Access to content the connection Internet of COMMENTS of the HOST machine

Hello

I have a Windows XP GUEST VM.

I need to know if it is possible to access internet from the GUEST through the host computer?

I mean, it is assumed that the HOST does not have an internet connection. I need a way to connect OS invited via my USB WIFI to my router. Then set up some sort of proxy server on the GUEST computer program.

Then Internet Explore on the HOST computer, I get the proxy server of the computer PROMPT for example: 127.0.0.1 8181 and it would allow me to surf for the HOST machine through my guest computer.

I saw something similar, so I'm sure it's possible, I don't know how.

I really hope that some VMWare guru on earth would be able to tell me how this delicate thing can be done.

Thank you guys

I just downloaded CCProxy 7, installed and it worked out of the box, so to speak.

According to the configuration prompt .vmx file that it uses "ethernet0.connectionType ="hostonly"" which by default would be VMnet1 then the host must be configured to use the address IP assigned to prompt only map the guest network which, according to 5. jpg is 192.168.40.128 and you are usin the port of CCPorxy by default for HTTP/RTSP which is 808.  This means serves as a proxy for the host definition should point to 192.168.40.128 port 808.

Also, I noticed that in picture 7. jpg you VMnet8 changed the default settings and seems to no longer be a NAT type adapter and you should really leave VMnet1 and VMnet8 alone and use the other VMnets if you need to configurations custom as the VMware Desktop products may have problems if the default network is not properly changed.

In any case if you do not have this work it would be good to see a screenshot of how you have configured the proxy host settings and exit if ipconfig/all on the host and the guest redirected to a file and attached to an answer.

Copy & paste the following commands, as is, and then press ENTER...

On the host in a command prompt. (Start > all programs > Accessories > command prompt)

ipconfig /all > "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\host_ipconfig.txt"

This will create a file on the desktop of the host named host_ipconfig.txt

On the client in a command prompt. (Start > all programs > Accessories > command prompt)

ipconfig /all > "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\guest_ipconfig.txt"

This will create a file on the client named guest_ipconfig.txt Office

Check the two unpublished files and attach to a response message.

  • VSphere running on the host machine?

Is it possible to run vSphere on my host machine to connect to itself?

I have VMware ESXi 5.0.0 Release Build 469512

It is not possible. We cannot install client vSPhere on ESXi.

ESXi is not a shell or console on which you can install the vSphere Client.

This is how it is designed. The host is dedicated to run ESXi. To manage ESXi, you must connect through a vSphere Client that is installed on a windows machine. Or add a vCenter Server host and manage through it.

    Hey extreme,

    Welcome to the VMware community.

I suggest you go with a desktop computer with the following configuration

Processor: Intel Core i7 or AMD equivalent

RAM: 16 GB minimum (32 GB would be great)

HD: Buy 2 X 2 to disks. everywhere where it allows it, use a provisioning so that you know if you actually use to the top of the storage.

Alternatively, you can also buy a motherboard of the server with xeon processor and install ESXi directly on it.

  • ThinApp - I can't install Excel 2003 and Access 2003 on the same machine

    Hi all

I have a problem and I can not solve. I have two packages of creatud:

    • Excel 2003
    • Access 2003

When I install a package, it's the work of weel but when I try to install the second, I got this error message:

A version identical or newer Microsoft Office Access 2003 (VMware ThinApp) is already installed

Can you help me please ?

    Miluge

The reason for the same GUID (MSIPackagecode, MSIUpgradecode) is the capture of the individual components of a single configuration. In your case, you could have captured Access 2003 and Excel 2003 in a single Office 2003 configuration. Thus, ThinApp share the same GUID of the original configuration.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

    1. open one of the package.ini and uncomment the code MSIProductCode and MSIUpgrade (by removing ';' at the beginning)

    2. change code both MSIPackagecode and MSIUpgrade for this package. You can do it by changing just a single bit in the 32-bit key.

