All-in-one 5514 crooked glass top

Is it possible to fix the twisted screen? Copies and scans are slanted, not level

Phone calls to HP 1-800-474-6836 gave the final answer: HP determine the inclination of 1/8 of an inch to be within acceptable limits for this model. If I wanted good scans and copies, HP said, I should have bought a more expensive model.

HP has lost a few hours of my time to come to this conclusion. First call responded to the Philippines, according to "Bob", who responded the second phone call. Each insisted that I do a lot of printing in-house tests. But the impression is not the problem. Scanning and copying problems.

My solution: (1) put a very little bit of Ribbon on the top edge of the scan bed tilt paper to compensate for the shortcomings of the scan bed. (2) use (more expensive than the printer) HP ink cartridges and then buy another machine NOT of HP.

Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

.. .but the behavior of my printer has not changed, and the error message is still the same, when I tried to scan from the glass. Any help?

    Hi @jcoronat,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that you get an error when you try to scan. I would like to help.

I took most of these steps from a post of Sunshyn2005. To be honest, all I did is to change the links to software, but the post is enough onsite for troubleshooting of Mac software.

    Scrub / uninstall

    • Open the Applications folder > folder HP or Hewlett Packard > Uninstall HP
    • Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.
    • * Only perform this step if you have not all other HP printers.  Press and hold the Option, control and command, while now the three buttons.
    • Click Uninstall.

Manually uninstall the remaining files potentially - I apologize in advance is not a fun task! I'll try to make it easy to follow. Some of the files described in the following steps can be found, if you can't find one of the files or folders on your computer, do not be alarmed.

Move the files or folders to the Recycle Bin, drag and drop

    • Macintosh HD/Applications / /Hewlett-Packard folder
    • Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support /- delete all files and folders on HP/Hewlett Packard
    • In Macintosh HD/Library/Caches - delete all files and folders on HP/Hewlett Packard
    • Macintosh HD/Library/Documentation/Help /- delete all files and folders on HP/Hewlett Packard
    • MacintoshHD/Library/Frameworks/HPServicesInterface.framework

    • In Macintosh HD/Library/Image Capture/Scripts - delete all files and folders on HP/Hewlett Packard
    • In Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences - delete all files and folders on HP/Hewlett Packard

Move the Macintoshloginwindow.plist on the desktop. NOTE: Does not delete the loginwindow.plist file during the manual uninstallation may cause uninstall be retained.

    • In Macintosh HD/library/printers/hp - delete the folder
    • In Macintosh HD/Library/StartupItems, drag the following files in the trash, IO HP and HP trap monitor
    • In Macintosh HD/users/username (this should have a symbol of a house next to him) / Library/Preferences, drag the following files to the Trash: * all files starting with com.apple.print, * all files starting with com.hp, * all files beginning with Hewlett-Packard, * files starting with HP or hp
    • In MacintoshHD/users/USERNAME/Library/printers, drag all all-in-one printers listed here in the trash.
    • Drag the icons of HP from the dock and drop it onto a blank space on the desktop. The icon will disappear.

    Close all open windows.
    Turn it back on.
    Empty the trash.

    Reset the printing system

    1. Click on the Apple icon ( ), then click on System Preferences.
  • HP 4500 wireless printer: printer all-in-one cannot scan glass

My hp 4500 wireless printer worked fine until it just stopped printing.  I reintstalled the original installation disk and printing has been repaired.  However, the desktop icon for the hp Solution Center, which allows scanning of computer files, has not been activated, and accordingly, I am unable to scan from glass.

New driver from HP site could not install completely and still have the same problem.  I tried to reinstall the existing drive, and it is still able to print, but still can not sweep.  The desktop icon is always off.  Didn't test the fax.

I have here an updated driver that contains the implementation complete for the 4500 Wireless: G510n-z

My system is Windows 7 64 bit.

    Please answer.

    Hello @rudetom,

I would like to see if I can help you get your Officejet 4500 Wireless software working again.

Looks like pieces of old software is causing the installation to fail. I would like to clean at the far (unisntall) and try again.

When you have uninstalled the printer software, it is possible that pieces of it may remain which could interfere with a reinstall. I recommend referencing the steps described in this document to make sure that you haven't missed anything whatsoever; Uninstalling the printer software. * If you are connected with a USB cable, be sure to unplug it.

You can also delete files using disk cleanup - take care to put check marks in selection boxes when it is available.

Software drivers can hide other places would be in your device manager.

    To open Device Manager:
' 1) click on start (Windows icon) and enter the Device Manager "in the search field.
    2) click on Device Manager.
    (3) you can click on View, in the upper windows and then show hidden devices.
    (4) to develop the types of devices and check for any pilot associated with your printer.
    (5) to remove a device from Device Manager, right click on the device name in the list and then click on uninstall.

For more information, see device for Windows 7 Manager information.

Once you have removed everything, I restart your computer and then try to download the new software again to HP Officejet 4500 Wireless - G510n full feature software and driver.

If you still have problems, please let me know what kind of error you get and how your printer is connected to your computer. What is direct installation USB or wireless?

Please let me know if any of these steps has resolved your problem, or if there is anything else I can do to help.

I look forward to hear from you!

    Thank you

  • Cannot copy from the surface of the glass. HP Photosmart Premium Fax all-in-One, model # C410a

    Hi people,

I can't make a copy of the surface of the glass of the printer. Automatic advance works great, time to take the paper and print a copy. In the past, printing from glass was not a problem. The error message on the printer says "Document Feeder Jam. Reload document, then restart of work. " The problem is that there not be jammed. I raised the lid of the printer and checked the ink cartridges, checked the paper tray and open the access to the rear of the printer.  I have an HP Photosmart Premium Fax all-in-One, model # C410a. All accepted ideas. Right now, I'm ready to start with a hammer.

