XPS 410 new HD found no boot device

Have a 410 XPS which had a RAID configuration. The two HD went bad so I wanted to just buy 1 HD and disable the RAID.

I put the 1 HD in and installed WinMCE from the supplied DVD. Everything goes well until I did a reboot. "No Boot Device Found" "F1 to start over or F2 for Setup. The PC will start if I let Windows DVD in the drive, but if this isn't in the drive I get the above message.

I went into the BIOS and made sure that RAID has not been set on "On" and I checked the boot sequence. In the boot sequence, I noticed that the DVD player is the only number next to it. For the life of me I can't understand what Miss me.

Just installed a new har drive in my Compaq CQ57. Order the HP recovery discs. Place the first disc in the disc as instructed and turned on power drive. Now, I get a "no boot device - insert boot disk" message. I thought it was what I had at HP? Any help on how to recover the system, and then reinstall Windows 7? What should I do next?

    Hello:

Disc 1 of recovery in Notepad, turn on the power / restart your PC and press the F9 key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to get the start time menu.

Select the DVD drive on the list of bootable devices, and press the Enter key.

Watch the screen for additional instructions.

If the F9 key does not launch the start menu, then press the ESC key instead and select the menu options start from there.

  • Operating system not found, no boot device has been detected but can run XP in Bootcamp without problem?

The title says it all. I searched and tried the partial fixes to some of the questions.

I have installed Bootcamp and a working copy of XP Pro works no problem at all.

I installed VMFusion and merger goes to the partition, and I get the error no bootable devices and not found any BONES. It seems trying to boot from a network, it works to resolve a MAC address. Then he hangs on. Then don't say: "no found bone." I put the disc XP Prop and try reinstalling and it said: none found disk... I have attached a few photos.

    Thank you

Note: These steps assume that you have a single Apple to default installation of Windows on a single Boot Camp partition and Boot Camp of VMware Fusion single default partition Machine virtual (without a snapshot *) and if you have changed the partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine to add additional hard disks to be virtual or RAW disk then do not use these instructions unless you backup the Boot Camp partition the Machine package virtual first. * Also note that Fusion 2.0.0 may accidentally have a snapshot with the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine and it should not have, then you should check to ensure that the condition does not exist as well. (With merger closed if the partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine package is over 1 MB in size, then you might have a snapshot in place and do not continue with these instructions.)

  • New hard disk identified but causes the error "no boot device found".

    Hello

Recently my computer (Inspiron 15 3521) had hard drive failures, so I ran a diagnosis which resulted in replace me the hard drive. I thought I would upgrade the old 500 GB for a hard drive of tuberculosis.

Now, when I install the new hard drive, that it translates "found no boot device" I ran diagnostics on it and checked everything, and it recognizes the hard disk. Diagnosis is nothing but the problem persists. Any help would be great!

The fundamental question: you have installed Windows on the drive?  New disks arrive Virgin - you'll need the support of recovery do you when you have received the system to install the operating system on the disk.

  • Only brand new XPS 13 no boot device found

Hello, I just received my brand new 13 XPS in the mail today, when I opened and turned it top read "no found boot device, press a key to restart your computer."  After several attempts to reboot and also starting for other boot on the portable devices (' Windows manager and partition itself "none of them have solved the problem.)  From what I understand this, is this a problem with the hardware with the SSD on the laptop? Or is there something I can do which will fix this problem?

Check to make sure that it is in mode UEFI and secure startup is enabled.  If both are set, yes - the ssd is likely bad.  Send the replacement system - it is absolutely useless to have a whole new system of DOA torn apart for repair.

  • HP Envy 15 t-as000: brand new HP Envy w / SSD: "Boot Device not found".

    Hello

I have a brand new (less than 1 week) HP Envy 15 t-as000 w / a 256 GB SSD.  After the impeccable behavior for 1 week, the laptop can be started is no longer.  No boot device is detected.  If I try to run a diagnostic on the hard disk, the BIOS I was informed that it can not detect even a current hard drive (see image)

I don't know what happened.  I'm very careful with my machines.  He has not been abandoned. It has not been dropped on, or taken any sort of somehow.  I just pressed the power button one day (yesterday) and I see this:

Thanks for the tips. I followed your recommendations and sent the laptop to HP for replacement (I bought this unit directly to the output from the HP website).

However, I am frustrated because after all taxes and transportation costs, I had to pay an additional amount of $10.  The total general of the replacement order was $739,79 against $730,90 for the original purchase.  Why am I penalized $ 10 ($8,89 to be exact) for a mistake that was not even my fault?

