Satellite 4090 XCDT and display on LCD screen area

I recently bought the laptop above, running a Celeron 400, with 128 MB of ram and a 4.3 GB HARD drive. It has a 14 "screen. But when I installed windows XP Pro on this laptop when it boots into windows the visible area current decreases to approximately 12 ". It has a bios update to correct... ?

When I go into Device Manager it shows 2 monitors, the default and the flat screen Toshiba 1024 * 768. I tried to remove the value by default, but in vain.
It be possible to have windows running in a screen size... ?
And if so HOW...?
Any ideas would be most appreciated.

  • Replacement of hard training for Satellite 4090 XCDT

I have a Satellite 4090 XCDT, who needs a new hard drive, I'll try to find out if the computer/laptop BIOS can support a 20 GB hard drive (Toshiba Mk-2018GAS), can someone help me?

Also until the size will it bear?

    Hi Steve

I can't give you specific information about 20 GB of HARD drive, but I know that 8 GB of HARD drive will be recognized by the BIOS and it will not work properly. One of my friends has 4100XCDT and it works with 20 GB HARD drive with no problems.

My opinion is that you should take some information from partners of service or Google around and I'm sure you can find HARD drive provider that can give you good information. I know that it is possible to built in the HARD drives to high capacity for older machines, but how exactly I can not explain.

  • Motorcycle G LCD Screens are always out of stock?

    Hello

I live in Warangal, Andhra Pradesh (Telangana). I dropped my phone Mototrola Moto G 10 days ago and I went to service center for repair. The person there told me that this phone LCD screens are out of stock for a long time and it would take long for my phone for repair. When I asked the cost the person concerned informed me it would + Rs.6000 and almost RS.7000/. I asked him if I get a bill for this amount officially of Motorola, he replied that the Bill would be made by the service center. (They can charge me with any amount they wish to).

Then I quickly looked on centres of services available in my State and called each one by many service centre numbers did not work and most of them had not risen. Then, finally, a service center responded and they told me that they would replace my LCD to Rs5500. When I contacted the head of zonal service center. He told me that I can get it done in Hyderabad (150KM from my home) to Rs.4500 about and there are two centres of service available to Hyderabad and emails, calls to the phone numbers (mobile and LAN) of two service centers go unattended whenever. Official gas stations are looting customers giving their own statement of price which is much more than the original cost of repair.

Then I went back to service in my city to Center. I was informed that the LCD is always out of stock and they have placed an order a month ago.

Seriously? It has been a couple of weeks, and the parts are always in stock?

I also saw many people who had to wait 60 days of messages and always the part was not in stock.

How long will it take to get the part (LCD screen) back in stock?

  • Satellite M60: grey spots on the LCD screen

It seems that I have a problem with my Satellite M60. I noticed a few more dark spots on the LCD screen. Looks like the screen is dirty (grey size spots about 5-6 pixels), but it seems to be not in the surface of the screen, but on the inside (the surface is perfectly clean) and, certainly, is not the problem of dead pixels or subpixels.

Is it possible that there is little dust inside of screen? Is it possible to clean it somehow? Such a strange thing is covered by the standard warranty?

    Hi Fox

Possible it s not a BIOS issue. Of course, I read the other case, but perhaps it s not the same question.

But do not forget that you are using the good BIOS!
A lot of users here uses a bad BIOS or bad BIOS procedure.
In addition, the BIOS version performed from 14/09/06. That is why it s not very old updated.

  • Satellite L670D-103 - nothing displayed on the screen

Hello, please help, my laptop does not start!

When I push button 'ON', there is nothing displayed on the screen, but the fan is running, the lights are on except the HARD drive light. The motherboard seems to be ok then, but there screen is always black! For your information, my HARD drive is nearly full (319, 8 GB / 320 GB) and I did not create Toshiba recovery disc

What is a screen or an OS problem, and how can I fix it? The screen display depends on the OS to start and the screen won't work if the OS is recovered?

    Thank you
    Concerning

    Hey,.

Theoretically, it could be a malfunction of the card Mother poster to find this point connect an external monitor to your laptop and if the internal display is faulty, you should see something on the screen. Otherwise another part is at the origin of the problem.

This problem has nothing to do with the HARD drive. Even without disc HARD is installed you should see the screen of the Toshiba BIOS at least.

Why you have not created the Toshiba Recovery disk?
The recovery disc can restore the factory settings on the HARD drive, but in this case it will not help you. Recovery disk is only software (Windows).

