Acquire thermocouples with 6062E DAQ

Hello world

I wonder to acquire a bunch of thermocouples with a map of 6062E DAQ (and SC2345) but I wonder if it of possible or not. The smaller input range is 100mV and with a resolution of 12bits, it gives a resolution in volts of 0.0244 mV or 24uV. If I compare this value with the K type thermocouple NIST table (in degrees celsius):

1 ° C: 0,039 mV

2 ° C: 0,079 mV

So I should get a resolution of less than 1 ° C. Even if this is not the best card for this application...

Thanks for your help

Christophe.B

Hello

The map got a resolution finer than the sensor itself.

Your problem must come from your sensor.

A K-type sensor resolution: 41 microVolts per degree Celsius

  • New Daq with the Daq Assistant in the filtering code

    Hei,

I have a NI USB-6225 DaqMx I used a couple of years. When I started with LabVIEW, I found the Daq Assistant to the best way to measure the voltage with my Daq etc. My company has purchased another DaqMx NI USB-6225 and now I have a big problem: the Daq Assistant in my old Vi does not work with the new data acquisition. I understand why there is this problem, but I do not know how to solve. I found this code on the forum who finds that Daq is connected:

The problem is that Daq Assistant do not have an entry for it, and it gives me an error if I try to run the code with a different device than the original, I used when I created the code.

Is there a way to solve this, so I don't have to convert all the Assistants Daq normal code?

    Hello again,

    two options:

    (1) as the old software is related to 'Dev1' you must rename your new device to this alias and skip/rename the old device (and lack).

    (2) rewrite your old software does not become is not dependent on the name of the alias for the data acquisition card...

    It's your choice!

  • Replacement of simulate signal VI with the DAQ assistant

    Hello

I have a VI fucntioning, where signal comes 2 simulate VI signals and is being recorded.

I replaced that with the DAQ assistant. I want to know if the wiring is correct and if it will give me the same result as the simulated VI.

    Thank you.

    Hello Andy,

Thanks for the reply, yes I did that as well, another way to do it is the 'split signal VI' that automatically separates the signal into 2 channels, most of the high sons being Ch 0

  • Calibration of thermocouples in the DAQ Assistant, using data from spreadsheet?

    Hi all

For my first application LabVIEW, I'm looking to automate the calibration of thermocouples by measuring their response at different temperatures in a dry well Sizer. I get temperatures of thermocouples six by SCXI 1303/1102/1600 and have six channels put in place in one of my subVIs in the DAQ assistant.

I compare these values to temperature calibrator that I am acquiring by VISA series in an other Subvi. All these values are written in a .csv file.

Can I import these data into the DAQ Assistant to use for calibration? Is there a simpler way to associate with the channel calibration data? Currently, I could manually copy - paste the cells on the worksheet in the calibration sheet, but that seems just silly.

If there is everything that I could provide to help solve the problem, let me know!

    Thank you!

    Hi Zoysiamo,

It is possible to automate the calibration screws DAQmx at a lower level, in particular the DAQmx channel property node. Using you can specify advance nationwide and the values on the scale for your channel. I recommend you take a look at this example of the community. The property node configuration will be similar to, as illustrated below:

  • Noise thermocouple with PCI-6230

What level of noise should be expected for a K type thermocouple used with an acquisition of data PCI-6230 and a map derivation CB-37F-HVD? I read the data with LabVIEW and Daq Assist module on the setting of the thermocouple and the noise see of +/-1 ° C. For a type thermocouple K 41uV / ° C is 3 times the 6230 noise expected (13 uVrms) runs around 0.2 full scale. I think it should be more stable measures or is this a normal behavior?

    Thank you

    Dan

This level of noise is expected. To improve, you can use a card with a noise filter. A dedicated thermocouple module would also work, but this includes a noise filter as well.

  • How to use HX85BA sensors with NI DAQ system?

