4090 XCDT - Boot by disc

Hello

I own a 4090 XCDT with Win2K.
The win32k.sys file on the HARD disk is damaged. If Win does not, in any case.
On the HARD drive, I have a copy of all the files system victory. So normally I will just copy my win32k.sys to its original place.

Problem:
My 4090 does not start from floppy or the CD. Only the start of the HARD drive - so I can't access all files on the HARD drive.
When I remove the HARD drive and then the computer boots from floppy. My Toshiba utility-disc is without an operating system, so I can't start with them.

Is there any solution that I can boot up my system disk with INSTALLED HARD disk?

Thanks a lot for any suspicion.

Greetings
Michael

Hello

If you want to start the unit by using the startup disk, please change the boot priority in the BIOS settings. When starting press ESC button and hold the button. On this way, you will be able to enter the BIOS settings.

Also until the size will it bear?

    Hi Steve

I can't give you specific information about 20 GB of HARD drive, but I know that 8 GB of HARD drive will be recognized by the BIOS and it will not work properly. One of my friends has 4100XCDT and it works with 20 GB HARD drive with no problems.

My opinion is that you should take some information from partners of service or Google around and I'm sure you can find HARD drive provider that can give you good information. I know that it is possible to built in the HARD drives to high capacity for older machines, but how exactly I can not explain.

    Hello

You can boot from another drive? Maybe that Windows 7 is noisy and so it can t be read correctly.
    Check this box!

If you want to downgrade from 64 bit to 32 bit you do a fresh install. This means that you need to clean your current Windows partition so backup all files first!

I try to install Debian GNU/Linux on my Windows 8 Ideapad Z710, and I can not even my laptop to boot from an external support. InsydeH20 Setup utility, I have so far disabled Secure Boot, set the boot in UEFI, compatible USB Boot, Mode a PXE on LAN boot enabled and set my EFI boot to the EFI network order) 1 0 for IPv4, network EFI 2) 0 for IPv6, then (3) no other options) Windows Boot Manager. I'm not actually trying to boot from a network, I want to just start from the built-in DVD player or my DVD USB drive. When I boot with these settings, I get the error: network EFI 0 for IPv4 (...) initialization failed, and a similar one for IPv6, then it starts with Windows. Why I can't boot from DVD or USB?

Another thing I tried is affecting Boot Legacy Support and Boot Priority to first legacy Mode (with Secure Boot disabled) which translates my computer laptop startup in directly to Windows even when ODD USB appears first in the boot order.

Please tell me how to start on a Linux DVD or a USB on this machine! It's a major purchase for me, and if I can't install Linux on it, this laptop is completely useless for me. Please answer.

    Try this:

try using the original recovery CD. Install the original software (Win 98 I guess) and check if it still the same. If Yes, then I guess you have a problem with your keyboard or keyboard. If this isn't the case, then I'm completely lost.

It's actually pretty simple. The method you described does not work because it is not is not a bootable flash drive.

  • Z820 - BIOS updated to v2.55 - cannot start or install the installation of Windows 7 (UEFI) disc

    Hello

I have serious problems with the boot and install Windows 7 on my Z820.

My problems started with Windows Boot Manager, throwing an error in the boot, saying that "the Windows Boot Configuration data file is missing required information". In the end, I decided to do a full clean reinstall of WIndows. However, I was unable to get Windows 7 installed. I was able to boot the disc at retail of Windows 7 64-bit UEFI mode, but he had problems with the installation. Each attempt ended with an error stating that 'Windows could not update the configuration to start the computer. Installation cannot continue. ».

It was the BIOS v2.08. Intel 520 (240 GB) SSD as boot drive and 2 TB SATA HARD drive as data disc on the ports of controller LSI 2308 0 and 1 respectively. 2 DVD players on Intel AHCI ports.

I decided to take a different path.

I removed my data HDD and a DVD of the Z820 player. I put my SSD (which will become the startup disk) and a DVD player on both ports to AHCI.

I've updated the Z820 BIOS with the latest version (v2.55, February 13, 2013), did a reset CMOS (machined cable disconnected) and reset the BIOS to factory default settings. Then, I put 'OptionROM mass storage' mode EFI and the storage on AHCI mode.

Now, when I put in retail Windows 7 SP1 64-bit installation DVD and select the drive of DVD (UEFI) to start, I get just a flashing dash. I noticed also that some fans begin immediately turn faster.

    To summarize:

I am unable to boot Windows 7 SP1 64 bit DVD installation detail at all and therefore impossible to install Windows 7.

