X201T fingerprint reader not scan

Trying to put his fingerprints on my new X201T.  Each test, each finger - same results: green LED light scanner at the beginning, but after scanning my fingerprints, the orange LED blinks 3 times, and reported 'bad quality '.  I used scans of fingerprints on many laptops before - so I don't * think * I do this completely in back or something.

I installed the new program to fingerprint reader (5.9.3, build 6264) the ThinkVantage System Update utility. Same results.

Driver Manager shows "coprocessor (WBF advanced mode) digital footprints TouchChip" installed & working properly. He said that the latest drivers are installed.

A possible problem - I occasionally get an error message saying "USB device not recognized - one of the devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned...". ». Shows Device Manager then an unknown device in the concentrator root (3 ports) USB / generic (6 ports) USB hub.  Is this something related to the fingerprint reader? Am I missing some device driver?

Thanks for your suggestions...

EDIT: I forgot to add - Professional Win7 64-bit, as installed Lenovo.

My new x201T has finally - a working fingerprint reader!  Here's the scoop on getting this problem - the part which had to be replaced was part of the plastic screen, which also contains the fingerprint reader. According to Lenovo, the x200T both the x201T share the same exact part for the bezel of the screen number. But there are in fact two major differences:

(1) x200T uses an AuthenTek fingerprint reader, x201T uses one of UPEK Inc. They have different connection cables.

(2) the screen bezel x200T of course SAY 'x 200 Tablet' on this subject - maybe not a big deal, but I don't want the last year my x201T model # clearly on it!

So now I have a screen bezel x200T & transplanted successfully into my fingerprint reader x201T!  Bravo for the on-site technician who understood all this after only two previous lost 30 miles out at my house. He ended up having to replace a cable additional x201T with the old version of x200T, to make everything work. We also had to install the drivers of different devices, as the fingerprint reader x200T is a manufacturer of completely different from the x201T.

He also managed to carefully replace the sticker "x 200 tablet" of the new scope with that of my original unit, who said correctly 'x 201 Tablet '.

Again - it has been a very frustrating experience. I don't understand why Lenovo is not a good new screen bezel with the correct new fingerprint for the x201T reader.  It should not require a creative technician find a way to hack the x200T spare parts to work in the x201T!

  • Fingerprint reader not working not not after sleep

So, I've mentioned this problem in a previous post and was directed here http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67245 which is a patch that could solve this. This patch did not work. What happens when my laptop back to sleep or the fingerprint reader does not, it says "waiting...". "the top of the screen instead of the normal scan message and don't answer not, or in some cases when I click on other identifying information, it shows a third account (first is my account, second is the account of the player, and the third is a thing stop sign that says that the fingerprint reader is not attached). When I connect with my normal password and try to go to the fingerprint software, it appears a bit is window that is labeled Digital Footprints Lenovo 2.0 and the message "Please wait...". ».

Other then returning to sleep the fingerprint reader has been working well. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Edited to add link patch.

Well, I was still functioning, but I'm not exactly sure how. I'm going on what I've been through so that you guys can get an idea and fix if necessary. To start I spoke to Ms support and I worked with them for a very long period. They tried different drivers installation (other AuthenTec then) and every time we did it he would say "Fingerprint reader is not available" at the opening of the session. They have tried to change the power settings and devices that could wake up from my computer and that had no effect either. I called Lenovo and they basically just told me to download the software that was already on the computer and change the option to have it wake up the computer, which does not exist. They were very helpful.

What eventualy get it working (and it's been working so far), is to uninstall the driver and software. Then reinstall everything and install the patch link above. The first time I install it, I just double clicked on it and went through the installation process. But you must go to the folder, he settled in (C:\DRIVERS\VISTA\FPIRPON\) and double click on FPIRPOn.reg which will add the fix in the registry. In addition to this I also went into the Device Manager and unchecked the box that allows the computer turn on of the fingerprint reader under properties-> the power management of the device. The last thing I did was make an edition of registry to force reset USB every time that wake from sleep. I found the registry change here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928631/en-us.

So I'm sure it's the patch that fixed when I installed correctly it because I tried both the thing of power management to prevent of turns off AND editing the registry and it did not work. I also thing that Vista SP1 solves what the registry edit did, but I tried anyway because I was desperate haha. I'll cancel the registry change and thing of management one of power at a time and see if it still works. If it does not continue to work I guess it's a hardware problem and want to call Lenovo to get it repaired.

Anyone who has this problem I would say that they are trying the patch in the link I posted (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67245) and follow the installation instructions carefully. Good luck!

    Hey Midsyork,

Looks like you run Digital Persona SimplePass flavor.

Two things to try, in order:

    • Hard reset
    • Remove and reinstall the validity sensor driver

    Hard Reset:

Sometimes, all you need to do is the computer suddenly.  This method works for a variety of connection and "glued" program issues.

