564 XL ink: color Photo performance

HP cartridge 564XL messages should produce hundreds of standard pages; However, I can't find any information

How many 'best quality' photos should be.

The last cartridge of mine only seemed to have produced about 2-3 dozen photos 8 x 10 before "yellow" ink has been completely exhausted.

I use the Photosmart to 7520 printer a

Can someone give me an idea of 'normal' waiting

Thank you

Here, the document includes information for the Photosmart 5300.  It of another printer, but uses the same cartridges and I expect similar results.  The scale factor for 8 "x 10" would be 30% of the performance for 4"x 6" photos or pages about 87 for the yellow. "  There will be considerable variation based on what you print.  The performance is based on continuous printing, if you print individual pictures or many small impressions performance the efficiency will be lower.  This is due to the ink used for the interview to start and stop the printer.

  • color photo can be printed on t-shirts?

I don't know if this is the best place to ask this question but I hope that there are enough users here with t-shirt printing experience.

I created a realistic work of photo for printing labels for a customer as a requirement of style. Now they also want this work longer printing on t-shirts and told me they will give him to another designer to vectorize it for this purpose. Technically, the work can be considered a color photo of landscape with a group of people at the front. I'm worried, how the image will look like after this, but from what I've seen impressions t-shirt are for the most part, with some dull colors or rulings art works. I think these are limits and I can't imagine how the work can look at something close to it. I don't have a lot of experience t-shirt but I understand vector vs raster and I don't know if my client knows what they are doing and wonder what you would do if you're in my situation.

I would greatly appreciate your advice

[a] color photo can be printed on t-shirts?

Of course, it can. You can even order have made it one-off measures, online. On clear or dark substrates. Without even properly prepare the image, or even have an idea on how to do it. (My wife does all the time for gifts and arts mechanical and such.)

.. .a photo realistic illustrations for printing labels for a customer. Now they also want this work longer printing on t-shirts and told me they will give him to another designer to vectorize it for this purpose... I don't have a lot of experience t-shirt but I understand vector vs raster...

They [the customer]? and maybe even the other designer, do not know what they are talkking about. Contrary to widespread belief, work doesn't have to be "vectorized" in order to print on clothes, more that there must be vector illustrations in order to print on paper. Just like printing on paper, the work must be:

    • .. .the sufficient resolution for the size in which it will be printed.
    • ... color separable, appropriately for the used printing method.

People talking about garment printing often confuse the concept of 'vector and raster' with "line from continuous tone art." Work of Contone must be 'your projected' (not talking print here) in order to print using color quadri (printing a small number of "primary" colors in a sort of model to simulate other colors).

Contone work tone control must be done in printing, textile, everything as it should be done in the offset printing on paper. This is true regardless of what printing process is used for printing textiles. For printing directly on the fabric, the work must be the halftone color separation points (or other shapes), or stochastic points or bosses. The same should be done if textile printing is by heat transfer (the transfer must be color separation) or any other method of marking.

Again, this has nothing to do with the work to be vector or pre-rasterized. It has to do with its continuous tone. You said that the work is "photo realistic". Yet whether vector work; It suggests only that we work continuous tone.

Technically, the work can be considered a color photo of landscape with a group of people at the front.

Technically, it's a description quite ambiguous. A picture of a landscape with people? Photo of a landscape color stacked behind some vector drawings of people?

.. .to go from what I've seen t-shirt prints are for most works with some dull colors or line art screens.

Then, you need to get out more. Today, you can easily find that t-shirts printed with images of contone printed in a variety of print and the tone of screening methods.

I think these are limits and I can't imagine how the work can look at something close to it.

Each printing method has limits. In general, people assume T-shirt silkscreen prints (as in screen printing, printing, but the screens are not silk these days). Screen printing requires generally relatively course tone control (either points of halftones, halftone lines and diffusion dither, dashed), compared to offset printing. And Yes, this is a limitation for offset printing. But it is also one of the reasons why the "requirement" of vector artwork is a myth. A requirement of vector artwork isn't all about resolution independence, contone compared to the line drawings. And the resolution is generally not a problem to print on a T-shirt, something originally designed for offset printing because the resolution requirements are relatively modest.

