  Have an 1100 AP and use the GUI to configure.

  I know I want to use mac authentication, but I also want to use some type of encryption. I've been playing with it for the last 3 days now and peut t can't find a solution as to what I can do.

  Can someone please send a config that would give me a basic 128 encryption, which could be used by the majority of my clients? I d also like this config to require the use of it.

  These instructions assume that you start from the default values.

  STEP 1: select the required WEP encryption and set a key of 128 bits encryption key 1. Your customers will need match this information. They will need a 128-bit key in the same dwelling.

  Security > Encryption Manager

  -Section of Modes of encryption

  -Choose "WEP encryption" and select "mandatory."

  -Section of encryption keys

  -Set transmit the key 1 encryption key

  -Encryption 1:12345678901234567890123456 key

  -Encryption Key 1 key size: 128-bit

  -Click on apply

  I tried everything and searched the net for it without a bit of luck this time. I found a few years ago, but now I can't.

  I want to make a graph with http://oss.oetiker.ch/mrtg/ that list the number of clients that is connected.

  I know it's possible with SNMP, but I how no idea where. I know that I need the OID for this. The MIB should not be required, because as I understand it, these only reflect the human readable names OID. Well, this could in fact easier to find but I can't find them either.

  The cisco community string is arbitrary and you could do anything you want. It is the view definition and the application of this point of view to the public that were string limit what you could get out of the tree of the MIB on the AP:

  • ieee802dot11 of dot11view of view included SNMP Server

  This configuration line sets a new view called "dot11view" and limit from this point of view to only the OID in the ieee802dot11 of the MIB tree branch. The keyword included is inclusive and means that this view excludes everything in the tree except what is in the branch of ieee802dot11 .

  • SNMP-server community public discovers dot11view RO

  This configuration line sets a new community called public string while limiting his view of the dot11view, we created above.

  • Cisco SNMP-Server RO community

  This configuration line sets a new community called string cisco. Without view applied, it is free and if we call it, we can see anything in the MIB of the AP tree we ask.

  So when you use your snmpwalker with the public channel tool as it is currently defined with the dot11view, you are not deprived of everything except the part ieee802dot11 of the MIB tree.

• How to set up the 887VA-W-E-K9 AP?

  Ok. I have this C887VA-W-E-K9... He is running as a VDSL router without problems. It was a breeze... But how the hell do you set the side AP? I configured a before 850W. It was easy. I have configured all sorts of cisco devices. But for the life of me I can't understand the AP802 module integrated with this router.

  And I can't find any docs which seem to relate to this access point... I have docs for Aironet 1100... 1200... and others. And they are all set up just a bit differently...  The biggest problems I have in this moment will try to configure WPA... But the docs I can find just do not match what the AP expects of course... Some AP seems to have the SSID and the SSID settings are configured under the interface itself... Some have defined separately... The closest I got is a doc called "Cisco Wireless SRI and HWIC Access Point Configuration Guide" but if you follow what I get as much as

  dot11 ssid hurricane

  And it works as "open authentication" and then won't take ' wpa authentication key-management "because he says there is no encryption..." But I have

  OK, you need create both GigEthernat0.10 and then add 10 bridge-group under the secondary interfaces gig and radio.

  This sets up just like any other stand alone AP. don't forget to put the concert on the router interface in a trunk, port since you send tagged traffic.

  I think that everything is configured correctly on the AP - I checked network EAP and open. No VLANS configured. The ACS has the AP registered as a network device with the same key, as written on the access point itself and with RADIUS (Cisco Aironet) selected.

  Unfortunately, my clients associate but fail to obtain a DHCP address, then pass traffic.

  The Tablet PC is configured for windows XP networking, use of PEAP and dynamic wep key (or the key is provided for me).

  Someone had experience with these devices? We managed to bring the LEAP collaborated with Cisco ACU on a full laptop. The Tablet PC does not have the software of the ACU.

  Just found a few past responses that helped a little clear things upward. Could someone tell me if my reasoning below is correct please?

  ACS version 3.1 supports PEAP for Cisco wireless cards/customers only and doesn't support PEAP for 3 part cards and begging him to Microsoft.

So, if your computer has 512 MB of RAM, there is a page file 768 MB by default, for a total of 1.25 GB of physical + virtual memory.

  So what to do in your case? Generally, the RAM upgrade should solve this problem. You can also try to increase the size of the pagefile.sys.
  This can be done in system-> tab advanced properties-> Performance settings-> advanced-> virtual memory change tab.

  After the change of virtual memory, you have to restart the laptop again.
  If this will not help then an upgrade of RAM would be required or a new laptop effective ;)

• HP Touchsmart 310 1100 HP Screen-No Black logo or whatever it is-just a black screen

  I have a HP Touchsmart 310 1100 which when I turn there is only a black screen and I can hear the fans running. No HP logo or guest to enter the bios, just a completely black screen.

  I tried:

  (1) HP suggested resetting the default bios (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02217843) settings by pressing f10, f5 etc.

  (2) remove the hard drive, reinstalling memory, unplug all usb accessories

  (3) used another power supply from an another 310 HP

  (4) change the jumper on the motherboard from 1-2 to 7-8 and back to 1-2 to clear the cmos memory

  I'm about to remove the cooling fan and the unit and re-insert the processor, but I wonder if there is something to try before that.

  I'm starting to think it's a bad mother, gpu, or display the power inverter.

  It is out of warranty, so if anyone has any advice I would be happy.

  This seems to be a problem that has been listed in a dozen other posts without real solution given.

  I solved my problem with my 310 - it was the CPU. Replaced with the same model cpu AMD bought on Amazon.

  Works fine now.

  There is no video card to replace on my model 310. There is a video chip that is soldered to the motherboard.

  I have a Satellite 1100 Z6 and the screen does not appear correctly. It seems to show what I can only describe as a low resolution image.

  I instslled the last card (downloaded at Toshiba) Intel graphics driver and my settings are 1024 x 768 at 60 Hz and I have tried tweeking the settings but without success.

  I believe that the cause is due to an incorrect display driver and not the graphics driver that my display driver shows as a standard 'Digital Flat Panel' under hardware devices. I tried several drivers display different but once again with no luck.

  Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

  However, since installing it, my screen freezes everytime I start a game, or if I go into display properties & change anything. A hard reboot is required. Also, the startup process takes 2 - 3 times as long since this upgrade.

  Everyone knows about this problem? Does anyone know of a solution? I've seen a few posts on other forums about this, including some say that this problem came from XP Service Pack 2. Can anyone confirm this?
