NOT READING DVD-ROM and replaced by ghosts DVD drive drivers

I have an ACER Aspire 5520 laptop with WINDOWS VISTA... and before I continue, let me say that I have been a loyal user of Windows for many years... BUT WHAT ME LOST MY MIND NEVER LOVE! Everything in FACT RANDOM, my DVD/RW has stopped working. First he did on my Windows XP PC and I thought, well, maybe it's 6 years old, time to upgrade. BUT now its happened on my laptop. I was watching a DVD at 8 o'clock in the morning. I go to sleep, wake up, DVD players do not work. I have a multitude of technical knowledge so I did everything that a person can do without breaking the system or files or material damage. There is no error and more it can not find any material to burn or play CDs or DVDs. CODES NOT... and the reason is the following:

MY LAPTOP HAS A DVD GHOST ON IT. It is not the real player... I have no idea why it is installed, but it is. The drivers are the SAME ones my car needs.

I have a

HL-Hitachi-LG GSA - T20N (AARK104) Super multi DVD Rewriter SN/708HP090709

The computer tells me that it is a:

HIF 3GMNC96ZWX2 SCSI CD-ROM drive

WHY is happening. Why is this drive here? Come to think of it, he's always been there, but he never asked me no problem. Never had to worry about this, because I thought it was a drive partioned... but come to think of it, why would you need to support removable partion.

YES, community of microsoft, I don't want to seem rude here, or be a thorn in the pants of someone, but this is absolute BULL. There is no drivers on the Acer site. NONE on the HP website. NONE on the website microsoft and you guessed it, NONE on the LG site... _, they do not even have the product on the site AT ALL! It is absolutely stupid. There are MILLIONS of us who use these products and help these companies and all THE of THEM do not give enough of fools who are we actually do things that WORK... and I've been faithful to Microsoft. I guarantee to update, and the representative of the customer couldn't help me... especially because she couldn't understand me, but it is another question. Someone please, please help me. How can I make this computer re - recognize this drive and how to prevent this from happening? Thank YOU for your time. I will be greatly appreciated. I wish I could pay you, but I spent only 49.99 for assistance from a representative, who got only to uninstall, reboot and reset... AS I had no FACT THAT 9million times before... Sorry, just angry and purge. :)

Hey Batman,.

The reason why you can not find the driver is because the player is no longer supported.

You can try the following additional methods and see if he has any of it.

Method 1:

You can look in the article below and run the Fix It or manual steps to delete the upper and lower filter.

Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/982116

See if it was useful.

Method 2.

  • DVD RW CD RW does not read CD ROM or Audio CD (XP Pro)

I tried the fix option, tried to find out if it is activated, etc. Still not reading.

Problem is the CD Player reads only DVDs (takes a minute to load) it won't read/write on CD or open the CD. The CD is not corrupted I used them several times before and others are empty. When I try to burn something using Nero 7 on an Audio CD it just keeps telling me to insert a CD R/RW blank, even if it is present in it. It makes a click noise all few seconds, but is never to play the disc, or accept it has a vacuum in and let me continue to burn files that him.

When I tried a CD Rom it just stopped after trying for 30 seconds and has not loaded.

When I tried a legitimate Audio CD (bought) he did the same. Ever, loads the data.

In fact, I was downloading a game whose download was about 5 hours. So, I start in the morning and destiny to let it download until I got home. Now, in general, I did it all the time without ANY problems, but when I got home yesterday, 12/08/09 about 19:10:00 PST, the screen was black and read something along the lines of insert a bootable media device or restart your computer. Then, knowing that my score was beautiful and just as good HARD drive, I restarted. He reloaded the check disk tool and started a scan of my C: drive. He then started a long list of repairs, the removal and relocation of some files and things. Fine. Regardless of return to work. However, once it started normally, I couldn't access the internet. I tried to use the installation disc supplied with my DSL 2WIRE Modem, but it did not read and doesn't not appear on my computer. • CD/DVGW TSSTcorp TS-L632M ATA Device is not reading DVD

Original title: TSSTcorp TS-L632M ATA Device CD/DVGW

I have a HP laptop and have a problem with the DVD device. It doesn't read the DVD - RW. It shows me that the DVD is empty. I tried with DVD which worked without any week issue two or three, but now they are unable to read. I tried to use a Microsoft Fix it on the site, but it could not solve the problem.

    Hello

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
    correctly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

    ===========================================

This troubleshooting could not help if there is alignment and/or wear issues however it
    a shot.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive

What is the point of a new DVD player that can not read the DVD-R commune!

I want to emphasize that the media reads fine in 5 different readers other than that burned the dvd - r to the origin. I have tried 1 x, 4 x & 8 x media with the same disappointing results.

    Hello

I don t know why it isn't possible, but have you checked all other CD for writing?
If this problem occurs with any type of media, so it s best to contact a Toshiba Service partner and ask for verification of the disc.

Read CD - RW discs, to a UDF reader software. Discs CD - RW are written in UDF 1.5 format. This UDF reader software can be downloaded from Adaptec "s web site: www.adaptec.com"

This software can play CD - RW discs written with rewritable CD drives that are written in UDF format. Without UDF reader software, CD-ROM/DVD-ROM in s Toshiba laptops can only read ISO 9660 discs.
