7 Microsoft / HP OfficeJet 4110 - cannot bind.

HP Pavilion dm1 / HP OfficeJet 4110 /Microsoft 7...

Can't believe that these large companies such as Microsoft and HP / Nokia don't provide any backup of worthy of the name their products more.

Tried for three weeks now to connect my new Pavilion with my old OfficeJet 4110.  Now, says that it is too old and no longer - so I guess I have to throw out... even if it still works perfectly.  Also said that even if he was not too old, there is no connection between the two available patches... but I did get a bit of a discount on a newer printer (which also, I guess that would be too old after another five years...?).

Manage similar attempts to connect a Windows Phone (Nokia Lumia 800) for this laptop and am told by Microsoft / Zune / Nokia there is a problem of software (which has happened for two years at least!) which prevents what happens in all cases... but they don't know what it is.

In all cases, large companies have not moved away... leaving us all to set the best on their forums.

It is my first experience of the HP forum.  It will be otherwise?  NO, if it is true what was said a particularly brusque woman with HP in Newcastle.  "Well, you bought it in the States, so we couldn't help you anyway... ".  Needless to say, NOT what they said in Chicago when I told them it was intended for the United Kingdom... «No problem, Sir, it is the same machine and double voltage.»

Is so-o-... where I am I give this one more to go before ditching all the above and 'conversion' to Mac!   Not a threat... but we'll just see if they treat their customers better...

It wasn't an agent Shane... but, literally, everyone I talked for a week or two with HP to the United Kingdom!

As you will see, I clicked on the Bravo, your second problem of the two because you suggested worked like a dream.  I had been looking for a new printer (which, to be honest, would have not been another HP) simply because all those people - even if for the most polite and helpful - all said the same thing:-that there is nothing they could do to help because the machine was out of warranty, is no longer produced... and, of course , "I bought in the USA!

At no time did I say it was broken or needs repair... but, at all stages, I said that I was willing to pay for the advice given the age of the machine and just need advice on what I could do, if anything, with her.

So congratulations Shane.  You have done a few other manufacturers on a sale, but you be assured that my history with HP may continue at least for a while.

In the meantime, I do you, head of the technical department and get the other members of the crew 'lines' staff in the United Kingdom on a catch-up 'what-we-can-do-and-what-we-can't-do' and (in some cases!) Run PR!

As my computer came with Windows preinstalled, I do not have a disk and will not take the risk of damage, that I can't fix. Do I not download or not... ? Another solution... ?  I also fear that this tool could settle into the routine Win Update and need guidance on the prevention of this facility, if possible, or what to do if it cannot be prevented.

    If you have windows installed on your computer security essentials, then you will not be able to install Windows defender. Windows Security Essentials has antispyware component installed.

    You get the error because you have installed MS Security Essentials, which has its own function to antimalware. You don't need or want to install Windows Defender, too. Leave MS Security Essentials installed and do not turn it off.

  • Cannot bind to Active Directory with the configuration to Workspace Wizard

    Hi all!  I hope someone can point me in the right direction here.  I rode on the workspace VAPP yesterday and everything went beautifully until I reached the point where you set up the directory.  Here is where I am currently:

    -Type = ActiveDirectory Direcotry

    -Use SSL = unchecked

    -Server Host = IP of the DC (it is a GC)

    -Server Port = 3268 (also tried of 389)

    -Attribute search = sAMccountName

    -Base DN = DC = domain, DC = com

    -Bind DN = CN = horizon, OR = ServiceAccounts, DC = domain, DC = com

    -Bind password = *.

    I get the error below after selecting the parameter Test and sync button.  A few other notes of things I've tried so far are also listed below.

    Bind user DN has the fields firstname, lastname and email in the AD account.  Have tried both of our domain controllers (both are of the GC).  Also, we do not use LDAPS but allowed the "Microsoft network server: digitally signed communications (always)" enabled for all our servers, but do not see why it would make a difference wrt to LDAP. "

    If domain controllers cannot communicate through port 636, it won't work, but you can run a command like ' openssl s_client-connect : 636 "and allows to print a cert. You can run this command from one of the machines VAPP workspace for example. You must copy the following text (including the BEGINNING and END of lines)

    -BEGIN CERTIFICATE-

    ....

    ....

    -CERTIFICATE OF END-

    And paste it into the certificate filed on the directory Workspace Wizard page.

    After the upgrade to 64-bit Windows 10 Pro, I can't scan my OfficeJet 8500 909n.  I get this message:

    "The analysis cannot because another program or computer using the networked HP imaging device. Try again later. »

    I have a / re installed HP Solution Center 5 times.  I restarted routers.  I'm power cycling my PC and the printer several times.

