5660 envy: envy 5660 and 7640 Scan resolutions

What scanning resolutions are available on the 5660 envy and the jealousy 7640 all-in-one printers... for example, 100, 300, 600, 1200 dpi?

Thank you

DaleBr

Hi DaleBr,

Both models supports up to 1200 DPI for scanning of flat glass (75, 100, 200, 300, 600, 1200)

7640 envy, the upper tray supports up to 300 DPI (75, 100, 200, 300).

  • HP Envy 7640: Unable to set the scanning resolution

Have been unable to set the resolution of scan during the scanning of the glass in a computer file (pdf, jpg). Guide the user to the HP page 47 7640 said: "● If you want to adjust the size of the scan, output type, scan resolution, or file type and so on, start scan from the software of the printer."

First of all, where is the "printer software" to start the scan?

Have tried all this. When I opened the series HP Envy 7640 (network): Assistant of HP printer, I click on "Scan the Document or Photo a" place in the scanning area. No scan dialog box never opens. Actually I tried to reinstall the printer driver. No change. Always impossible to get a scan dialog box. In addition, when I go in the start menu and the title of the series 7600 HP: HP envy, I click on the HP Scan icon. After a long wait, a dialog box appears that says: "Cannot communicate with Scanner", and it offers a few options. The first is to activate the device (printer), and then on; the second, control cables (its wireless operation); the third: try the software "fix." Happy to report that after stopping then on and running assistant printer again, this time by pressing the "scan a Photo Document' results in the appearance of a dialog box to make the changes that I've been looking for.

  • HP 4500 ENVY: I have a HP ENVY 4500 and impossible to activate scan-to-computer.

I'm unable to scan documents on my copier/printer/scanner. I did some troubleshooting by entering the IP address in my iPad that I was instructed to do and told me that the "scan-to-computer" function had been disabled. But I can't understand how to re-enable the feature "scan-to-computer". All other features of my HP ENVY 4500 work correctly; the scanner is the only thing that I can't go to work. When I try to scan anything that a message appears on the printer screen that says: NO COMPUTER FOUND Make the printer software is installed on your computer, and that "Scan to Computer" is selected.

    Hello

Scanning to a computer from the front panel to scan to a computer with Windows or Mac OS X, not a Tablet as I understnd of your information.

Since iPad you can scan by launching the scan from the HP AIO Printer Remote app, not the printer itself.

You can follow these steps to scan from a mobile device:

  • Want to 4250: scanning with envy 4250 and Chromebook

I'm trying to scan a picture on a 4250 desire.  My infographic is a Chromebook.  Get the message 'No computer found' when I hit the scan icon.  How do want to scan to the cloud of Google?

    Hi @FloridaGeorge,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that you want to scan a document with your Envy printer and access with your Chromebook.

It is not as easy to do on a Chromebook. If you had a Windows PC or a Mac, you would be able to use the software of the printer.  Some printers have a function of e-mail scanning. It is of a decent workaround if your printer supports scanning to e-mail.

If your printer does not support scanning to e-mail, try the steps in the following video.

  • Windows 8 on my HP laptop, I tried to scan to computer on my printer HP Envy 114 and it won't scan to computer

I just installed Windows 8 on my HP laptop, I tried to scan to computer on my printer HP Envy 114 and it won't scan to the computer, I ran the store to correct what ever the problem is but the convenience store said no problem. I checked to make sure that the scan of the computer is enabled and it is, but still won't work, says windows 8 is not compatible with the scan of the computer. Any ideas?

Make sure you install the scanner/printer drivers and the scanner on windows computer software 8. Then try to scan from the computer instead of the scanner to the computer. To scan, you must have the scanner that is connected directly to the computer to win 8 (you can't sweep a scanner on a different computer) or a network scanner connected to your router. Check the compatibility site to check if your scanner is supported.

  • HP Envy 5540: HP Envy 5540 does not scan

    Hello

I just bought an all-in - One HP Envy 5540 and installed on my PC running Windows 7 Home Edition (64-bit).  I did the whole upward online and printer and copier work without problem.  But the printer won't scan to my PC.  (I use a USB, is told by the way).

When I press the icon 'Search' on the printer, I get an error message that says: "no computer found."  He then gives instructions to "open the HP printer software, select Actions 'Scan' and then select 'Manage the computer analysis'."  The only "software" I can find is the downloaded "printer Assistant", who does not have a tab "Scanner Actions."

I tried to download the "Scan" doctor and still running the 'fix', but it did not work after following all the instructions, including unplugging them, restart the PC, etc.

