  I have a few APs 1242AG to convert standalone in LWAPP mode. The conversion tool (v 3.4) keeps giving me an error saying that there is a list of firewall or preventing work TFTP access.

  I need to convert a "AIR-LAP1242AG-E-K9" autonomous access point.

  I tried these steps to convert the LWAP in stand-alone.

  1 assigned IP 10.0.0.3 address to my laptop

  2. place the IOS image in the cisco TFTP server "c1240-k9w7 - tar.default.

  3 disabled all firewall on my laptop

  4 cut the AP and pressed the reset button and started with the AP and released the button reset after 40 seconds

  5 TFTP showed the attached error

  Please let me know how can I convert the stand-alone LWAP. I need to do as soon as POSSIBLE.

  Make sure that you PC works on your TFTP server is set to show extensions of known files. If not even after you rename the image file that the .tar extension is still there, just hidden.

  I'm having some trouble trying to get a new 2702i to convert standalone / autonomous mode.

  I did what most of the articles say you should do. First SSH into AP, have it search the ios file that needs to be renamed to .default. (full name: ap3g2-k9w8 - tar.default)

  What is happening is that the AP starts shooting the TFTP and then restarts. However when it restarts I can't ssh in the AP.

  In my view, he pulls the same IP address or a different IP address, but I can't ssh or get webaccess in the Console AP. does not work either. I use a USB cable to the console that I know works. Here's the log to download the new file from the tftp

  Be aware that the independent IOS for the 2700 has limited features. Since the 2700 is a novelty, the standalone IOS is wireless site-only for investigation.  It is not intended to serve the customers as of yet.

  You check out image ap3g2-k9w8 - tar.default starting from tftp, and such image is not just convert to standalone.

  (k9w7 is a stand-alone Image), you need to download this image.

  Is in the WLAN network as two configured SSID, one for a printers and another for a PC. It is possible to ping the printer form LAN but not PC WLAN. It is not the ACL set. Is no chance of routing between WLAN on WLC? The firewall is a layer 3 device in the network.

  The controller is 2112 with 7.0.98 version of the software and all APs are in local mode. The network is flat with 16 bit mask.

  The second problem is that on the Wi - Fi network that precedes some AP (1231) are converted to standalone AP mode LAP.
  The network has been added to an another TOWER 1242 with external antenna.
  A PC with WI - Fi wants to connect to the new TOWER even has a bad signal.
  1231 model has only one external antenna and is closer than 1242.
  How do to impose this PC is always connect to 1231, is possible to configure on WLC?

  Hi Kelly,

  1) check on the 'blocking of the peer to peer' option on the configuration of your SSID. You want to disable.

  (2) the customer himself decides where it wants to connect. If she's stupid drivers that make it to connect to an access point not 'best' you can not do much.

  Only things you can do:

  -updated client drivers

  -enable or disable the load balancing across WLC. There is no best setting. Basically load balancing prevents clients to connect to APs that are already occupied. So, if it is currently enabled, maybe your AP 1230 is occupied?

However, when I go to start the virtual machine it says its powerd with problem but with the console open he'll never even to windows startup screen is just a black box with a cursor blinking and that is as far as it goes. .. I tried a couple times and is always the same. Please give some ideas to go. I don't see even a mistake to offer.

  Then start in AD restore mode (to make sure that AD is stopped).