Each printing method also has its own advantages. One of the advantages of screen printing is that its use of the printing process is not necessarily limited to only four inks. Another is that the screen printing inks can be opaque; You can actually highlights made impression on top of tones and semitones. That is why it is very bright and very saturated coloring can be done in silkscreen using technical dotted Posterization or taking the place of classic AM or FM your screening. And that is why the best screen printing very frequently creative use these methods instead of regular halftone screening.

.. .wonder what you would do if you're in my situation...

If you are looking for advice here, I would like to show a screenshot of the work. As almost always in this forum (or any other like him), best advice very much depends on the nature of the particular work.

If it was me and my work, I ask the customer which is the company printing the packages he has in mind and then find out if its capabilities to respond to the work and the results expected. If it is not, I would recommend a suitable textile printing company and I would be optimal the work so that he makes me (and charge accordingly).

  • Print color photos appear under the name of b & w, as soon as I hit

Color photos are suddenly appear in black and white as soon as I hit 'Print' and print in b & w only!  It is a new issue for me.

    Hello

    1. What is the brand and model of the printer?

    2. have there been recent changes to the computer before the show?

First of all, make sure that the color cartridge/toner is not empty or blocked.

I suggest to adjust the color settings in the printing preferences and check if it helps.

  • V313 detects no ink color cartridge

Greetings! My V313 just started telling me that my color ink is low and the cartridge needs to be replaced. I just put a new cartridge in 3 days ago, it printed very well then, and I barely used it. I put in another cartridge new, unused and the V313 told me that it is low on ink as well. I tried to pint in black only (another new cartridge), but simply of gives me the message "low ink color" and do not print. I lived on the website instructions troubleshooting Dell; and I reset the printer nothing helps. Of course, I checked both cartridges to ensure that all packaging had been abducted and that they were correctly statelye.

Why the V313 does think that the ink cartridge is low when it is not? Thanks for any help.

    Mike,

You can have a cartridge with a bad sensor. You can try a replacement, it may or may not work. I've heard of some members that some generic brands work, but I don't post brand names, in the case ethey do not work, so nobody can say I said it worked.

I tried the cartridges refilled in the past and the print quality was not as good as expected. I'm trying generally to buy cartridges high capacity Dell series and they last a long time, for only a few dollars more.

    Hello

What seems to be the issue. His are more in there or something like that? If so, check the icon on top of the cartridge, it should be a Hexagon, if you want to mount a "bow tie" it does not, since it is a photocartridge that is not supported by your printer.

  • Photosmart B8550 - make the XL 564 cartridges ink also incorporate the same print head?

    Photosmart B8550

XL 564 ink cartridges sit also in the same print head? Or do I need to buy a big print head to accommodate XL ink cartridges?

I ask this is because 564 plain ink cartridges seem to fit pretty snuggly here, so I don't see how a wide range of ink cartridges could go in there!

Or what is the standard ink cartridges are only half full and XL ink cartridges are full, so they use the same ink cartridge?

    Thank you!

As long as you use the same number 564, etc. 940 XL just means that it gives more volume page. So, you can use the same print head...

  • Using layers to combine color photo on lined paper - loss of color

I'm doing a guest design book for my mother's wedding. I have a picture that I want to combine on lined paper (created with Word and digitized. Saved in PDF). I was going to change the opacity of the photo to make it lighter while bringing in lines in the image below. I renamed the picture so there was more background, selected, copied and pasted on my white, bordered with image and the color photo, then became a black and white grainy. Otherwise, I could have put the photo on a white background and change the opacity to lighten it and then lines on the image, but it did not work as lines has not been out of uniform. Would really appreciate help! I have a couple of PSE books, but I'm still stuck. I use PSE 12.

    Thank you!

Assuming that your double image is black lines on white background, place the image doubled over the image in the Palette layers. Change the opacity of the image doubled to multiply. The lines will be displayed and the image without change.

It is an older version of PSE so my Palette layers will be different from yours, but the result should be the same.
