10.11.2 monitor insignia HDMI problem

My insignia TV/monitor HDMI that I use for my secondary screen worked perfectly until I upgraded to El Capitan (Betas and now 10.11.2).

Setup: TV/monitor has two HDMI connections. Input HDMI1 is the VCR to the TV. HDMI2 comes the MacPro on television.

Problem: If I switch the input on the TV screen between the two sources (decoder on the HDMI input), the MacPro does not recognize/initialize the monitor/TV.

The only solution is to get the MacPro to see that the monitor shall ensure that the monitor/TV is set to HDMI2 and restart the MacPro and then it works fine. Until I pass the entries still of course.

  • The main screen becomes secondary in a Setup dual monitor (DVI-HDMI)

Original title: WINDOWS PROGRAMMERS: problem with OS Windows7 not being not able change the numbers of identifiers when using multiple screens and HDMI

To be clear... This problem is with the Win7 OS - no video card GUI that allow to change number ID display on multiple monitors.

Problem with several screens and the use of HDMI cables substituent and #1 assuming that for its corresponding display view identifier.

    Not always ID desired.

But there is no way to change this.

    EXAMPLE:

Monitor is configured as primary display (ID #1) using a DVI cable

Then I connect my SONY Bravia or my LG HDTV displays using HDMI cables, the new screen automatically takes over as the display identifier #1 and the monitor becomes identifier #2.

-This introduces to the identifiers is not something I want, need or want to deal with every time I use several displays. And it creates problems.

There is NO way to correct or modify the identifiers.

Please provide a FIX as soon as possible if you have an ounce of concern for the customer service.

The solution can be as simple as:

GO to THE control panel - appearance and customization - display - change display settings:

Right CLICK... on one of the displays in the window to the left of "Detect" / "identify."

Then the OPTION 'Change display login' with a list of relevant identifier numbers according to the number of multiple connected screens.

    Click 'apply '.

    Hi Jean-Pierre.

Thank you for all the information related to the issue.

This problem may occur if the display of the configuration settings dual monitor retain the configuration. Possible reasons could be installed on the computer outdated display driver.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer or the graphics card?
    2. Are you using double display card? Sometimes changing the display settings for the display cards might solve the problem.

First of all, if you have a display of the map or media panel installed on the computer, go to the control panel and change the setting under multiple display change. Assign the identity number according to the status monitor, then check if it retains the configuration when you restart the computer.

Additionally, make sure that you have installed the latest version of the display driver for Windows 7 from the website of the manufacturer of the computer. Sometimes, if the driver is not being updated, the setting may not keep the entire installation. See the link to know how to update the driver on Windows 7:

  • Max Resolution for external monitor via HDMI on Lenovo Y700?

    Hello

I hope that someone has experience with external monitors on a computer laptop y700.

I would like to ask if my laptop Y700 supports resolutions higher than 1920 x 1080 for external displays via HDMI.

    My model is:

    https://www.Amazon.de/Lenovo-i5-6300HQ-quad-core-Prozessor-Betriebssystem/DP/B016QB9HZK/ref=sr_1_2?i...

    I want to use a monitor with a resolution of: 2560 x 1080

    https://www.Amazon.de/DP/B00TF0X37I/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&ColId=31RP1ZDSM66ZA&colii...

Is this possible with my laptop. And it is even possible to connect a 4K screen?

Thanks in advance for your help.

So finally, I tried to connect my laptop to a 2560 x 1080 widescreen-resolution-display via HDMI in an electronics store:

THIS MARKET! It is not a problem to run it with 2560 x 1080 at 60 Hz. The only problem might be a 4K resolution screen that it only works with 30 Hz, because it's an HDMI 1.4 port.

  • Smaller with the 2511 X HP monitor screen HDMI cable?

Hi people, I have a desktop HP p6230f, Windows 7 64-bit o/s and a GPU ATI Radeon HD 5770. I had no problem with it until last night. Finally, I changed my DVI cable connecting the monitor to the computer during an HDMI cable.

