  After uninstalling Google Chrome, hyperlinks in MS Outlook will be notwork.  I tried most of the things recommended in the old forum posts, but they all seem to be prior to Windows 7.  Nothing worked and I'm looking forward to a solution.  HTML file associations, etc are all in IE9, Chrome has been uninstalled, edited registry (even though I'm not an expert there) IE9 release candidate has been downloaded and installed.  I must respond to a window asking whenever I click on a hyperlink asking how to open the file so I have to manually associate with IE.   I am running:

I've done this before and nothing is wrong, but this time, I noticed that all my desktop icons have changed and each of them were by opening with WinRar. It is especially annoying because I managed to download a Spanish version of WinRar somehow and do not include any of the popups.
  I saw others asking the same thing and answers telling to go in Control Panel > programs > default programs > Set Program Access and computer by default, but I can't get there, because I don't know what program I open with.

  Most likely, you have associated shortcuts (.lnk files) with WinRAR.  Although it is also possible that you have associated executables (.exe files) too (or instead).  Fortunately, both can be fixed.
