Anyone can check the content of the recovery media "correctly"?

I recently did a recovery media (USB), and I don't know if the content is correct as media seems doesn't work is not as expected.

Can anyone list the folders and files to the root of the media of recovery? As the folder "FactoryUpdate" and info.dat.

I am aware that the list of files may vary depending on the models, but the folder & list of Envy with Windows8 series would be perfect! Otherwise, all pre-installed with Windows8 would be nice too!

Thank you!!!

I suggest to change the date of the BIOS of the laptop to 14/01/2014 and then runs a recovery to test the media. Use one choice other than the factory image recovery. In this way the recovery partition will not be erased!

The following images show generally what we should see that the content of a media recovery USB drive created with HP recovery media creator. It's a media key of usb of my current loan of HP products, which is a spectrum Envy 13-3000 CTO Touchsmart Ultrabook.

You can order the recovery media using your SNID, from the link below. I have an ACER desktop computer, and it cost me less than US$ 20.00, to order an additional series.

    Wow!

Sorry, you've got such clothing. I thought it was a professional laptop.

That's what the site directed me to.

If you know the number located on the sticker as well as the serial number of your product, you can order a set of discs of recovery on the link below by entering your product number there.

Also, I just discovered yesterday, if you can read your 25-character product key MS, you can do your own Windows Vista installation disc.  You just download the 3 files you need on the link below and read all the instructions to create a Setup bootable DVD disk using imageburn.

It was not so hard to do. I burned both the disk of 64-bit and 32-bit disk in case I ever need them.

I tested both of them (just before going forward with the actual facility) and they seem to work perfectly.

Apparently, when you enter the product key, he knows which version of Vista you have.

After you install vista successfully, you can download the drivers you need your laptop support and driver page.

  • Is there a limit on the number of times you can use the recovery CD

I have a desktop a6242n and the failed hard drive, I installed a new and inserted the recovery CD and it comes up with the message that this is not the correct CD for this computer. I made them when I first got the computer and used without problem. Is there a limit on the number of times I can use the recovery CD? If I buy a new game that will work?

    Hello

There is no limit to how many times you can perform a recovery from the discs. The issue is likely because the hard drive does not have DMI information loaded on it. You will perhaps call HP and order a set of recovery disks and ask them to guide you through access to tools on the recovery disk to reload this information on the disc, assuming they are available.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite A665 - error in the Recovery Media Creator

    Hello world

I have a Satellite A665 and I tried to do a recovery with the Recovery Media Creator disc, but I got an error Code: 0E01B5-26 - 2A 030200
Anyone has an idea about this problem!

I created my two Toshibas recovery disks, but everything went well.
In the past in this forum, several people have reported on similar error messages, but in the end we do not know why this is happening.

What you can try is to start the recovery of HARD drive and when the operating system is preinstalled, try to re-create the recovery disc.
Please use only on DVD-R media and also to purchase high quality like Verbatim or TDK media.

    Hello

    I have a Yoga pro 2.

I recently formatted my drive and got rid of all partitions. The reinstalled windows 8.

Everything worked well until I went into the bios and changed the legacy boot uefi support.

I get this is now pop up when I boot.

By default, lack of start-up or start-up device failed. Insert the recovery media and press a key. Then select "Boot Manager" to select a new device boot or boot recovery media.

I have no support from reccovery.

I tried to restart the mchine pressing F2, but I still get the same screen.

If I press on enter I then move the pop up to the Boot Manager when the list is empty, so I can't start any other readers because there is not to choose.

I don't know what else to do...

    Help, please.