Oops, I got typo in my link.  I have the fix above or you can click here.

    RodeDraak

    Hi RodeDraak,

Given that the problem occurs when you run a copy, I hope that the problem is the printer hardware not the software on the computer.

You have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is this a surge protector or power bar? Even if you have used a surge protector/power bar this whole time and you feel that this is not the case, please connect to a wall outlet so that we can eliminate the source of energy as the primary cause.

  • 5610 all-in-one - black thick top of line down on the pages scanned using the scan feeder tray ONLY

Using HP Officejet 5610 all-in-one I've had for years and maybe 6 months ago, I noticed that anything that is analyzed by the load plate (if you need to scan a bunch of pages without having to analyze each page individually between analyses what is tedious that need constant attention) has this thick black line goes up and down on the middle left of THE pages scanned. Honestly, it looks really bad like if there is something hidden in this terrible line through the process of moving the paper through the feeder, BUT the original is just fine without damage.

If I scan just a page by placing the document on the scanner glass, and then NO matter whatsoever.

    100% reproducible every time.

So I know that it has nothing to do with the glass (which is clean), but only when the scanned document must pass through.

Checked the forums for similar problem and found no exact match.

I imagine that an expert out there knows the answer to that high hand. IF you could speak up, I would appreciate it.

    I THOUGHT ABOUT IT!

    I read another post:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/scanning-faxing-and-copying/HP-OfficeJet-Pro-8500A-plus-vertical-black-lines-only-when/m-p/1391261/highlight/true#M30268

who is mentioned on opening the ADF cover. Well I opened the whole Assembly, having absolutely NO idea how it all works, and I found a 1 "x 8.5" thick mirror (for lack of a better term) who had what looked like white paint on it to the place where the pages were probably getting the black line. I scratched, retested and the question was gonzo - that's all!

Then my wife just told me that she thinks that she knew what the problem was all along. She had put on a page and it had not dried, and she tried to put it in the charger to make a copy. She just thought that we were going to replace the printer even when and if ever, let me know. During this time it was me mad for months. What are you laughing at me? This all-in-one works very well for years - replace without good reason, must learn a new product, get new cartridges, out the same old, same old, NO way. If it is not broke, do not replace it!

  • 5514 photosmart e-all-in-one: scan multiple pages into a single PDF document?

How can I scan multiple pages into a single multi-page PDF file?
I saw posted similar questions, but I have not found all the right answers. The Council alone that I saw was to scan each page in a separate PDF document, then merge them into a single PDF using third party software.
Of course, I don't want to do.
I can't believe that there's really no way to do it using the existing HP printing/scanning utilities provided with the hardware.
My printer/scanner is the "HP Photosmart 5514 e-All-in-One Printer - B111h", and I am running Vista (64 bit) on a HP Pavilion laptop.

    Hello

The HP scanning software (start > programs > HP > Photosmart HP 5510 series > HP Scan) select PDF and make sure that the resolution is 300 dpi or less.

Make sure the option Show Scan preview is checked, and click Scan.

Once the first page of scanning is finished, place the next page on the window and click on the button "+" under the scan preview...

Once you are done click Save.

  • all in one HP Photosmart B111h printer black cartridge 5514

Set us up our new all-in-one HP Photosmart 5514 B111h printer yesterday.  The black cartridge seems to print does not always and printer don't align.

Here is the document Print quality for your printer troubleshooting: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02914910

The printer may not properly align if she isn't black printing. Try the procedure described in the document, in particular one to clean the print head. Are there no black at all in prints? If you follow all the steps described in the paper and still can not black to print correctly, you will need to contact HP for warranty support.

  • Glass broke on all-in-one helps to find the requested Party

    Hello

has broken the glass of my scanner on my dj3070A all-in-one.

Had a good look on the site Web of HPs, but there is no information of the party. Can you please see if they can find a link to the relevant info for me?

From user guide, forums, specifications, information drawn parts pages but a white all along. If I could just get my hands on the glass I could either have a professional fix it for me or have a go myself, but without that info of the game, I can not anywhere...

    All help gratefully received...

I can't do any guantees, however, I've seen printers with the broken scanner glass replaced at the front thanks to HP directly, while they were under warranty. You will need your product and serial number when you call, but they should be able to you provides an excelellent service.

  • HP Officejet 4630 reprint e-all-in-one spent at the start of printing to the top of the computer

    I use my laptop (OS - Windows 7 64 - bit / Home Premium/Service Pack 1) with a wireless connection to my printer (4630 Officejet e-all-in-one).

When I start my laptop, my printer reprints the last print job immediately.  It only started a short time ago - was incompatible at first.  I have recently authorized HP install an "update" & now it happens every time.

I looked at the preferences panel & couldn't find any settings that would explain this problem.

I have to "cancel all documents" (even if nothing is not) every time before I closed my laptop?

I think that the problem is solved - I hope so.  I looked for a solution to the 'help' under 'network' since I use my printer via WiFi with my laptop.  He suggested to cut the power to the printer and the router.  After that, he stopped additional printing.

So, your suggestion is substantially the same.  If I had seen your answer first of all, I have done as you suggest.

Thank you for helping me to find a solution.

    Hello

Multiple pages cannot be faxes from the top of the page charger with any fax inkjet HP with an ADF, glass flat.

As a solution, if you send a media that cannot be placed on the charger, you can scan pages of the glass in a single file using the program scan HP and by fax of the digitized document (select the fax printer in the print dialog box).
