  As I changed again to a new computer with Windows 8.1 my printer works fine, BUT I can't figure out how to find my ink level as I have in the Toolbox of the printer on my old computer with Windows XP.  Any ideas?

  I read your post on how you can access is more the Toolbox of the printer after now using another computer running Windows 8.1 and wanted to tender hand. Why you can't access the box tools any longer, it is because there is no complete driver available with the 920C on Windows Deskjet 8.1, as it was with Windows XP. You can still continue to check levels of low ink in the printer (below image from the user manual).

  Your printer is compatible with the PC. Windows 7 already includes the drivers.  You will need a USB cable between the printer and PC connection to install the driver. Follow the instructions on this document from HP web.

  I have a Deskjet 920C I need to download a driver.
  My OS is Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2.

  This computer is never put on line Internet, and I don't want to do it now. I searched online, but the only drivers I found require a scan, a separate driver installer or another method that requires the Internet connection.

  I tried every avenue ends by "you don't need to download a driver, it is included in your Windows Vista."

  This could be in a perfect situation, but my situation is far from it!

  What is the name of the file from the HP driver for the Deskjet 920C printer in Windows Vista Home Premium, and is there a download site that will allow me to download this single file?

  I need to download the file on this computer (Linux) and transfer it to the Vista system via a USB key. This should not be difficult, except that Microsoft and HP seem to think that we, the users are too stupid to see given the necessary information, at least that's my opinion now.

  I stumbled upon a solution that worked. I deleted the printer in Control Panel, run "Add a printer" and choose "add a local printer. (The weird part is "Use this option only if you do not have a USB printer.") He presented a list of printer where I chose HP 920c. In order to complete this action, I received a menu of connection ports. The list of ports has only a USB input: 'USB Port virtual' which I chose. The dialog box "Print a test page" appeared and the test page print. I clicked on "Finish" and completed the work.

  I don't know what I did, but the printer works again. I went through all your suggestions much about using a USB cable. Even pleaded my case at Best Buy Geek Squad, which also said that a) 8.1 sucks eggs and b) is probably not a hardware problem. So, thank you!

  Our deskjet is only an impression with red ink despite the installation of a tricolor ink pack nine. We thought that maybe the old tricolor cartridge was low on blue and yellow because it seems the problem had increased over time, but there is no such excuse for this one.   Oh, when you said new cartridge I didn't know that they are 3 years has expired (which means that they have been manufactured in 2004 or 2005).  Your problem is most likely the outdated cartridge.

  Have you tried to do a service of cleaning cartridges through the driver (System Prefs, Print & Fax)?

  Hello. I will address this, knowing that other users information. Your old harness case will be removed, the new chassis will have its own cables. The EVGA 850 GQ is ok, but the G2 is better, you can find them on Newegg / eBay / EVGA.com etc.

  These instructions worked for me, the only exception that instead of selecting the driver 990 c, I had to use the Deskjet 920C printer driver. With the 990c all the printed pages were empty. I now the Deskjet 916c running with the Deskjet 920C driver. The only downside that I have now is that the driver does not seem to support the manual duplex, but at least I can print. Thanks for the pointers.

  I don't think that player had a size limit?  The file is only a few hundred MB.
