• Search RoboHelp HTML 8 problem

  I have a RoboHelp 8 HTML single (non-merged) project in which, I can't get search working properly.

  I was expecting to see a box where I can type a search term and a white pane on the contents, Index, search, glossary bar where search results would appear.  Instead, I get the following when I generate WebHelp:

  

  
  This problem appears in IE 6, IE 7, Firefox 3.0 and 3.5 of Firefox, which uses our customer base.  I use RoboHelp 8 on a Windows PC with XP Pro 2002 SP3.

  In the project/general settings dialog box, the default parameters for the Stop List I and her always ignore list selected.  For "add new keywords for ' I 'Index File (Perfect)' selected, and 'Binary Index' is selected.

  During the generation of WebHelp, I have the following set:

  General selections: under 'Additional Options', 'apply to all subjects","CSS"is selected, with the correct name of the CSS is displayed.  'Add the Mark of the Web' is selected.

  Selections of navigation: contents, Index, search, for the buttons of the toolbar, glossary are selected.  For Search Options, 'Search results select Enable' is selected.

  Selection of preferred Format of navigation pane is pure HTML.  (We tried DHTML/HTML but which resulted in an empty nav component and a non-functional index).

  Optimize the speed for: Web Site (Internet)

  Publish: Publish again together.

  What we're doing wrong?  I'm totally stumped and I can't seem to find any help on this issue anywhere.  Thank you!

• When I type a letter (not when text entries are selected; i.e. for navigation not writing) the browser will automatically search for the letter.

  I use letter keys to navigate often, but recently everytime I try, the browser automatically will pop up 'Find in page' and look for him.

  In fact I can't access ANY search engine...
  However, it works on my shelf so I know there is always and I toasted my roommate who refuses help from the pc or download anything... (it is quite ignorant PC so I think it a little).

  So what settings might suddenly entered in place that block me from my selected search engine?
  (FTR search engines, I can't access in IE either and I HATE IE so having to check, it made me feel unclean).
  (I also checked with anti virus and do not see it crashes me but Kaspersky has been closed and still no search engines so I do not think that there is the issue).

  I tried for weeks to access my search engine and am so confused, I'm now off to you.

• SHIFT key in a web page acts as ctrl + f search key?

  I installed a few addons today after a while I noticed a problem with my shift key
  It is very well when using the text boxes but shift + any alphabet led to find the box similar to ctrl + f box.

  Access search by: click on Windows Orb/Start key > click on the text box and type "User Account Control" to get the shortcut to user accounts. You can disable UAC.

  I use RoboHelp 7 and output in FlashHelp.  I have 184 ID card for context-sensitive help in our application software.  Are there restrictions on ID card (digital only, length of characters or the number of ID card)?  I searched RoboHelp Livedocs and help as well as the forum and I saw only references that ID card may work only with digital characters online.  Developers would like to give me the application field codes, which are digital characters, currently 5 digits, but will certainly grow.  How many card ID can I have?  (I have about 500 topics in my project).

  I just thought about how out to assigned several ID card to a subject, so that the work, but need to know what precedes.

  To my knowledge there is no limit. But as with anything, there MUST be a limit. But I doubt that you would never hit.

  If you look at the Edit the ID card dialog box, click the Options... button.

• Not only HR index themes?

  I have Windows 7 and HR 8. I'm also new to indexing.

  I ran the index Wizard and produces an index. However, all entries only take you to the top of the topic and not the actual place in the section where the index point. Can I index of articles in the topics? If so, how?

  Is there any kind of help or information on indexing?

  This was repeated several times. I just jumped 'index' in 'Search RoboHelp Forums' and got 216 hits. One of the first was this thread.

• Problems with frames

  I use 8 HR and create a WebHelp. I use frameset created HR in the project manager. This game is my start page. It separates the online help in two parts, the help on the left and page for further details on the right. All links know what image should be used. Which works very well.

  Using the online help has some problems:

  1. the search

  I look up a Word and click on a result. The page opens. But my set of frameworks is destroyed. My links in the pages and in the table of contents are not working anymore - of course, they miss their framework. How the search function to use one of my frames?

  2 table of contents-synchronization

  The table of contents will not be synchronized when you view the help pages.

  But once I used the search function and my set of frameworks is destroyed, it works very well. I tried with a few links I have prepared for this.

  Both your logic problems. Frameset is not a topic, just a page that loads different subjects in different aspects. When you perform a search, RoboHelp opens the topic directly and bypass the framework. The table of contents are not synchronized because the topical, frameset, is not changed. You only load a different subject in frameset.

  Regarding your TOC sync problem, I don't see one easy solution, other than abandonment of your set of frames. For your problem, you can do work by changing the output files. The table of contents, Index, and search using hyperlinks that you can customize in the output files. Change hyperlinks, such as that of whfhost.js (research) at line 410. Add target = "", such as

  "William +=".

  target = "myframe"> "+ _textToHtml (gaTI [i] .sTopicTitle) +".

  Do it for the table of contents and Index. Note that once killed the frame, the table of contents, Index and search stops working.

  DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT:

  • A single RoboHelp HTML project with three exits. One of the outputs is a 'validation' reference that has its own Table of contents.
  • Validation reference Table of contents contains a subset of the subjects in the main help system. For example, the help system main table of contents contains a folder named 'Administration '. This folder is not in the table of contents of reference for Validation.
  • The reference of Validation is displayed on a public web site. Therefore, we applied the tag "Non_public_info" contained in the topics shared that we do not want to appear on the public website.
  • WebHelp parameters are:
    • Validation reference TOC
    • No map file, no sequence to browse
    • Conditional compilation expression: NOT_Non_public_info_AND_NOT_StyleGuidelines_AND_NOT_TRP (we keep our Style rules in the project to facilitate access during development. TRP content must be rejected because it was not released.)
    • Exclude non referenced topics of output is selected.
    • Search options. Only 'Show Total number of search results' and 'View AND search Option in outputs' are selected.
  • After generating the WebHelp, we remove the files that we don't want (RoboHelp generates empty folders, even if the files are not in the table of contents.)