    I can print to this printer from three PC.  I can't get the scan to work as before.  This has been driving me crazy for more than 5 hours.  I'm honestly ready to go back to Windows 7.  The printer is connected via the cable network.

    Can someone please help?

    Once it has downloaded and installed, go to start > all programs > HP > HP Scan extended > Run "HP Scan extended.

  • OfficeJet 5740: Cannot print duplex automatically and can not connect wireless

    So, I recently bought a new laptop for academic purposes. Back in September, I bought the HP Officejet 5740 because it could print wireless and can print double sided also.

    Everything worked perfectly fine when I was using Windows 8. In microsoft office, that I could see the option to print double-sided and had no difficulty, printing or the connection to the wireless printer.

    Then, I upgraded my computer to windows 10. I downloaded the hp driver and tried to add the printer several times and did not get it to connect successfully. Moreover, I see more two-sided printing option. I have the option to print one, or to manually return the documents to make it double sided.

    I downloaded the driver installed the printer and uninstalled the printer a LOT, a LOT of time with nothing doesn't. Please help me. I really only print in powerpoint and word, so it is very important to have this ability.

    For the connectivity problem, I would say the Print and Scan doctor, you can download it from HP to http://www.hp.com/go/tools.

    For the duplex issue make sure the duplex module is selected.  Click on start, devices and printers, click with the right button on the Officejet 5740, select printer, device settings, both installable and set properties automatic duplexing on installed unit, apply, OK.

  • OfficeJet 5740: Cannot fax from the computer

    My new Officejet 5740, purchased on 11/15/14, worked fine until February 2015 - no problem with any of its functions, including faxes.

    That was all the time I went from a wireless connection to a USB connection and since then out of faxes cannot be sent from the computer, even if they can be sent from the printer by using the LED screen. There is no problem with the incoming faxes.

    Sending the printer with the LED screen is a nuisance of errors compared to the convenience of use of the computer. Lengthy discussions with HP Technical Support have been of any help. The technicians seem to think I should just give up and use the LED screen on the printer.

    After trying in vain to send an outgoing fax using the computer, the Fax status window appears saying "queue... "as the status of the fax, and it never goes one further.

    Is it possible that my passage in wireless USB connection type caused the problem? Maybe I need a different driver? If Yes, where can I download one, and what should I go for? Thank you.

    Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are not able to send a fax from your HP Officejet 5740 computer, you can send a fax from the front panel.

    I think you just need to update the drivers and software, please proceed with the following steps:

    1. disconnect the USB key if you use a direct connection.

    2. remove the HP software JO 5740 uninstall from the control panel of your computers an option of the program.

    3. restart the computer.

    4. make sure that all them that software JO 5740 has disappeared from the list of programs, but also your HP folder listed under all programs in your Start Menu.

    5. now, go ahead and download the software and drivers for your JO 5740 (DO NOT connect USB until the software prompts you to):

    Assistant on the computer Vista laptop found my wireless Officejet 6600 work that runs on another computer, but the wizard cannot connect it.  Gets the error code 0 x 00000643. Looks like a software problem in the laptop Vista.  It worked before on this laptop.

    Distressed it Center solutions Microsoft, I can't download patches without getting an error message saying "Troubleshooting cannot continue because an error has occurred."

    I'm having the same problem. Microsoft does not seem to be interested. I don't buy anything else Microsoft until this is resolved.

    I installed the OfficeJet 4635 successfully on my Windows 7 and XP machines by using the wireless network.  I installed on my Windows 8 machine using the full features of hp.com driver, can see the printer but cannot print.  I ran the print and Scan Doctor whenever the error that the driver must be uninstalled and reinstalled.  I finished this process 3 times now.   What else should I try (in addition to resume the printer?)

    I understand that you can not print in Windows 8.

    I suggest a different manual uninstall. Then use our printer HP install wizard for Windows for a re - install.

    I installed Microsoft Fix it Center but on all first open, when it is collecting information on my computer, I get a message "unable to download troubleshooting guides, please check your internet connection.

    However, these have not helped and probably because my version of windows is different from the one used by the people who provide the answers, the options I had to choose from were different from those mentioned.

    i.e.

    (2) the response of GlobalToolSource said to select "run as administrator" on the Compatibility tab as response to Windows Vista. Because I am running XP is not available, and the only options are systems of Windows from Windows 95 to Windows 2000. I chose Windows 2000 in each case, but it has no effect.

    I am running Windows XP SP3.

    I use Firefox as my browser and put it so that I have to approve any cookie that wants to put in my PC.

    Firefox works perfectly. I can't blame her, and I checked my list of 'Exceptions' three times looking for any blocked cookie that seems to have something to do with Microsoft or fix it and found nothing.
