Hello

I'm afraid that you can't do much. As far as I know this update allows PPV than flash cards (when you press the FN key) move a lot faster than before. Of course, this new version kills other applications. I can imagine someone Toshiba noticed that the same and the new update will be available soon.

In the meantime you can try reinstalling both is not working tools solution.

  • Qosmio G40 and S-Video input

    Hello my friends,.

    I have a problem here: (...)

What I want is simple, in theory. I have a VHS VCR, I have a few bands I want to convert it to DVD. I noticed that G40 has a S-Video In, so what I did, buy a cable that is SCART on one side and the other is S-video, I plugged the VCR to the G40, supported to the play in the VCR button, Ulead factory began to Toshiba, but nothing happens, I can not save anything, even to get a picture... the problem is not the cable because I connected the VCR to the TV , the same way (with the same cable) and it shows fine.

Does anyone have an idea how to do that? I'm really desperate, I searched Foruns and googlled it but could not get a response.

    Kind regards
    Ricardo Monteiro

Ricardo is not a solution for you. The cable using S-video can only be used for the transfer of video signal.
Do you have the picture without sound. I don't think so.

I had similar experiences and I copied the old VHS tapes to my old Qosmio G30. Later, I converted the recorded material and created DVDs.
My Qosmio G30 has antenna at the port and I plugged my VCR VHS to this port and transfer of video and audio signals. For example I started video on VHS VCR and started Windows media Center and scanned the channels and on channel 33, I saw my recorded material that comes from connected VCR VHS.

I tried recording with Qosmioplayer and MCE. Using the two options, I was able to use the record option and have video content on the HARD drive.

I don't know that the same thing can be done with G40. Check it out.

AFAIK fan it's perfect job, just at the moment where I take it to another place and turn off and it appears as follows.

    Any help please
    Thank you

    Hello

The temperature seems to be ok
50 c for a CPU and 64 ° C for the graphics chip is nothing unusual

If you wish, you can change some settings for Win7 or Vista power management.
You can set the modules of cooling for maximum performance and can decrease the performance of the processor.

You can also try to clean the cooling modules. This should be done from time to time to remove dust that affects the circulation of air.
You can use a compressed air jet its ok for such a purpose.

    Welcome them

  • Qosmio G40 - how to reconfigure the keys above the keyboard?

Since the upgrade to Windows7, the buttons on the top of my G40 (TV, multimedia, Rec, Dolby, etc) don't work anymore. When I click on one, a pop-up window appears asking me to set up the button.

Now, I've changed a single button to task wrong.

    (1) how can I change this back?
    (2) how can I get functions return when moving the cursor to the top of the screen (does not work either)

    THX

    Hello

I think that you don t have to reconfigure the keys, you just need new version of Toshiba Value added Package which controls the multimedia keys.

I checked the website of Toshiba Qosmio G40 and Windows 7 and there is a newer version that is compatible with Windows 7:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

It seems the newer version 1.2.40

As far as I know the RAID options are offered on laptops with preinstalled Toshiba RAID Utility.
With this tool, you can choose between two options:
    -RAID 0 stripping
    -mirroring RAID 1

I'm not 100% sure but I think that Toshiba do not offer this tool for Qosmio G40 and I'm afraid that's not possible on your laptop.
This tool is preinstalled on your computer?

  • Error in PC Express on Qosmio G40

    Hello

I've owned my Qosmio again for 2 years. Its a Qosmio G40 and it worked very well.

Recently, I updated to Windows 7
Monday/Tuesday night, I had one of these standard windows updates that settle after clicking stop
Next morning, I turned on and get splashscreen without any pixel death/graphic card problems
Then the screen goes black and shows "PCI Express Error."
laptop was fine before the update to windows 7

I asked around a few co-workers and it seems to reset/update of the bios, after the last update of weekend - update caused something to go an ironic on their laptops from Acer/Asus - again suggesting flash window button of the bios in a way
I tried to download the update of BIOS 2008 (never updated again)
The problem is that the program is very specific, you have to get off the load on a computer toshiba laptop in order to extract the files from the cd-rom/USB
I tried to use the restore for vista disc - but as the bios is screwed all you get is the error message
Does anyone have the latest bios update, which can be sent to me a laptop toshiba so I can try to run it from CD/USB to see if that solves the problem

Or is it something more sinister?

Why don't you try to solve this problem by using the System Restore tool at first? Maybe some optional update Microsoft has screwed up something.

  • Qosmio G40-127 - need windows XP drivers

    Hello.

I just got my new Qosmio G40 and I want to install Windows XP Pro / Media center on this issue. I know it's possible, but I want to know wich drivers to use in order to operate correctly. I already had drivers laptopvideo2go nvidia, realtek, and chipsetdrivers. I need webcam, wireless lan, TV tuner, etc..

Y at - there anyone out there who have a Qosmio G40-127 and made a WXP install and know where to find these drivers? I don't have not upgraded anything but RAM to 4 GB. Otherwise, it is like new.

    Thank you

    Hello

You are right. The XP drivers are not available at this time on the Toshiba driver page. I didn't find it too. Looks like we have to wait...

