Atheros AR9002wb-1ng constantly need reset troubleshooting

I have a laptop ASUS N53SV card Atheros AR9002wb-1ng. Last week, the connection continues being dropped randomly and reset of the card is the only thing that will fix it.

I already tried things:
  • Change the channel on the router (it goes from 1 to 11, no difference)
  • Disabling the adapter power management settings
  • The reactivation of the adapter power management settings
  • Install a new driver (from what I could find, I could have done this wrong)
And finally:
  • Uninstall the card completely and restarted my computer, which he has reinstalled everything from scratch.
It was the last thing I did to try to solve the problem. It worked for about an hour, but now I have a new problem: troubleshooting tool resets over the adapter, then now, I do it manually each time by the Manager of devices of deactivation and activation (which I do every 10 minutes approximately).
Do you think this could be a hardware problem? I don't know what to do to solve this problem.

Hello

Have you checked for updated firmware for the router?

Collate ASUStek support, their drivers and documentation online and ask for their
Forums about known problems. There may be a problem hardware or driver known with
solutions.

  • Satellite L750/052: Atheros AR9002WB-1NG supports only WPA?

    I seem to have a problem with a L750/052.
I have the latest version of the driver for the Atheros AR9002WB-1NG, which is 9.2.0.316.0.
I'm trying to connect to the modem/router is a Netgear DGND3700.

When buying at the origin it would not connect to the wireless network it just kept rejecting the key wireless WPA2 (AES).
I've set up a WPA (TKIP) network and it recognizes the key but it will just keep stalling even if in the same room to the modem/router.

To further reading, I discovered a lot of Atheros cards Wireless will not support encryption WPA/WPA2 and WEP, which is much less secure support and wireless manufacturers stopped including it products out there.

Y at - it a newer firmware that could solve the problem of the WPA or includes support for WPA2 (AES)?

    Hello

I found this PDF on AR9002WB-1NG specifications:
    http://www.QCA.Qualcomm.com/media/product/product_75_file1.PDF

It s mentioned here that the Atheros card support AES, TKIP, WEP security.
Then you should be able to use AES (WPA) encryption.
But this map is only 2.4 Ghz

If you need to make sure that your router is also 2.4 Ghz; This means that you must use the standard 802.11 WiFi B or G (802.11 N runs at 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz)

By the way; Frequency 2.4 Ghz is used by other different devices such as microwave, baby monitor, or Bluetooth, so it could be possible that these devices are thus the signal of your Wlan.

By the way; the latest Atheros divers can be found here:

    Hi Jane,

Yes, I'm having a great time. Thank you.

Screenshots that you shared, it's an Atheros AR9002WB-1NG wireless network adapter.

If you do not want to uninstall the old drivers I suggest that you try to update the driver from Device Manager.

Even if it is not up-to-date, it won't bother the driver works.

  • Satellite L750 - problem connecting Internet of Atheros AR9002WB-1NG

I bought a Toshiba Satellite L750 and a Linksys/Cisco Modem Router WAG120N in early June and have struggled since the connection to the internet.

I have a hard desktop connected to the modem PC and have no problem of internet access. Portable wireless internet connection maintains a fall or not to display a Web page (even though it says it is connected). It will only work effectively when it is connected through an ethernet straight cable to the modem. Linksys said they believe that the Atheros is not compatible with the modem and contact Toshiba ask him for the latest download update the adapter driver. I am running one in the title.

Can anyone help? I don't know much about these things. Thank you.

    Hi Lisa,

These questions on the preinstalled version of Windows 7 in Toshiba or your own installation of Windows?
Is it in eco mode or maximum performance too?

This problem could be linked to the function of your energy saving wireless network card. In Windows power management, you can disable the WLAN energy saving function. You will need to set maximum performance for each power profile.

In addition, an update of the WLAN driver is always advisable. You can download the latest version on portal Toshiba WLAN:

  • Satellite P750 / 02Q - can I know what speed to Atheros AR9002WB-1NG

Hi, I just bought a P750 / 02Q and I wondered how fast I should be expecting from the local wireless network. The maximum I can connect is 65M. I saw him fall up to 150 and higher, but he never stays at this rate for more than 30 seconds.