    • Disconnect all the external devices first.
    • Remove the AC power and battery
    • Press and hold the power button while in the minus 30 seconds
    • Reinstall the power supply for the first start only * see Note
    • Power on - connect
    • Next time you shut down the system, replace the battery.

    * Note: You can ignore the little battery aside.  If you wish, replace the battery the first time and do it with her.

    Check the software...

If it still does not work, go ahead.

    • Control Panel > Device Manager > biometric devices > Validity Sensor > uninstall > delete
    • Reboot ...

    Validity Sensor V2.1.0.2

    • Install the validitysensorDriverinstallationpackage: it if called sp*.exe - the package will be most likely located in the downloads folder.  If you have control of "Admin", you can highlight the package and "double-click on ' to install it, otherwise just right-click, select"Run as Administrator"and install.

This can kick things hard enough to restore the Digital Persona software.  You can hit him harder, but first...

    ======================================================================================

    What about the rest...

You could consider running a full system scan.  I'm a demon for this.  I like a healthy file system.  It cannot solve the problem, but it will ensure that the issue is not a messed up system files, which CAN cause all sorts of unpleasant and troubled issues.  You do not really have to 'look' like a mother hen during analysis, look at the logs or 'DO' something.  He's going to take care of yourself and try to fix what it can.  The only time where that must involve it is things do not go well...  Is there a doc to help at the end to tell you what does this thing.  It is not harmful and, unless your system is broken, and it's going to die anyway, it will only make things better than they are now.

    scannow SFC

Analyze and fix the system.  The sfc/scannow command. who will do - it will scan the operating system, looking for corrupted files and inconsistencies; He will replace or repair everything he can.  If it finds corrupted programs or libraries, it will try to correct them.

    • Start menu > all programs > Accessories > right click on guest > select ' run as administrator'
    • In the command prompt window, type (or copy / paste) sfc/scannow , and then press enter.

(Note the space between sfc and the ' / '.)

The sfc scan will report its findings and you can look at the results:

    • Open an command prompt (it doesn't have to be as an administrator):
    • Use the command copy to create a copy of file readable by the output:

    %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log copy %userprofile%\desktop\cbs.txt

If "scannow" does not properly complete, try running:

    SFC /verifyonly

Copy the results to a text file, extract the output file in Notepad and look for errors that could not fix the full scan.

Help file for the System FIsland Checker command:

The Windows Vista or Windows 7 System File Checker tool

  • DigitalPersona fingerprint reader not detected

    Hello

I just bought a DV4-1302tx and it happened a week ago. The fingerprint reader has no problem in terms of use (windows login) and online account connection. However, after that I run HP Healthcheck, validity sensor is listed as a recommended update, that I've updated. At the next reboot, in my view, the drive is no longer detected.

There is a Validity Sensor being listed as the connected device connected USB device icon. the DigitalPersona software appears the error of re - install the driver. personal identifier in the Device Manager has listed version of validity 2.0.0.1c sensor and no error message.

    Troubleshooting done so far:

    (i) redownload updates for Validity sensor of HP Healthcheck as she is constantly listed as a recommended update after initial installation. PROBLEM PERSISTS

(II) DigitalPersona to uninstall and re-install using Recovery Manager. PROBLEM PERSISTS

(III) driver Validity Sensor to uninstall and re-install using Recovery Manager. PROBLEM PERSISTS

(IV) system restore attempt to reverse the HP Healthcheck on Validity Sensor update. Restore failed, no changes applied. PROBLEM PERSISTS

    (v) check if the driver rear roller possible for Validity Sensor, option is grayed out. PROBLEM PERSISTS

(VI) site of DigitalPersona check the update on the version of the software, not successful. the only security update is for the old version. PROBLEM PERSISTS

(VII) check the HP website to download driver. Only driver Validity Sensor is located, and this is the last version that is installed on my system (2.0.0.1c). PROBLEM PERSISTS

I'm running out of idea to make it work. I book the total recovery of the system ultimately, someone has the same problem? Other recommendations? Please help, thanks!

I think that through the messages of the forum, I found a solution to my problem above. Just remove the driver from the Device Manager, and then run a scan to "detect the hardware changes" in Device Manager, Windows detects an unknown device and auto apply driver version 1.3.xxx to install. Drive is functional immediately after installation.

I have also received confirmation of DigitalPersona support only version 1.3.xx driver should be used, 2xxx will cause conflicts. I wonder why HP Healthcheck invites you to update a driver, defective, inconsistent and cause so much inconvenience to all the world instead. A total discount of the satisfaction of users.

    Kenny

    DigitalPersona support response:

    "

Hello Kenny, the HP HealthCheck tool seems to update your drivers of validity to an incompatible version with our software.  The proper drivers should be 1.3.1.  Please try to restore your drivers. Thank you

    I have a HP DV6-6b12ed with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Everything works except my fingerprint reader.

