ATV Gen 4 requires a power cycle to be detected by the system

Apple TV Gen 4, it's all of a sudden after 3 months of work I have to cycle unplug and replugged the power so that it can be detected by my receiver.   I tried swapping the HDMI cables. And cycling the pioneer receiver not joy. As the signal is not sufficient tension to be detected or?  Disconnecting and reconnecting power fixed for a given session.

I have also noticed that HDMI-CEC has stopped working reliably. Sometimes it takes a start of Apple TV or restart to go into action.

For me it coincided with tvOS 9.1.1 upgrade.

Interestingly, it affects only one of my two Apple TV.

I have a 700 GB drive, which has an operating system partition and a single data where I save the work and other files. A couple of weeks, I used SilverKeeper to the ice to back up my apps folder and data to a whole new Samsung 2 TB disk that I had deleted and format (which, although it came with an installer, I was unable to use because it is for Intel Macs only) and left on overnight. SilverKeeper was frozen so I started to work in the morning, but it seemed that everything was copied successfully. Now I don't know for certain that my subsequent problems started with this event, but following it, Finder now takes an age to open folders, the system or on my drive of partitioned data, or completely freezes and means that I have to perform the forced reboot. I deleted the various preferences such as system ones like zapping the PRAM. The strange thing is that after it zapping, the computer restarts on my second drive when I always seem to remember that he started the last used boot disk.

Oddly enough, I can still use all of my apps and can't seem to save and open files on a backup external drive which leads me to think it might be a hardware problem as it seems to affect the second internal drive as well. It has stopped also now boot from the power button and I have to use the option key method. Oddly enough, my second drive is always shown as selected. I don't want to wipe the drive and start again if I can avoid it, as I did with the second disc and now only one will not boot at all.

As it is an old Mac I guess I would have expected something like this (However, it never happened with Mac earlier), but if anyone out there has a suggestion, I would be very grateful to hear it.

  • Lenovo Y510P | Sudden power loss on unplug and operate the State cycling under the optimized battery

    Hello

I recently came across these related problems on my Lenovo Y510P of power: model i7, 8 GB Ram, GT750M configuration.

    ----

It started after I installed a new SSD for the system, the clean install of Windows 8.1 with all latest drivers except the previous version of the BIOS and Lenovo Energy Management. Until all this started, the battery would not charge I have troubleshooted and fixed this problem by removing the battery and holding down the Start button. Over the next few days, I started to have additional problems.

When I unplugged the power adapter, the system suddenly put off the power. Here is what happens:

    1. turn on the system with connected adapter and battery attached.

    2. unplug the adapter

    3. quickly plug adapter

    4. Quick disconnect adapter again.

    5. the system turns off completely.

Then, I started to notice that the "Battery optimized" regime, the power state would be cycle between power adaptor and batteries, as observed in the cycling of screen brightness and performace cobs. This has happened only if the battery charge level was higher than 60% but less than 98%. Regularly, I used this energy system and did not notice this problem until very recently.

    ----

I reinstalled the original SSHD (same OS and driver installation methods), where these issues were not present in the past. However, two problems remained.

I've updated the BIOS and the Lenovo Energy Management to the latest versions. Two problems persist.

    ----

I would appreciate any help or insight. My tech knowledge level is above average, so feel free to use the advances or procedures. Thank you!

I don't know what the problem at the moment with your laptop, but if it's a problem with the power supply or the battery it can easily lead to a fried motherboard.

I would like to communicate with Lenovo and send the laptop for repairs or ask for a replacement charger and battery.

  • Comm port not detected by VISA / MAX after the device power cycle connected

I have a device communicating via USB virtual comm port. The device and labview program both work very well, most of the time. The program is designed for the automatic connection for the connected equipment. It works perfectly when I unplug and reconnect the USB cable.

However, if the unit power cycled as the USB cable is connected and the program/vi is running of things go wrong. The device enters a phase of boot loader for a few seconds to the power upward, if labview tries to query the port comm during this phase the comm port is corrupted in some way and is no longer recognized by VISA / NI MAX. However, other programs, hyperterminal, etc device manager can see and communicate with the port when the boot loader is complete. For Labview / NI MAX to see the port I have to physically disconnect the USB cable. The program does not need to be restarted in order to detect the port comm again and, infact, labview is restarted or my compiled program does not solve the problem. Physically disconnect the USB port allows visa / MAX OR see the port is connected.