    Hello

I'm trying to connect two sensors of Omega HX85BA moisture to my NI DAQ system. The sensors detect moisture, barometric pressure, and temperature, using three 0 to 10 VDC positive outputs @ 10 mA or less, with a common thread of output. I have a SCXI-1000 chassis with two modules SCXI-1100 cards, 1102 b and a single 1102. Map of 1102 uses a block to connect SCXI-1303, while the other three cards use some 1300 years. The system will mainly use thermocouples for temperature measurements, but there will be other types of sensors, such as the two HX85BAs.

The manual of the product for the HX85BAs is not very clear on how to connect the sensor to the system. Terminal blocks each have 32 channels with the positive and the negative screw terminals, it doesn't connect three positive sensor outputs to individual channels, with the municipality of output connected to each channel? It will work installation with SCXI cards I have, or I will have to purchase different cards? The system will be expanded to include at least 4 cards in a separate chassis SCXI 1000 more, is not a problem for the purchase of different components to adapt to the HX85BAs.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi BBalmforth,

You can connect the sensor to the SCXI-1100 1300 TB. Connect the positive output of CH + and CH - CHSGND. Common output wire must be connected to GND.

  • Calculation of error with custom DAQ scaling of the 4-20mA signal

    Hello

I use the material for the acquisition of data NI USB 6009 and Labview 10.0.1. I use the DAQ assistant to acquire a signal 4-20 mA, which works perfectly well. I tested with a waveform graph and the range of the machine corresponds to the current signal.

Now, when I use a custom in the DAQ assistant, after about 4, scale 8mA the value of 'x' does not. I don't get an error, or whatever it is, it seems that there is an upper limit. When I turn off the custom scale, I see that there is nothing wrong with the signal to my.

Can someone help me how to solve this problem?

    Welcome,

Nevermind, solved the problem. I didn't know that the scope of the input signal must be set globally. Once this is done, the problem was gone.

  • Acquiring temp with NI 9214 using labview fpga

    Hello

I'm a student, very new to labview and data acquisition. I had problems with a thermocouple type T of wiring to a NI 9214 module and writing a program labview FPGA to acquire temperatures. I've been struggling with this and for a long time to research on the web without success.

Please find attached the code that I work with. I was told to use the value obtained from the CJC and converted using the formula I found here ( http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370984T-01/criodevicehelp/9214_converting/ ) and arrays of conductor thermocouple type T to find the temperature, but I didn't get anything that makes sense.

    Please can someone help me?

    Jeremiah

    Hi Jeremiah,.

You use this 9214 in cRIO chassis? If Yes, which model?

Regarding the conversion of the data, you have to take care to recover the data from the side host (you'll need a separate VI) and taking care of converting it. When you mention that you don't get what makes sense, what exactly read / do you expect?

I strongly suggest you open and tinkering with the example of the host/FPGA shipping screw to the 9214 (NI 9214 Get Started.lvproj, found in the program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 2013\examples\CompactRIO\Module Specific\NI 9214\NI 9214 Getting Started). It should allow you to have a good knowledge in understanding the relationship between the host and the screw of the FPGA.

    I hope this helps!

  • Number of events with the DAQ Assistant, offered PFI0, offered Ctr0. Samething?

    DAQ USB DAQ Assistant 6009.  I plugged a PFI0 (port 29) push button switch and + 5V (port 31).  Setup Assistant DAQ ==> Acquire ==> meter entry ==> edge ==> Dev1(USB-6009) - Ctr0 counter ==> a sample on request.

I was offered the Ctr0 and not PFI0 (port 29) selection, so I chose Ctr0.  Samething?  Will this work with how I wired to the top of my switch?

I count 'digital highs', so wire to 5V and sprayed.  Right?

With LV2013 and an acquisition of data connected to the computer, you can do what I did in a vi project and/or a regular, standard vi.  Right?

