  This is the old method that is still used with some inkjet home printers.  Printers Designjet need much ink, so the current design of the print head filled by Assembly of the tube and large ink tanks is common for all designjet printers.  You don't like the design, but it is more economical because the printing heads last longer than ink.  You will have to pay more for ink cartridges that contain the printhead.  Your argument is outdated.

  Thanks for getting back to me.  Put a new black cartridge in earlier yesterday and I did not always receive an appropriate test page.  The two top lines would be nice and the rest were completely disappear.  I also downloaded a driver updated, thinking that this could be the proglem.  Same results.  I dropped.

  Last night, I decided to try the suggestion again to remove the cartridges, disconnect the printer, then reconnect again.  When I ran a test page then, it came out perfect!  So, either the Black XL cartridge I had initially installed with color inks was faulty or the driver was bad.  Depending on what it was, thanks for the suggestions.  So far, we have set ourselves.

  My only suggestion to HP would be coming with the test pages and alignment/diagnosis who do not use all my ink before using it for the purpose for which I use my printer... printing!

  You can also contact the place you bought the cartridge to see if they will swap out for another cartridge for you. However, it depends on the stores return policy if they accept the cartridge back or not. This option, you can try everything first because it would be quicker for you to get a replacement cartridge locally. If the store does not replace the cartridge for you, call the HP Technical Support I've provided to process a replacement under the warranty of the cartridge. Just make sure that you have the cartridge faulty with you when you call our support number.

  A cartridge of the same size that the color cartridge would be the photo cartridge.  This is not interechangable with the black cartridge, you will need a black cartridge.

  Thinner 564XL black ink is figure 1, Ciara_B of post.  Please just make sure that the number is CN684W or CN680W.  I know that eBay has them.  Which are sold in the general store retail package doesn't have a part number.

  Recently I bought HP 564XL black ink cartridges for my printer Photosmart C310a as they had to be compatible but the cartridge is too wide to fit.  They do a different medium for the largest ink cartridges?

  The standard black cartridge for Photosmart C310a is physically the same size as the 564xl. There are 2 black cartridges in the C310a. One on the far left of the printhead is the black of the Photo and that of the extreme right is the ordinary black.

  Are you making sure to put the black cartridge on the inside right side of the print head? For more information, see the documentation provided here.

  With the help of a printer C410e/HP Photosmart Premium e-ALL-IN-ONE, I went through the original ink cartridges without any problem.  I have received warnings that the ink was low and bought the HP 564XL cartridges and installed according to the instructions.  Now, the output seems only to print the color inks, but not black.  After trying help indicating to try pulling the plug for 30 seconds and then plug, I got about 2 pages of output stained and white pages and then again.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?

  I solved this by buying another cartridge of black ink.   Guess I got ripped off on my previous purchase.  The two were the same shop HP ink cartridges.

  You can use either a regular ink cartridge or a high XL capavity for one of its cartridges (black, Cyan, Magenta and yellow).

  I have had this printer for years.  I had a few problems here and there, but it was basically a machine reliable and quality.  A week or two ago, my HP black ink cartridge ran out.  I tried an ink cartridge not HP for the first time.  (Gasp!)  It did not work.  I assumed it was less and I pulled it.  I then installed a new HP black cartridge 564XL.  But still no black ink is printed.  I ran 'clean' in the Tools menu print head several times.  I cleaned the electrical contacts.  I made sure that the evacuation of cartridge area was clear.  I removed the cartridges, unplugged for a minute or two and reinstalled them.  Nothing has worked.  Probably put in this cartridge not HP for a few minutes is not totally destroy my printer!   Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  I understand that, with the combo, pack of ink you bought came with a Photo black cartridge, and you're wanting to use it in your printer. In regards to your printer, it is not compatible with the black cartridge Photo, both black and Photo black cartridges are not interchangeable. The store did not have the only 564 black cartridge, but the packaging on the combo pack that I bought said the 564XL would be compatible. But it does not fit into the slot in black ink. There is a larger slot, which currently holds a cartridge of this size, but is marked as black light. Can I put regular XL Black cartridge in the slot and do serve only in black, or what I need to find the only cartridge 564 elsewhere?

  What seems to be the issue. His are more in there or something like that? If so, check the icon on top of the cartridge, it should be a Hexagon, if you want to mount a "bow tie" it does not, since it is a photocartridge that is not supported by your printer.