I tried installing the drivers on the website of support & drivers HP, but did not work.

I tried to install software like Simplepass identify Protection and DigitalPersona digital.

  • Fingerprint reader not working after upgrade to win 8

    HP Pavilion DV6T

I upgraded to WIN8 pro to Windows 7 home premium, a few days ago.  Now my fingerprint reader is no longer lights up or scan my fingerprint.  I checked the driver in Device Manager and it says that the driver is up-to-date and that the equipment is working properly.  I also downloaded the latest update of the software Simplepass Win8, but it does not help.

  • Pavilion dv6500z: fingerprint reader not activated / work

    Hello:

I have a HP Pavilion dv6500z (32 - bit laptop) running Windows Vista Home Premium.

I have a handset problem and don't know if they are linked, or separate.

    (1) I'm missing an icon on the initial screen you are presented with when Windows comes first to the top, where you choose which account to connect to, before any screen of Login/PW. (see other comments below).

This departure occurring at each "seed" (cold or hot) after running my laptop in safe mode, to analyze a different problem.

    (2) my fingeprint scanner does not... I get more no pop-up window if I accidentally slip a finger in the eye of the scanner.

Normally, when I start my computer, I get to choose two icons: one with my name/icon.

My account is a SysAdmin account, not a normal account.  I know what is its icon.

I don't remember what the other one was... I don't think it was a guest since icons (images) choose account

Since when creating a guest account will seem familiar, what was on the screen as the 2nd icon.

I don't remember what is was, but think it was logging in using the fingerprint reader.

    Any ideas?

    Thanx

    DaleBr

This problem seems to be resolved.

    Here's what I did.

At first, I just had an icon of my connection to the administrator account.

After recording, I created a guest account.

Once rebooted (hot and cold), my initial login screen had to choose 3 items:

    1) administrator account

    2) guest account

    3) finger slide to unlock a session ... it's the icon that was previously missing for the fingerprint reader.

I went and turned off the guest account.

I have closure for a few minutes and made a cold start.

Icons for both the administrator account and the finger swipe to open a session showed the choice.

This is how it should have been... How it was before the start in safe mode.

  • HP DV4 1104tx fingerprint reader not detected?

    Hello

I have a dv4-1104tx and recently I turned on the laptop and the fingerprint reader came as "undetected"? I have re-installed driver and HP.com digipersona validity and still no luck? I even did a fresh install of windows 7 x 64 and still the problem is not resolved?

In Device Manager under usb ports tab indicates that the scanner is 'unknown '? and the status says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) "in my experience code 43 means his problem with drivers but I'm not sure? Please if anyone can help with this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Fingerprint reader not working not not upon awakening from sleep for the windows login

    Hello
I have a new T540P with a validity fingerprint reader.

About 80% of the time, the fingerprint reader does not meet the windows login screen after the wake up the computer from sleep mode. It works 100% of the time when starting from a stop position, however. Once connected, it also works 100% of the time. The question arises when you log in to windows.

    I tried many things

-uninstallation/installation of the device in the Device Manager and finger print manager pro software

-prints of setting through two fingerprint Manager software pro (lenovo) OR through the windows built in options of the control panel of the fingerprints

-disabling "allow windows to turn off this device to save power" in Device Manager.

Thus, I must say that I have an another T540P I ordered as a replacement. Both models encounter the same problem.

Is it a matter of broad platform affecting all models of T540P? It's frusterating.

  • Fingerprint reader not working after hibernation

Does anyone else have the problem of the fingerprint reader does not work after hibernate? It is an intermittent problem, happens all the time, but frequently. Out of hibernation, it flashes, move my finger, nothing happens, flashing stops and the drive does not work after that. I have to enter my password of Windows and it does not work for all Web sites. Must restart to re-engage the drive.

I'm on Win 7 Home Prem 64 bit with the latest drivers for the fingerprint reader and last update for Authentec software.

So, here is the solution (s) found by Pokey and me:

Option 1:  Computer properties, Device Manager, biometric devices, validity sensors, properties and the power management tab, uncheck the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

Option 2:  Try deactivation and activation of the 'Credential Manager' service by going to control panel, Administrative Services, Manager tools of credentials.  Even if the credentials manager status is "started", stop the service credentials manager and restart it. Find more information here: https://support.authentec.com/Forum/tabid/318/forumid/49/threadid/600/scope/posts/Default.aspx

    Option 3:  Do both.

When I try to open my fingerprints, I get the message that the fingerprint reader is not connected. When I check the biometrics in Control Panel it says there is no can be found on this machine. I did all the updates of Windows that were in the queue, rebooted and saw that biometrics in the Control Panel indicated the fingerprint reader. But when I tried to run the Windows logon option, it says that there is no software for the reader. I installed Simplepass of Authentec for HP and it showed everything. I have set up my fingerprints and the player works on everything he's supposed to. Sweet!