Also, I had to pay $24,83 FedEx packaging to send the laptop back.  How was I supposed to know I should have brought the Moose with me to Seattle, WA in Ithaca, NY packaging because the SSD was going to fail in my college dorm?

So in the end, my HP Envy $730,90 now goes to the identical replacement of cost unit $739,79 + packaging from FedEx $24,83 phone = $ 764,62.

Bottom line: screw - up HP cost me $33,72!  Not the end of the world but still a ringing sound nice when you're not yet a career with a cushy salary of mickael elite.

Discover your forum, I discovered that I could not use the Image of the system on nothing less than what was originally on my computer a 1 TB hard drive. So, I went out and I tried to install Image system on it. I was unable to implement the recovery program I had before. I went to the boot options and he set up to boot from the key USB didn't keep get no boot device found message. After trying several different ways to do it, I made a test drive and kept getting unavailable message. I've reset the hard drive wiped clean all connections and was still unable to do a hard drive test, so I assumed that there was something wrong with the hard drive has returned to where I got it from. Then went to another bank and picked up another.

First thing I did was a fast hard drive test and it happened.

I went to the view of Windows and try to download Windows 8 on an another USB and then tried to download it and continue to spread the message no boot device found. I tried this download on my g6 HP Pavilion with Windows 7 64 bit operating system. This is why it did not work because I use a computer with Windows 7 and not Windows 8?

    Hello:

See if you make your own plain W8 x 64 installation media works for you...

    Download the ISO W8...

    https://docs.Google.com/file/d/0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg/edit?PLI=1

Then use this tool to make the file iso bootable on a 4 GB + DVD or USB flash drive

If you install via a DVD, you must go into the BIOS, turn on legacy mode and disable secure boot.

I tried to restore default - but still does not work. Now other bios diagnostics no longer work. That is to say he's corrupt!

Tried to update the bios, but doesn't seem to work. The bios still say 7/2015. I tried to update the bios 9/2015. Also used 7/2015 bios, bios Diagnostics but still does not.  I use a USB port and a connector USB Belkin C - I think not that it really is booting from the USB key to install the Bios.  I set the Bios to activate the firmware-C update.

  • no boot device found message after that finishing recovery disks and restart...

I recently bought a new Wester Digital hard drive my laptop HP provided with is death/failed, but now I have no found boot device / error message even after complete installation floppies and disk 4 is ejected.  He did the whole insert the disc 1, 2, 3 and 4, and he went to 100%, then said to remove recovery media and press on continue, so that he can restart and complete the process, but it just reboots the computer, gets the no boot message device and stays there.  There's too much during the night and still the same message.  After disc 4 finished what she also said not to touch anything or do something, so I did everything, he said to do.  The hard drive is new, as I said, and is the same 500 GB which was the one I replaced.  The recovery disc were not created by me, they came with my laptop when I bought from futureshop in late October 2010.  It is out of warranty too, that's why I'm looking for a solution...

    Any help would be welcome...

I did something else I looked and everything got up and running, so it's all good now.

  • HP PAVILION G6: Not found boot device

I tried a factory restore on my laptop. I noticed that the recovery partition was corrupted, so I ordered the recovery DVDs. Once I received the DVD, I walked through the factory restore process insert each DVD, as requested. Once over the powers of the computer down. When I power it back up, I get the message "no boot device found". I replaced the DVD thinking they were bad and received the same error message. I ran diagnostics on the drive and the drive transmitted without error. This laptop has UEFI. Any suggestions?

    Hi @dwphilips

If the hard drive is not recognized in the boot order please restore the default values.  This will make search for new hardware and pick up I hope as the new hard drive, as suggested in the document.

If the reader is not always please check your connections again to make sure nothing has become loose.

You can also try a new SATA cable because it is also a possibility.

    Good luck!

  • No found boot device. Press F11 to restart the machine

I have a Dell all in one computer and I just replaced the hard drive.  I have no operating system installed.  When I turned on the computer after the installation of the hard disk, I got the message "No boot device found".

    What is my next steps?

    Install the Windows operating system?

Exactly what AIO model and what version of Windows?

If you have not formatted the new HARD drive and installed Windows, this is exactly the error you will get.

You must insert the disk to reinstall Windows in the optical drive, then power on and press F12. Chose the optical drive from the start menu and follow the prompts to install Windows after it starts from the OS disk...

Once installation is complete, you will need to install all the hardware drivers, in the correct order. So make sure that firewalls and antiviral software are running and go directly to the website of MS update to download/install all updates for your version of Windows.
