XPS 8700 will not feed radeon hd 7790

I bought this computer a month ago and I tried to upgrade the gpu, but it will not produce a video signal. I was able to use the radeon, even in an old pc (Dell Studio since 2009 under win vista) with the same power supply that I use in the XPS (Corsair 500W) specification. I installed both in the XPS specification, but the radeon does not illuminate. I connected the cable 3 x 2 but no luck. I went to the geforce gt 635 which has been installed in the factory and works well for all the components work. I think that the power supply should be more than enough, but I don't see other reasons, it will not work. I tried to install the drivers (and uninstall geforce) before putting the card in as well. I had to use the Corsair PSU because the original 460W did not have a record of 3 x 2. It's the video card:

We have an Officejet Pro 8600 who will not feed the paper card stock. John,

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

Try indicating what type of media you print to the printer - if your media in the printing preferences settings do not understand "card", you should choose something else which is similar: Matt Brochure, card, 'something' that kind of card stock for the printer to the printer waits 'thick' paper looks.

    Hi Kman909,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you have had a paper jam and you were able to delete it in one piece, but now the printer will not feed paper.
I'll be happy to help you.

I have provided a document through the steps to see if it will solve this problem.

' Load paper ' Error Message is displayed and the printer is not look upward or paper feeding.

This document will show you all the areas to check in case another paper was also drawn on the inside.

The Attention will Flash and a "Paper jam" Message appears on the control panel.

Remove paper tray and gently turn the printer on the side and check the bottom of the printer to make sure that a paper is not jammed in the printer.

Please provide detailed results if you're still having problems.

There are flashing lights or the error messages on the printer?

  • XPS 8700 does not start after the upgrade memory RAM

    Dear members of the Forum.

I have a XPS 8700 with the following specifications:

    Core i7 4770 k

    2 TB HARD DRIVE

    16 GB of Ram (4 x 4 GB)

    NVidia GTX 660 (1.5 GB)

    BIOS version A10 (later).

RAM sticks in my current system are all Micron Tech (here) 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM PC3 12800 240pin 1.5V 1600 MT/s.

I had two RAM modules of tech Micron (here) 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM PC3 12800 240pin 1.5V 1600 MT/s so that I can move on to a total of 24 GB.

After the discussion here and here, I installed the modules in slots 1 & 2 (both white) so that the system is not able to start. Not even got the bios screen. I also tried 3 & 4 configuration (both black) I ran my computer with the two 8 GB sticks only, with the same unfortunate results.

I also saw that it is a normal problem of compatibility problems between the types of ram, but I consider that this is not the case. In addition, bad positioning of the modules is not also the case because if I put my old ram glue the computer starts normally.

I used tape you will static isolation.

Is the problem, a problem of compatibility between my computer and the RAM modules?

If the RAM is damaged does these effects (do not start)?

How can I check if the RAM modules are damaged?

    What would be your suggestions?

I thank very you much in advance!

    Mauricio

Hmm, I'd say you two bad sticks of RAM.  If the system POST even with them, I would swap them if you can.  We know that the RAM slots work because you have 4 x 4 sticks without any problem and your computer can take up to 32 GB of RAM.  Your admission that you bought the right kind of RAM, voltage, and speed, etc., so that shouldn't be a problem.  I would say as bad RAM.  When you do not install, just check that you make pairs in each of the colored slots, for example. matching pairs in the slot of white and black.

  • Dell XPS 12 - will not start / turns on after hard reset

Last night I was with my XPS w12 in laptop mode on battery and he finally went down to 7% of the capacity.  At this point, it turns off the display and I moved my office to connect the power adapter (thinking it would simply turn the display when there was enough power...  The screen never came back (I waited 15-20 minutes), but the battery has been recharged.  At that time, I tried a hard reset by holding the power button for 5 to 10 seconds.

When I tried to turn it on, nothing happened.  No backlit keyboard, no screen, just the fan.  The light never came the switch either. So I tried an another hard reset with the same results.  I even tried to turn it on with the "D" button held down for on board diagnostics and got nothing more than the start of the fan.

I thought it might be an overheating problem, so I let it set for an hour and tried again - none other than the fan. It seems that the laptop does not pass the initial diagnosis and not even up to the point where the bios starts to load.

