7520 all-in-one offers unique vertical black line

My 7520 puts a single vertical black line in the middle of the page when I scan or copy from the document feeder.  I tried to reset by unplugging the power supply, and I cleaned the glass.  What should I try next?

Hi mmvegas,

Try to copy blank pages 3 to 5 to see if it's a stuck there small dust particle.

A week ago I noticed that the analyses using the ADF put a black line about an inch from the right edge of the page.  This will not occur during the analysis of flat glass; only when you use the ADF.  I checked the glass and paper tray are clean and free of debris.  I wish that it there a way to display an image of what I'm talking about.

The line is about the thickness of a vertical margin of Notepad and gray line.

  • My Officejet 6500 E709 all in one will not print black.

My HP Officejet 6500 E709n all-in-one will not print black.   All other colors work very well.  Have you tried what follows - new black cartridge installed, ran the print heads clean utility, made sure the wind was compatible black ink cartridge, turned printer off and restarted.  Print tests still not print black - other colors and images to print, but not text black or shades of black in images.  Any suggestions on how to fix or what needs to be repaired?  Thank you.

Hi jim: I just had the same problem a few minutes ago. After having gone through all the troubleshooting steps, I realized it was all just a bad cartridge. The PIN on the printer heads were not reading the new cartridge, so nothing in black print could be printed. I installed a new black cartridge and I could resume my printing projects. I then contacted the HP store directly to report the faulty cartridge while they could send me a new, that I won't be out of pocket for a cartridge I bought directly from them.

Hope this helps you with your problem.

    Hi @realestatejeann,

I see that you have found one black vertical line when using the ADF. With a few steps, we should be able to solve this problem.

Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

  • Thick vertical black line on the entire length of the page

I have a HP LaserJet M1530 MFP Series PCL 6.  When I print normally there is no mistake in the image, but when I make a copy I have a thick vertical black line on the entire length of the page. The black line is about 2 inches from the left edge of the page. The problem is older than the current drum cartridge which was just replaced a couple of months. Never, the problem occurs with a normal printing, copy only and occurs with every copy without exception. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

  • Dell Inspiron 15: Vertical black line on the screen.

Dell Inspiron 15 , I bought about 8 months ago. The specs are as under: -.
Intel Core i3 3217U clocked at 1.8 Ghz
    4 GB RAM DDR3
    1 GB Intel HD 4000
    1 GB AMD 7670 M (switchable)
500 GB HARD DRIVE AT 5400 RPM
    Windows 8 Core 64-bit Edition

The laptop was working absolutely fine with no problems until yesterday. Today morning when I turned on the laptop, I noticed a vertical black line on the desktop with an endpoint at the end of the line on my screen. At first I thought it would be a graphic bug which would disappear on reboot, done repeatedly, but no avail. The black line is more noticeable on a light background.

Laptop has not been submitted to harsh handling or stress. What could be the cause of it? Is it a manufacturing fault or something else?

I am attaching 2 photos of the screen from different angles to obtain a correct and complete line. Please tell me how should I proceed from here.

  • My HP photosmart 6510e all-in-one scanning pictures in black and white but the docs are still in color.

Scan pictures into my a6683w HP Vista in black and white, but the documents still scan in color.

Hello there ingridt, welcome to the Forums!

I noticed your post on the scans of your Photosmart 6510, scan to your system from Vista in black and white. I want to offer my suggestions to you to see if they can help you with this.

First of all, try to launch the HP print and Scan Doctor who is used to fix the printing and scanning problems. You choose the option "Scanning" when the tool is run. It will inform you if the software is completely installed, or if there is a problem, it can not correct. If it detects an error and shows you a red 'X', I suggest then uninstall and reinstall.

Here are some links to help with uninstalling and reinstalling if you happen to do these steps.

    1. uninstalling the printer software

    2. restart your PC

    3 reinstall: Photosmart HP 6510 e-All-in-One Printer - B211a

Try a scan now and let me know how make you out!

    Good luck!

  • All-in-one Photosmart HP 3310: black printing in odd rows

    Hello

I have had this printer for almost 6 years and never had a problem with it until this last week. My impression started out as below:

As you can see, the colors are fine, but black seems to be coming out in lines. As the black cartridge was almost empty, I replaced it and received the same impression. I replaced that one (just in case the cartridge was defective) and received the same impression.

My printer is out of warranty; I tried to clean the print heads and align the printer several times over the last week and nothing has changed. In fact, every print I do has the same meaning (even thickness, same color, same type [dotted, lined, etc.], in the exact same places every time, which is interesting.