  • Satellite L750 - scuffed or scratch the LCD screen

It is a strange. Last night, I (foolishly) used on the back of my finger to remove dust on the screen. This could cause wear on my skin and itch of my nail brand.

I then used a white cotton t-shirt trying to wipe (not being able to find my normal cd sheet), but it did not really work so I added a small amount of water which it (I'm guessing it wasn't a good idea to use a t-shirt anyway).

I then used a new t-shirt that I thought that it was not a good idea to use the old. In natural light, you see nothing, but if I turn off the lights and pointing a flashlight on the screen I can see what looks likely to be:

    (a) water
brands (b) water and SOAP (washing powder that was in the wash t-shirt)
    (c) the scratches
    or even
    (d) a very slight scratch in the surface I have tried to clean

I tried to clean this area several times that probably made things worse.

This area represents 1/14th of the screen and the problem is really visible when a torch fire is shone on the screen and the room is dark!, so it's not obvious in the natural light.

The laptop is brand new, which is what makes my own mistake even more unbearable. I'm puzzled as to what the solution might be and saw cela, but think it's exaggerated bass:

Any ideas on how to save me from a stupid mistake?

    Hi mate

I clean my LCD (portable computer and TV) using a Microfiber cloth and special cleaning for LCDs liquid which I could buy at my computer dealer...
That s all and in my opinion, it's good enough to clean the screens.

  • Equium L20-197 - what LCD screens are compatible

    Hi all

I'm trying to help fix a friends laptop which is a Toshiba Equium L20-197.

The screen got damaged and is the only thing wrong with it.
I searched for the LCD on the net and so far have not been very successful.

So I was wondering if anyone here knows other models 15 "LCD Panel that fits without modding or solder?

Also I noticed that it uses the integrated GFX ATI Express 200 so maybe the laptop take a 32-bit Control Panel using the same cable?

    Thanx.

To find new LCD Panel replacement is very easy. Use Google and put a few words like LCD L20 and you will find a lot of shops online to where you can order the new replacement screen.

I don't know where you live and that you are unable to find an online store in your country, but if you have the satellite notebook, I guess you live in the United Kingdom.

  • Satellite Pro P100 - multiple display after Exchange screen problem

My laptop: Toshiba Satellite Pro PSPA6A-028017 with Nvidia GeForce Go 7900GS

OK, here's the story. I turned on my laptop about a week ago and the screen is blank. I plugged in a monitor external via AVI and tried Fn + F5, but nothing. When the computer reboots, the external screen worked. When I tried to turn on/off displays the external monitor is turned off and I found myself with an empty screen - I was obviously spent on screen of the laptop but working blind, I couldn't work out how to get the external monitor to start again. FN + F5 did nothing.

At that point, I called Toshiba for the support of the warranty (on-site, next business day). They had a technician with new monitor/display on site the next day (after a few calls me to follow up). It has replaced the screen but struggled to lift the screen up and running. He finally managed to logon Windows safe mode and get running but only display on 800 x 600. It has updated the Bios and drivers. He could then up to the 1024 x 768 resolution. Highest and the screen would be left empty.

At that time we plugged in an external monitor via VGA. It worked, but the technician couldn't get the each display to run on each resolution. He left him speechless and he acknowledged that things still are not good. Later, after that the technician had left, I managed to get views working so each to their own resolution. However, I could not always connect the external monitor via DVI (VGA only). I was at least temporarily to work!

The next morning that I turned the laptop on to find that I was back was started. No display on the laptop and on the external monitor only low resolution. It seems that the external monitor is simply cloning which should show the computer screen.

Under the display properties > settings the display shows:
    1. (multiple screens) on NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS
2 Dell G2410 (Analog) on NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS

I know that when everything is working properly, he said not many monitors. The only screen I see is the Dell external monitor. And when I identify the Dell screen is no 1, even if it's not listed number 2.

I don't know anything about the cards video etc, but a theory I have is that adapter is defective and is only show the analog signal. That is why I think that the screen of the laptop and external monitor (connected via DVI) works not done the external monitor connected via VGA (but it seems to be imitating the screen of the computer, allowing only the laptop screens range of resolution). Is that possible?

Someone at - it ideas? The problem is likely to be the video card? I'm puzzled. I'll have to get the technician on the spot back (which will probably still 2 days and several calls, follow-up) and I don't want to lose any time. I have a business to run and I have now lost a weeks work already. If I can offer some strong theories before the technician comes on the spot, sometimes we can get parts ordered in advance.

