a solenoid valve control

Hello everyone.

I need to design a system where it is supposed to control two solenoid valves (for gas of 5 l/min flow), a thermocouple and a moisture sensor. I have a few questions with respect to the foregoing:

1. what valves would be ideal to achieve flow rates of gas of 5 l/min.

2. is if possible to use NI - USB-6009 to control via PC or some other hardware DAQ system the above would be better

3. what additional devices are required in the above configuration

I'm looking for some preliminary information that could help me get started with the aforementioned project. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Deepak

(1) do not know...
2) the 6009 will be have limits, no hardware timing for cardiac control loops, can not read TCs, if it's a school or a University project, take a look at the myRio. I'm not shure if it can read the TC directly, but you can easily connect an i2C / SPI TC IC conditioner.
(3) you will need some vor to power external power valves and a pilot valve (at least a transistor and a diode)

    Hey everybody

I designed the system pressure (dp cell) with a variety of 8 ports each of what solenoid. What I'm trying to do is to control the valve through labview so the open 1 stay open for 30 seconds in time, then close and another is open and so on. I have attached the plug of the valves. I use with NOR: 9203 and neither Cdaq-9178: 9472.

The valves are normally closed and the liquid flowing through them is silicone oil.

I tried to look at the different examples, but I got confused.

I would be grateful of any advice or suggestion that you give. (I started using labview just a few weeks ago).

  • basis of solenoid valve

Hi, I know there is a lot of info on valves and solenoid valves on the forums, but I'm looking to establish myself a starting point. I need a solenoid (or any faucet that can be controlled, really) that will allow me to open and close the tap fairly quickly (less than 1 second) so I can control the level of the liquid in a container. It will be constantly liquid on one side (the top side of the valve in vertical position), and the valve opens for a short period of time until a few mL are exempt, and then close. I have read a lot about who have need of an acquisition of data, or a relay card, but is it here that I can just plug into the wall to power and then have a usb key or another wire run to my PXI to open and close easily? I have a card 4130,2564,8232,4065,8101 PXI slots.

For example, could just use something like the coleparmer below valve and just supply 24V to the PXI-4130 to open it and then remove tension to close?

Good, but don't forget a solenoid works using a magnetic field to move a piece of metal--a lower voltage, more current is needed to produce the same field, you just need to make sure that everything you go to interface it can handle the voltage and current (or power, which is simply volts * current pure DC).

  • NOR-9472 and SMC solenoid valve

    Hello

I'm writing the code for the valve of the SCM activity. I need to control the amount of time that the tap is open. The tap is connected to the / 0 on the NOR-9472

Don't know how to start the problem.

Second, I want to save data to an accelerometer in the VI even.

Yet once again, don't know where to start. If someone could please tell me some examples, it would be fantastic.

Here I have two screws, one to control the faucet, the other to the data recored, separate and have them both in an another vi?

    See you soon

    K

I wrote code examples that if everything will work well for you, or at least give you an idea of what I was talking about.  There are three cases

-Wait, the VI is waiting for to press you the fire button

-Acquire, the VI changes the value of the solenoid valve and starts the acquisition of the accelerometer for a period of time

-Analyze, the VI performs an analysis of the data and then returns to the waiting state.

  • Best configuration for the control of solenoid valve

    Hi all

I'm really new with everything regarding controllers or the relay so that any help would be much appreciated.

I want to control 5 valves (Web site) with the following characteristics:

Rated voltage: 12 or 24 VDC, available voltage fluctuation: 10% of energy consumption (when 24V nominal voltage): 1.5W (0.06 A)

I want to use LabView to control. In a similar position, I knew I would need a digital camera I/O driver relay and a generator of 24V.

I was thinking of using these:

    NEITHER 6501
    Relay driver (uln2003)

    and a 24V generator.

Is it enough to order the valves with LabView or do I need something else?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Ilan

Yes, this combination should suffice.  The ULN2003 is designed for exactly this type of application, and works well.

Usually in English, we refer to the power supplies when we talk about devices to convert AC line voltages to lower DC voltage.

In addition to LabVIEW, you will need a driver for the USB-6501 DAQ. Under Windows, it will be DAQmx. On Mac or Linux, the dirver is DAQmx Base. The driver is a separate LV facility, although it can occur on the same disks.

  • Control valve, choose which module?

    Hello world!

I need to create an application with Labview with HMI etc... and I also need to control 3 solenoid valves.
I have the choice for the type, and I was thinking about using those:

    SMC VT307 with 24Vdc power consumption 5W

    To fight them, I've identified:
    cRIO-9481 with USB-9162

Is this a good choice? Because I wonder if this USB device can give enough power to control the valves that I see no external power to the USB device?

If you think of a better choice, your proposal will be welcome.

    Thanks in advance for all.

Everything he needs more, it is a 24V power supply.

You must choose valves with a built in shock absorber circuit or free diode to protect the Tower relays running spark that you get to turn off an inductive load voltage.

This protection will increase turn it off of time (a few ms) valve (just in case it matters )

  • Solenoid with labview interface

    Hi, I currently have a solenoid valve (NVZ110) with 24 VDC, "+" and "-" terminals) and I:

    CFP-DIO-550

    CFP-AO-200

    CFP-AO-210

    PSC-HAVE-112

My question what module should use to open and close the tap? Also, I couldn't find a tutorial on how to create a simple vi to control this valve using LabView. Is there a simple example VI?

As an alternative, you can use the 550 to turn on a mechanical or relay DC coil, whose output contacts could then apply/remove you power AC powered solenoid.

  • Use of LabView to solenoid in the gas system.

    Hello

First of all, I'm new to the LabView program don't know much this program but it can connect and control instrument.

