a system restore. now, I have only a picture of office.

has problems with the PC and did a system restore.  After restoration, released on very well connected and office came.  nothing, no taksbar, start menu, nothing.  only the peak of office.  No, I can't do another restore of the system in safe mode.  Made mode without failure/invite commands and typed in systemrestore, etc..  nothing after hitting enter.  do not go to the recover window.  Help. any ideas?

To run the system restore from a Safe Mode command prompt, you follow the procedure described in the following article?

"How to start the System Restore tool by using the option of safe mode with the command prompt in Windows XP"

Something else you can try...  When you get the white screen with the screen, try hitting Ctrl - Alt - Delete if you have XP Home Edition, the task manager should start.  If you have XP Pro, a window will appear and you can select 'Task Manager '.   After starting the Task Manager, click on the 'Applications' tab, and then make a file-> new task or click on the "New task" button at the bottom.  In the next window, enter "Explorer", click on "OK".  With luck, you get again.

    Hello CalebCox,

I suggest that you try the methods below to resolve this issue.

    Method 1:

This problem can be caused due to infection by the Virus. I suggest that you run a virus scan on your computer using Microsoft Safety scanner and check if you have the same problem.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Check if you have the same problem in the new user account.

You can refer to the link below, which will give you information on how to create and configure user accounts in Windows XP

  • System Restore, now all I have is a white screen

This a gateway MT6451 laptop with an AMD Turion 64 X 2 Mobile Technology TL - 50 256 KB x 2 L2 Cache, clocked at 1.6 GHz, 1600 MHz processor Hyper Transport technology, running Vista Home Premium. After the reboot, I suspected something was wrong because my computer started acting strange, slow, would not open Internet Explorer without having to restart a couple of times... ect. A friend suggested you do a system restore. I chose the first available date and received a message that the action could not be completed. Then I chose the next earlier and had to leave to go to work. When I got home, there was just a white screen. I restarted and when it got to the point that it should have been at the level of the office, there was just a white screen. I tried to restart once or twice more, same result. I discovered that I can access files via the Task Manager, but it seems I can only access data files. If I try to start a program such as Internet Explorer, I get a message that the file is not found. Thanks for any help, that all the world can offer.

  • You had to do a system restore, now my windows will not update

I had problems with the 10 of Windows Update causing a blue error screen permanently.  I tried to do a "reboot of the PC" to correct the error and it would not be completed even when left for 2 days.  I finally had to restart my computer and press f8 to not get stuck in the Windows Update screen.  With no system and no other available option, it was suggested to me to do a restore of complete factory restore points.

I did the restore and now I have even more questions.  My windows update does not work, I update of windows troubleshooting, but it does not work and my computer says always "looking for updates" and updates are never downloaded.

My fan is running continuously since I did the restore to factory, and my CPU usage is 75 to 90%, even if I did not open any programs.  Norton told me that Microsoft is responsible for the high CPU usage, but I don't know what to do about it, because I obviously don't want to disable Microsoft.  I'm not sure how to upgrade my Windows at 10, or if I'm still able to now...  Which sucks since I had to do due to the problems caused by Windows 10 programming initially.

Another update of the issues, I got zero problem with a feature of my computer before resetting.  Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

My computer is a HP Pavilion g7-1320dx laptop, and bought in 2011.  Please don't tell me to get a new computer... It's definitely a software problem.

  • hard drive failure, System Restore, now all of my media and documents files are missing, just GONE. all ideas

I was workiing online, and I started to have problems with ie10, freezes, stop down, and then the entire HDD crashed, any program, file system went. System Restore used to regain control of my computer, but now all my media files, music, photos, everything is over. How can I identify and restore them. Documents open in word, but there is no trace of them in the library files... etc.

Your hard drive has failed. If she had done this you would have to buy and install a new one, and you would have lost everything.

If it just crashed and you have used system restore and running to get to the top, then all is not lost, probably... unless the files are damaged by the accident.
Do a search on your hard drive. To find the word docs using "* .doc" (without the ""). To use "*.mp3" mp3, wmv files use "*.wmv" etc. The asterisk (*) is a wildcard and the search results will include all these files, the research is on your hard drive.
Make note of their location and then reorganize their or re - point your assets their location.