It seems to me that there is a problem with VISA where somehow if a device is not correctly identified by VISA during the first attempt it just does not take into account the port until a physical intervention. Is there a way to force VISA to reassess completely all connected comm ports?

    Hello MJanus,

As far as I know, most of the virtual com ports are not fully supported by VISA so some quirks in its operation are to be expected: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/6E1922B526572CB8862571AA00544057?OpenDocument

Officially, we do not support the use of com virtual ports, if unfortunately, the feature you have now is probably as good you'll be able to get with this configuration. I know it's not the answer you were hoping to hear and I apologize for the inconvenience, but it is not really possible visa work well with all software virtual com port due to the wide variety of products available.

  • FATAL error after Power Cycle - GVRP associated?

    Hi all

    Happy new year!

I have a network of four 300 switches of the series of small businesses. All are running the version of the 1.3.5.58 software (latest version).

Three of them are connected by 2 groups of LAG to the central switch that in turn connects to the router facing the internet. There are no loops in the architecture and protocols spanning tree is running. There are a total of 4 VLANS and GVRP Protocol is enabled with the four VLANS created statically on the main switch.

Normally, everything works very good and is perfectly stable.

However, a power outage this morning resulted in a cycle of power on two of the switches. They did not recover gracefully and kept restarting.

I removed the ports belonging to groups LAG in the main switch (not affected by the power cycle) and then rebuilt in order to recover the connectivity and restore normal operation.

Both of the switches which restarted several entries in their logs like this: -.

    % GVRP-F-NOSTATREG: GVRPP_checkStaticToDynamic_update: Port is not declared statically on vlan 100 * FATAL ERROR * task Reporting: BRMN. Software version: 1.3.5.58 (date October 10, 2013 time 17:15:41) 0x16adbc 0x166f28 0x6df2b0 0x48fad8 0x4903e8 0 x 490608 0x51a234 0x79dfd8 0x7b9f8c 0x7c1500 0x445d 88 0x41e04c 0x7d4c80 0x61cb68 0x1223f0 * END OF FATAL ERROR *.

Has any seen this before? I made a mistake of 'beginner' with GVRP configuration?

    Kind regards

    Andy.

Hi Andrew, Yes, that sounds all right. Essentially every change made to the master advertising GVRP wide affects each vlan, not one of them. So I think that restarting the switch downstream which forces to join will update properly for the master join message.

  • Requirements of power supply for the HD 5850 2 GB

The newegg for the HD 5850 2 GB specs say I need a 500W power supply.  However, the form printed on the box of the HD 5850 2 GB said it requires a power of 600W.  I have a 560w PSU, can I get away with this or should I spend at least a 600W?

Thank you, any help is appreciated.

The amount of amperage on the bus + 12 volts is the important resource for video cards.  One manufacturer said a block of at least 450 Watt power SUPPLY.  Not all power supplies are created equal, but the power supply in your link has 46 amps on the bus + 12 volts and that's a single rail PSU.  This should be sufficient amperage.

If you have an old HP PC, so it might be a compatibility problem with your motherboard and the HD 5850. Open your PC and do some measuring to ensure that the map will adjust.

  • T410s Ultrabay problem - hard drive requires more power

I'm working on upgrading a T410s to give it as a gift to my girlfriend. I've already upgraded the ram and had to replace the screen and both went very well.

Now, I'm working on adding a second hard drive with the ultrabay. I'll keep the original SSD as my boot drive and you want to use the ultrabay for a normal HARD drive to increase the total space for her. It is a graphic design / photography major space would be nice.

I bought a 3rd party caddy and a WD Black 750 g 7200 RPM drive through Amazon. I followed the advice that I heard somewhere that you need to make a shortcut of the old EVD to access the new hard disk drive. When I installed the ultrabay and booted up, the computer could not access E:. Nothing happened.

