Yoga 2 Pro micro-HDMi issue RESOLVED

I've had my Yoga Pro 2 for about a week now. Slow adaptation to the ins and outs of the device. Recently acquired a micro HDMi to HDMi adapter to connect the 2 Yoga to my TV. Needless to say I was a bit dismayed when I noticed that the adapter worked, but only if I tugged on the connection (toward the front of the machine). When I let go, disconnect the screen and I have no picture. This angered me a little. I read a little about other people having the same problems.

I slept on the issue of a night and then in the morning, I decided to take things into their own hands. A caught a nail file I had laying around and shaved about the width of a thumb to the end of the micro-HDMi connector nail file. I could hardly see any difference in the cable connector. Then I tried to plug it in and voila. No problem whatsoever. Tried fishing the connector to the rear, low, high, before. Without interruption...

I know it's a little frustrating, but I like the rubbery feel of the Yoga 2 body and was ready to do a few TWEAKS to make it work. A took about 5 minutes total. Now am happy once again...

This gives a try if you have a problem with the connection.

Just thought I'd share...

You are welcome...

I wasn't ready to give up, I really like this Y2P so far. And it was boring but if the fix is easy and even I can do it, then you know...

See you soon...

Has anyone tried connect a HDMI microphone on their place of dell 11 7140 pro after windows 10 upgrade? Mine does not work after the upgrade, but the HDMI from the dock works.

I have thus display driver problems on 10 to win.

For me, the micro HDMI port works fine. I use an active adapter, so that could make a difference.

The HDMI on the dock works well, but only if I directly connect to an HDMI display. If I try to use a passive DVI adapter, then the external screen is not recognized. In addition, the DisplayPort on the wharf is also unnecessary, regardless of the type of cable or attached monitor.

I encounter this problem after performing a new installation of Win 10, using the brand Dell drivers and latest drivers Intel installed by Windows update.

It is certainly a driver problem Win 10 because everything works fine if I boot the Tablet under Linux using a USB key.

  • Yoga 3 Pro with projector

I have a new Yoga 3 and have attempted to connect with my projector for presentations PP. I obviously bought a micro HDMI connector, but there is no controls via the function keys (like most laptops) to choose between laptop, laptop + second screen etc. Also when I connect my laptop turns off screen projector and the projector image flickers and is totally undreadable. A big mess reall and that's why I need a portable (i.e. for presentations). Also cannot find instructions anywhere for that.

The problem may be related to the HDMI adapter. Someone has any advice on this please?

I ended up buying a new cable and it sorted the problem. It seems that the original micro HDMI / VGA was defective. That said, the new image on the screen by the projector was immediately the image to the right and had to be resolved through the projector settings. Nothing is ever simple.

  • Yoga 2 Pro: randomly switches modes even when closed and the peripheral use

I recently bought a Yoga 2 Pro, and I love it, except for an extremely annoying issue.

It toggles randomly modes on me without moving the screen. I have not been able to develop a model for switching, it seems to be completely random. This morning I use this connected to a monitor of periperal via HDMI with the lid closed, and it was fine for about an hour and then started switching of the modes - tablet, back to laptop, the marquee, stand up, back to laptop, for tent...

One of the benefits of its use with peripheral keyboard are the other modes don't disable the keyboard, but it is to randomly change the orientation of the screen. When I used it on its own without the devices, I can be typing away in the configuration of the laptop and all of a sudden it switches modes and the laptop is disabled.

Sometimes, it is very well for hours and then will be randomly 10 times in 30 seconds.

I know that I can turn on the rotation lock, but I just that it works correctly. He has been behaving in this way since the first night I bought it.

All my windows updates are current and I reinstalled the drivers of transition of Yoga.

Help, please. I need my computer for United work and cannot have a malfunction all the time and also cannot afford to lose if, during a period of time to have it fixed.

I think it's finally fixed, but he forced me to return the unit for repair.

Repair Center took two will solve the problem, but the ultimate fix seems to have required the replacement of the LCD: I guess there is some kind of sensor attached to the LCD unit. They replaced the motherboard and reconfigured the unit before replacing the LCD screen, so I can't be certain that he was not also a problem with the motherboard.

So I guess I would recommend all those who encounter this issue gets their unit in a Service Center for repair before the warranty runs out. The warranty repair process wasn't as smooth as I would have liked, but ultimately it looks like my machine works fine now, and I don't think that any amount of waiting for updates of pilot would have set it.

  • No output micro HDMI after upgrading to Win 8.1

My new Yoga 2 Pro has a secondary display connected via micro HDMI port. He first worked as a charm. But after upgrading to new Windows 8.1 (this is done automatically) it is no longer produced anything to micro HDMI port. Display and the cable is fully functional. But even if the screen is turned on, the computer is unable to save and apparently it cannot display anything. Micro HDMI port seems to be non-existent.

