After several accidents, we were able to trace the issue to an antivirus product. The trigger was transfer or download a file using com.apple.WebKit. Finally in one of the accidents, the antivirus application has been cited. After changing the anti-virus products, it was more a problem.

Firefox started crashing on startup today ' hui - goes directly to the Crash Reporter. Does not correctly send the accident report. Firefox in safe mode does not help. Tried to uninstall followed by clean install, no change. Tried to clean the installation of an earlier version 41, 0 - no change.

Just before what happened got an opinion on Norton Toolbar, and I chose not to activate it.

Have also tried to turn Norton turned off before reinstalling - no change. Also said Norton to ignore xul.dll, which sometimes he puts in quarantine during updates (detection of false suspects cloud 9).

Hmm, Yes, incident reports are old now.

As long as I can guess, I note something that is coming a lot lately: If you use Norton Security software, it seems to be a serious boot problem crash if you also have a program called Freecorder from Applian Technologies. If you find Freecorder in your Start menu > all programs or in your control panel, uninstall a program, and it is not crucial to keep it, please try to delete it. You have to maybe stop and restart Windows to make sure that it is completely disabled.

  • C: drive guard fill due to Mozilla Crash Reports

    Hello

Recently, my C: drive keeps filling due to the huge amounts of Crash Reports generated by Mozilla. In a couple of hours use I'm filling 2-3 GB of space.

    I've identified the culprits are ' * .dmp ' files located in c:\Documents and Settings\Myusername\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\pending.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but the problem is still there. I have never had this problem before, but noticed that my C: drive has started to encounter this problem when I added "Ghostery" and "Blocker of Script" as add-on.

I disabled the blocker script, but that did not help either. Can someone please advise as to why Firefox started to create thousands of dump files at all of a sudden?

    Thank you

OK well first off the power, remove your anti-virus. I don't know why it appears in there but iolo is not a good anti-virus. We are going to use something like Microsoft security essentials.

After that uninstall the Google Talk plugin. You should be able to do it from the windows control panel.

Now, restart your computer, you still crashes? If this is not the case, try reinstalling google talk and see if it happens again.

In the window that launches, scroll down and double-click on folder sessionstore-backups . Save all the files here to a safe place, such as your Documents folder, if Firefox does not replace them. We may be able to use to recover your lost tabs.

In addition, if you return to the main floor of the profile folder, you can find some files sessionstore. Copy to the safe location as well.

Could you report what you found?

Note: If Windows hides the .js on your part file extension, you can change a setting so that you can see all the file extensions (this helps to rename files). This support article has the steps: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/865219 or http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hide-file-name-extensions

The types of files that you can find among your sessionstore-backup files are:

    • Recovery.js: the windows and tabs in your Firefox session currently live (or, if Firefox is closed, your last session)
    • Recovery.bak: a backup copy of recovery.js
    • Previous.js: the windows and tabs in your last session in Firefox
    • Upgrade.js -build_id: windows and tabs in Firefox that was alive at the time of your last update session

How do I recover from this?

Is it possible to revert to a previous version?

You can download the previous version of . mozilla.org and install it. After that revert to your previous version, you can check your incident reports to see what was causing the problem via help-> troubleshooting information...

  • Disable the Crash Reporter

When the browser crashes, it is possible that some of the data from sensitive web applications or sites may be included in a crash report. So some companies want reports disabled if the browser is used to access sensitive data.
Except disabling Crash reporting user interface, I can't find a configuration line to disable the accident reports - can I put it breakpad.reportURL to null and to set HKCU\Software\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reporter\SubmitCrashReport = 0 (on windows) whenever the user connects. Is there a way to turn off crash reporting permanently so that when a new profile is created it is not re-enabled?

Thank you, it seems that if a MOZ_CRASHREPORTER_DISABLE environment variable will do what is desired.

  • I have crash reporting off, but still not the popup every time - how can I remove crash reporting altogether?

    Win7/FF31

    Thank you
    CC

Thanks - I guess it's a way of saying that I have to continue to manually uncheck the box every time. So I guess I should change my question to "what is the point of having a 'crash reporting enabled' option setting if I still disable it manually every time?"

Edit > shortly after I posted FF crashed again. This time the check box is unchecked (correct behavior). Please disregard above - I'll mark it resolved and re-post if problem persists...

  • Mozila Crash Reporter

    Hello
I have installed firefox in my windows 7 when I click on the icon of firefox crash reporter suddenly appears every time browser does not open, but I can't able to open in safe mode, it works fine.

    report ID: bp-a184f3d6-2237-41a6-87e8-4064b2140805

Looks like a problem with hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

You must close and restart Firefox after enabling/disabling this setting.

  • Firefox crash reporter crashes into an endless loop

I uninstalled all the firefox / aurora relies and deleted my profile. Then reinstalled firefox 30, 31 and 32 of Aurora. Each of them break at startup in an infinite loop. I suspect the TI guys maybe installed updates on my computer today that may be the root cause, but I don't know which.

    Just for notes:

There is a bug filed on this

Basically, it is a problem with Digital Guardian not supporting stable not built but rather ESR only.
    Christopher of Verdasys said
The conflict between Firefox and Verdasys Digital Guardian is due to Digital Guardian supporting only the ESR of Firefox versions. If you encounter a problem with Firefox and Verdasys Digital Guardian please have your contact to open Digital Guardian support organizations a support incident with the support of Verdasys for more information on a proposed work around.

If you are in an organization with their own COMPUTER service, you should contact your IT Department and ask them to switch you to the version of ESR of Firefox

However, WE cannot give you the solution because Verdasys was not able to give the solution to workaround for Mozilla, since it is only for the customers of the DG.

Verdasys Digital Guardian is a security software, we cannot discuss his duties with someone else then authorized contacts. We can configure around this problem, however, in order to inform customers of this method, they will open a support with the support of Verdasys incident. When an authorized contact opens an incident we provide suggested around work.

  • Everytime I open Firefox 29.0.1 I get the screen crash report why

Everytime I open Firefox 29.0.1 I Get the screen crash report I want to restore the tabs, as far as I know that Firefox crashed. This started after I upgraded to Ver 29.0.1

Rather than do a uninstall complete, you can try this:

    Create a new Firefox profile

A new profile will be your plugins installed by system (for example, Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions or other customizations. It should also have databases of completely fresh settings and cool a cache folder.

Out of Firefox and start in the profile using Start Manager > Search box (or run):

    firefox.exe -P

Any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.

Click on the button create a profile. I recommend using the default location suggested, in other words, do not click the button to choose a different folder. Then launch Firefox in the new profile that you have created.

If you browse around, exit, reboot, etc, the problem continues?

When you return to the Profile Manager to return to your normal profile, you might be tempted to use the button to delete the profile. It's a little too easy to accidentally delete your 'real' profile, so I recommend you to resist the temptation. If you don't want to clean up later, I suggest to make a backup of all your profiles first in case something go wrong.