Configuration of the system (as in the last installation attempt):

    -Dual Xeon E5-2680

    -32 GB OF RAM DDR3-1600 PC3-12800

-240 GB SSD IDE AHCI Intel oucederomsurlesecondport 520

    DVD player - Harbour AHCI

    -NVIDIA Quadro 4000

-BIOS v2.55 (OptionROM in EFI, Secure Boot disabled mode mass storage)

    I'm getting desperate... ;-)

Should I try reseating the RAM modules? Remove some RAM? Connect my monitor differently (currently DVI to VGA)? Replace the graphics card?

    Kind regards

    Dries

In the safety device is the LSI controller set to device available and under device options is Donwload ROM option enabled.

  • Satellite C650 - wouldn't boot via USB

Long story, please bear with me

A friend of a friend has a laptop Toshiba Satellite C650 she bought less new year with Windows 7 top and a few weeks ago, she had problems with a virus/spyware and paid somebody £40 who said they would sort it out with it. When it is revenue that he would just try to start XP and then the blue screen of death as XP tries to start. All attempts to communicate with the person who did this Fix has since then.

Knowing that I have a Satellite and a reasonable knowledge of computers, my friend asked me if I could have a look and try and do a setup that would work for her and I agreed thinking along the lines of using my Vista Satellite, CD boot recovery disc, install Vista and then upgrade to Windows 7 by using the product key that she on his machine so enter the bios that I put it to start starting from the CD, insert the CD, turn on and off the drive, but he tried to load XP before the dreaded blue screen of death again :( Looks like that there is not drivers for the CD drive :(

So I copy the files to an external hard drive that is empty I put the boot menu to boot from the USB key, plug the HD and turn on and instead of boot from the external drive, it still attempts to load XP before the blue screen again.

I ve done the same with Hirems on the disk and once again the same thing, what it will do is try to load a version of XP from somewhere and then crush the dreaded :(blue screen

Any ideas what can be the problem and how can I force it to load from my external hard drive so that I can do a format and reinstall?

    Hey,.

A little confused your assignment, you used another disk of your Toshiba laptop recovery, right? Well, if it s not the same mode, it will not work because each laptop model has its own installation of recovery with different drivers and tools. There is therefore no recovery disk that works for each laptop model.

Best way to restore a clean Windows installation is for this model of laptop recovery disk. If you n t have it can be ordered directly from Toshiba:

    Hi jytrefe,

the problem may occur if the file described in the error message is corrupted. The following files are checked for integrity to start Microsoft Windows XP:
    • All the driver files (except those that are loaded by the system loader to start the computer)
    • All libraries dynamic link (DLLs), including user, graphical Interface (GDI), Shell, Kernel, Ntdll, Crtdll, etc..

Follow the suggestion given in the article to resolve the problem:

"STOP: C0000221 unknown hard error" or an error message "STOP: C0000221 STATUS_IMAGE_CHECKSUM_MISMATCH".

  • Problem with dual booting BACK and Win7.

I tried to configure a machine as follows: 0 = 250 G SATA drive with 512 byte sectors BACK 6.22, only fine boots. Disc 1 = 500 G SATA with 4K with Win 7 sectors. When you install Windows 7 on disk 1, it ignores the C: drive on drive 0 and affects the C: drive letter in the windows partition. Because the c: drive on drive 0 is no longer a drive letter designation, no bootstrapper is installed. I cannot change the letter of the windows system drive, in disk management, and as such cannot get BACK start as the C: drive. This is new behavior, I did install it on NT 3.5 thru XP on the same reader or different readers without fail. Win 7 enter the C drive letter for the system drive? If so I'll have to go back to XP for double boot installs. I get this same behavior on a single disc with the two BONES. If anyone has an answer, I guess that the next option may be a third-party boot loader.

I need a startup BACK too, the only way for me to do is to install BACK first, and then XP and win7

After that it starts on win7, xp (earlier version of windows), select and then from there BACK.

It's 2 steps instead on the 1 step :) but it works

  • Boot Camp keyboard and trackpad will not work. They do in Fusion

    Hello

I have a problem with my VM ware / boot camp of activation. I have a Boot Camp partition on my Macbook Pro. I am able to boot the disc using the fusion, but when I try to use Boot Camp coming to the windows activation screen and my keyboard and mouse do not work so I can't press the button to continue. I tried to boot into safe mode on boot camp and the keyboard and mouse are not recognized either. I tried to plug in a keyboard and a USB mouse generic and is not no longer works. I am running XP pro (not OEM version).

Does anyone have any suggestions on a cure?

    Hi tsugua,

This sounds like it may be more than one Apple, or Microsoft problem. However, my recommendation would be to ensure that the leopard drivers have been properly installed. To install the insert drivers your Leopard installation disc and run the setup.exe if is not autorun. So, make sure you run software updates of the Mac OS to ensure you have the latest version of the Bootcamp drivers.

Let me know if this helps.
