird half my flow is gone. What gives? For wireline areas, this seems unreasonable.

I tried a few settings setting I found research, including disable Ipv6, but nothing has changed.

Because you tried to connect directly to the router and continue 20 MB/s speed, you must update the firmware, or if you already have the most recent, re-flash.

  • Modem router Wireless N upgrade?

I have a Linksys BEFCMU10 ver.2 modem which has served us for about 8 years.  I've recently updated our wireless n router, but have seen no improvement in the coverage area or speed.  The seller in Microcenter told me that my current modem was fine, but I wonder if I need to improve my modem to take advantage of the N WiFi feature.  Another thing, I remember when the tech our cable connected to the modem, it added a 10/100 switch.  Can it be purchased?  The research I did on the forums, it seems that I need a compatible 10/100/1000 switch for the gigabit speed.

I apologize for the basic questions, but I tell myself that if I want to learn I have well start somewhere

    Thank you!

It is not question of cause I don't think you have 100Mpbs subscription from your ISP. This modem is good for home use. You will get your your router Wireless N speed and that's only within your local network.

  • WRT160N-Wired con. 26MPS router, Wireless is 2MPS with Wireless-N. Why drop in speed?

I have a desktop connected directly to the router and get downloads 26MPS. Wireless laptop is only 2 deputies.  It comes to Wireless N.  Any ideas?

So I think that you need to update / re-flashing the firmware on your router. Go to the Web site template linksysbycisco.com/downloads...insert of your router in search tab... select the correct version of your router... Download the firmware file... save this file on the desktop

Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware of the device: -.

Open a page in Internet Explorer browser on a computer hard wired to the router... In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1... Leave name empty username & password admin lowercase usage...
Click the 'Administration' tab - then click on the 'Upgrade Firmware' under the tab-here, click on 'Browse' and navigate the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait a few seconds until it shows that "the update is successful," after the upgrade of the firmware, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned to the same page OR it will say 'cannot display the Page.

    Now reset your router:
Press and hold the button of reset for 30 seconds... Release the reset button... Unplug the power cable from your router, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cable... Now re - configure your router...

  • Ookla speed test, router, there is a problem with Flash Player

I use Dell laptop, running Windows 7, IE11 browsers with Chrome. The router I have is a Linksys AE6900, with built in functionality of Ookla speed test,.

who has recently stopped working. It comes to getting the error message:

FireShot Screen Capture #008 - Linksys Smart Wi-Fi - linksyssmartwifi_com_ui_1_0_99_161129_dynamic_home_html (640x303).jpgSo, I'm not sure if it's a close routerelp, or a Flash Player problem. Anyone

browser is used, both use the most recent version. Flash is automatically updated in Chrome, and the version of IE is 20.0.0.306. The thing that makes

I wonder if maybe it's the latest version of Flash is, after this started, I had to do a restore of the system image of a six-month-old system. Before that I just could not

update it worked until the Flash has been updated. Although the same test on both the site on the site from my ISP and Ookla continued to work throughout. I do not use

Active X filters, but I block third party cookies. That shouldn't make a difference on my router because it uses a secure connection, and basically my own IP address.

This is a wireless connection, but I'm also wireless when visiting other teams as well. Oh, I also tried to reinstall Flash and so the router software.

I could try to install a version archived Flash, even though I'm bit of a stickler on security. Then, someone has suggestions of troubleshooting, which can

help refine it? Or should I wait for when the next version comes out and see if it works then? Thanks to the one who fixed the time to read this long question.

Looks like you have probably installed Flash, but the Web page is not detect Flash Player.  It doesn't really surprise me to IE11, but it is hardly surprising for Chrome.  My guess is that Chrome is blocking an approach using the router for security reasons guys.

You use an adblocker or the plugin anti-tracking?  If so, you could try to disable them temporarily.  Something that blocks Flash or JavaScript arbitrarily may cause this.

If you have not installed an update of the firmware on your router for a while, I would start there.  Linksys may have fixed on their end.  Otherwise, you might be out of luck.  The landscape of security requires that we (like browser vendors and the Flash) move to a more strict set security policies, web technologies, and which does not always leave room for backward compatibility.

While we could spend time trying to identify the root causes of the problem, it is cooked to your router, so is the only way to fix is via a Linksys firmware update.  If it is not fixed in the latest firmware, it's probably easier to just give her to use http://www.speedtest.net/ directly... and if it works, you have a pretty decent confirmation that Flash behaves as expected.

  • Encryption advice please WRT160N router/gateway/modem wireless

I would like clarification on security and encryption please.

I have a WRT160N router/gateway/modem wireless with WPA security is enabled.  I have a wired office with LELA installed and a wireless laptop.  A key is required when connecting the laptop but on page properties in LELA, it says "wireless encryption - no ' is this extra encryption in addition to the security theWPA. WH n I try to enable it, LELA asks the password admin but after entering that does nothing (except once again ask!)  What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you

That your network is already reached, but him dosent software LELA display you something on your safety. This means that the LELA was not able to properly synchronize with the router and its wireless settings. So in this case, you do not have to worry about this, if you want you can uninstall and reinstall the LELA software on your computer, that might solve the problem. Or of another Complitely uninstall LELA software from your computer.

  • HP Pro Plus 6800: error 0 x, 00000057 wireless and wireless Direct properties of the Windows Control Panel printer - print a Test Page

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite of Win7 64 bit and a HP 8600 Pro Plus,
update firmware and drivers about 2 weeks for the 8600 was a
a long time I have been updated, which is connected wireless has decided to
Direct to print Wireless Setup once the program installation, I tried to do a windows
Print the Test Page in the printer property Panel, somewhat normal for
    set up a printer

Under the connection of the conciergerie, I got the error message 0 x 00000057
Under wireless direct printing, I got the same error 0 x 00000057

After spending the time to check the settings, connections and asking
Why? I decided to see that if I could print the docs, I print a PDF file,
Notepad and Word documents in each application under the two
    configurations without problem.