  PROBLEM: A search in the help of Validation reference reveals the topics that we think should not be included because the subjects themselves are not in the table of contents of Validation reference. For example, the section "Data quality analysis" is in the main table of contents help, but not in the table of contents of reference for Validation. Therefore, we do not expect the topic appears in the search results pane at all. But he does. When the user clicks on the subject, the "Resource not found" message appears.

  Nothing shows the topic Style_Guidelines because the StyleGuidelines label conditional construction applies to the entire folder and the "Style guidelines" book in the main table of contents. (Same thing for the TRP folder).

  QUESTION: Why are topics which are not in the table of contents and whose records are not in the project at all appearing in the WebHelp during a search? We need to rewrite the expression of conditional compilation or establish conditions differently. We assume not have topics in the table of contents, not including the topics not referenced in the output, and remove empty folders would be the way to go. Any help is welcome!

  The table of contents does not control what ends up in the output for output online. All content tagged and tagged content which is not excluded by the expression of construction will be included. The parameter 'Exclude topics not referenced output' more exclude all subjects which are not in the table of contents AND are not related to any topic which is included in the output.

  On the other hand, for the print output the table of contents control which is found in the output. I think that it will fire a lot of people.

  If you generate the help and that you do not remove the unwanted files, do you still have the error? If this isn't the case, you know that the topic is referenced somewhere in the content of the reference of the Validation.

  Here is the help of RH11. I can't imagine it would have changed, but you could do a search to verify a second time for RH2015.

  Exclude output not referenced topics

  Select this option to exclude any topic that exists in the project, but is not the default theme in page layout or is not referenced table of selected contents, index or sequence to browse, or any referenced subject.

  Note: RoboHelp shows the topics not referenced that are excluded from the output in the output view module.

• Is the fix for the problems of WebHelp in RoboHelp versions 10 and 11 work when you access by using a Web server?

  I use RoboHelp 10 with the last fix of WebHelp.

  I copied files in the fix to the folder specified in the instructions, regenerated aid and tested my WebHelp on IE 8-11.

  Seen on the spot, the WebHelp output looks very good.

  Help is accessible by users of a web server, so I set up the output newly generated on our web server and tested the output and that's what I found:

  IE 8: Index and glossary are taking 3 or 4 seconds to load, which I guess I very well.

  IE 9: Index and glossary are taking 3-4 second to load. Index entries are too big and use a different font.

• RoboHelp Server 8 shows Blank Page when you go to the search engine

  Here's my problem.

  I have 6 projects between 2 regions on our RoboHelp Server 8.  I have

  never no problem posting to the server, our IT Department had no server, including configuration problem

  installation of Tomcat.  We have changed the port so it would go on the http default, 80 port.  Everything worked fine until this morning.  When you go to the link that is used to run in the search engine (i.e. name http://server/robohelp/serveur: ports? project prj = name & area = areaname), rather than the redirect page we get normally, get us a blank white page that shows in the status bar.  Our COMPUTER service attempted to restart the server, has not fixed the problem, they tried to restart the services (Tomcat and the RoboEngine), has not fixed the problem.  I tried to connect to the server via the RoboHelp development interface and get a connection to the server has no error. I checked the Webhelp Pro editing interface, which is what we use and all settings are correct. When I try to refresh the area get the impossible to get the list of the area of the server.  We can access projects as if what we use Webhelp.  We would use regular Webhelp but us isn't good because then there is no reporting functions because it is not executed in the search engine.

  When I'm well the Web administration Interface and you're trying to look at the section of the project that we get a server is refreshing to project data, try again later.  It's the same mistake that we received all day.  I'm now stuck and don't know what to do or try.  Between myself and my IT dept, we have tried everything we can think of.

  Just another treat so it can be excluded.  I applied the patch to my copy of RoboHelp 8.0.2 patch.  And since I am the only developer at this time, is not the issue.

  I have not tried to remove the shape of the server project, because

  Hi Ian,

  Did you change the property of "re-indexing" in your robohelp_server.properties file that I suggested to you in the email that I sent you?

  You must change the property of "re-indexing' to 'false' in the file robohelp_server.properties in the folder 'WEB - INF' in the RoboHelp Server installation folder, and then restart your server. I think that should solve your problem.

• Latest firefox won't let me access any page search engine or https

  Windows 10 o/s x 64 laptop Sony Viao. Full AVG anti-virus. The latest version of Firefox won't let me access any search engine, all (even Google) are unreliable. Clicking on a tab secure htpps also gives the same message and don't make an exception.
  I've been a regular user of Firefox, and before that, it was my favorite browser.

  This morning I was watching "Rachel Maddow" on the site Web of MSNBC and the video froze (a common problem with MSNBC). I closed this tab and tried to do something else (I think that access to a site of my toolbar 'Favorites'). That did not work either, so I closed my browser. When I have opened Firefox, I tried to do a Google search. When I typed "F", the "file" tab dialog box opened; When I typed 'E', open "Edit" (B = H = history, bookmarks, etc.). This happens if I try to type in the search box on the Google page or the search box in my toolbar. Any key that is not associated with a toolbar tab does nothing. I can access favorite websites, but if not, the browser is useless. I can't include s screenshot because clicking on my "Screen Grab" button closes the dialog box.   If Firefox can not read correctly the State of the Alt key and think it's stuck, this sometimes requires restarting Windows.