I heard somewhere else ultrabay housing could use only 5 units of power (I don't know if it was watts or volts) and therefore the WD black drive series, I got is likely to need more power to operate (9-12 units). This noise to anyone who has installed a ultrabay correct? Maybe at the time where the T410s first came out, most hard drives use more than 5 units?

    Any recommendations? Thank you!

I don't know what are the units of power, and I never heard of the the ultrabay on a T410s not giving a hard drive of all the power he needs. I must admit that I am very skeptical about the claim that you read.

Perhaps the drive has not been initialized because it's new? If you are on Windows 7, click the Start button and type "create and format" in the search bar. You should see the drive it so that it can be initialized. Another way to get there is by going to control panel > administrative tools > computer management > disk management.

  • Z440: Workstation Z440 Cycles endlesly after changes to the BIOS.

I made a change in the configuration of the Bios, maybe I changed PCIe options or others by mistake.

From the start, I had the RED flashing eight times (the ROM Code) with no options on the screen.

Then I tried to reset the CMOS using the key.

After resetting the CMOS, to power up, the system seems to cycle endlessly.

The power light is more red or flashing, white Uni.

The white disk access indicator flashes constantly while I hear a sound of graduation of the speaker in each cycle.

There is no interruption or modification of the status of the power led or disk access while this bike takes place.

Each cycle lasts about seven seconds.

A note: if I plug in a USB flash drive in a port, it lights once in each cycle, it does not read only.

USB peripheral lighting such as a Flash drive or a mouse stop with each beat and finally back for a moment.

Except when necessary, no devices were left plugged into the USB ports, no. trays CD discs while troubleshooting.

I tried to use a standard VGA interface instead of DVI, still nothing appears on the screen during the power upward.

I tried to boot with no installed SSD, still nothing appears on the screen.  Same symptoms persist.

I also tried the Boot Block recover jumper on the motherboard, it causes me to get the RED button with

eight beeps and flahses once again, still no options for recovery.

I tried the CD and USB rom image. Recovery methods BIN which are supposed to work without the BIOS menu.

    Without success.

I recommend that you only call in the HP support and the problem taken care of. The workstation has 3 years of support on site, at least in the United States.

  • power button will affect the performance of the system

    Mr President.

I was forced to use the power button to turn off my laptop HP 2231tx G6 in certain circumstances. I would like to know if this will affect all my gear system & impact on its performance. Because mine is only a new system.

Using the power button to turn off the computer will not affect the system hardware or your computer's performance. It can, however, lead to the system indicates that it "didn't stop in properly" and may require the system to the performance of a hard disk check before starting entirely. In addition, you can lose data by turning off the computer by this means.

  • Difficulty in the light on the AC adapter and the power light power on after connect you to the laptop

HP Pavilion dv3t notebook. Each time get adapter connect to the laptop, it takes at least 10 minutes to get the AC adapter and power indicator light on. Sometimes it does not light on all day.  It always happens any with the battery or not.

If I start the laptop with the light on the AC adapter and the power light, no matter how I move the power cord, it maintains support, works very well.

But if I start the laptop without the light on the AC adapter and the power led on even with the, i.e. start with the battery as power, no matter how I move the power cord, the led on the AC adapter and the light, i.e. no charge. He stops until the battery drain.

I believe that the AC adapter is good. But I have no idea why he has trouble in the light on the AC adapter and the power light on after to connect to the laptop.

Dv6 had a somewhat similar problem that was treated with a BIOS upgrade. I watched the latest BIOS for your laptop and there is nothing about a problem of load, however. If it works very well and also a long time that you turn it on with the AC plugged in but only has a problem with loading when you connect the adapter Windows runs, I'm tempted to say that it is a software problem as a problem with Windows power management. Maybe if you remove the hard drive, power supply, switch it on with battery only, then plug the adapter when you run in a pre-Windows environment, we can see if the same problem occurs. If it was my cell phone, I would also like to do the update BIOS level, just to see if maybe it would affect something. I could also try to run it from a Linux Live disc any and see if the same problem occurs in another operating system. Last resort I would begin focusing on the issues of possible material, as a module of taking bad AC, which is an other replaceable part that requires no welding.