    But listen;
There are some XP drivers for another Qosmio series; G30 for example.
You can try to install these unique pilots because many laptops are equipped with the same features and drivers may work too.

The WLAN driver can be downloaded from the Toshiba WLan Portal:
    http://APS.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

    like driver BT:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/Bluetooth/

The LAN driver can be downloaded from the Intel page because as far as I know LAN chip is an Intel 82566MC(Nineveh MC)

  • Toshiba value added package and Qosmio F45

    Hello

After reading [here | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=103556] that there is a problem with the keyboard shortcuts no longer work after the upgrade to the 'Toshiba value added package' in * Qosmio F45 * models, let me ask you if someone have correctly installed the latest version of the software (1.1.7) and have no problem with the keys.

I just installed SP1 on my system Vista Premius. Should I wait for problems with PPV?

    I'd appreciate your help.

    Alfredo

Just a short comment: version 1.1.7 is designed and tested with Vista without SP1. If you use it with SP1, you may have some problems. To avoid this Toshiba has to offer the new version. This new version will run in the new images of recovery (Vista SP1). After that it will be offered on the Toshiba support page.

Qosmio F45 is probably US laptop model and for all information visit Toshiba US page http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp

By the way: check out this interesting article on restrictions with Vista SP1

  • Toshiba value added Package for Windows Vista Version 1.1.3 on Qosmio F45

I installed the new * Toshiba value added Package for Windows Vista Version 1.1.3 * for my Qosmio F45-AV413 and function keys was arrested for work.

If I don't go back to the previous system, there is no action that I can do to make the works of buttons again.

I tested with Vista Home Premium which is installed with the product, tested with Vista Business from scratch, and none of them work as expected.

Well, if someone could help me with this question I really thank you,

    Marcelo.

Have you already tried to install an earlier version of the software function button on your system? I think the new version is buggy and if not already a newer version is released, you should have the old version until a new one comes out.

Please check if the old version works, it shouldn´t be a big problem for the single download from the Toshiba driver download site.

    See you soon

  • Re: Qosmio F50 - 12J - FN key doesn't work only with new value-added package

    Hello
    I have Toshiba Qosmio F50 - 12J and have problems with value-added Package v 1.2.28.

I can't get flash cards to work. When I press FN key on nothing happens. BTW, I installed VAP on freshly installed Windows 7 64-bit. With the VAP previuos version that I tried on Windows 7, KeNotify.exe broke. Now there is no apparent crash, but nothing happens.

Also, is there a problem with the utility of the Support Button (which touch). Whenever I reboot my system, all the white light LED on my laptop turned on even though I have them turned off.

So, could someone confirm that they have a work of value added Package v 1.2.28 on Windows 7 64 bit?

    Hello

I had the same problem on my Qosmio F50. The solution is just to install Flash Cards Support utility. This tool is designed for Vista, but I noticed that it also works on Windows 7. Just check the Toshiba page where you can download:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

In addition the lighting buttons work correctly on my F50. You can use them properly, or what happens exactly, if you press one of them?

By the way: there are two different versions of BIOS on the Toshiba site. You use the BIOS for Windows 64-bit? Check this box!

  • Qosmio G30 HD-DVD (PQ31): updated Value Added Package

I wonder if anyone has noticed this. They offer a value-added package update dated 08/01/2008 my Qosmio G30 HD - DVD (PQ31). The file reference is vap - 20080108132320.zip. I downloaded and installed the utilities contained in the compressed file, but now when I boot my laptop with Vista Ultimate, what follows are reported as incompatible with my version of the system: Toshiba Power Saver, Toshiba zooming Utility, Toshiba Wireless Hotkeys utility, Toshiba Raid Utility, controls of Toshiba, Toshiba Touchpad, utility, utilities Toshiba & finally Intel ProSet Wireless Driver.

After checking the zipped file, I noticed that the installation files are named for the PQ-32 my PQ-31!

Could this be the problem or Toshiba is not compatible Vista Ultimate? Your comments would be greatly appreciated

PS I assume that this question should be addressed to Toshiba direct, but strangely, they fail to give an address for your comments.

    Zaki

    Hello Zaki

Please don't be crazy about me, but what you wrote is noting but totally absurd. There is no difference between the versions of Vista and all Toshiba designed tools, utilities, or packages are universal and can be installed on every version of Vista.

Qosmio G30 is quite long on the market and you are the first person who says something like that. I really wonder why?

VAP is identical for both Qosmio models and there is no difference. PAxxx number is different but the platform is the same and there is no reason to make two different veterinary antimicrobial products.

To be honest, one thing is interesting to me: How do you get the following are reported as incompatible with the version of my system?

Before you try to install already preinstalled VAP should be removed first. If you do a clean install of Vista Ultimate there should not be any problems at all, just follow the order of the facilities.

  • Re: Value added package does not install correctly

    Hello!

I did not any changes made to the system installation of VMware exept. I tried to uninstall value added package, erased reg with CCleaner, then reinstalled VAP.
    Have made several times!

Still does not work! My PC is Qosmio X 300-12 H and it works on Windows 7 64-bit.

PS so far worked flawlessly (mute, lights, camera, dolby) I don't know what happened!

    Suggestions please!