I have a picture of a 1 "wide black on three of the four sides of the screen! For example; If I drag an icon on my desktop or one of the items in my sidebar to the outer edges of the screen, they begin to disappear behind a blackened by the section of the frame of the screen about 1 "of the actual plastic mount that make up the structure of the entire screen!

Now that 1 "size approximate but the width of the glass of the monitor is 21 3/4 but I can get about 20" of the real, usable, the screen display and 12 1/4 inches monitor glass vertically measured I can get about 11 1/8 inches of usable display! This means that I get less of 23 "usable display when measured diagonally.

I already checked the monitor to the HDMI settings and I don't see nothing wrong in the settings of Windows 7. I'm about to reinstall the driver for the monitor, but I seriously doubt that will work.

Also, I noticed that all my fonts and size of my desktop icons are smaller than they were before the change. I know how to enlarge them all but the problem is that they seem to keep back to the small size when I shut down the computer and start it back up.

Now, it is possible that the problem is not related to the HDMI cord and I'm only note this 1 "black frame on each side and the top of my screen for other reasons unrelated to the monitor HDMI cable.

So yes, I'll reinstall the DVI cable and see if that makes a difference, but even if it does, my question is; Why this would happen when connected to the HDMI cord, (I will also check the drivers of the HD 5770)

    Thank you

HAH! It wasn't my imagination! Just when I was about to throw in the towel and admit that I was imagining all this and he went even to pull demand for assistance on the site I found the problem.

For those who can run in this one day in the future, the resolution is in the "AMD Vision Engine Control Center" . I had lost my settings because I got an error of starting due to my inability to follow directions on a USB HUB, I added to the system last night*.

On the left of this Panel of the user is a number of adjustments, you can do on a good many things involving graphs including the monitor you are using. Just click on the box entitled 'My digital flat screens' and Tin the drop-down list, click on "Options of scaling (Digital Flat Panel).

You will see a slider that lets you adjust the scale yourself, or you can put a check in the box and have done automatically. If you use the cursor like I did, drag it over to the full adjustment right up to '0% overscan. As you do that you will see on the screen grow to fill the entire display window, (every 25 inches diagonal of it).

That's all! Click "Apply" and you're done. This issue is resolved.

** (that's another story, but the short of it is that you do not want to add devices to the HUB USB FRONT that the new hub will load its drivers!).

  • connection of two monitor using hdmi cables

    hp Hello Forum

I want to connect two monitors using two hdmi cables, hdmi to dvi cable and an external graphics card.  The problem is, I don't know where to start? (what to connect to what?) I can do if I have easy to follow instructions or illustrations would be gr8, thanks in advance :-)

Sorry... I just noticed that we have discussed your configuration before. May I ask if the previously suggested configuration did not work? What prompted the purchase of the USB graphic card?

    Display USB adapters are designed mainly for the non-graphiquement intense... Adding screens for things like spreadsheets, documents word, daytrading, presentations, etc. The display adapter using USB can cause a lower performance than using the native chart AMD Radeon HD 7570 card. I suggest that you avoid using the USB graphic card, if possible. Depending on your selection of available cables, if suggests using one of the following configurations;

    (1) computer > HDMI cable > monitor and the computer > cable DVI > monitor (recommended)

    or

    (2) computer > HDMI cable > monitor and the computer > DVI-HDMI cable > monitor

  • Latitude 10 - ST2 Dock HDMI problems

I just pulled up on my docking station and found that it worked perfectly out of the box.  Unlike some others who have had problems, I felt lucky until I tried to get the HDMI to work with my Dell monitor.

It's about that simple, the monitor does not detect a device and the device does not detect an HDMI monitor.  I've updated the BIOS and drivers Intel for the latest versions from today and still nothing.  I'd appreciate any advice or experiences like mine that could help me to get this resolved.