I really thought that my cell phone was dead and ready for use.  I took it in the office the next day so I could call Dell Support Pro. Just for fun, I plugged with the AC adapter and tried to turn it on - viola!  It started working again.

I had this problem once before, and he began to work after 2-3 resets hard. I was working on a proposal when the laptop went down. I tried reset hard over a period of 4 hours with no result. It baffles me why it start OK the next day morning.

I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.  I am running the A07 BIOS (the most common) and my 12 XPS is configured with 8 GB of memory and 256 GB SSD with an i7 and Intel wireless card.

Any suggestions on this diagnosis? The hardest part is then if fails, the failure is total - you are unable to diagnosis. When she comes back, all right, and there is than any event in the event log that relate to the failure.

OK - I narrowed down it to the following:

When the laptop is "asleep", it will finally in power mode. It seems that connect a power adapter for the laptop at this point will enter a State of confusion, when the button is pressed, the laptop fan turns on but no light on the power button or on the keyboard – the screen remains blank.  Laptop fan works (it is very quiet - he must hold the phone to your ear to hear it).

I don't know if the cause is a low battery or if the issue is simply with the State of the CPU to power down.  All I know is that when it happens, if I disconnect the power adapter and press and hold the power button until the fan of the laptop turns off, the hard reset allows him to come back normally.  If you leave the adapter attached, it will charge the battery but will not allow the laptop start.

I said this experiment several times with the same result every time. I'm guessing that there is a bug in the BIOS that defines an error state that are resolved with the associated power Board. Do the hard reset without the adapter seems reliable to fix the problem.

  • XPS 8300 will not identify data reader 5 to

I have a desktop computer XPS 8300, Windows 7/64, 12 GB of RAM. Boot drive is a 500 GB SSD, and there is a SATA 2 TB of data. I'm a photographer, so I need a lot of data storage.

I just bought a Toshiba MD04ACA500 5 to to use as a data drive (NO boot).

My XPS 8300 can see the drive, but insists on the fact that it contains only 500 GB of storage, not 5 TB. I did the following:

    • Run Diskpart from a DOS window.
    • Run Diskmgmt.msc;
    • Run the tool to partition a third party
    • Also, I went through Windows KB 2581408 procedure of adding a player of great size.

No matter what I do, the drive is detected as only 500 GB.

The XPS 8300 is possible to work with a 5 TB drive? If so, how?

    Thank you, Ed

Disks over 2 TB software needed to work with disks of large capacity and NEED 64 Bit Windows.  INTEL RST integrated in win7 is 8.x, which means that he WILL NOT see large capacity disks. Seagate manage it with the driver and utilities.

    http://www.Seagate.com/support/downloads/beyond-2TB/

INTEL RST 10.1 at least is NECESSARY for advanced format drives.

With windows vista or 7 install ATA mode then the microsoft patch is necessary before moving on to the AHCI.

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/922976

Once passed to Ahci and work, you install the version of the RST that works for your model.

Latest and most recent versions of the decline of the RST support more older chipsets.

The latest 15 13 or 14 or 11 or 12 may not work.

Before 9.x, it was called MSM (Matrix Storage Manager)

It changed of MSM to RST in the 9.x versions.

10.1 or greater is required for the GPT partitions greater than 2 TB.

9.6 or higher is required for larger than 120 Gig aka advanced format drives.

V9.6 driver Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) and above.

  • Satellite P100 will not feed or has white screen

So, I have this laptop I missed about 4 months ago. Not feed the most. I can press the Start button and it looks like his work, but there is nothing on the screen. I can hear the fan from time to time, then a beep after about 1 min after 'start-up', but screen seems dead. Nothing appears on the screen at all.

I tried with and without battery power.

My laptop can become very hot and freeze that I remember.

I replaced my Toshiba with another laptop but if my Satellite is not going to work again is a way I can get the files out there still?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

    > I replaced my Toshiba with another laptop but if my Satellite is not going to work again is a way I can get the files out there still?
You need the data and files from the internal HARD drive?

You can access the connection data the P100 HDD external USB HDD to the other computer.
You could remove the HARD the P100 drive and could insert into an external USB enclosure
I think that the HARD disk supports the SATA interface, so you have to get a SATA USB caddies

    With regard to the question P100;
Well, it seems to be a hardware problem, we can only speculate about the type of dysfunction, but for me, it looks like a serious problem
The best is to contact a technician for laptop and check the single parts

    Good luck