For example, if your GUID looks like below,

    MSIProductCode = {2DF388F8-535F-6909-DBBA-288792F19500}

    MSIUpgradeCode = {0B400927-A236-B536-B00A-8961831A298F}
You can change the values as below. Here I changed only the last piece

    MSIProductCode = {2DF388F8-535F-6909-DBBA-288792F19501}

    MSIUpgradeCode = {0B 400927 - A236 - B536 - B00A - 8961831A 298G}

    3. rebuild the package and test it. It should work now.

You have 2 exchanges in different subnets, it is assumed that for some reason. Depending on your router and physical switches, you may be able to use virtual LANs to connect/isolate the two. It is also possible to use a virtual machine router that connects and routes between the two subnets. There are several routers of Virtual Machine in VMware devices downloads.

Forum upgrade notice - we will be upgrading systems VMware communities between December 10-12, 2010. During this time, the system will be placed in READ ONLY mode.

  • Is there an api to get the info of the OS running on the host machine?

My server is ESXi 4.1, and I can get this information from the property "name" object "AboutInfo.

But, I can't get the information about the operating system running on the server except the 'osType'.

    However, when I use the command 'uname - a', I can get a long chain, "Linux 2.6.18 vcs - 164.ESX #1 Fri Apr 16 14:57:03 PDT 2010 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux" for example, as a result.

So, my question is that how I can the information of operating system as the above string?

There are a few places to the VM guestOS.

    (1) when you create a virtual machine, you assign a guestOS type based on the list available in the API here - http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vc-sdk/visdk41pubs/ApiReference/vim.vm.GuestOsDescriptor.GuestOsIdentifier.html#asianux3Guest. As you can see, it does not include something on a certain core, just the major release version. If you want to query to see what guestOS "configured" has been assigned to particular VM, you can take a look at its config info here - http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vc-sdk/visdk41pubs/ApiReference/vim.vm.ConfigInfo.html

    (2) now, simply because you have assigned a unique guestOS, this does not mean that it be installed this particular operating system... It's bad because VMware did some things when it virtualizes this comments according to your selection. Another method of extracting the real guestOS leverages VMware Tools, if you have it installed and running within the guestOS, you can extract the BONE that is detected. You can find this information in the comments section that provides details of inside the guest - http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vc-sdk/visdk41pubs/ApiReference/vim.vm.GuestInfo.html. As you can see, not only you can get the information of the OS, but you can get things like address IP, etc.. Remember that this only works if you have installed VMware tools.

Now to give you an example where #2 would give better results than the #1. I installed a virtual appliance provided by VMware, the VM shell or it is configured OS has been set at Other Linux (64-bit) but when you query the information of the customer, the OS reported CentOS 4/5 (64-bit) , meaning that it really works. Again, you get only the type of operating system if VMware he understands and is able to detect it. You won't get details on the kernel version or updates/etc.

If you need this level of granularity, you will need to extract directly from the guestOS. VMware another API called VIX which allows you to execute commands directly from the guest's use case is mainly on the management of comments. http://www.VMware.com/support/developer/VIX-API/

    Hope this helps

  • Disabling network on the host while enabling in comments?

First post. Coming for a long time. My sincere thanks for all the knowledge I have gained this community over the years!

I use a virtual machine for all my internet needs and I would like to disable internet access into the host machine while leaving available for the virtual machine from the internet. Is this possible? I tried many settings that I can find via the GUI, and the only way I can access the internet via the virtual computer is if the LAN is enabled in the host.

(BTW, I have that the host is exposed to the network because it is a small utility, that I have always told me that there is a new version available when starting unless the LAN is disabled in this case, there is no notification.) Windows Firewall is in full force, but I don't want ANY communication between the host and the external network).

    Thank you!

TXuser offers a good solution and add that if you don't have a router or do not change the settings for the router you can assign an address IP in the range 169.254.x.x to the NIC in the host and this will allow the guest OS to be configured using bridged network and receive an IP address from the DHCP server or router on local network and then the guest will be able to connect to the Internet host However, will not.