Quick update on my situation.  I was able to get the dock running after realizing that you cannot convert HDMI in Display Port, only the opposite.  My monitor DELL Professional is not HDMI, there a display Port.  Not sure who came up with this idea, but it seems that HDMI is a standard that is good enough to not have to create another.

In any case, I was using a HDMI Display Port adapter--> and after reading upwards, is that you can convert only the signal in a way.  Turns out the other way, of what I was trying.  If you have a video card that has a display out Port, you can use this adapter to convert to HDMI.  I do in fact with another computer of mine.  However, if you have a monitor with a Display Port, you can not convert HDMI Port to display in this way.

Anyway, I ended up finding a DVI switch and turned the HDMI/DVI monitor and everything works fine.  It's a little weird for the signal on the screen, but as you mention, if you start the camera on the dock, it seems to detect the signal.  Without that, it seems random as to if the signal is getting sent to the monitor.  Sometimes, the monitor just says not: 'no signal' until I have restart the device.

Thank you all for the contributions.

  • Latitude E6440 display blink when connect you to an external monitor via hdmi to VGA Converter

    Hi Dell Community,

Please help me diagnose what's wrong with my new laptop.

My laptop is Dell Latitude E6440, but whenever I connect external monitor to my laptop HDMI via HDMI port to the converter VGA, the external monitor still flashes randomly every two seconds. This VGA HDMI converter / works fine when I used it on the other laptop.

Currently I still have the chance to try my laptop HDMI port to connect directly to a HDMI monitor because I don't.

Is it that someone has the same problem with me? Thanks for your help.

Dell currently manufactures replacements of main card to resolve this problem. They will be available at the end of July. Please make sure you have a current subscription and contact support to be eligible for replacement.

  • 2nd monitor and HDMI

    2nd monitor

Why can I not use the HDMI port to connect a second monitor?   I have a XPS 8700.

It won't let me even turn on your computer if I have my TV or second monitor plugged into the HDMI port.     I have not had any problems with my laptop.   The satellite on HDMI monitor and he was there.    I am struggling with this for hours.

    Hello

Thanks for writing on the Dell Community Forum.

May I know if you use the HDMI port integrated on the motherboard or graphics card?

If you have a card installed, then the built-in HDMI port would not work. Also check if the input of the monitor options is selected in HDMI.

If the monitor is connected to the HDMI port graphics card and if you still can't get the screen, try to please update the graphics card drivers and tables also re - map graphic if possible.

    BRACO

    Rauls

    Hi Rauls,

XPS 14z has a mini DisplayPort located next to the HDMI port. You will need to use a min-DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable to connect the monitor to the laptop.

You will need to use a DisplayPort HDMI converter / as provided in the link below, if you want to connect the monitor to the HDMI port:

  • External monitor (projector HDMI) not recognized in CC AE or AE CS6 with the new Macbook Pro

You have a very difficult problem that maybe someone can help me find a solution.  I had an old Macbook Pro (2009-ish) I was using with AE and my HDMI projector to do the work of projection mapping.  The laptop computer motherboard used recently (not linked, I don't think) but now I bought a new Macbook Pro and am trying to use the HDMI output to the projector as my external monitor in After Effects (I tried both CC and CS5.5 and CS6). Under Preview video it does not appear as an option to send to (the choices are computer monitor only or Firewire).

I'm a mess that I'm supposed to do a show tonight with the installation I did many times with my old Macbook and AE and now can't do it at all. I have to be able to have the projector receive EI feed - and nothing I've done so far has helped. The system sees the projector, then why doesn't AE?  I can't drag the window of the program in the projector window space and expand - there must be exactly 1920 x 1080 in order for me align correctly.

If there is Adobe TAPI people this morning, I'd CERTAINLY appreciate your comments, as well as any other person who might have had similar problems. It should work, it should be a no-brainer. Right now I'm running a new STANDARD Apple Macbook Pro with HDMI output and the latest version of AE CC with all updates done. Please, please help!

    Thanks in advance,

    Bill

After Effects does not come with components for an HDMI output.

Your other computer must have installed additional components that adds this functionality.