I tried the reset of the printer (pulling on the power cord for 15 to 30 seconds, and then reconnecting), alignment and clean the print heads in the printer menu, and then on the menu in my Mac, and I tried to get the number online (here and here), but came to nothing.

I'm currently located in the United States, in Arizona. I understand that it is an older printer, so I may end up having to replace, but I was hoping someone might have a suggestion.

    Thank you

    ~ Leslie

    Hey @TheLastDuchess,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are having problems of black print quality when printing HP Photosmart 3310 all-in-one printer. I first want to thank you for all the details you provide me in your message. I see you've already replaced the black cartridge twice, cleaned and aligned the print head several times and reset the printer nothing helps. Unfortunately at this time, it sounds like you have a defective system of the print head. The printhead in the unit model is not replaceable part. It reads the cartridges and ink to go on the control document. If this part in case of failure to replace the entire unit would be necessary. According to all the steps that you have already tried, at the moment, you have exhausted the troubleshooting steps. I don't want you to run one more cleans away from your printhead system because it uses no ink in order to rinse the ink for cleaning system. The rule is generally, if cleans 2-3 make no difference, not to go forward with more clean as you will just waste ink.

At that time, I suggest that you contact our Technical Support by phone team to explore additional options.

  • C355 all-in-One won't boot black screen

    Hi all

I have a C355 all-in-one who had a serious problem lately. When I try to turn on the pc with the power button, it makes the whirring sound, but the screen is black and it won't turn. The power button stays on and sounds like it starts up but the screen remains black and does not turn.

I tried unplugging all USBs thinking it could be the conflict with the other drivers, but it does not work. It usually takes 20 + attempts after pressing the power button on and off with no screen until the PC actually turns. It is extremely frustrating, sometimes over an hour before I can get the computer on! I made sure that all drivers are up-to-date, and 8.1 windows is fully updated. I don't know what else to do to try to solve this problem. This PC is not under warranty but its still relatively new. I wouldn't have to spend money on another computer for this reason. If anyone has had this problem or have any suggestions to try to fix? Thank you.

I ended up taking the all-in-one to a repairman. The cpu has been damaged from overheating. They said it was a common problem with all-in-one which have an amd cpu and warned me to stick in the future equipped with Intel processors. The cost of the repair was too expensive for my cheap all-in-one so I got the hard drive recovered and let it go!

  • Get the message of incoming call on HP 7520 all-in-one Photosmart

I had a professional hook up my HP Photosmart 7520 wireless all in one.  I have a special ringtone that is put in place for faxes and also

I get phone calls on this line. Everything works fine, but lately I've noticed when I get a phone call

a message appears on the screen of the printer saying incoming call Auto answer on ignore or accept. I also get this messge

for incoming faxes. If you do not click on ignore or accept that everything works well. You will get your phone call and also the

Fax will print. I do not know if this message appeared on the screen of the printer or I'm just noticing.

I think I started to get this message calls and faxes. Can someone tell me if this message should always

appear when you get an incoming call or a fax or is there a setting I need to change to get rid of the message? The message really is not hurt anything if you pretend it isn't there, for incoming call example, message, leave it alone and pick up phone and all is well. The same thing with the fax. I have a distinctive ring of a fax, a double ring, but the message remains displayed "call auto answer incoming on ignore or Accept." If you do not click on ignore or accept the fax starts printing and the message disappears.  I swear I've never seen this message before.  Can anyone share any light

on this subject? I don't know if I make a mountain out of a hill of the mole, because everything still works, but I

never remember just to see this message on the printer display screen before and I would like to know if it comes from an update, or if I've accidentally changed something, or if it was always like that and I just noticed. Please, if anyone can shed some light on this, I would be grateful, because I really think that this message has begun to appear even if everything seems to be in working condition. All answers would be appreciated. I know I'm old, but I hope I don't get senile no also. The only thing that has happened between the time wherever I noticed this message is I needed a Java Update and I got a fake virus. This was my tech support-assisted and supported.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi go_pens,

Your printer has a feature that allows automatic updates. There was actually a patch last week or the week before for this printer. These updates to the firmware of the printer. I think that your mind is still intack, I believe, you're not senile.

I don't think the message appeared on the printer before, I guess you're right, and that the update made this change. In addition to the automatic response accepting faxes for you, you now have the possibility to accept or ignore the fax before that the automatic response accepts the fax.

I hope that this addresses and solves your request! Thanks for joining the HP Forums. If there is anything else, we can help do not hesitate to ask.