  • To access the symbols parolees disable FPGA of host machine

    Hello

Is there a way to programmatically access the conditional FPGA disable the host machine symbols? I would like to have a host VI who could know if, for example, the bitfile FPGA has been compiled with ENABLE_AO or not.

    solarsd wrote:

Thanks for the tip. I was about to resort to something like that, but I thought that it would be uneconomic in terms of FPGA resources, I didn't know that it was minimal. Furthermore, you happen to know more in detail how something as in the pobrepablo1 example (btw, thanks for the illustration) would be completed in the material? What is the cost of a Panel control before FPGA? I was getting the impression that this is important - in one case, I could only include the VI my FPGA by changing some controls in the constants.

You can get an idea of the use of the resources of statistical resources on the use of FPGAS screws. For example, I chose an FPGA random ones listed, and the table indicates that a Boolean or indicator control uses 3 flip-flops and 3 lookup tables, which is almost nothing. A constant uses resources from 0 (no logic). If your conditional constant disable can have more than 2 values, an 8-bit value is not much more expensive. If you have more than 256 possible values for a conditional disable, you're probably something wrong of course, I would not recommend using a string as in the example of pobrepablo, because it would be very expensive. That's as much detail as I can provide.

I find such behavior of weird symbol be honest. I realize that these symbols are gone after compiling, but everything is managed in a LabView project, if the symbols must be available throughout. I think changing the symbol value will trigger a recompilation of bitfile FPGA anyway, so the 'source' and the binary files are synchronized. The FPGA "bitfile", as I see it, must have a code of host interacting with the driver card hardware FPGA, i.e. where the State of these symbols must be exposed to the user in my opinion. Just trying to understand the logic behind this.

You can configure LabVIEW to open a bitfile on FPGA directly, without the VI used to compile. In this situation the VI and bitfile are not synchronized, and the bitfile could have been gathered in a different project with a completely different set of symbols parolees disable. The only way to guarantee that the bitfile is compiled with the right settings is an indicator on the front panel. You can take a look at the bitfile, it is just XML, and it doesn't even include the version of LabVIEW, used for the compilation. You can use a bitfile to a version with one crowd on the other, as long as the bitfile format has not changed. Disable conditional symbols are removed before the VI (in the intermediate form) is given in the Xilinx tools that actually create the bitfile. NEITHER could add more information, such as the value of the disable conditional, to the bitfile XML symbols, but there should be enough demand for them to do and they would then also need to add a mechanism to access this information. I could be wrong, but I don't know that enough people would find useful to a value of this change, when it is so easy to add an element of façade. Still, you could post on the Exchange of ideas FPGA and see if there is interest.

  • Smart card reader does not correctly connect once the virtual machine is restored from sleep using the vmrum controls

Smart card reader does not correctly connect once the virtual machine is restored from sleep using the vmrum controls

    Scenario is,

My requirement is after power, smart card reader can stay connected to the virtual computer with the already installed driver and the smart card.

    Kindly help with this problem.

Host operating system: Victoire 2012 R2

    The VM OS: win 10 x 64

    Thank you!!

    Dear all,

I had a work around for this problem. By adding "usb.autoConnect.device0 ="0xVID:0xPID"" this statement to the VMX file, solves this problem, that is, whenever the VM is wake-up by clicking on the link CV or using vmrun commands, it connects the unit in question automatically and it is charging correctly with his driver. Obtaining smart card detected after sleep\hibernate with no problems.

VID & PID is respective ID of the device that can be seen in the properties of the Device Manager "Device Instance path".

    Hello

I want to configure a guest computer with 2 network cards, one for LAN private and one for the external LAN.

Right now, the problem is that I don't have that 1 useable public IP I can use on the external network address.

Which means that it's either I configure the public ip address on the NIC host or on the comment card.

May I just know set network bridge on the guest computer and configure the external static public IP, and then click map NETWORK address of the host machine, I set up the ip address. Will this work?

    Please notify.

If you mean that by disabling TCP/IP on the host, the guest computer can access external WiFi?

Yes, if you use a Windows host, just uncheck the TCP/IP on the bridged card.

Or use NAT, then both machines can connect to the internet with a single IP.
