added to my Aspire E 15 CD/DVD drive

I have an Aspire E15. It did not come with a cd / dvd player. I would like to know if it could be added. There's a place for it, it has a plate that covers the area, that it would be.

  • Missing DVD drive Aspire 5733Z

I have an Aspire 5733Z with a DVD from Toshiba burner in it.  Running Windows 7 Home Premium.  It just stopped working when I started my diet this morning.  The keyboard and the trackpad had stopped working as well.  I used the F8 screen to restore to last good configuration.  It restored the keyboard and trackpad.  But my DVD burner does not work now.  I had before, used to run a live Linux CD and find the post on the forum who advised on the edge of good configuration was last used.

But as I was closing the live LINUX CD, he told me to remove the media from the drive and close it, as I did, then click on system restart, I did.  Once I got into Windows, keyboard and trackpad worked again, but now my DVD drive was not.  I did a google search and went to a Microsoft forum (you are bound to get good advice it right?) ) and I followed their instructions to go into the registry and remove a couple of values - carefully followed the instructions, so I know I have done this correctly.  That did not work.  Then I followed their next step if this does not work, even if I did wrong I think.  Rather than remove the driver, I deleted the DVD in the Panel.

When I realized what I did, I used the control panel to detect changes on the hardware and it reinstalled a driver of the engraver DVD Toshiba but I'm not sure that he reinstalled the right one.  He installed one for a Toshiba DVD-RAM burner, I don't think that this model supports RAM, so it's probably the wrong driver.

Can someone point me to the correct driver to install? Maybe help me to understand this mess? Understand why the DVD does not work?  Windows it is grateful, but the door does not open.  You can press the button on the door will not open.  Right-click on the DVD drive in my computer, and in the context menu you can click on eject - will not open.  Thanks for any help you can give me.

If anyone has this problem, try to reinstall your chipset drivers and remove the DVD drive and reinstall.  One or other of these things fixes this problem for me.

  • The CD/DVD drive in my laptop is missing or not detected by my Acer Aspire 4520?

A while ago my laptop Acer fell and the CD/DVD drive pulled after its fall. I thought for sure that it was broken and my laptop. Fortunately it seems not that this was the case and after that put in does what it normally would, the green light would flash and it seemed to work again. However, I never thought not to test with a DVD or CD to see if it actually worked. Is that recently that I started to use CD for games and other and I found the driver to read the discs, but nothing happened thereafter.

Well for some time now, I tried to find a solution to my problem. The driver seems to work, but when it comes to playing the discs it do anything more. Some of my other programs such as Windows Media Player saying that my laptop is missing the driver CD/DVD. I also went to the menu of F2 from the laptop to the startup and after looking around, I find that there is no entry for the CD/DVD drive and that the entry is empty. I'm not sure why my laptop can't detect the drive. I tried many things such as the Microsoft Fix It, but ends up giving me an error saying that some components are not well read or something similar to that.
Any help is greatly appreciated and if there is anything that I can provide for any further help I will do it gladly.
I should also mention that the CD/DVD does not appear in Device Manager.

I have a multitude of technical knowledge so I did everything that a person can do without breaking the system or files or material damage. There is no error and more it can not find any material to burn or play CDs or DVDs. CODES NOT... and the reason is the following:

WHY is happening. Why is this drive here? Come to think of it, he's always been there, but he never asked me no problem. Never had to worry about this, because I thought it was a drive partioned... but come to think of it, why would you need to support removable partion.

YES, community of microsoft, I don't want to seem rude here, or be a thorn in the pants of someone, but this is absolute BULL. There is no drivers on the Acer site. NONE on the HP website. NONE on the website microsoft and you guessed it, NONE on the LG site... _, they do not even have the product on the site AT ALL! It is absolutely stupid. There are MILLIONS of us who use these products and help these companies and all THE of THEM do not give enough of fools who are we actually do things that WORK... and I've been faithful to Microsoft. I guarantee to update, and the representative of the customer couldn't help me... especially because she couldn't understand me, but it is another question. Someone please, please help me. How can I make this computer re - recognize this drive and how to prevent this from happening? Thank YOU for your time. I will be greatly appreciated. I wish I could pay you, but I spent only 49.99 for assistance from a representative, who got only to uninstall, reboot and reset... AS I had no FACT THAT 9million times before... • Satellite R630 DVD drive is power off and cannot turn on again

For the first time, I tried to use DVD drive to install software. However, I found that his power was turned off. I checked the manual, which suggests that the FN + TAB key to turn on. But nothing happened after that I indexed both keys. I don't know what to do now. Thanks for your suggestions!

    Hello

It s really strange that FN + TAB combination of keys doesn t work I often use this key combination to power on/off of the DVD player and it has always worked

In any case, have you checked if the CD/DVD drive is listed in Device Manager correctly?

Usually, if some keys FN n t work you must reinstall Flash Cards Support utility and added value package. These two tools can be downloaded from the official website of Toshiba:

    Jan

Well, usually if the CD/DVD drive doesn t appear in the BIOS or BIOS cannot recognize the ODD then chances are that the CD/DVD drive is malfunctioning.

But the best way to check this is a new installation of the OS. You should try to boot from a bootable XP CD.
If the laptop would be able to boot from the CD, then the material is ok.