My warranty expires in a few weeks, so obviously I want this fixed correctly in the shortest time. I don't want to wait 2 days for a technician to come and have to wait another day or two for parts.

    Help, please!

    Thank you
    Ghjghj

It is not easy to offer the correct answer and explanation why this happens here on the forum. In laptop cases should be tested with diagnostic tools to ensure that what is the problem.
OK, exchange of display was a step in the right direction but, of course, this question is more complicated and doesn t happen due to the defective screen only.

I agree with Akuma and also thinking that there must be a hardware problem on the motherboard. Before the expiration of the warranty, you should contact the service again and let check portable equipment.
The fact is, if there is that no book of hardware malfunction should work fine preinstalled with delivered recovery image (Toshiba CD/DVD recovery facilities).

Please, don't wait too long and contact ASAP. They check your laptop. the warranty is still valid and your laptop needs to be repaired.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite P300D Pro and Windows 7 - LCD problem

    Hello

I update my Toshiba Satellite P300D from Vista to Windows 7 Pro and the only problem is when I change rezolution of 1440-900 to 1280-800 or below my screen shrinks
Ye and 1 last thing I have hiden partition recovery, but now I can't start to set Vista.

Anyone know what to do about it?

Have you noticed a few problems with the native resolution of the poster?
It makes sense when you use non-native resolution LCD will be somewhat different.
So if the image is perfect with a native resolution, everything is OK.

If you did own option of recovery installation Win7 will be gone and you will not be able to install HDD recovery again.

  • Error keyboard satellite 4090 xcdt

I installed winxp home on mij satellite, it works (slow but works).
Since a few days I had problems with keyboard mij.
When I press left SHIFT I get Windows XP help screen. The left alt is given too many strange things.
So I can not use capitals because the right pass to give me the office.
The keyboard is messed up, I reinstalled Windows XP. Formatting the hd but no use. When you enter the name of the installation, I got the same problem.

    What is this possible?

    Hello

try using the original recovery CD. Install the original software (Win 98 I guess) and check if it still the same. If Yes, then I guess you have a problem with your keyboard or keyboard. If this isn't the case, then I'm completely lost.
Try attaching an external keyboard and check if the problem is still there.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite A60 restarts automatically displaying a blue screen

I have a Toshiba Satellite A60 two years old, recently, I noticed a problem where suddenly the computer restarts automatically, in the first, showing a blue screen with white text for a glimpse of a second. Also what difference does update the BIOS?

    Hi Mustafa

The blue screen of death appears usually due to hardware failure or serious malfunction of software.
These two issues are possible on your device.
Please see this FAQ Toshiba on disabling automatic Windows XP restart after a system failure:
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ5B01770000R01.htm

If the error message appears again, so you can see all the details of this message and then it should be possible to detect the reason why it happens.

PS: Extra, you can try to recover the laptop with the restore CD provided. Maybe this will solve this problem.

  • Satellite A300 Question on replacing the LCD screen

I had a minor accident with my A300, which ultimately ended in me the screen cracking.
(Yes, I know, what a fool. Believe me, it was a complete accident.)

In any case, the after-sales service is closed until January 5, but I was wondering if anyone might know how a replacement screen would be me back?

Will it cost me more than $80 just to have the 'thing' rated and side on, and I need to know about how I look, as I recently had my end of maternity payments, so we are a middle-income.

    Time to talk Abou...

Change the LCD is a little tricky. You have to remove a lot of and remove the screws much.

This is a forum user to Yes, so I think nobody with experience here's how. I think the best is you go in an ASP.

  • Windows does not load and displays a black screen when it is connected to the power supply

Original title - Windows Vista running on my laptop Sony VAIO

Trying to turn on my laptop using the built in battery nothing happens.  When the laptop is connected to the power supply and turned on Windows does not.  It shows something in the sense that it does not properly off.  It tries to load back to a system restore point before the last stop, but seems to fail again during this process.  All that is displayed is a black screen. Currently the power on light is on, the battery light is on, but the drive activity light is off.

Yet once again, I switched on the laptop and finally the Startup Repair process is automatically called.  After the display of the bar to attempt repairs, the system has been repaired successfully.  As a result, the I ran my Norton anti-virus, followed by Windows Updatesoftware.
