Xbox 360 connects to Windows Media Center (Windows 7-64 bit)

I can't get my Xbox to connect to Windows Media Center.  When I ran Vista it would work, but now that I am on Windows 7, 64-bit, it just does not connect.  The strange thing is that I'm able to share media from my PC to the Xbox without fail.  In addition, Windows Media Center has detected the Xbox on the network.  But for some reason, the Xbox cannot find the Windows Media Center.  It makes no sense at all.  I even tried disabling the Windows Firewall to see if it would work, but it didn't.  There is no other firewall in my home network.  Help, please.

Hi Imautobot,

You may need to configure the Xbox extender for Windows Media center for Xbox to work.

Step 1: Get the key Setup of Xbox 360
1. on your console, go to my Xbox, and then select Windows Media Center.
2. follow the on-screen instructions.
3. write down the 8 digit Media Center Setup key.

Step 2: Add an Extender on your computer
1 start Windows Media Center.
2. click on tasks, and then click Add Extender.
3. When prompted, enter Xbox 360 8-digit setup key.
4. complete the configuration of the Extender.

  • Xbox 360 will not connect to the Media Center after that PC has been asleep

My Xbox 360 connects to my Media Center as an Extender initially. When it works, it works very well. However, after my PC has spent time in a suspended state, it is at 75% chance that my Xbox won't be able to connect to the Media Center. Sometimes it will work, but more often it won't.

Restart my PC will allow the Xbox to connect immediately, but this isn't an ideal solution. I wish I could have my PC of a suspended state wake and correctly connected to the Xbox media extender.

  • Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows all of a sudden not connect into any USB port

Original title: Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows issue.

Hi, I bought this back in 2008 and it has been flawless since today... I tried to use it and the controller is unable to connect to the receiver.

There is no light on the receiver, even when I plug it into a different USB port there is still nothing... I even tried another computer. I assume the receiver is nakered?. Can anyone shed some light on this?

If the receiver is so broken, can I buy this receiver on its own and that it will be compatible with my wireless controller Xbox 360 instead of having to buy another expensive controller...

    Thank you very much.

The Xbox controller draw right on the edge for a USB port, putting pressure on all of the USB bus, especially if there are other USB devices. If you get an external USB powered hub to add to your system and plug the controller, you will solve your problem.

I had the same problem with my Creative Labs USB sound card and the Xbox controller at the same time. I picked up a Zonet similar to this (different brand):

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817182168

I plug my controller, keyboard, and mouse dongle in the hub and plug my sound card directly into one of the ports on the back of the PC. Problem solved! I got no sound since problem.

    Hi Zxcvbnma,

    ·         Is the specific issue with only Need for Speed or does happen with other games as well?

If the problem is specific only with Need for Speed, you can try to uninstall the game and reinstall the game and check if it works fine without any problems.

I also suggest that you uninstall Xbox 360 controller drivers and reinstall the drivers that could help you solve the problem.

Check the settings of the game. You can also connect the controller to the other computer and use it and check if the problem still persists.

  • How < I > completely < /i > reinstall a wired controller Xbox 360 on a Windows PC?

I have a wired Xbox 360 controller, which I use on my PC and my laptop... Who is having trouble on the PC when the Vibration is enabled in games. (Among other problems)

I read the other post, where the answer is that the bus power supply and motherboard were not powerful enough and is that which is at the origin of the problems, now I'm not saying I wouldn't totally rule this possibility, but I'm pretty confident that my PC must be capable of this (especially if my cell phone).

I think my problem is to do the installation, because there was a problem during the installation on the PC...

So that the Xbox 360 controller installed its drivers and what - not the first time I plugged on my PC, my friend offline security "do not pull the Xbox off the shelf" section of wire and an error, but the installation is complete. The controller has the same way as it does on the laptop, for example, the green ring just keeps blinking while on the laptop, he moved to the "Player 1" quarter. However, the feature (buttons and sticks) works well in games, crashing less vibrations.

To be honest, I don't really care about the vibration and have just disabled in the game options, but I recently bought a game where I can not disable the vibration and so I can not use my controller with it. (sad face). That said, it would be nice to stop the flashing green light several times.

I tried through Add/Remove programs but do not understand how completely remove everything if I do a fresh install.

I don't know if there are any software is installed, or elements of the registry or drivers. But I need to remove what it installed so I can reinstall it without error.

My title should have been no doubt: "How to completely uninstall a wired Xbox 360 controller on a Windows PC" since it is the part of the resettlement of which I have a problem with.

    Can someone help me?