I have an Acer here which has the Atheros AR5B93 and he has no problem locking to 300 M.

This isn't a problem as well as the Internet is concerned, but via the LAN my new laptop "cutting edge" is less than half as fast as my old Acer... not what I expected!

I upgraded to the latest drivers and tried various different settings on the router, including the disabling of security, 20 Mhz / 40 Mhz, aerial configurations, (it has 3 antennas), only N and NG mixed and I still get the same result. It seems to connect to a higher speed for a few seconds then back she goes! (All my faithful what ACER chugs to 300 M)

How can I get this laptop to lock at 150M (or 300 M) without losing in return?

    It is VERY frustrating...

    See you soon,.

    Scott.

    Hello

The Atheros AR5B93 supports the 802.11 b/g/n standard and the standard 802.11 N will only work at 2.4 Ghz as mentioned here in this doc:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB0502VM0000R01.htm

The 802.11n standard specifies the theoretical bandwidth of 300 Mbit/s (150 Mbps using 2.4 Ghz). Without it, about 50% of the bandwidth is lost (due to General considerations of Protocol), and this means that you can get about 130 - 150 Mbps in 5 Ghz and 50% clocked at 2.4 Ghz.

  • Windows 8 has constantly need factory reset on computer

After reading several posts, it seems that everyone has problems with Windows 8/8.1.  Bought a new computer from office touchscreen in March 2013.  Within 2 days of shopping, began to have problems with the W8 closing and/or mode auto repair at least once a week.  I had to do a complete factory reset at least 4 times now because the repairs and upgrades are not solved the problem.  I spoke in support of so many times my head spinning.  I don't see where my computer is the problem, because many jobs in the face of the same or similar problems with many different computers, even with simple updates to computers that worked well until the W8 was installed.  And Microsoft can't even get my right warranty information, saying that it expired three days after I bought the computer.  I scanned my receipt and sent to them, as indicated, all the information and I'm having problems.  They have yet to set this warranty issue, or helped with the accidents that happen, other than to direct me to make yet another factory reset.  I am extremely frustrated with the constant question with the W8.  When it does not work, my computer works well.  The last time I talked to the support, the man I spoke to said that there was a file corrupted in W8.

    Hi Sherry,

Please write your question to us.

It is unfortunate that you are facing so many problems with your computer. I can understand the frustration this might cause, but rest assured, we're here to help and guide you in the right direction.

What is the brand and model of the computer?

Since then, it's a desktop, guaranteed does not lie with Microsoft, but the manufacturer of the computer as Windows is pre-installed on it.

The question you are faced to seems to come from your material, I suggest you run a hardware check utility that is provided to you by the manufacturer.

I would also ask that you contact your system manufacturer for assistance on this issue.

Hope this information was useful. Just reply with the results and if you need further assistance, we will be happy to help you.

These accidents were related to the corruption of memory (probably caused by a driver).

Run these two tests to check your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.  Launch auditor.  You don't need to run memtest again unless the auditor is not the cause, or you want to.

If you are overclocking anything reset by default before running these tests.

  • Firefox will crash/freeze constantly and reset to the default values

For the last few weeks, I had a lot of problems with Firefox crashing. Whenever I try to open a new tab or load a web page, it will freeze. Sometimes, it's only for a few minutes, while other times it lasts up to an hour, and I have no choice but to close the program using the Task Manager, as any attempt to close normally fail. Is most common in the first few minutes after I run Firefox, and the program has been slow on this subject for a while, but usable after waiting a few minutes to load completely. As I said well that during the last weeks it has completely been lock up and crash when it happens, and it continues to occur after I have already loaded web pages and try to open new ones.

I tried a complete new installation, and the problem has been resolved for a few days, however, after a few days without access to the internet and try to connect again, the problem is even worse than before. Now, from time to time my Firefox resets the default settings completely, dredging of my page "New tab" pinned tabs, as well as remove any topic, I asked.

This parasite quickly made Firefox unusable for me, which makes me very angry that I much prefer it to Google Chrome. While I don't know that it would be useful to discern the question, here is also a list of all the extensions I have installed as well as the plugins that I have and that are still active, (with all my other plugins be disabled or 'request activation'). With the exception of "Adblock Edge", I had all the extensions installed for several months with no problems. "Adblock Edge" itself I only installed after uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox to try to solve my problem. My current version of Firefox is 35.

