ASA5515X-IPS management 0/0 to the LAN

I have installed recently two ASA5515X in a/s each with the ID. When I got in the lab, I was able to access the IPS through EMI but now that he's in the data center it doesn't (of course). I have the IP addresses that are configured with an IP address on our local area network and the ASA Management0/0 interface configured as:

interface Management0/0

No nameif

security-level 100

no ip address

management only

Management0/0 interface is plugged into a switchport on our networks VLAN. The ASA's see the IPS that up, and I checked the IPS network settings. Any ideas? I forgot something? TIA!

Hello

Very well. Let us know any update.

The person in charge of the case will have access to the area so that he or she will be able to run a few catches.

It's weird that you don't have the MAC address of the IPS module on the switch, I would check the topology of layer 2 first.

Kind regards

Julio

  • Isolate the vCenter and management host ESXi5.1 of LAN traffic

I would add two Dell switches to an existing installation, create a private management network (192.168.x.x subnet) containing the hosts and vCenter server, so that the management traffic is isolated and in no way dependent on connectivity LAN... for now that the vCenter server and the hosts are on the local network using public IP addresses.

Is this possible with vCenter as vCenter that one IP can be configured and how should we switch be configured to allow access to vCenter from the local network via the web and customer management interface vSphere.

    Thank you very much

Facing your audience of LAN?  I think it depends a little bit of what looks like your LAN.  I don't think - you need not NAT your management network.  If you simply use public IPs rather than private to your internal LAN, the answer is no.  I have a client who does this same thing using 191.x.x.x for its internal network.  You try to access your network over the Internet?  It would be a different matter, and I recommend that to consult a competent network engineer.

In short, just because you go to a public IP address range a private range of IP addresses does not mean you need to NAT.  You see NAT several times when these IP address ranges are used because they are intended.  For example, a company has a single public IP address assigned.  It uses private in its local network IP addresses.  For devices that must leave the LAN and access the Internet, you would NAT because everyone has to share this single public IP.

Without knowing a little more, I think you'd be fine with the standard range or switching (inter - VLAN routing layer 3).

    All the best,

    Mike

  • Does anyone have a guide to the Cisco IPS Manager Express Administrator?

    Hello.

Does anyone have a guide to the administrator of the Cisco IPS Manager Express?, I need to update my license some a procedure?, if I have an IPS with Bypass the configuration at the time of the closing of SPI interfaces will license update or will have no affection?

    Thank you.

Here you will find guides - everything depends on your version:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/HW/vpndevc/PS4077/products_installation_and_configuration_guides_list.html

For example, here is the 7.1 version SEO licenses:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/IPS/7.1/Configuration/Guide/IME/ime_sensor_management.html#wp2219086

Apply a license will not stop interfaces... However, if you apply an update of the signature, you'll stop traffic for a short time during the installation of the signatures up-to-date inspection.

    Hope that helps.

  • My works wireless, but my connection to the LAN does not work?

I have a Toshiba L305-S5917 laptop and my connection to the LAN does not at all, when I plug my CAT 5 cable into the slot not strikes is the lights. IM able to use my wireless works fine. All this happened when my laptop crashed due to a virus. I reloaded all windows from XP to Windows 7 and also bought Numbus disk driver and recovery for my model laptop and still no connection to the LAN... pls help.

    Hello

Sorry I'm not quite clear about the situation.

You posted on the Vista Forum; you have loaded Win XP and you running Windows 7?

If the computer is currently running on Windows 7, newspaper to the support site for Toshiba laptop, download Windows 7 drivers for the wireless network card and install them.

    In general.

Check the Device Manager for the entry of valid card of the wire.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

    ----------------------------------

Try installing the latest drivers from the card manufacturer support page.

Download the drivers and extract them to a folder of your choice.

In Device Manager, right-click on the adapter.

Click Update drivers and choose her browse my computer for drivers.

Choose let me a list of choices, click on disk and point to the folder with the drivers.
    -------------------------------------

Check network connections to make sure that you have a Local Area Connection icon/entry, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_connection_tcp.jpg

Connect you to the menu of the router from a work computer and make sure DHCP is on, and it is configured to assign IPs which can cover the number of computers that are connected (a bit more will be even better).

Turn off the computer and the router, reset the router and the computer.

Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.

On the State of intellectual property.

TCP/IP and its variables usually look like this.

Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.

Typical TCP/IP status looks like this.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/status-NIC.jpg

Description is the data of the card making.

    Physical address
is the MAC of the card number.

The xx must be a number between 0 and 255 (all xx even number).

YY should be between 0 and 255

ZZ should be between 0 and 255 (zz all the same number.)

The date of the lease must be valid at the present time.

    * Note 1.
IP that starts with 169.xxx.xxx.xxx isn't valid functional IP.

    * Note 2 There could be an IPv6 entries too. However, they are not functional for Internet or LAN traffic. They are necessary for Win 7 homegroup special configuration.

    ------------------------

Also, make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq.html#trusted

Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block aspects of the Local traffic even it they are off (off) . If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

  • Satellite L850 - unidentified network, try to use the LAN card

I have the Satellite L850 and were using the wireless without any problem.

Now I find that I can't get the network to work just by using my Ethernet cable.
I tried to turn off the wifi and allowing the PCIe realtech family responsible of the treatment, which is the connection to the local network, but I get unidentified network.

Y at - it a sort of conflict between wifi even if it is disabled and the connection to the local network.
I'm pulling out my hair. The LAN worked very well until I decided to try the WIFI.

    Hello

The unidentified network problem may be related to different causes, and therefore different workaround solutions may be possible.
First of all I recommend you to uninstall the network adapter driver.
This can be done in the Device Manager. After the driver has been removed, restart the laptop and install the network driver that you can download on the page of the Toshiba driver.

2nd solution: reset the reset TCP/IP protocol
To do this, see the article Microsoft Knowledge base:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/299357

Check also if you tools of security (firewall, antivirus software, Mcafee) n does affect network connectivity.

But generally, you can find all the drivers on the European driver Toshiba page.
Check the model number and serial (bottom) and choose the correct LAn driver Toshiba page.

Notes; Win XP should be updated to the last State. I mean that you need SP2 and the additional fixes to ensure that everything would be fine.
