Adding and removing user accounts with PowerCLI

Hi all

I was wondering if there was anyway to add and remove users from a Windows Server 2003 using PowerCLI system.  Ideally, I expected to find a way to eventually automate a way to add and cancel the accounts with a script.

Thanks for any advice that anyone can give or you can push me in the right direction.

Best

No, I was aking because you can't do a "psexec \\computername.

The name must be resolved through DNS or WINS, so there should not be any need to move to IP addresses.

The fact that you cannot communicate apparently from a VMS on host A to a VMS on host B, could be caused by these two servers have the topology of the network. You have the same portgroup (with the same VLAN) defined on the two hosts?

Two virtual machines are connected to this portgroup?

    Hi Ewa,

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    1. You created this account, or he came to his own?
    2. You share this computer with another person?
    3. You did it all change important before the show?

If this user account is not created by you, then it might be the virus/malware. So, I suggest you run a full scan using the Microsoft Safety Scanner (MSS) to ensure that the computer is virus-free.

The Microsoft Safety Scanner free is a downloadable security tool that allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malicious software. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

I bought the PC Version of Fable III of this year early and installed and created an account with games for windows Live! About 2 months ago, I formatted my computer and reloaded windows 7! Last night I downloaded Microsoft Flight and used my existing account to play! Today, I installed Fable III and the game won't start as it says that I am not connected to the internet! This is wrong since I write here for you! Why my game will not, organize that I have connected to my account last night with problem now? Please help me?

Yes, unfortunately GFWL's an imperfect system. Steam has similar problems. I find the best way to avoid
problems is to play all the games that are related to a system off line.
I have absolutely no interest in what GFWL can offer online, in any case.
Many games have a "fix" for GFWL, which are generally easy to find through a search.
Of course these only help facilitate offside line.

Try Timeslips Fable 3 GFWL remover - it is well known in the modding community, particularly
its managers mod for Bethesda games and his job is safe to use.

  • Homegroup and multiple user account problems

I have been searching the net for information and can't find anything that matches.  I'm having all kinds of problems through the homegroup and multiple user accounts.

I would like to know: when a machine (laptop in this case) is off the network, the individual user accounts will remain visible under homegroup?

If they are not, then homegroup is not for me.

    UPDATE and closing:

I confirmed that the individual accounts of the user on a machine that visible to another when this computer is connected to another group residential computer on a local network domestic.  Why they don't look just like a homegroup internally I don't get except that the machine would always be part of a group residential e.g. a laptop, as in my case, would be carrying a homegroup with it and not be able to jump on another residential group in a different location.

What was causing me a lot of trouble has AVG Free.  Attention, the installation of AVG Free homegroup PCs cannot meet or is inconsistent at best.  My laptop would show the user accounts, but not the other homegroup PCs and both could indicate that there is no other available HG machine or sometimes invites you to create a homegroup.  It was a nightnare.

  • Standard user account with no parameters

I met only two computers that were unable to keep the settings. The first had problems displaying a particular site for a long time, and I was unable to discover the cause until I loaded another program that requires a record of the settings. This particular Web page requires some changes to internet security options, so I realized that internet options have been returning to default every single reboot. Because I know that internet options are saved in the registry, I began to seriously consider a new installation of Windows. Before doing so, I logged into the administrator account, only to find out that she had no problems taking these parameters. I changed the user account (which had been established for the type of standard user) to an account administrator, and not only he keep the new settings, he also recalled all previous configurations, I did. When a second computer has begun to do that, I tried this fix immediately, and it worked.

So, my question is this: is this behavior of design? I mean, I understand why access to the register would not be allowed in a standard user account, but if the system cannot change the registry on behalf of this user, and standard user accounts are practically unusable. I mean, I couldn't even standard user accounts to fit on a home page, not to mention several advanced settings. I also manage a XP machine that has a standard user account. (so far), which had none of these questions. If it's not designed behavior, is there a solution?

Wow! What a ridiculously condescending response. Thank you for that. I guess I should be used to this treatment of Microsoft; It's the kind of your norm.

Srimadhwa response was not condescending - it was simply a standardized response obviously resulting from Srimadhwa not fully read your initial post. From my experience, you get much better results politely point out surveillance instead of lashing out with a heavy dose of sarcasm. After all that it is a service that MS provides for free. Things would be a little different if you've agreed to pay for the advice.

  • Unable to make a selection in the context of important updates. Grayed. Open as administrator and not user account can not change to receive automatic updates

Sign on the user account as an administrator, but cannot change the automatic updates.

Under updates important area is grayed out and cannot select to change

    Hello Bill,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

As I understood it, you experience the problem, you cannot change the automatic updates even if you are logged on as an administrator user account. The option is grayed out on the system.

    Certainly, I understand your concern.

I would suggest trying the following steps and check if that helps.

    1. Open the editor of the register of the command RUN by typing "regedit" and click OK.
    2. In the tree on the left, open following files-online HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate.
    3. Remove the automatic "Update" folder This will remove all previous settings for automatic update.
    4. Open the automatic update of the control panel and option as usual.
    5. If automatic update is always gray, type the command "gpupdate/force" RUN and click OK or restart the operating system.

Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

I hope this information is useful.

  • Extra ' ' my Documets folder in my system and the USER account.

I use XP Pro and my system has been reinstalled around March. I was bound and not not determine that this happen. I went to Western Digital and watched the external 500 GB drive. They were always out of stock, so I said the * with it and go the 1 Terabyte. The lead first had problems so I had to wait again. When it arrived I started to drag / drop my file on the external drive. Somehow. and I don't know how to explain 'USER', that is Documents and settings - all users by default Administrator USER user the "USER" account earned an extra folder called got an additional file 'My Documents' on this account, it is a system file and I can't remove it. I tried all the suggestions, but good number of suggestions I could not follow because the procedure was not on my system.

All user accounts have the 'My Documents' folder and some of them are not the standard user system or administrator accounts that don't care.

As long as you save in 'My Documents' in your profile then life is simple. Your profile is physically located in C:\documents and setings but do not venture here as your dekstop icons already give you shortcuts to 'My Documents'. Voila

  • new and unknown user account - pirate being?

I have a MacBook Pro, on which I recently installed OS X El Capitan. A few minutes ago I had to force a shutdown down because my MacBook does not have answered what anyone more. When I restarted, I saw a new user account, that I have ever created. My macbook has been hacked? How can I remove such account unknown? I am concerned that at some point, it asked me to put my password to iCloud and other Apple ID - which I did not. Help would be very appreciated be! Thanks in advance

Unlikely, it was hacked. Go to System Preferences > users and groups, and delete the new account. Then please download and run EtreCheck, created by one of his own assistants here in CSA. It is a diagnostic tool that is very useful for us to find problems. It will also give us additional specifications on your Mac. After his execution after the logfile here. It will never contain any personal information.