    Extensions:

    Edge of Adblock 2.1.7
    DownloadHelper 4.9.24
    0.1.7.3 private tab
    Adblock Plus 2.6.7

    Plug-Ins:

    Shockwave Flash 16.0.0.296
    Unity Player 4.6.1.51269

Make a check of malware with several malware scanning of programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.
All of these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.

  • Need help, troubleshooting a LAN hotel (captive portal)

This problem is not specific to Firefox, but I'm trying to see how I can use Firefox debugging features to solve a network problem. I stay in a hotel in China that uses a so-called "captive portal" to authenticate individuals before using the network. (This means that his first action navigation is redirected to the web page of the hotel for entering login information - as is often done in cafes, etc.). Using my own laptop, the redirect works if I use wifi and fails if I use the network cable (Firefox and IE both give the same result). I want my PC to work in both cases (and, in fact, it worked the day before by using a network cable to another location in the same hotel chain, which also uses what seems to be the same system of redirection). The hotel staff showed me that a PC provided by the hotel will work with the cable. So from their point of view, something is wrong with my PC, and from my point of view, something is wrong with their network. I need to know who he is.

I enabled HTTP logging in Firefox on my PC. I noticed a cycle of GET requests where a URL has been hardcoded URL several times (so ':' becomes '% 3A', which becomes 'a 253% ', then '% 25253A', etc.). For GET requests get longer before reaching a limit, I guess... the end result being an error '400' ('bad request'). Because their servers are initially redirects, I can only assume they have a bug causing this repetitive URL encoding. But, mysteriously, the PC provided by the hotel does not have the problem (and neither does my PC when using wifi). As far as I know, Firefox and IE both fail in case of failure, and both are successful in the case of success, then I do not suspect the browser.

My goal is to fix my system (if that is where the fault lies) or show the hotel staff which is the fault in their network (by demonstrating that the fault can occur even without my PC being involved). Effort on the PC provided by the hotel of troubleshooting is limited by the fact that, once authentication succeeds, I can't induce it expires, so I can't experiment a lot with the mechanism of redirection using this PC. Any ideas?

Try this: go to your Control Panel then network and sharing Center then click on change settings card on the left side. Right click on your Ethernet-> properties, and then select internet protocol version 4-> properties and click on obtain an ip address automatically and obtain dns server automatically.

Save the attached file in this e-mail on USB than SMC. BIN and insert into the system (or save the file to the root of drive d: HP_TOOLS)
-Press 'Key + arrow UP key + arrow down key Windows' all keys at the same time and turn on the system

  • Constantly need to ctrl-0 or flash stutters video

For the past few weeks I have a problem when viewing Flash videos full screen - after a few seconds of operation of the screen stops and then speeds up / surge to catch up and then stops again. Disabling hardware acceleration does nothing and pressing ctrl-0 (according to the help topic for the flash videos) prevents the stuttering. Infact if I press ctrl-0 constantly it plays very well. The same flash video through IE is no problem. He stole not drive or high CPU / memory (accourding to the Task Manager) use when this happens. I tried deleting and reinstalling Flash and also the same for Firefox. Any ideas? Right now I use the 'open in IE' snap, but it's a little embarrassing...

Sorted! Go to safe mode turned off all the extensions, but plug-ins still worked. I deleted Mindspark toolbar plug-ins and Panda security online (which I don't remember installing... grrrrr) and it is all mended... Thanks for the info.

  • HP Pavilion 17: need reset bios password

Need bios password checksum is 2B65BB6A

    Hello

Your laptop is to produce a code hexadecimal halt which is stored in the ram as a 'one stop' and is recalculated after a reboot.  This indicates that you have a FRIEND bios later and unfortunately none of the current code generators will work - surprisingly, you can always remove power on password of the machine by removing the cell RTC (leave the connected Power Board) then hold down the power button for 60 seconds before reinserting the RTC.

The bad news is that the RTC is on the 'wrong' side of the system board, so it will take a lot of disassembly.

The only other option would be to Contact HP in this regard.

    Kind regards