    Thank you for your time

  • Need help with hardware DAQ in Labview

    Hello

I'm new to LabView programming so I need some advice from you guys... My goal to use the labview is to calculate the dynamic mass or the apparent mass of the human subject in a rigid seat. The dynamic mass is calculated as the ratio between the cross of the spectrum between strength and signal acceleartion so that the autospectre of the Basic acceleration signal that LabVIEW can be done using FRF. I've attcahed the VI tht I created in order to calculate the FRF and spectrum of auto for the force and acceleration of Basic. Number of samples = 1024, rate = 100 Hz and the acquisition mode is continuous for the acquisition of data. Acquired signals were filtered using a lowpass with cut filter off = 25 Hz frequency as my frequency range is from 0.5 to 20 Hz. the number of averages = 6, with an average of mode = RMS average weight = linear mode. This basically the implementation that I use for my experiments. Now coming to my questions... I would like to record the time signal for both strength and Basic acceleration to do some post treatment how to do that in Labview? Here I have to say that getting two coulmns of data were only one column is for the moment and the next is for the data of force (or acceleration), with my setting I have 6000 samples for 6 medium.

For preliminary tests, I used a rigid seat to acquire the strength and the Basic acceleration signal in Labview DAQ. the stage in this case should be about zero, but the answer in step with the VI me different gives a value of 180 degrees. I would like also to say that for some of the iteration, the value tends to zero, but after only 6 average it shows me about 180 degrees phase. Iwould wish I had some comments from that aspect also.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Suresh

  • MAX with replication DAQ cards

    Hello

Hope someone could shed some light on this

Its a long time since I've used Labview & MAX and am a little rusty right now.

I'm trying to upgrade an old data acquisition system to a newer version.

This is because originally one full working backup system was necessary, but because the old DAQ cards are obsolete,

    a simple update was necessary.

    Old system:

    LabVIEW 7.1

    MAX 3.1.1

    Data acquisition card: PCI-6023E

    New system:

    LabVIEW 7.1

    MAX 5.0

    Data acquisition card: PCI-6220

There is no change in the Labview application.

    In the new 5.0 MAX.

I'm trying migrate/replicate all virtual channels & settings of the old system.

I managed to set up a new configuration using file for the acquisition of data from the old system.

This resulted in the creation of chains of virtual of NOR-DAQ traditional under the District of data, which is what I wanted.

But the problem is, all the channels received a red cross.

Clicking on properties of the individual chain shows that no device is selected in the hardware section. There is none to choose from.

    Under devices & Interfaces,.

The new card is correctly installed and running.

    Appears as > NI PCI-6220 'Dev 1.

How can I make this device available in virtue Traditional NOR-DAQ virtual channels in the data area?

Is it because the new MAX/data acquisition card requires the method task NOR-DAQmx to create virtual ways?

I want to migrate channels instead of recreating that there are a fair few and each with their own settings.

    In the old system.

    Under devices & Interfaces,.

    That's what it shows:

    -Devices of NOR-DAQ traditional
    PCI-6023E (1 device)

    -OR-DAQmx devices
    -PCI-6023E: "Dev 1.

The device is recognized under the District of data - Trad VC through NOR-DAQmx devices.

I can attach a screenshot for systems if it would help at all.

    Thanks in advance!

    -Ram of Aust

Bad news...   Your most recent 6220 is a M-series it is * not * supported by NOR-traditional DAQ.  This is why it does not appear as an option under the traditional OR-DAQ driver.  To use the most recent data acq card, you * must * swtich above DAQmx.

Your old 6023E Board should be accompanied by one or the other pilot (but never both at the same time), so it may be be jointly installed a print while you set on the (tedious) company to recreate channels for your new Board in DAQmx.

  • Synchronize two E-card with traditional DAQ series

    Hello

I have a PCI-6052E and a PCI-6071E and I have a Matlab program that interacts with traditional hardware DAQ driver cards.

It is possible to synchronize the two cards use RTSI or something? If so, what should I do in matlab to achieve?

I'm a bit confused, because I don't know if this is only possible using DAQmx.

    Thank you!

    Hi zlyhere,

Using DAQmx would definitely be the best choice.

In terms of using C vs the Data Acquisition Toolbox for The MathWorks Inc. Matlab® Software, I would recommend the Toolbox for ease of use.  The MathWorks develops the Toolbox, so they must have documents on how the maps can be synchronized.