Any ideas I can try please?

    Thank you.

PS update: after a stop during the night, today - when I press 'Analysis' - the printer is set up a list with my computer upstairs (another entry said "no computer not listed").  When I press the icon for my computer, I get a brief 'access... '. "message as he tries to connect.  I get then a message saying "connection required.  The selected computer is not available.  Ensure that:-l' computer is turned on; -l' computer and the printer are connected properly with a cable USB; -the recommended HP Print software is installed and configured on the computer. »

The only one I am uncertain is the last of them - but I guess he has everything installed and configured, because everything else seems to work.

    Still stuck!

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP Forums.

Please uninstall and reinstall the software COMPLETE features, follow these steps:

1 uninstall the software from your computer
    2. download and save the software COMPLETE features (do not install online)

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-envy-5540-all-in-one-printer-series/5447939/model/5447940#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930C7

    3. install the FULL feature software "saved".

Once you have downloaded and installed the software, FULL of features, you will be able to print and scan.

    How to scan to computer

Once you have installed the software:

    1. click the printer (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP printer Assistant.
    2. in the menu analyze, there is a 'manage Scan to Computer', click on that.
3 make sure you have "Enable" Scan of the computer. Also, make sure that the tab "automatically start Scan of the computer when I connect Windows" is checked if you want to perpetuate this feature. (the following video will show you how)

    Scan to computer

  • HP Envy 5530 impossible to scan

I have a HP Envy 5530.  It is connected to my laptop wireless. At first, I tried to use the programs installed on my laptop Lenovo scan... scanner not connected. Then, I downloaded the application for the 5530 scanner part.

At this point, the scanner is recognized. When you try a scan... It starts and then has a status of "General failure."

Then, I connected the printer to the computer with a cable... same result.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi @alyle1028

I wonder if this general failure refers to the hardware itself. You can make a copy?

If you can copy, run the printing and scanning doctor. Printing HP and doctor Scan is a free utility (tool) that allows to quickly solve common printing, scanning and connectivity problems, including but not limited to:

    • Connectivity:

USB: Check that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product works properly.

Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working properly.

    • Device Status Test: checks the errors of the device, such as paper, paper jams, stands transport and paper issues and provides instructions to resolve the error.

    • Driver: checks the driver missing or corrupt files.

    • Device Manager: check the problems in Device Manager that could prevent printing.

    • Device online: check if the product has been suspended or put in offline and then sets the State back in line if necessary.

    • Print queue: checks and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a newspaper for printing waiting to print).

    • Port Match: check the port settings for the HP product.

    • Device conflicts: check the conflicts with other drivers, such as the other brands of printers.

    • Ink issues: check the cartridges and the ink levels for issues that affect the print quality.

    • Print settings: check and adjust the print quality settings.

    • Test print: print a test page for the assessment of the print quality and provides options for cleaning and if necessary print head alignment.

    • Scan tests: check the scanning mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

Click here to download and run the print and Scan Doctor > www.hp.com/go/tools

If this does not resolve the problem, after back and let me know if there are all the symbols except the Green checkmarks and what they are next of course. The key is not always easy to identify the key and check mart are in the green circle.

    • If you see only the Green checkmarks (), the tool did not find any problem.

    • If you see green sides (), the utility identified a problem and fix it automatically.

    • If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and requires monitoring of the user, but the step was ignored.

    • If you see a red X (), follow the onscreen instructions to fix the problem.

I can't wait to hear back on your part.

  • HP ENVY 4500 Series (network): scan negatives

I have the HP ENVY Series 4500 (network) printer/scanner/fax machine and would like to know if it is possible to scan 35 mm negatives and save them as a digital file on my PC?

    Hi @jvtorto,

Only scanners with a media support Transparent able to digitize 35 mm slides.  The Envy 4500 series does not include such a feature and therefore does not support the slide or negative scanning.

    You can consider a scanjet.

    Negatives and slides scanning

You can use the link above if you get a Scanjet which scan negatives.

    Hi all

I have installed all updates for HP envy 100 and connected to the internet / wireless printing and scanning of Mac OS 10.7.1 successfully.  However when trying to scan from the touchscreen scanner, destined for 'Computer' selected none of the exposure of the Mac as connected upward (all computers connected to the list are empty). The SSD is probably not formatted and mounted as a drive in the system. In other words, it is empty. Right-click on MYPC and choose manage... go to disk management and find the SSD. Make a new simple volume and ntfs format and then assign a letter reader and you'll be good.