After upgrade of windows, I tried to uninstall / reinstall the display driver. I also upgraded to Win 8.1 Intel drivers versions found on the support site of Lenovo (including the BIOS display driver Intel HD 4400 15.33.18.64.3496 and chipset 9.4.0.1026, 76CN38). But nothing seems to work.

A solution in the forum is to change the cable, but I think that there is no sense here that the cable worked perfectly until the upgrade.

    Can anyone suggest a solution?

Lenovo: Is there a driver for Intel version 15.36.0.3652 on the Intel Web site. However, there is a blockage on the pilot, you need to install own Lenovo driver downloads. Can you check if this solves the problem?

Sorry, a new cable solves the problem

  • Yoga 3 Pro Touch Pad works only with Win10

This alluded autour in several other YOGA Pro 3 WIN 10 upgrades, but it should probably start splitting on each particular issue.

My upgrade to Win10 without any problem on the upgrade itself. I did the upgrade with an attached mouse and now I no longer a switch back to the use of the touch pad. Another way of saying this is that my Fn + delete button doesn't work.

I checked Synaptics for a driver, but they don't list one for Win10.

A know a work around to get the touchpad working again or a suggestion to fix?

    Thank you

Have you tried to install th Synaptics driver for Windows 10 on Lenovo's Support site?

  • Yoga 3 Pro: speaker stopped working (headphone jack still works)

Recently bought Yoga 3 Pro (Windows 8.1) the Lenovo Web site (2 months ago).

The speaker worked fine until yesterday. All of a sudden, the speaker stopped working, after I used the headset.

Now, only the helmet works and no sound can get out of the enclosure.

I updated the driver from RealTek speaker to a new version 9/2014. It did not help.

Does anyone have an idea on what could be the cause and how to fix it?

    Thank you!

My problem has been resolved to back the audio driver (which has been updated
through Windows Update automatically) to the factory default. The speaker
works again once the default driver has been reinstalled.

Now, one thing to note is that you must also disable the automatic
"update driver in" System Properties "==>"Material"==>"Device"tab
Installation settings"==> no, select"Let me choose what to do"==> and
Then select "never install driver from Windows Update." and ensure
"Automatically obtain the device app and info provided by your device.
Reference the manufacturer"is checked. This will not prevent the driver gets automatically
modified by Windows Update after your next reboot.

I hope this helps fix your situation also.

BTW, the likelihood of a material defect (speaker) is very very low...

    Good luck!

  • Yoga 2 Pro does not start disk hard undetected

Can someone help me solve this problem? Or guide me how to solve?

I bought yoga 2 pro in Malaysia three weeks back. And I had traveled in India last week. The PC was working fine until yesterday. Yesterday while I was working all of a sudden, the system hangs and I had to hard reset. But after the system starts. It shows the found boot device. I turned off and tried to start the button restore and open the bios, it shows that the HARD drive is not detected.

Same type of question I did face twice before, but if I hard start it again, it worked fine.

Now, the hunt begins. I got this PC near centre of Lenovo. He said you do not have to make here and gave me the number of customer support. I called and gave the serial number and given all the necessary information, they asked. Then they said that its service line product and premium premium is enabled for me. I was happy to hear that, and he asked me to hold for two minutes. I waited on the line. When he said this product not supported in India and I must remind the Malaysia and gave me toll free 1800-22-0116. When I try to call that number, he said that there is no such number.
Once the centre of Lenovo in charge told me if I pay they can use my PC here.
After awhile, I got a call from Lenovo tech support Bangalore saying that my PC is not supported by the Lenovo India and if they want to resolve what I have to pay for it.
When I buy the product that I checked in the shop, they said its in warranty international.
That means international warranty? If Lenovo can fix the PC if I pay. Why they can't fix the when my PC is under warranty? It is just a month old PC. Purely of hardware failure. Not a bad manipulation.
Am on trip in my business trip and am not able to use my PC for two days now. Lose business here. Technical support should help the customer to correct the problem. Do not deprive us.
Can someone help me? Is there anyway that I can get this fixed number in India. I must travel to the Cayman Islands in another 10 days.
Will be my request reache lenovo?

I had to send the laptop to the Malaysia through my friend for the service and got the replaced HDD/SSD. Now, works great.

  • Yoga 3 Pro - automatically change the mode when reversing my Yoga 3 Pro

    Hello world.

After a new installation from scratch on Windows 10 which incredibly fixed a lot of issues and boosted the performance of Yoga 3 Pro I, one thing still in my list of problem.

For some reason any when I flip tent mode or in tablet mode, it will automatically in tablet mode, and I have to do it manually.
The work of all the drivers, no problem with the rotation of the screen or anything else, I have activated the function "don't ask me and automatically activate tablet mode" in the system settings, but that doesn't change anything.

He just format my PC and use harmony no more? I am of ideas at the moment.

    Thank you in advance!

  • Installing drivers Lenovo no? Yoga 2 Pro - video drivers for DX 11 games

So, I use a Yoga 2 Pro. I love this laptop / Tablet what you want to call it, but the biggest problem I always seem to have is related to video games. I realize this isn't a game system, but it would be nice to play some.