If you find that you need more features, you can fall back to C.  Documentation is available at

    "" "" Start menu"all programs" National Instruments "NOR-DAQ" support textual Code ' using NOR-DAQmx C reference

  • Problem with traditional DAQ passage to DAQmx using NOR-6534

I'm moving the traditional following of DAQ code to DAQmx:

This code is used to send data to program a FPGA using a PCI OR-6534 DIO.  This code works like a charm, but when I try to write the equivalent code using DAQmx (in LV 8.6 as well) it does not work.  I don't get any errors, but the FPGA do not program.

The General procedure is as follows:

The value of all the lines on the Port exit 0

Set up the mode of transfer to low Active

Write the data in the buffer

Send the data using the internal clock of 10 MHz of the 6534 (6533 is no longer used, but the code was never updated)

Wait until the output is made

    Disable the task

In DAQmx I configured as such:

Any ideas on what has changed in DAQmx or what I am doing wrong?

Looking at your code traditional DAQ once more, he is actually setting up handshaking vs just a straight sample clock.  The Config VI Mode with the "clock polarity" setting is not a sample generated at a certain rate clock, but instead, it's a protocol handshaking attack or the trailing edge.  TDAQ had much more flexibility with what DAQmx and some handshaking protocols are not transferable to DAQmx completely.

So when you say the configuration of your device in TDAQ bass Active transfer mode, I don't see what is happening in the code TDAQ.  It's really a negotiation protocol of unknown polarity (given that you use a control and I don't see the default value in the public Service).

You can try to determine which protocol handshake TDAQ you use first, then determine if there is an equivalent for DAQmx.  The three modes that cannot be transferred are level ACK, tip, or long pulse modes.  These have ACK leading REQ, which is not possible for DAQmx to manage.  You can read more in the user guide for the 6534 and starting on page 3 and 4 are the comparison of the different modes of handshake.

Then move forward options are do not migrate or to download a beta driver TDAQ, if you perform the migration for the purposes of the compatibility of the OS.

Hope this helps, let me know what other spawn of this.  Thank you.

  • NEITHER 9213 working with 9174 DAQ for reading of temperature

    Hello

I use NI 9213 and DAQ-9174 to monitor the temperature. Without thermocouple wire connected, using NOR-DAQmx tasks, reading is 2.296334 K. When I use DAQmx Read (Analog DBL 1Chan 1Samp) .vi, reading is 1377.69.

    1. What is the good?

    2. why reading is not taken into account the room temperature which is around 26?

    3. do I need to do the calibration for NI9213 before using it?

    Thank you

    Ott

    Hi Ott,

If you do not have a thermocouple attached to the 9213 module, the module just go read electric noises. This electrical noise has no physical relationship to the room temperature. When you do actually connect the thermocouple, be sure to configure the DAQmx task as a task of thermocouple to HAVE. Also be sure to select the correct thermocouple specifications (i.e. type of thermocouple).

Here is a good article giving measures by thermocouple.

Here is the acquisition of data getting started guide.

    Hope this helps,

I want to measure the tension of a place and it was working fine, but now I want to measure the temperature of the room too... and that's my problem.

When I put 2 virtual channels DAQ, that it won't work, I get an error when I tried to read the voltage and the temperature.

Error-50103 occurred at DAQmx Read (analog 1-d Wfm NChan NSamp) .vi:1

    Possible reasons:

If I click on continue, I get the same error again and again and again...

Can someone help me on this?

How can I track more than one thing with DAQ MX?

Because when the measures only one thing it works, but when I try 2 or more, it's crushing.

I download the vi and an image with the code!

    Thank you

You should do something like that. I don't really know if the data is sorted by the column or lines when you return a 2D array. This is for temporary data in the last column. If it is sorted by lines, then wire the '7' in the line of the array Index. Or, move the table to Index at before the transposition table.

You can use the function remove the table to remove temp data before moving on to the loop for. It is up to you. The for loop you have is built also hurt. Make use of the functionality of an Auto-Index loop and you don't need over to Terminal n of the loop and eliminates the Index table inside the loop function for.

Spend some time and take the LabVIEW tutorials and look at examples of delivery to get an idea of how do the work of loops and options for indexing tables.