Under the wireless connection, I started the Web Services module
and was able to make the impression within the Web Services Test page
module without problem could not yet do the printing Test Page
    in the printer properties panel.

I ran Print and Scan doctor who, to my surprise mentioned
a conflict of Driver, I welcomed this program to uninstall the driver,
went looking upward for the driver and the same driver was so done
No download but to remove the driver and reinstalled the driver.
    Always error message here.

I'm now tempted to delete a direct print wireless and see
What happens if the error disappears, if she does not unstall all
associated with the printer and do a clean reinstall. In case of emergency
is there an alternative to the use of the Web Service module to the setting
When not connected to the wireless network?

I think that the Panel of the printer would do this (I'll watch this later

spend enough time on it), or do I need to run Web Services to

direct wireless installation, just think about this, otherwise I'll shoot

a usb cable.  Maybe if I install Direct wireless on the printer control panel

the message will disappear as the installation of the printer program, not software

    on the laptop?

It is a minor problem since I can still print but question why!

See other issues about this error message I thought

spend my experience with this error.

Always had a number of things to think and try, once again.

If your getting this error message I would suggest trying a test page printed

within the module of Web Service to see if the message developed.

Could not back the driver so I removed the printer driver

    by deleting.

    19/07/2011 Date print driver
    Print driver version 26.0.0.0

disable the wireless module directly on the printer to reinstall from the CD.

Reinstalled printer/software form the CD supplied with the printer, the

    Driver date is 08/12/2009 Ver.9.0.0

    No more error in configuration.

is the answer to the error message 0 x 00000057 or 0x00000xx

associated with the driver? Or just the 0 x 00000057?

Could not find a list of drivers between the driver and

    the driver on the CD.

Will not update the driver for a good while or until I have too.

The dates on the drivers are only about two years apart, the

my router wireless guard Plug and go offline.unplug and it works again

Contact the technical support of the manufacturer of the router.

  • Wireless and wired router, DHCP and "visibility".

Okay, it's a bit complicated, but I'll explain better than I can.

I have a wired Linksys RV082 router. It works very well but is not wireless.  I have a Cisco/Linksys E2500 wireless router for my wireless devices to use.  the RV082 is the network of 192.168.1.x. The E2500 is the network of 192.168.0.x.  Cable Internet goes to the RV082 Wired, and a line out from there to the wireless router.  This all works fine except for a few disadvantages.

I have an iPad that connects wireless and some of the apps offer a http:// option, so I can transfer files to this application.  I also have a network printer connected to wired and wireless devices do not.

    I have 2 problems:

    (1) in order to transfer files from my laptop (that I hung on the cable network most of the time), I disconnect the wire, wireless, then I can transfer files.  Œuvres, but it's embarrassing.

    (2) I want a netbook that I have on the wireless connection to print on my printer wired network.

It seems that the 2 networks do not see each other.  Here are the things I've tried:

    (1) I disabled DHCP on the wireless router.  My thought is that requests for an IP address to the wireless router has sent will be transmitted along my wired router... NOT.  On my iPad and Wii, they could no longer connect wirelessly. Strangely enough, with the disconnected wire and wireless connection with my laptop, I've still was getting a 192.168.0.x IP address, even if the DHCP service is disabled on the wireless router.

    (2) thinking I would put manually the wireless router on the 192.168.1.x network, instead of saying things to get an Internet connection IP dynamicaly, I manually the IP value is 192.168.1.245.  Serious mistake.  I couldn't connect at all anywhere then.  The only way I could fix it was to hang on to my laptop computer, assign a static IP address to my laptop on the same network as the router, then I was able to get to the configuration page and to put things like he was.

Another thing... Even when I'm connected only plugged on my laptop and wireless is disabled, I ping 192.168.0.1 (the wireless gateway) and it returns a value. But, when I try to go in a browser, I get a "page not found" error

So, how can I get these two networks to play well and see each other?

    Thank you

    Jesse

Put the router E2500 'bridge' mode and it will transmit the RV082.

Assign E2500 DHCP, an IP address for itself of thje RV082, it will just be for access to the web administration E2500. System powered via the E2500 wired or wireless IP addresses will be obtained from the DHCP server on the RV082, and these will all be on the same subnet as designed to be plugged into the side of the RV082 LAN.

Should allow you to do exactly what you want to do.

I have a similar setup here works well with an E4200V2 right now.

  • Wireless and VPN RV042 router WRT54G

Respected member, please help if you can! I have an ADSL with dynamic connected with the wrt54g router, I recently bought RV042 and want to connect the wire coming from wireless with ports. so, basically, I want to use RV042VPN for help after the router, is there a way I can use vpn behind with port using RV042 router wireless

I can't be able to connect to the vpn as he seeks is not an ip or WAN/LAN.

It may be possible if you're lucky. But I highly recommend not to connect the RV042 after the WRT. A VPN server must always have a public IP address. Running a VPN server behind a router NAT (such as WRT) makes it extremely difficult and often it won't work at all. Connect the RV042 directly to your modem, configure it to your internet connection. In this way the RV042 has the public IP and VPN should become much easier. Then implement the WRT as simple access point in your network by changing the address LAN IP of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2, disable the DHCP server, and connect a LAN port of the WRT on a LAN on the RV042 port.
