  I am inclined to ask 'why', but I refrain...

  The problem you'll have is that 'telnet' (really inetd) will be started by SMF and your app startup is a legacy script. I don't know of anyway to you allows to map addictive SMF one departure inherited. The only solution is to write a start of SMF for your application and do inetd:default require your application to be online before you start.

• Portege M400-146 slow startup performance

  My 400 is significantly slow starts, compared to a lower specification laptop that this device was intended to replace.   I agree with you. Many processes of background can slow performance of the laptop.
  But it is a simple fact. Each application or function on the laptop needs a clean process.

Anyone know how and what I don't need? You know, all these bells & whistles that a medium web peruser like me do NOT need? I'm fairly warned, but C'mon! It depends on all the other non-necessites. It's technically impossible on purpose? I turn on my computer, go to the bathroom, come back (fingers crossed) hoping that my 2 icons are there. Me(Administrator/User) & me (guest). Now, I have enough time to prepare the breakfast and (lol) also eat. To return to my computer (fingers crossed once again) and I hope that my office is ready. Everyone?   Thank you, I made certain specified things, get rid of unwanted programs (that I now use manually) and discovered what Windows Services, I could live without. Quick Startup was what started me in the right direction. Nice little tool, also. You solved my problems! The start-up time is fast and buttons user-Guest, I now get to the desktop in less than 5 seconds! WTG! • Warning "Application cannot perform an operation. Problem Firefox (17.0.1) or Windows 7?

  At the start of Firefox (17.0.1), I get the message "application was unable to complete an operation."

  Is this an error in Firefox or the operating system (Windows 7, 64-bit)? After that I closed the warning, Firefox seems to work normally.

  Thanks for the workaround. Run Admin has solved the problem for the Version 17.0.1. The warning message does not appear for 18.0.1 - not so far.

  5 SDK won't help you, unless you upgrade your phone for OS 5 (which is possible).

  If you use the plugin + eclipse by default, you can change the version of the JRE used in the build properties.
  If you are using APIs that are 6.0 only, you will need to rework your program - or use a BB with OS 6 or later.

  I have a client who receives the error message following when my application starts.  I checked and other people with the same model and the operating system may not be problems.  I delete the app and reinstall it, but it doesn't seem to help.  I was wondering if someone else has faced a similar problem.

  I submitted this to the RIM.  They go for me SUPER fast.  I was impressed by Garrett.

  Bad news, RIM forgot to include gridFieldManager in the 5.0.0.602 output for the 9700, which is be the 9700 version for most carriers, as I can tell.  They checked that older operating systems are OK and the new 5.0.0,714 OS is OK.

  Unfortunately, it is a very big problem for me.  To make it worse, I don't think that App World has a way to send the release notes for customers. VERY short-sighted.  I think that someone way more thought App Word and made it so complicated that sucks for developers and customers.

  I can't say for sure, but it sounds like you have the same library placed in folder application library web and common Tomcat library directory. Depending on where you place these libraries, they will be charged by the classloader of the application or the parent Tomcat ClassLoader.
  In other words, I believe that you have a loaded library file lib webapplication instead of the loading in the parent ClassLoader.

  Or with a level of abstraction as I mentioned above, if you don't want to "View Source" in your HTML page to contain the JNDI names themselves. The list can contain logical names such as the 'db1' and 'db2' which, inside your classes of dynamic authentication information, you could turn the 'db1' string in some "jdbc/DatasourceNameForDB1" and similarly to turn the 'db2' string in the datasource JNDI name.

  It seems to be. My C50 looks like it is starting off and then displays the login screen. Probably over a minute on a system clean restoration.

  You must read the comparison of strings in Java.  This line:

  If (pinNumber == "12345678") {...

  will never work for you.  You need to use something like:

  If (pinNumber.equals ("12345678" "") {...)

  This problem of string comparison is probably one of the most common made by beginners of Java.  I recommend you get a basic Java book and re-read it before making too many other coding otherwise, you will hit most of these problems.

  Another point, the BlackBerry platform has its own peculiarities, which means it is not the ideal platform to learn, at least for a very new Java developer.  You can get a few basic java programs working on a platform, that you better know before you start trying to code Java on BlackBerry.