Second, my Adviser want to move the manual system in an automatic system that control through LabView using

the temperature and the pressure is a trigger to open/close the solenoid valve. (starting with the solenoid valve 3-way 2-way and 1 2)

Third, this system starts from scratch; for now, I have an evaluation version of LabView 2010 for the test and temperature/pressure sensor in RS323

    which easily connect to LabView.

The problem is which module or equipment to connect the solenoid with LabView?

    THK.

I think that the Green wire solenoids ASCO is grounded.  Red and black are power.  If you use an AC solenoid, you can go from a solid state relay.  Static relay more require 3-32 VDC to a few my for the control and the control is isolated from the electrical circuit.  There are some DAQ with outputs digital equipment that can drive the input solid state relays.

  • Output at 120VAC solenoid trigger

    Hello

I have 4 120VAC solenoid valves, working in 6.1 watts, requiring only 0.05 ampere. I want to control LabVIEW via a hardware DAQ device.

My doubt is if there are hardware devices out there that give a large part of output to trigger a solenoid ON / OFF?

If NOT, is it possible that I can achieve this?

    Thank you.

A device of digital output (DO) is controlled by your PC to put a voltage on and outside.  A relay is a switch that uses an electrical input, usually low voltage, but not always and generally low current (such as from a c) to switch a higher voltage or current signal - like your 120VAC to control your solenoid.

  • actuation of the valves

    Hello

I used before Labview but I don't consider myself as an expert. I am trying to operate two solenoid valves with the acquisition of data USB 6525. The valves need 12Vdc for 20-30ms to operate, once spent no extra power is needed to maintain the valve in place. I want to use this DAQ because it has internal relays of SS I want to control using LabView. I want the Labview block diagram to let the user choose when to open and close the relay using milliseconds (this is very important). Here are my questions:

    (1) how to connect the valves to the USB 6525 DAQ with the external power source. (to check)

    (2) I need help create the block diagram, I don't know where to start

Any help will be greatly appreciated, I tried to solve this problem for more than a week.

  • Relay control using cRIO LabVIEW and the NI 9472 c series module

    Hi all

I try to get my program to run so far without success, and need help.

I use the compact rio with the program on labVIEW and the NI 9472 digital output module. I enclose my VI.

Basically, it's a test program to run an algorithm at a time. If I use a solid state format to get a time warp that dictates, time of execution of the algorithm. The operation by default, I put is for when the time channel produced a fake.

Question 1: The problem I have is that even if the time string is true, as it does not run. It remains in State sending false so only of false signals to my relay (which is represented by the round LED - relay switch a solenoid on and outside).

Question 2: If I can get 1 problem solved, the next step I have will be executing the same algorithm, but for more than a State of time. For example. "06:00" run algorithm. I want this algorithm to keep running as long as he sends signals REAL (which means the solenoid valve remains open until a WRONG signal). Then he will run again to say '08:00 ', execute the algorithm as long as he sends signals REAL and so on...

    In summary -.

-I want to order a relay (which controls a solenoid)

-L' use of components listed above

-With the help of semiconductor in labVIEW (VI attached)

-At different times, the execution of the algorithm UNTIL sends the WRONG signal and then return to the default state, which means that his waiting until the time channel product TRUE.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

  • Solenoid causing crash LabVIEW?

    Hello

I use LabVIEW 8.6 with a NEITHER-9481, relay module 4 channels (among others) to control a solenoid that opens and closes a hydraulic circuit. Relay module controls a 24V DC solenoid power supply.

The solenoid valve opens and hydraulic works. After reaching a condition, the solenoid valve closes in LabVIEW, closing the hydraulic circuit. A few seconds later, the computer restarts.  To try to address this problem, a diode has been built, parallel to the electrovalve to protect the return what EMF generated by the magnetic field collapsing in the solenoid circuit.  This reduced the problem but has not solved.

Can someone suggest remedies? The back EMF pulse would be the reason for the computer itself reset? Or could there be another reason?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

    John

    John,

I would think the back EMF would be the prime suspect.  Make sure that the damper diode that you installed is as close as possible the coil of the relay.  This will maximize its effect.

The next issue to watch, it's how the power supply 24V to the valve is wired regarding the rest of your DAQ hardware.  Primarily concerned about ground loops and bounce on the ground.  Can you describe the rest of the installation, and how things are wired in a little more detail?  Any other inductive loads in the setup?

  • How to create the ampere control signal (4-20 my) of the voltage control signal (- 10 - 10 V)

I must control 4 proportional valves (Bürkert 2873 x 3 & 2875 x 1) installed on a gas pipeline. These type of valve control signal is 4-20 my. I have a data acquisition NI USB - 6343 with 4 AOs of V-10-10 X. How can I control these valves with the DAQ hardware? I am not familiar with ELECTRIC/ELECTRONIC, that is why I ask. Thanks in advance.

This device can produce only 5mA on the analog output.  So, you will need an op amp that can display on your 20mA.  See here for the creation of a converter with an op-amp circuit.  Your USB-6343 should provide 1 to 5V to the op-amp.

  • Maintain a solenoid open for a certain period of time

    Hello

I have a NI 9472 with a solenoid attached. I developed a simple vi to operate the solenoid valve (normally closed) when a preset pressure (i.e. pressure) is reached, that is, the valve opens when the pressure exceeds the set value and closes when it falls below the set value.  However, what I really want the vi to do is open the tap for a certain period of time (say 1 dry), so that the built-up pressure may be entirely liberated before the tap is closed, so pressure is composed from zero again and the cycle repeats. I have read some threads already, but I haveen can't has found an answer that works for my application. Please check and looking forward for your help!

Try this... Make sure you put a wait function in your loop, otherwise you use 100% of your CPU
