4 - 1215dx the envy Drive 8 locking windows

I have a HP Envy 4-1215dx that I want to do a factory on after restore Windows 8 would no longer start.

When my Windows 8 has stopped working I could access is no longer the recovery partitions and the options on my laptop. I popped in a CD of Windows 8 via USB and tried to preform a drink only to get an error saying that I can't do anything on the disc as it was locked. I also tried to download a normal version of windows 8, just to see if it works and found that the application form where to place the facility was empty. I preformed then a check of the HARD disk hardware and both discs came out without any problem. Then, I took the back cover and disconnected the 500 GB HARD drive, which prompted the RAID Manager to ask if I wanted to take off the RAID for the small SSD or to leave it alone, because I don't have a lot of experience setting up the small SSD for working with HARD drive, I left alone. Something that caught my attention was that he says that all information should be destroyed with the exception of the recovery partition.

So if I destroyed the RAID, could only unlock the SSD for me? That would also open the partition recovery for me as well? This recovery would set the RAID as well?

Buy the $60 for my PC recovery CD will arrange everything to?

I've never really messed with RAID before and I'm about to nuke just the 500 GB drive and just reinstall a new version of Windows 8 on it and call it a day, but I'll save it for last. My HDD test I used load windows 8 very well when he was preloaded on the HARD drive, so I know this isn't the PC itself, its what raid which is moving the process here.

If after you remove the RAID flags on two disks, I can now see the two discs during reinstallation of Windows 8 64. Looks like the only way to solve a Windows 8 drive lock is the destruction of a disc format. Same thing happened on my Lenovo T430 after update BIOS to make it work better with Windows 8 too. This the reader's gaze is a terrible thing, especially when there is no way (or fear as no way I found during my Google searches) to unlock the drive and everything remains intact.

Thank you BHK6 to confirm that the recovery of $65 dear (Inludes Shipping) disc would replace how to leave the factory. (when I saw the final price for a disc that was initially "free" when I bought the PC at $65, I think I heard my cry of portfolio out in pain just a bit...) Teach to misplace a recovery again disc!)

I'll be this marking as "sloved" and will now look how configure RAID with WIndows 8 (should be fun). Thanks again, I'll check back periodically to see if anyone at - he found a better way to unlock a Windows 8 hard while keeping the data, as it seems to be triggered by almost anything that messes with the BIOS or the operating system when updating.

  • How can I boot from the Windows 7 Installation CD so that I can reformat the hard drive before reinstalling Windows 7?

How can I boot from the Windows 7 Installation CD so that I can reformat the hard drive before reinstalling Windows 7?  I have already reinstalled Windows 7 from the CD, but that has not solved my problems.  When I put the factory CD in my CD player, it won't always boot from the CD.  When I put my Windows 7 Ultimate CD in the CD drive, it doesn't always start from the CD.         I realize that the reformatting is not always necessary, but I caught a few viruses (despite anti-virus running) and I need to start with a clean hard drive.

You must go into the BIOS and change the boot on CD order

How to get into your BIOS? It is not dependent on Windows, but on what he

  • Satellite A660 - 1 H 7 - How to replace the hard drive and reinstall Windows 7

    Hi all

I'm frequently getting warnings about the health of my hard drive and while it is not catastrophic, I've been umming and ahhing (?) on the replacement of an SSD in the future anyway so thought it was a good excuse.

My real question is, what the procedure is perfect (or greater) for Windows 7 migration to the new drive? I think I want a default installation because this laptop has had so many programs installed/uninstalled it's probably a bit of a mess.

I have created 4 recovery DVD disks but have seen on the net they don't work and that download an ISO with the vignette product key can work either. I can't really afford interruption much (or all) so I try to do it safely and securely as possible!

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks for your time,.
    Scott

    > what the procedure is perfect (or greater) for Windows 7 migration to the new drive?

I think the fastest solution is the use of the recovery disk that you created using the recovery media creator Toshiba. I don't see a reason why it should not work as part of a new SSD.

    I also have another recommendation.
You can create an image of your current HDD (partitions) using internal Windows 7 Backup and restore
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/backup-and-restore

After using the recovery disk, you can use the created image to get the current status.

  • Do you need to partition the hard drive to install Windows Vista Home Premium?

I try to install Vista Home Premium on a Dell XPS 420 desktop computer and want to know if the hard disk must be partitioned before that I can do?

If I need to, how to do?

    Thank you.

You need at least a partition on the hard drive before you install OS, using management of build-in the windows disk, but there a lot of limit, if it could not reach your goal, you could use the 3rd party freeware

Or can I restore my office before you install Windows 7 in the first place when it's new?

    Kind regards

    Bert Pooler

Yes, you can restore the State as it was when new...

Your computer is equipped with a recovery instead of disk partition...

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

You may need to try several times to get everything above to work. If after several attempts, you have no chance, or the machine indicates that there is no recovery partition, your only option is to contact the computer manufacturer and ask for the model recovery discs...

After the reset, you should get all the updates from Windows Update EXCEPT for hardware devices. Then, you install a good antivirus. ONLY AFTER you have done this, if you replace the stuff of backups or install anything else.

  • my computer asks me to fix a problem with the graphics driver intel but windows tells me solution can not be downloaded

computer crashed and rebooted itself. I first started in safe mode, and the computer did not find any problems but had sent a report anyway.

To restart normally, the center of the action (or as I would say, Center!; - p), has been asking me to scan with windows defender and a problem with the graphic driver intel. Scanned well, but to solve the problem, said action solution Center could not be downloaded. I am most definitely connected to the internet and have tried to solve this question many times during approximately the last 18hours?
    Help would be much appreciated?

Good suggestion but I tried this, had to go the manufacturer of the laptop, but still no luck. Think he was playing tricks on me in any case, as seemed to be resolved with a full audit of the system and diagnosis.

  • increase in size of the C drive after installing windows 8 pro, why?

my C drive partition volume is 92 Go, he had a lot of space before moving on to windows 8 from windows 7, after installation, I've seen the size of my c drive has only 5.33 GB free, why has happened?

    Thank you
I did it but the problem did not solve.my of free disk space is 2.24 GB, it's very weak. I have a question, I saw my C drive, I saw a folder named windows.old, what is? its volume is almost 18 GB. can I remove it?
Another problem I have are not wanter to add some more space to drive to another partition, I cut 50 GB of drive D and built a new primary partition but I can't merge the C drive, what should I do to add a disk space? (I used the computer management/disk management and also Acronis disk Director)

Windows.Old stores your old Windows installation. You can use it to recover files or reinstall the previous version of Windows. If all your data has been migrated to Windows 8 safely, you can remove:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/how-remove-Windows-old-folder

This should give you more space.

If you want to gain extra space, you need to use a third party tool like Easeus

Download Easeus at the following link

EASEUS Partition Master Home Edition - http://download.cnet.com/Easeus-Partition-Manager-Home-Edition/3000-2248_4-10863346.html

    ------------------------

Proceed with the installation of Easeus:

Click Next, follow the easy on-screen instructions.

Once the installation is finished, click on finish

Click go to the main screen

Select the drive you want to resize in partition window

Drag the button until you have an amount of disk space you need, then release desired.

Click on apply to apply the changes that you just made.

    Click Yes

    Click Yes

Your computer will restart several times and changes will be made to the layout of the partition, this process is hands-free, so no interaction is required.
