  The Mobile license should not disable Essentials. That could be a mistake made by the license server.

  I recommend to open a TAC case and urging them to please put in the queue for license Global (GLO) operations. Request GLO re - issue an activation key which includes your already approved essentials.

• HA possibility of twinning? two ASA5520s, one with Anyconnect Essentials with Anyconnect more licenses - can these two equivalent license types HA pair successfully?

  As far as I know, you need to require one of the ASA on the other to run in failover mode.

  Maybe if you run them in a private network virtual-balancing of the load in place, they will be able to work, but it will not give you HA.

  I wonder if it is still possible for individual users install the AnyConnect client by authenticating is via a web browser and allow the web browser to launch the installation, even if the device that the user connects to is running in mode anyconnect essentials?

  In addition, a bonus question: If there are several groups of tunnel and I want the user to know the name of the tunnel group in order to connect (because I don't want to show which groups of tunnel are available), can I force a user to access a specific URL to connect to this group of specific tunnel? I did it with the premium version of the AnyConnect VPN in my lab, but still works for the most part? And what happens if the user starts the AnyConnect client and connects without using the web browser to open the VPN session? The AnyConnect client remember what tunnel group was finally to that specific device or what I have to show which groups of tunnel are available in the AnyConnect client to allow the user to reconnect to this group of specific tunnel?

  You can continue to launch web AnyConnect the Essentials installed with a license. In order to direct users to a particular group of tunnel without using an alias and drop-down, you can configure the group URL. For example, you have a tunnel group called employee and another contractor called. With the group URL, users can access the respective web portal by entering https://vpn.test.com/employee or https://vpn.test.com/contractor. For users who already have the AnyConnect client installed, you can either insert the group above url in the connection box, or you can configure a host name address and the host by using a profile.

  I have an ASA 5510 executes code 8.0 (4). It has a WEBVPN license which allows a number of connectivity of peers with a 2.2 AnyConnect ssl vpn client (I have not needclientless SSL VPN features). As AnyConnect Essentials/Premium was introduced on the 8.2 code, does this mean I have to get at least an AnyConnect Essentials license if I upgrade to the latest code, or my WEBVPN license will still suffice?

  If you already have the WebVPN license when running on the 8.0.4, version then you need not purchase a license more.

  The WebVPN license is the equivalent of the AnyConnect Premium license.

  If your output to 'see the version' shows WebVPN for more than 2 users license, then you're OK when you upgrade to version 9.0

  But why now to buy a Cisco Anyconnect Essentials License, what exactly is this license?

  If you have not all AnyConnect Premium licenses, then you are limited to two simultaneous connections if you do not have the license of anyConnect Essentials. You are right, for i-devices (and Android...) you need the AnyConnect Mobile license.

  AnyConnect Essentials both AnyConnect Mobile are approved by ASA, not user connections. And AnyConnect Mobile needs AnyConnect essential or Preimium AnyConnect license must be activated.

  I would go for the license more. It is much cheaper then the VPN-only-license and you can continue to use it when you change the ASA in a newer model.

  1 correct. You can run one or the other, but not both.

  2 since you have the upgrade memory to 2 GB, you should be fine perform web deployment via the pkg file method.

  3. for a 5520, you need:

  4. on ASA 8.2, you need licenses for both units. If you upgrade to 8.3 + (8.4 (7) recommend at least), you can share licenses between members of a pair of HA. If you choose not to upgrade, just apply the key of activation on the rescue unit, then on the unit activates. You don't need to move on and in the failover configuration. Failover of the rescue unit status will show as ineligible briefly while he holds the new license is not the case of the active unit.   We have a split_tunnel RA Vpn configuration in a branch that works very well in all areas except the destinged of traffic for a specific website using https.  This provider does not allow HTTPS connections to bring some outside IP addresses.

  Essentially, this should work like this:

  RAVPN_client (10.4.4.0/27)--> https request to the (208.x.x.x) vendor_ip---> ASA55XX--> NAT_to_outside_ip--> to the vendor_ip (208.x.x.x) https request

  I need to understand how you would approach from ONLY this https traffic specific to the RA VPN without having to change the installer otherwise.

  Internal hosts (aka behind the ASA physically) have not any question at this site, as would his nat ip address outside that we expect.

  Here is what we use for the NAT Exemption it list 10.2.2.x, 192.168.100.x, and 172.23.2.x are other remote sites we have. The 10.4.4.0/27 RA VPN users don't have no problems connecting to them, regardless of the Protocol:

  You are on the right track with you divided the tunnel configuration. You need to add is the pool of Client VPN to be coordinated to your external ip address, IE: same as your local users of the ASA when he tries to access the intellectual property of the provider (208.x.x.x), allowing more traffic in and out of the same interface for traffic of U-turn.

  Here's what you need to set up:

  permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

  nat-to-vendor ip 10.4.4.0 access list permit 255.255.255.224 host 208.x.x.x

  NAT (outside) 101-list of nat-to-vendor access

  The foregoing will allow VPN pool to be coordinated to your ASA outside the ip address of the interface when accessing the seller (208.x.x.x).

  1 small correction to your ACL split tunnel:

  -The following line is incorrect and should be deleted in the tunnel of split ACL:

  Access extensive list ip 10.4.4.0 VPN_splitunnel allow 255.255.255.224 all

  (As 10.4.4.0/27 is your pool of Client VPN, you do not add these subnet to your list of split tunnel. List of Split tunnel are only the network that you are difficult to access and sent through your VPN tunnel).

  With an AnyConnect Essentials license is activated, without client feature WebVPN, Cisco Secure Desktop (CSD) and assessment of Advanced endpoint is disabled.  For this reason, you won't be able to make the registry checks, check the antivirus updates, etc..

  Before version 8.4 (1), Cisco has called their license name for SSL/VPN Premium AnyConnect SSL VPN users and currently the new name of the license is simply AnyConnect Premium.  In addition, the IOS show name amount users VPN/SSL enabled via your license (Exodus 2, 10, 25, 50,...) by running a 'show activation code"went under SSL VPN peers to peers Premium AnyConnect.

  That said, my question is if the upgrade license 10 users to 25 users (L-ASA-SSL-10-25 = -

  ASA 5500 SSL VPN 10 to 25 user Premium upgrade license) on a SAA before 8.4 (1) and an ASA with 8.4 (1) is always topical and the good part number make these upgrades for the two ASAs.  The description of this part number throws me because it says SSL VPN for Premium user, which was the name before 8.4 (1).  I couldn't find any documentation about this part number or to modernize the two ASAs 10 users to 25 users.

  Can someone check this part number is perfectly fine to make these upgrades?  I appreciate any help or advice.

  I agree that it would be clearer if they simply called it a "AnyConnect Premium" instead of SSL VPN license.   If you have a client with 1000 users and an ASA who takes care of 1000 concurrent connections, but you only have a license for 250 users, this means that you can not install AnyConnect on all machines in 1000 (as it has previously been supported) and that 250 machines must be enabled to use the VPN?

  In the past, you could install Anyconnect on all 1000 machines and have been limited by the number of concurrent connections on the SAA. The question also applies to SSL, SSL licensing limited approach user-based or is it based on the number of simultaneous connections to the ASA?

  Concurrent connections no role more with AC4. You need one license per user that uses the VPN. If you have 10000 users while only 5 of them using the VPN at the same time, you must therefore 10000 licenses.