  • System Restore, now INTERNET NO connecttions available, and Norton is disabled

I downloaded a specific file relating to a VST in a DAW. He brought a bunch of * on my computer--none of this seeming harmful, just annoying, so I did a system restore. There is no 'available' internet connection, Norton is off, etc. I don't have access to a phone at the moment, I'm using my friends computer. I'm sorry if this has been asked, but I feel like I'm pressed for time, if this is actually a bad thing.

    Hi Thorrin,

    1. What type of internet connection on the computer do you use? What is a wired or wireless?
    2. You get the error message? If Yes, what is the exact error message?

It is likely that the network driver is damaged, because of which you might face this problem. Follow these methods to solve the problem:

  • System Restore doesn't have restore points. What should I do?

    Original title: System Restore problem

Why my "System Restore" gets none of the restore points? I've restored this computer before. Any suggestions as to why would be very appreciated. Thanks Jack

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. did you disk cleanup?

    3. why you try to run the system restore?

    4. do you use your computer in dual-boot configuration?

This type of problem usually occurs due to threats of viruses or due to cleaning of the computer disk. I suggest you to scan for viruses and to check if it helps.

    Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. During these 10 days, it will remove all the files infected by the virus and records. I suggest you create a backup of your data, and then install Microsoft Safety Scanner.

Once you are done with the antivirus scan, try the steps in the following Microsoft article and check if it helps.

  • She launched 'System Restore' now the computer will not complete the installation

Clean HP Pavilion bought in 2003.  With the help of daughter for school work.  Computer running very slow.  A ran all the relevant boxes virus / malware scans, the old deleted files ' ran fix disk, disk cleanup and defrag, still running slow.  A ran the 'System Restore' edge (press F10 during boot).  It works through the restore program and sit as I just opened the box.  Through the implementation of procedures and click Finish and it is just there for up to 6 hours before I finally gave up.

Oh Dear Brian, I hope there is no data file on the computer, you will need in the future. The F10 key is the path to the system recovery that restores the computer to the factory settings. It comes to the computer when it was bought new in 2003. It erases all the data files and installed programs from the drive. In other words, you start again:

my xp pro came pre-installed on my refurbished ibm thinkcentre and no cd was included.  now it's half because it froze in the middle of the restoration of the system and so the restoration of the system no longer functions (cannot get online either.)  is there somewhere to legaqlly download xp for a re-installation or do I actually have to throw away money for a cd? is there any other fix than you may think, as physically transfer the files from my laptop OS (also has xp pro.)  any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi ButtonGuyyyyy,

    1. You are able to start Windows?
    2. What happens when you try to access the Internet?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?

Unfortunately, there is no download available for Windows XP, you will need to contact IBM support for the Windows XP installation CD or to reinstall Windows XP on the computer.

Unfortunately, Windows XP installation CD is no longer available for sale, you can contact any store local tech or with eBay or Amazon, you can check if they have copies left.

If you can start Windows, then you will need to use the backup utility to back up files and folders.

How to use the backup utility to back up files and folders in Windows XP Home Edition

If you are unable to start Windows, then you will need to take the computer to store local tech to save data on the computer.

  • After a black screen with a cursor, the performed system restore, now cannot open programs, USB drive

Original title: Windows 7 Home Edition

Yesterday, my pc only has a black screen with a cursor. I tried to restore on another point but then after starting upwards and put my password, I get the home screen but cannot open any programs. I can't use the USB stick or cd / dvd drive so how should proceed to solve this? I can't put my external modem to make a back up and I really want to fix this without losing all the data on my pc. I can run programs in safe mode and windows installation disc opens in SafeMode as well, however I can't set safe mode.

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • System Restore doesn't have access to the administrator account

    Hello

Yesterday, I created a new username on my PC under Windows 8, but unfortunately I typed the wrong outlook address, so there is a user account on my system with an address from outlook that is not mine and I do not know the password.  To make things worse, I seem to have made my own local users represent a non-administrator, so the only administrator user account on the PC is that I can not enter and do not know the password.
If I could somehow reset the system back to how it was before yesterday, everything would be fine, but I do not know how, because I don't have an administrator account.