The game I'm most interested in playing is civilaztion 5. CIV 5 joined in the tactile controls game great and works great as a game of Tablet. However, because screen super high resolution of the Yoga 2 Pro, I am unable to run the game in full resolution. The best compromise is 1600 x 900. The issue is that launch the game with the forces of active controls touch game live x 11 mode. Direct X 11 mode, running at a resolution not standard messes with scaling of display. So I find myself with a small box centered in the middle of the screen surrounded by black bars, instead of the lowest resolution, the scale of the display.

There is a work around, which is to introduce the resolution 1920 x 1080 via the Panel of control intel everything first before running the game, but it is a pain.

This seems to be a driver problem, but lenovo does not seem to care never update of drivers as the latest drivers that seem to all come from October or November. I tried to install the intel drivers directly from Intel (which should work fine), but lenovo clearly has some block put in place to prevent the installation of unauthorized drivers.

So if anyone knows a solution to my problem or a way to install these drivers, that would be great, thanks!

Go to Device Manager, display driver and from there uninstall the driver currently installed. You will then be able to install the new Intel display driver. :-)

May need to restart before and after...

Not sure if the latest drivers will solve the problem you have.

It is not a problem to switch to a different resolution, it of just a few clicks, but to change the scale display so requires you to close the session, which is a chore. If the game does not need to change the display scale you use a resolution of 3200 x 1800 so you can just temporarily change resolution each time you play the game...

  • Yoga 2 Pro - very slow Wifi, ~0.74Mbps - 3Mbps

Hi, I've had my Yoga 2 Pro for a few weeks now and I thought it was my imagination until I decided to perform a speed test. The wifi on the laptop is really slow. Run the speed test (speedtest.net) on my desk I have 17.5Mbps, while on my yoga 2 pro I get various ones between 0.75 and 3Mbps.

It would have taken me well over an hour to download the latest drivers wifi. Instead, I downloaded on my desktop and put on my laptop HARD drive.

Whatever it is, the latest drivers did not fix the problem of slowness, I have tried many "patches" on the thread on the wifi of a fall, and performance, but unfortunately nothing worked.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem? I'm bordering on his return it if I can't get it resolved soon.

Don't you hate it when you manage to solve a problemn moments after you ask for help?

I now have my speed test 2 of Yoga Pro 17Mbps.

I installed and used wifi Intel connections Manager is opposite to the windows one.

    That's all...

    Hope this helps someone else!

  • Acrobat XI very slow on Yoga 3 Pro

I noticed that Adobe Acrobat XI is very slow on the Yoga 3 Pro. More precisely lag when zooming in and out, panning, scrolling and fullscreen. This is particularly evident with full screen and quite annoying in tablet mode. However, with the same files PDF using the Microsoft Reader application does NOT have this delay.

What I then discovered is that this has something to do with the Core M processor and get its limited power. If you change the power plan in OneKey high performance optimizer (from symmetrical, for example), Acrobat becomes suddenly quite catchy.

Mode Tablet, if you just want to read a PDF file (and use Acrobat), you need not 'high performance', in order to extend unfortunately bad Yoga 3 Pro, you want to put in balanced or Power Saver - that should still be enough to read PDF files, but it is not the case with Acrobat XI unfortunately.

I don't know what CPU limiting, of the power management feature is causing this issue in Acrobat, but I thought I would post this because I couldn't find anything on the internet about this issue.

Yes, the CPU is a bit of a brake on the Y3P and Acrobat is not the lightest suite. Although in principle, balanced expected clock upwards at full speed under load.

Have you checked the minimum/maximum values of CPU on the profile balanced in the Advanced Power Options?

I'm also a fan of reading with SumatraPDF; It relies on the muPDF Super light and super fast to make PDF files, but does not support the PDF editing features or fanciful as forms.

  • Install the words with friends on the Yoga 3 Pro

Cannot install words with friends on my new Yoga 3 Pro (Windows 8.1). Installation requires Adobe Flash Player, but it is already installed. Have seen recommendations to uninstall Windows Update KB3004150 but this update is not present.

Thank you. These steps did not help, but I found the problem. Your first post was relevant. I downloaded the "PC Apps Store" application. Wrong store! One is labeled "Store". I don't know why no relevant 'PC Apps Store' appears on the initial list of Apps for Windows 8.1 PC.

  • Yoga 2 Pro - how to get Windows 8.1 recovery disks

    Hi all.

I just bought a Yoga 2 Pro and immediately wiped the drive and installed Debian on it (which works very well.)

While I can't imagine going back me to Windows, it would be useful to have the recovery of Windows 8.1 (or USB) disks available, just in case. (Money-back guarantee, sell to someone, etc.)

Unfortunately, during the installation of Debian, the recovery partition has been deleted, so I can't create the recovery/USB disks myself. How can I get a copy of the recovery disks?

Good day and welcome to the community.

For support of factory image recovery, you will need to contact the Service (info below). There may be a fee for the media.

    Kind regards.