  • No CD operating system created by the function 'Create the recovery media' - Windows/Vista/SP1

I bought a R61 with Vista Business installed for the purpose of this downgrade to Windows/XP. I noted with interest that the system had arrived with VISTA/SP1 is installed. First thing I did was summon the Thinkvantage Rescue to create and support recovery in the case where I decided to go back to Vista at some point in the future. After you have created all of the proceeds of the recovery disks and being the creative professional that I am, I decided to test the newly created disks. Three DVD has been created. When I tried to restore the system from these backups, I learned that I didn't have a CD of the operating system. None of the 3 DVD was recognized as a CD of the operating system. Unfortunately at this point in the process, the hard drive had been wiped out and I didn't have a working computer. My only alternative was to restore using the recovery media to Windows/XP that were in the area and call Lenovo and request recovery Vista media. They arrived very quickly, so I deleted the XP image and restore the image of Vista from Lenovo's Vista recovery disks. I was very disappointed to discover that there was no SP1 Vista recovery disks. To make matters worse, when I tried to call the 'create recovery media' of this image of Vista, I even created a box of 3 DVD recovery DVDs that once again, did not contain an operating system CD.

I find myself with the situation that I can't get the exact picture that was on my computer, when it left the factory. I don't know that besides as SP1, it should have been revised pilots and others who came with this machine originally, and which I am not aware. These could create strange incompatibilities I had to install Vista/Sp1 from the Microsoft site on top of the current generation of Vista.

Is it possible to get a Vista Business/Sp1 for the R61 recovery support?

Moreover, my computer is Windows XP now and recovery media created from this environment of work like a charm. I know. I tried them.

It took a few months to get a handle on this, but here is the final solution.

First of all, the person who suggested that if the first media was on DVD, to copy it to a CD to work had no idea what they were talking about. Either works just as well, even if Lenovo suggests that the first must be a CD.

As usual, the 'problem' was caused by poor documentation. When you perform a set of recovery using Rescue and Recovery Media, you do not create an "operating system CD", and this is normal. When you get a set of recovery CD / DVD from Lenovo, you will always get one which is marked "operating system CD.

Different sets through processes of different recovery and rescue and recovery needs to know what kind of game you have, it allows to perform the correct process.  It does this by asking the question "Do you have an OS CD?" Based on the answer she executes a process or another and expects different content on the CD / DVD that are presented to him. You cannot mix DVD upward between the two processes. If you say Reccue and recovery that you have a CD of the operating system (ie. provided by Lenovo) and present it with media created by you using the process of "Creating rescue media", the recovery fails.

Finally, I went back and restored my machine using the DVD that I created initially using Rescue and Recovery. I answered 'NO' to the question "Do you have an OS CD?" and ended with a perfectly functional R61 VISTA/SP1. He didn't stay for long, however. Then I reinstalled XP using the provided Lenovo recovery CD, I answered YES to the question and ended up with a fully functional XP R61. Now, everything's fine.

Try to copy in memory USB, using Recovery Media Creator, original image from the Pc; just in case of future problems, I get this message: error 040 EAE-02-000000000.

Have you tried another USB key? The stick is probably defective, so the recovery media can t create successfully.

Also format the stick before using the recovery media creator.

  • Preinstalled software is included in the recovery media?

Because I'm going to create recovery CD using the Recovery Media Center on my Toshiba L750

It says disk only, no request for system recovery media. I'm therefore wondering if the software is included with the class of system recovery media or I'll have to do something else so I have to drive.

It says also on this site:
    Link: [https://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/bulletinDetail.jsp?soid=2753749&pf=true]

Please can you give me a help please

When you buy the new laptop, it comes with preinstalled OS that includes all necessary drivers, Toshiba and public services, as well as some additional software tools too.

When you create the recovery disk so recovery image stored on this disk will be absolute same components after installing OS using this created disc, you'll have the same thing you have after the first start.

    What I don't understand? ..... Izzy

    Hi @Izzy11201 ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your TouchSmart from HP ENVY 15 laptop and issues using a USB key as the recovery media.

I think that the laptop it tell you that the Thumbdrive could not be formatted for all functions of Windows 8. It doesn't have to be 32 GB and is compatible to Windows 8 to create a recovery USB Flash disk. Here is a link to the creation of recovery disks or USB in Windows 8 flash player, if you need it.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

In General, you can use a recovery of other media laptop, but there is the same model of laptop with the same hardware configuration.
