Apple and Dell laptops with OfficeJet Pro 8600 bonus?

Can someone tell me if I can PRINT (and use ALL other 8600 functions) of a laptop Apple MacBook Pro (with Mac OS X - 10.6.8) AND a laptop Dell XPS (Windows 7) running at the SAME TIME?  I'm running wireless via an Apple AIRPORT EXTREME (802.11n).

Another words, if I load ALL the SOFTWARE supplied with this printer 8600, on every laptop (Apple Mac) and windows on the Dell, I'll be able to ACCESS & PRINT (and use ALL other 8600 functions) of each wireless laptop?

Or do I have to DESIGNATE the 8600 PRINTER to use alone or in other wireless?

I hope that I can do BOTH, because I just bought this PRINTER and never thought that this could be a problem!

JERRY

Well Yes, that's what a printer (wireless) network is all about!  A suggestion is however NOT use the CD that came with the printer for this software is often obsolete.

Download and install the latest version of the software for your printer from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page.

  • Not completely scan legal size with Officejet Pro 8600 more Documents

  • Cannot select tray 2 copy with Officejet Pro 8600 Premium

    Win 7, 64 bit

    OfficeJet Pro 8600 Premium

I installed the drivers on the disk supplied in the box. (Not sure if there is a new driver or an update yet for this product.)

I bought this printer so that I could load my UPS package labels into a bar of tasks and plain paper in the other.

I loaded the labels into Tray 1 (according to instructions) and paper in tray 2.

I have everything works fine except that I can't understand how to specify tray 2 as the tray to make copies of. In respect of the COPY > SETTINGS > SET SELECT only Tray 1 is displayed.

    Issues related to the:

    (1) why not tray 2 option to copy? How can I fix it? A firmware update maybe?

    (2) printing these UPS labels from tray 2 seems to work very well. Is there a reason why this would be bad?

    Thank you!

Connected by ethernet cable, he downloaded the new version of the firmware (... 1136BR).

That fixed it! Tray 2 is now an option under settings to copy.

The only disappointing is that I asked about a new version of the firmware in my first question... but it took a whole week to get this resolved... and I had little to get to the answer myself!

In any case, now it is fixed and seems to work very well.

  • problem with Officejet pro 8600 N911g ePrint

I'm trying to install eprint on my officejet however I have questions. I went into my settings to printers via the IP address and when I click on activate ePrint, it says this:

Unable to connect to the server.

Check the Internet connection and try again. Or contact your system administrator or the person who set up the printer.
If your network requires a proxy server address to connect to the Internet, click Proxy enter or check your browser settings.

As far as I know of I do not use a proxy server address. I have Cox Cable internet and have set the IP to my computer/printer to static. All other work well i.e. wifi printing, iphone/ipad and ext.

    Thank you

    Danny

The steps below a usually resolve the problem you are experiencing:

    1. unplug the power cord at the back of the printer.

    2. unplug the power cord at the back of your router (and the modem, if they are separated from the router).

    3. wait 20 seconds, then plug the router (and the modem, if necessary) in.

    4. wait for 30 seconds, then plug the printer back and power.

    5. press the button on the front of the printer ePrint, and it should try to connect to Web Services again.

These steps usually fix the problem, but if it persists, you can try definition of network information static for the printer (which is sometimes useful to stabilize the ability of the printer to get outside of your network to the internet):

    1. tap the wireless at the top of the screen of the printer and note the IP address.

    2. Enter the IP address in the address bar of a web browser on a computer and press on enter or click the go button browser.

    3. the printer status page must be open.  Click network in the upper part.

    4. click on networking on the left.

    5. Select the Proxy settings.
Note: If you are prompted for a redirect, click OK.  If you receive a certificate warning, select the option that allows you to continue anyway.
If you receive an internal system error, refresh the page until it loads the proxy settings.

    6. check that all fields are empty.  If they are not, make them disappear and make sure that the Proxy Server requires authentication is unchecked and click on apply.  You should get a success message.

    7. click on the network address (IP) on the left.
Note: If you only configuring IP address and DNS address with a yellow note Configuration, refresh the page until it loads completely.

    8. leave automatic IP IP address Configuration.

  • ePrint with officejet pro 8600 more

When I try to connect to set up my e-print it says my email is already associated with snap fish and it wont let me sign

Perhaps it is that you have a SnapFish.com account. A large number of long-term HP customers have SnapFish.com accounts and don't realize it. One of the printer software frees customers signed up automatically, and most people did not know, or forgot, because they never used it. Try to go to SnapFish.com and using the forgotten password screen link it connection. Once you have reset the password, go to ePrintCenter.com and use the SnapFish.com log in information for you connect. If this does not help, you may need to contact SnapFish.com directly to delete the account, or use a different email to record with. Another difficulty that I have met is actually recreate a SnapFish.com account, if SnapFish says no accounts exist, or no email comes, when you try to reset your password.

  • 8.1 Windows Pro problem with HP OfficeJet Pro 8600

I am running Windows Pro 8.1.
I tried to install the software and drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 without success.

I tried to remove the software, reinstall, reboot the computer, do a 'clean' start, and nothing has worked so far.

I received the following error message:

Impossible to install a file that is necessary because the CAB file c:\users\User\appdata\local\temp\7zS2EAD\OJ860x64.cab has a signature digital invalid. This may indicate that the file is corrupted.

The error message is the same every time I try something new.

I am able to print, if I add the printer through the option "add a printer" in Windows Explorer, but I want to install the complete software so that I can scan also.

I downloaded more than 10 times the files several associates of troubleshooting: troubleshooting HP Installation failure MSI, HP Print and Scan doctor, but they have not helped at all.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Alfitoand welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you have found errors during the installation.  I want to help you with this.

I would start by trying to install on another account on the computer.

It also seems that there may be a corruption in the temp directory.  I suggest you remove all your temp HP folder.  I am including the steps to get the specific folder:

-On your keyboard, hold down your windows key and R key

-A 'RUN' box will become available

-Type in %Temp%, and then hit

-Open your folder that begins with 7z

    -Delete everything inside

    -Restart your computer

Once you have done this, I recommend reinstalling the software using the HP printer install wizard for Windows.

If this does not resolve the issue, I would recommend going to your home screen in mosaic, and typing in CMD and press to enter.  That will take you to your command prompt.  In you command prompt, type sfc/scannow, and then press ENTER.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
